Episode 02 – Un-jargoned Brain Facts

mercredi 15 janvier 2025Durée 17:17

EPISODE SUMMARY:

This episode will cover some brain facts that will enlighten you what an amazing and powerful physical organ our brain is.

Some of the facts covered may be better known than others, but all of them are well worth knowing – or at least being aware of..

The brain is occasionally compared to the CPU of a computer, which may be relevant as far as we look at the brain as the command and control centre of the body, and it comes with some incredible features and capabilities.

I titled the episode “Un-jargoned Brain Facts” as I was aiming to keep the number of “technical terms” low to make everything a bit easier to understand.

Episode 01 – The Internal Warning System

mercredi 15 janvier 2025Durée 13:09

EPISODE SUMMARY:

The first episode is about our Internal Warning System, the Amygdala and how it influences our brain and mind. It has evolved over many millennia to warn us of danger but often is a bit too hypersensitive when we enter new situations or are faced with change.

The episode will help you understand the processes that happen in our brain when we are faced with change, unfamiliar situations or people and at times of danger.

It also offers some tools and techniques to apply to calm the mind prior to or during times of change or uncertainty to empower us to embrace the new and the unfamiliar as our brain does need stimulation through activities and new experiences.

KEY TAKEAWAYS:

·              Our Internal Warning System: the Amygdala – historical background

·              What happens in the brain when we encounter anything new or unfamiliar

·              The influence of the mind on the brain in new and unfamiliar situations

·              What happens in the brain when we start new things or face unfamiliar situations
