Amy Liu is back on the show! Last time we talked, Tower 28 was a couple of years in. Now it's a nine-figure brand in every Sephora in the US and expanding globally, and it all started when Amy was 40, after 24 years in the beauty industry. We get into why she thinks learning on someone else's dime was her biggest advantage, why getting into Sephora is the starting line and not the finish line, and the thing I loved most: why she actively doesn't want her products to go viral. Her Swipe concealer has been a top-3 concealer at Sephora for three and a half years without ever having a viral moment, and her reasoning on that is so smart.
We also get really honest about what this stage of business asks of you as a leader. Amy talks about the grief of watching her first hires leave after eight and a half years, learning the weight of her own words, and how she juggles Sephora, Amazon and TikTok Shop without upsetting her biggest partner. It's tactical, it's real, and she shares the one book she gives to everyone on her team. You're going to want to take notes on this one.
This week we're also sharing your build in public prompt, thanks to our partners at Adobe Express.

| How this jewelry brand became a Target favorite | 14 Sep 2026 | 00:35:37 | |
Amanda Thomas is on the podcast! She started Love AJ at 14. Twenty-five years, three rock-bottoms, and one Beyoncé Coachella moment later, she's about to be on shelves in every Target in America.
In this episode: the licensing loophole that got her into Target after a decade of no, why she cut her team from 12 to 6 and called it "ego death," the three low-drama ways she's funded growth without giving up equity, and the exact DM-to-Coachella pipeline that got Beyoncé's dancers in her jewelry.

| Nadya Okamoto: IRL business ideas and how to make a creator your cofounder | 01 Sep 2026 | 00:45:45 | |
Nadya Okamoto is on the show!! She built a nonprofit at 16, co-founded a period care company that's in Target and Walmart, and is now the cofounder and CMO at Pie, a social network powering your IRL connections started by Bonobos founder Andy Dunn.
While building her companies, Nadya's also built a huge audience. She has 6 million followers across platforms.
My favorite parts of this conversation are Nadya's masterclass on how to execute a creator equity partnership, offline and IRL business ideas, and hearing her weigh up the tradeoffs of building a very big public profile.

| We Need To Talk About Ben Bennett: The Beauty Industry's Billion-Dollar Brand Maker | 05 Aug 2026 | 00:29:23 | |
This week is a masterclass in three completely different paths to building a brand people actually care about. We start with Ben Bennett, beauty exec behind The Center , the incubator quietly responsible for Naturium, Phlur, and, as of this week, the newly sold Saltair. From there we head to Wall Street, where Reformation just went public, and chat about what it actually means for a brand this culturally loved to make it this far! Then we close out with the brand we can't stop thinking about: Butter Girl NYC. No investors, no incubator, just a genuinely good idea and impeccable content.
Then we finish off with the Build In Public challenge brought to you by Adobe Express, the free tool you can use to create anything and access at adobeexpress.com and join the conversation in the Female Founder World app.

Use the code FFW15% for 15% off Kate & Kole until 16 August 2026.
Jasmine met with the founders of Kate & Kole for today's show. They've been making lab grown jewelry since 2015 and saw the massive shift towards lab grown happening long before most other jewelrs.
In this episode, Sara and Madalynne get into why they made that call early, how they built proprietary technology so customers can fully customize their pieces online, and the strategy behind selling high-ticket jewelry to people who've never walked into their studio.
They also get refreshingly honest about the hard stuff: the Director of Ops hire their whole team flagged as the wrong fit and what happened when they didn't listen (and surviving simultaneous maternity leave). How their residency model, popping up in the cities where their customers actually live, changed the way they think about growth.
If you're building a product based business, selling at a high price point, or navigating the messy reality of co-founder life, this one's for you.

| College Ambassador Programs, 6 Month Check-In + Founder Fomo | 02 Jul 2026 | 00:33:31 | |
Jasmine, Paige, and Nat are back together for your weekly group chat show by Female Founder World, and they're kicking things off with a very real conversation about founder FOMO, why being everywhere at once is overrated, and what to do instead.
This week they're getting into college ambassador programs, what actually works, what doesn't, how the big brands are doing it, and the tactical advice Jasmine pulled from Dormify founder Amanda Zuckerman on building a program that scales. Then, they're doing a full six month check in: where everyone's businesses actually are versus where they thought they'd be, why Jasmine is doubling down on content and simplifying everything, why Nat's reflections on pop ups, and the mindset shift that's helping them stay focused for the second half of the year... outputs over outcomes.
Here are some thought starters to do your own 6 month business check in:
What did you think this business would look like by June, and how far off were you?
What's working that you didn't expect to work?
What have you deprioritized since January?
What's the hardest decision you've made this year, and would you make it again?
Is there something you're still doing out of habit or sunk cost rather than because it's actually working?
What's the thing that's costing you more than it's worth right now?
Where are you personally at - energised, depleted, somewhere in between?
What's something you've gotten better at as a founder this year that has nothing to do with the product itself?
Is there a version of burnout creeping in, and what are you doing (or not doing) about it?
What's the one thing you need to get right in the next six months?

Jasmine, Paige, and Nat are all back together for your weekly group chat show by Female Founder World and they're kicking things off with some very exciting Beech Street Swim news (two words: Bethenny Frankel).
This week they're talking about the quiet revival of out of home marketing (billboards, wheat pasting, and interactive campaigns) and why physical advertising might actually be cheaper and more effective than another digital campaign right now. Then, Paige breaks down Tara Bosch's new brand Snackish, how she's building it with creators as co owners, and what the equity model actually looks like in practice. Plus: an honest update on the fundraising landscape, and why raising before you launch might be a trap, and what to do instead.

Jasmine, Natalie and Paige are back for your weekly group chat show by Female Founder World. This week, the dot cake has broken the internet, but is it really just a cupcake with sprinkles, or does it say something bigger about the state of influencer marketing in 2026? We dig into why this $12 treat out of a tiny Long Island bakery has everyone obsessed. Then, a wild Vulture investigation reveals up to 90% of what surfaces in your feed may be the result of coordinated stealth marketing campaigns, so what does this mean for us as both consumers and founder? | The New PR Launch Playbook, Shein x Everlane And Team FFW's Smart Swaps | 21 May 2026 | 00:39:42 | |
Jasmine, Natalie and Paige are back to debrief about the business and brand news we're talking about in our group chats this week. Starting with Shein and Everlane: Chinese e-commerce giant Shein is acquiring US apparel retailer Everlane from majority owner L Catterton. The transaction values Everlane at approximately $100 million, a steep discount to the valuations it commanded during the height of the e-commerce boom. This story broke on Sunday and within hours the internet had fully convicted Everlane. The comments. The substack takes. The Insta stories from people saying they always knew. But before we pile on, we want to actually understand what happened here, because the reaction to this story is almost as interesting as the story itself. And there are some people who worked inside this company who have a very different perspective on what this sale actually means.

| The Beauty Category Nobody Took Seriously Just Produced a Sellout Hit: Inside 4AM's Target Launch and $4M Fundraise With Jade Beguelin | 12 May 2026 | 00:42:57 | |
4AM founder Jade Beguelin is on the show letting us in on the beauty news everyone's talking about: her brand's $4 million fundraise, launch into Target, and the sell-out success of the brand's Clean Sheets makeup wipes.
After years of bootstrapping, building an audience on TikTok, and tinkering with their product offering, 4AM just found product-market fit in a massive way. Their Clean Sheets wipes have sold out four production runs and grown the business more than 4x year over year.
But here's the thing: every dermatologist, skin influencer, and makeup expert will tell you to skip the face wipe. And yet makeup wipes are a top 10 best seller on Amazon. Customers were buying them anyway, ignoring the advice, because sometimes convenience wins. Jade and her co-founder Sabrina saw that gap between what experts recommend and what people actually do, and decided to just make makeup wipes that were better. This premise worked much better than trying to compete on another serum in a crowded category full of innovation.
Until now, 4AM was funded entirely by the founders' savings and a handful of $5K–$10K angel checks. The brand launched in 2021 with two serums and a simple mission: products for lazy routines and late nights. It wasn't until they reimagined the face wipe with Clean Sheets in 2025 that everything clicked — a product that's genuinely effective, built for the way people already live, and made for the kind of video content that stops a scroll.

| The TikTok Live Strategy Getting This New Brand In Front of Millions Every Week (Untouched Blooms) | 05 May 2026 | 00:27:34 | |
When Untouched Blooms founder Max Summersett started selling handcrafted phone grips on Etsy in 2024 she made a couple of orders every day. Then, within a year of launching on Shopify, she sold 10,000 products (without a single paid ad).
She launched using a few hundred dollars saved from cycling around Miami Beach selling flowers. Today, the brand’s used by influencers like Alix Earle and Morgan Riddle, and is best known for turning pet photos into phone grips.
Right around when Max launched, a different brand was going viral on TikTok with a similar product.
They were racking up 600,000 to 800,000 views but didn’t ship to the US. TikTok kept serving those videos to US audiences anyway, and people looked for a local alternative. Max’s product appeared in the search bar, and because she could actually fulfil the order, the sales started flowing to her. Orders jumped from a handful a day to 35, then 60. The lesson she took from it: if something is trending in another market and isn’t available locally, you can capitalize on the search traffic.
Once Max saw that demand was real, she moved from Etsy to Shopify to start selling on a platform she owned, and stop handing over a portion of sales to Etsy.
Max built on the momentum with influencer gifting. She doesn’t have a PR agency or huge budgets for elaborate mailers, so DMs creators and focuses on making every package feel like it was created by a friend. She bedazzles the boxes, includes photos and spends energy making the PR look like it’s from a human, not a brand. Every influencer who has posted about her has mentioned the packaging.

| Matrescence: The Science Behind Why Motherhood Might Make You a Better Founder ft. Michelle Battersby | 24 Mar 2026 | 00:47:32 | |
Matrescence is the psychological, emotional and physical transformation your brain goes through when you become a mother. It's the most profound rewiring ever observed in an adult human brain. It's also not in the dictionary.
This week Jasmine sits down with Michelle Battersby, former CMO and cofounder of Sunroom (built and sold in under 5 years) and now President at Peanut, the world's largest online community for moms, to talk about the viral campaign that got the whole internet talking and why matrescence might be the most important word female founders have never heard.
Michelle was also the seventh employee at Bumble and one of the people who helped the app become what it is today. We asked her to walk through the exact steps she took to launch Bumble into new markets (open your notes app!).
She gets into everything, including the mistakes she made with early hires and agency spending, how she built her personal brand when showing up online terrified her, and what she learned scaling and exiting Sunroom that she wishes someone had told her earlier. This is the conversation for every woman trying to build something big while figuring out what becoming a mother actually does to you.
Motherhood and ambition don't just coexist, they fuel each other. Michelle is proof of that. This one's a good one, business besties.
