Porn Bans, Influencer Scams, $50M Bras & Oenone's Big News...23 Oct 202601:30:15

Pop open the EIChampagne - we have the best news ever for you hehehehehe!!!

This week we’ve all been loving the big news from Oenone HQ - and no, it’s not that she has been double fisting aliens on her way to New York.

Today, we’re going to fill you in on all the week’s headlines, including unrest in France, the trial of Russell Brand and rumours surrounding the Celeb Traitors cast.

From 6th November, Porn showing choking or incest will be banned in the UK. We discuss the impact of the ban and why some people are questioning how effective it may be.

The Victoria’s Secret Fashion show returned this week - featuring Kylie Jenner in a $50 million bra. Why do we feel so drawn to the VS show? And how has Victoria’s Secret managed to shake off controversy of the past? And in other Kardashian news, Khloe Kardashian’s brand has been caught up in some niche nano-influencer drama.

Stay tuned until the end of the podcast to hear the big news - we’re all giddy with excitement!

Love you loads, make sure you’ve followed us, subscribed to the review, left a review and we’ll see you next week. O, R, B x

Dear EICorrespondents…

Oenone’s about to jet off to NYC to see if she can get cast in the Girls reboot (!!) but before then we have a week of delicious content to feast on…

Beth is back on her Bond Business, Ruchira is continuing her horror quest and Oenone’s been loving everything Larsson.

We’ve also been treated to some exquisite internet nonsense as Kelly Clarkson has reignited a lost art... complaining about customer service on main. What doesn’t kill you really make you stronger... or something?

Next up- a Reddit forum has given us hope that there might be a way out of the male loneliness epidemic via the kitchen.

And finally- all of us have been enjoying Netflix’s adaptation of John Steinbeck’s East Of Eden. We’re all discovering the story for the first time and so we want to hear from all of the Steinbeck-heads at home. Is the adaptation living up to its promise? Any notes/gripes or compliments to share?

Thank you so much as always for supporting the podcast - make sure you’re subscribed, leave us a review and give us a follow. We appreciate you! Love, O, R, B xx

Celebrity Traitors, Adéla Supremacy & Gen Z's Me Too Moment09 Oct 202601:08:42

Hello EIClaudiaWinklemans….

Your diva chaperones are back to guide you through this week in pop culture.

This week we’ve all been loving movies… from Sheep Detectives to horror classics - we have not left any genres untouched.

The Sad Girl community has been celebrating this week - as the Primavera Sound 2027 line-up has been released, and it’s a real feast of gorgeous gloomy pop girlies. Will we (three non-festival gals) be tempted to attend? And how will festivals adapt to the extreme weather conditions we’ve seen as a result of climate change?

Sofa season is officially here - we’re deep into the second series of The Celebrity Traitors. And don’t worry - this episode was recorded before episode three was released, so we are (mostly) spoiler-free. And can someone tell us who is making all these James Acaster horny edits?

Lastly, we discuss Gen Z’s Me Too Moment - the Cornell 7. As a content warning, we will be discussing the case as the final item in the podcast, so feel free to leave us there if that’s what’s best for you.

And… James Blunt - if you’re listening, please get in touch!

We love you - thank you for supporting the podcast, and we’ll see you next week. Love, O, R, B x

Hypercritical Swifties, The Love Hypothesis & Toxic Leftists At The Lesbian Bar02 Oct 202601:08:53

Hello EICurmudgeons…

In the midst of some sitcom-worthy activities in our personal lives, we’re back with another episode breaking down the biggest- and weirdest- pop culture stories.

We’re heading to the Congo Basin (not literally, we hope) as British survivalist Ash Dykes prepares to embark on a 700km kayak expedition down the Sangha river.

With equal peril we’ve also decided to discuss Taylor Swift. Should we be applauding the encore to The Life Of A Showgirl? And why are her four new tracks leaving a sour taste in the mouths of some of her die-hard fans?

We break down our fashion highs and lows from the VMAs, before giving our takes on the mask-only lesbian bar that broke the internet.

As always thank you so much for supporting our independent podcast. We'd also love if you could subscribe to the show on your podcast player, leave a review/rating & follow us on Instagram, TikTok and now Substack. Love you! O, R, B x

This week Beth's been loving The Love Hypothesis, Ruchira's been loving Dog Day Afternoon & Oenone's been loving Younger, Have You Tried Unplugging The AI & this episode of the Ezra Klein Show.

Channing Tatum's Burner, Kylie Jenner's Jet & Stalker Mums 25 Sep 202601:06:19

Hello EICucumbers…

We’re all back and we’ve peeled Beth away from Vanderpump Rules to record this week’s episode of the podcast for you…

We’re piling in on the internet’s hot debate of the week - is it unprofessional to bring an iced coffee to a job interview? Matcha girls, prepare to be outraged… because we have strong opinions on this one.

EmRata has joined the ever growing list of celebrities advertising the prediction market PolyMarket. Does everyone have a price? We discuss how - when it comes to prediction markets - almost everyone loses.

Oenone’s been within touching distance of Sharon Horgan this week - we swoon over her and take a look at her new series Youth.

And - the mums are on SnapMaps… would you let your parents track you at Freshers Week? A mum has gone viral this week for detailing how she spies on her teenage son in a piece for The Times. We examine the dangers of surveillance and how location trackers may do more harm than good.

Stick around to the end of the episode to hear an announcement about our future plans for the podcast. Thank you so much for your support - whether that’s listening every week, contributing, following us or leaving a review… we appreciate you all. Love ya, O, R, B x

Everything In Conversation: The Millennial Fear Of Phone Calls23 Sep 202600:26:34

Pick up, EICallers… It’s your favourite podcast calling!

In this week’s Everything In Conversation, we’re asking: is cold calling your friends the answer to sustaining a healthy friendship?

In response to a new Cut piece by Kathleen Walsh titled ‘I Should Be Allowed to Cold-Call My Friends’, we’re pondering how and why we seem to be so averse to calling our friends out of the blue to have a good old natter.

We consider all the benefits of phone calls, what we might be missing on without them, and discuss some ways to make a cold-call less anxiety-inducing.

This is an independent podcast and the best ways you can support us are giving us a follow on your podcast player, dropping a review and following us on Instagram, TikTok and now Substack. Thank you for being here, and we’ll see you next week. Love, O, R, B x

Macklemore vs. Ed Sheeran, AI Extinction & The Sex Purge i.e. One Night Only 18 Sep 202601:00:46

Hello EICave Divers…

It’s been a WEEK of bizarre stories and we’re here to (attempt to) guide you through them…

In the wake of the news that all of Ed Sheeran’s support acts have quit his tour in solidarity with Macklemore and the Palestinian people, we discuss the power of taking a stand in the face of billionaires.

The HYROX Poo has been everywhere across our timelines this week. How well has the sport responded to this PR disaster? And what does this expose about the culture around HYROX? Meanwhile, another shitstorm (sorry) has been brewing around Sydney Sweeney - who has posed nearly-nude to advertise a sports prediction market. Have we come to expect this from her? What the hell is happening at Sweeney HQ?

It’s the question we’ve all been asking this week: is AI really on track to kill us all within a decade? Jacob Coxon, former AI researcher at Anthropic who previously also worked at Open AI went viral earlier this month when he shared a post on X saying he’d resigned from the company over safety fears and that time is running out to ensure AI is safe. Before we get swept up in the panic, we’ve consulted several tech experts’ analysis and fact checks to try and wade through it all…

And last up - we’ve been to see One Night Only, a new rom-com – or dystopian thriller depending on your reading which explores what it would be like if pre-martial sex was outlawed and singles only had one night to f to their genitals’ galore. Let’s just say, opinions are mixed within the team…

Make sure you’re subscribed and please leave us a review, it’s the best way you can support our independent podcast. Enjoy the ep and we’ll see you next week. Love, O, R, B xx

Everything In Conversation: The Eerie Adultification of North West16 Sep 202600:25:33

Hello EICritters…

In today’s Everything In Conversation - we’re discussing North West.

In August of this year, Dazed released images of their Autumn 2026 issue, which features North, the 13-year-old daughter of reality TV star, brand owner and actress Kim Kardashian and musician Kanye West, as their cover star.

When we’ve spoken about North on EIC previously, we uniformly agreed that there was something about her music career that doesn’t sit right with us: a recently turned 13-year-old performing at festivals, travelling to events without her parents, being filmed and photographed by thousands of people at a time and being swarmed by paparazzi.

Now her words, opinions and thoughts have been written up in media written for and by adults. Are we right to feel uneasy about this? Is this any different from the careers of the child stars from our youth? And is this a sign of things to come for the future of the children of the Kardashian dynasty?

Make sure you’re following us on Instagram for your chance to weigh in and give us your opinions in future episodes. Love you - enjoy the ep! O, R, B x

Alix Earle's Reality TV Debut, SNL UK Returns & Is Glastonbury Too Expensive Now?11 Sep 202601:01:59

Hello EICowboys…

It’s Beth and Ruchira steering good ship EIC this week as Oenone is taking a little break. Ruchira is turbo jet-lagged, and Beth is in a post-Cornwall haze… perfect podcasting conditions all round tbh.

We catch up about Ruchira’s trip to the Big Apple and Beth has FINALLY seen The Odyssey. Was her teenage classist self impressed with Nolan’s interpretation of Homer’s epic?

We fill you in on all the news from a week FULL of pop culture news and give you a hopeful look ahead at the TV coming our way this autumn that will hopefully keep the SAD at bay.

And a new reality TV family has hit the scene - The Earles… 25-year-old American social media celebrity Alix Earle and her family star in new Netflix reality series Earle Meets World. Do we have space in our hearts for a new reality family or are they 20 years too late?

As always, leave us a review wherever you get your podcasts - it’s the best way you can support our independent podcast. Enjoy the episode, and we’ll see you next time. Love, O, R, B x

Everything In Conversation: Is Smoking "Chic"?09 Sep 202600:30:38

Hello EICiggies,

Is smoking cool again? Was it ever?

With smoking once again at the epicentre of celebrity chic we asked YOU whether or not you think people are picking up their lighters and throwing away their cares. And if so, are we experiencing a trickle down from celebs which is reversing decades of public health campaigns?

We also reflect on our own relationships with smoking, how our attitudes towards smoking have changed through the years and how smoking has come to re-enter the mainstream.

It’s the comeback that none of us expected. Can we attribute the rise of smoking as an aesthetic marker to a resistance to wellness, a natural bedfellow to the rise of diet culture - or are the famous people to blame? We consider the measures that can be put in place to stop it.

Hope you enjoy the episode and as always, please rate, review follow, subscribe and share the show. We're an indie podcast and it means the world & helps us keep going. O, R, B x

Influencer Special: No Influencers Allowed, Creator MLMs & The Age Of Rage(bait)04 Sep 202600:53:49

Hi EICelebrities…

Today’s we’re #gifting you an influencer special. Once the guardians of the internet, are we now experiencing a rising tide of anti-influencer angst? Is it sexist to find them annoying? And just how relevant are they any more?

First up we share the creators and influencers who we love to follow. Ruchira loves following Navy Ahluwalia (@naviahluwalia) & Savannah Sachdev (@savannahsachdev), Oenone loves following Veronika Slowikowska (@veronika_iscool) and Beth loves following Melissa Holdbrook-Akposoe (@melissaswardrobe) and Jack & Ash (@jackremmington & @ashholme).

Then: is hating influencers a socially acceptable way to hate women? After a shop sign in America reading "no influencers" went viral, popular influencer Levi Coralynn argued that anti-influencer sentiment is often a vehicle for misogyny. We ask why female creators do seem to get pigeonholed and flattened by the term ‘influencer’ when men are allowed to label themselves in far more varied ways online? And is some of the criticism aimed at influencers fair?

Next: are we in a style influencer recession? Hermes unboxing videos and videos of them grabbing a matcha pre-pilates aren’t garnering the same 7 figure viewership anymore, "forcing" increasing numbers of influencers to pivot to making low level ragebait to engage new audiences. In response to this, are we seeing more desire for intellectual and paywalled content on platforms such as Substack? Is it time for us to become ragebaiters or should we all go and touch grass?

Finally: the latest influencer pivot seems to be teaching others how to influence. Is this an MLM or a natural career progression for a creator?

Thanks so much for supporting out independent podcast! We hope you've loved listening. If so, please do follow us on Instagram and TikTok @everythingiscontentpod. We're also now on Substack- expect essays, deep dives & even more pop culture recs!

Everything In Conversation: The (Katie) Price Of Fame02 Sep 202600:31:33

Hi there EICrocodiles!

Today’s bonus episode is dedicated to the myth, the legend… Jordan AKA The Pricey AKA Katie Price.

In July, Louis Theroux’s production company released a four-part documentary series offering a retrospective on the 30 years Price has spent in the public eye, and reflecting on the fallout of living a life seemingly dedicated to headline culture.

For some she’s a a national treasure, an icon of the 90s and 00s and a fixture of British culture. Others criticise her for a history of questionable behaviour.

In this episode we dive into the picture painted of Katie Price in this docuseries, how she has bounced back after a series of traumas and scandals, and why our soft spot doesn’t seem to want to go away.

Was Katie Price the original Molly-Mae? Are we willing to set aside her scandals for entertainment value? Is this just a woman processing trauma?

Katie Price: Nothing To Hide is available on NOW TV and Sky Documentaries.

Thank you SO much for all of your takes and opinions on this topic. We love being in conversation with you! O,R,B. xoxoxoxo

Are You Wearing The... The Chanel Barefoot Shoe? Amanda Knox Is A Comedian & Megxit's OVER Meg's IN28 Aug 202601:05:51

Hello EICriminals!

Today, we’re taking a stroll down bonkers alley to answer the question that you’ve all been asking… when is a shoe not a shoe? We’re really living in a foot guy’s world rn…

We share our heartache following the death of Dolly Parton and reflect on the incredible legacy she’s left behind. Keep your ears peeled for Beth’s *very* special tribute.

Are you kinda sick of kinda chic? The trend that we’ve all been seeing ALL over our feeds this summer has got us wondering… is there any room for creativity online when creators are rewarded for replicating content?

We also discuss Amanda Knox and her Edinburgh Fringe show. Why has her show sparked such a debate? Does she have the right to tell her story and what moral obligations does she have? We discuss the case and details of the trial in the second segment, if this is something you may not wish to hear please do skip that segment.

Meanwhile: is Marc Jacobs going to style Luigi Mangione for his upcoming New York State murder trial? We discuss our favourite courtroom style moments. And lastly… Megxit is over and YouGov is asking “do you care?”. Meghan, if you’re listening… you’re very welcome to come on the podcast.

Enjoy the ep! Love O, R, B x

Everything In Conversation: Agony Aunts, Love Stories & Saying The Thing26 Aug 202600:38:21

Hello EICrushes!

This week's episode is brought to you by Hinge, who are helping us to get deep into discussions about romantic advice, taking risks in love and 'saying the thing' (whatever that thing may be).

First up we're chatting about dating advice. Where does the impulse come from to seek it and give it, who do we personally trust and can advice still be helpful even if you don't take it?

Next up we discuss Hinge's newly released No Ordinary Love audiobook- the third iteration of the series. Five stories, written by five amazing authors about five real Hinge couples who all took a risk. We also talk about our own big leaps- Oenone in getting back with an ex, Beth in asking for what she wanted and Ruchira in sharing her fears with her now husband.

And then finally we read out your dating takes and dilemmas- fizzling fears, advice skepticism and more!

Thank you all so much for listening and to Hinge for sponsoring this episode! We can't wait to hear about your favourite stories from the No Ordinary Love series, so consider our DMs wide open for any and all thoughts, feelings & opinions. We LOVE being in conversation with you all.

AI Gae Guy, Literary Witch Hunts & Media Hounding21 Aug 202600:57:26

Hello EICroquettes!

We are so back and Oenone has fallen for a new conspiracy, it’s like we’ve never been away.

We’re bursting to the seams with two weeks of what we’ve been loving: from memes to literature - as always, we’re across it all.

Enemy of the pod Sam Altman has found himself as the subject of a hilarious (and believable to some) series of memes created by Frosted Jake. Is this the ultimate punch up? Or did Frosted Jake inadvertently create a pitch perfect ChatGPT ad?

Once again, the world of literature has been dominated with discourse around AI use in publishing. Have we ushered in a new era of AI witch-hunts? And why are non-white authors being disproportionately targeted?

We also discuss the tragic news of Dr Jason Arday’s death and consider the responsibility of the media’s reporting around it. We know that this is an upsetting topic - so we just want to give you a heads up that this comes at the end of the episode.

Have you been at the Edinburgh Fringe? DM us with your dispatches: we want to hear about the best shows, your favourite new talents, and if any of you saw Amanda Knox’s show.

Yesteryear, Tradwife Propaganda & Nara Smith with Caro Claire Burke (Rerelease)14 Aug 202600:44:44

Hello EICritics, earlier this year we had the pleasure of speaking with author and podcaster, Caro Claire Burke. Since then the book has only grown in popularity and sales. It really has been the book of 2026.

A quick synopsis of Yesteryear: Natalie is a trad wife influencer with hundreds of thousands of followers. As far as her audience knows, Natalie loves her farmhouse, her well-behaved children, making sourdough from scratch and her perfect husband Caleb. But behind the scenes of her Instagram content, everything is very, very different.

Then, one morning, Natalie wakes up in the 1800s. Her phone, her assistants, they’re all gone. Is it a hoax? A reality show? A test from God? Natalie just knows she has to escape. And don't worry – no spoilers!

We loved speaking with her and hope you enjoy catching up on the interview after you've hopefully read the book!

PCOS, Fertility & Freezing Your Eggs (Rerelease)12 Aug 202600:35:17

Happy Wednesday! As you'll no doubt know by now, the three of us have been off the EIClock for the last couple of weeks for our yearly break- and we've been using the opportunity to dig through the archives and re-release some old favs, all timers & under-appreciated gems.

This week we're going back two years to when the three of us got to together to discuss fertility, PCOS and egg freezing. Back in 2024 the actress Florence Pugh opened up about having her endometriosis diagnosis dismissed by a doctor and it made us want to dive deeper into women's healthcare. Why do so many of us feel alone, in pain and under-informed when it comes to what is happening with our reproductive and gynaecological care? We share all of our thoughts and yours.

Thank you a million for listening and for being so open with us about an enormously important issue. Follow us on Instagram @everythingiscontentpod so you can be involved in all future discussions.

See you Friday for our final re-record- and then we'll be BACK the week after with brand new content! Yay!

Ageing & The Pursuit of Youth (Rerelease)07 Aug 202600:56:53

Hello EICucumbers, we have another gem from the archive. This is the accompanying episode to our double beauty special from 2024.

Has much changed in two years? It feels like the pursuit of youth has only become more ubiquitous since then, but rather than replacing thinness, that old chestnut has also come back to haunt us all. Can you believe the impact of GLP-1s is just two years? It's quite something...

We'd love to hear your thoughts on the themes that still ring true and the ones that have already evolved since this first came out. We're very naughty and still check DMs and Spotify comments despite being OOO, so please do keep messaging in <3 Love O,R,B xxxx

Celibacy, 4B & Our Hot Girl Summers 05 Aug 202601:08:52

Hello EICorn-Cobs! Happy hump day! As we mentioned last week we're on a rare (but needed!) summer break from the podcast, and using this time to dig into the archive and rerelease some gems from 2024. This week is a return to a deep dive episode where we talked about our previous Hot Girl summers and the impact of the cost of living crisis on romance. How are we meant to find the loves of our lives when a second round of drinks is out of budget? Plus, we discuss a rise in celibacy. If Julia Fox and Lenny Kravitz are doing it, maybe we should be doing it too? And finally we’re asking the important questions about dating apps. Are they terrible? Why are they terrible? And what can we do to stop them making *us* feel terrible?

Thanks so much for listening/re-listening! We're an indie pod which means that the three of us do absolutely everything for the show from picking topics, researching, writing show notes, emailing guests, chatting with you lovely listeners, editing, producing, sound mixing... the lot! And it's because of you all that it's possible. We'll be back with brand new eps on the 19th of August!

Lots of love B, R, O x

Makeovers & Glow Ups In Pop Culture (Rerelease)31 Jul 202600:57:33

EIChow Chows, we have a lovely throwback episode for you.

Real EIC stans will remember we did our first-ever double episode on beauty two years ago! From Andy’s bangs in The Devil Wears Prada to Trinny and Susannah, glow ups were the most exciting film trope millennials like us grew up on. But how does it feel when we're all now looking at our reflections like a before image thanks to social media, the rise of cosmetic work and celeb transformations off the screen?

We'd love to hear your thoughts on the ep. We're all naughty and check DM's and Spotify comments, even when we're OOO. Love O,R,B xxxxx

Everything In Conversation: Is Instagram Doomed?29 Jul 202600:15:49

Hello EIContent-obsessives – would you pay £3.19 a month to see how many times your crush viewed your story? Well, now you can! Introducing Instagram Plus!

Instagram Plus is the new optional monthly subscription that unlocks exclusive customisation and insights on the platform, including 48-hour story extensions, anonymous story viewing, and rewatch counts. Instagram claims this is to give us users "more of what we love".

But in a piece for The Atlantic, Annie Joy Williams writes: "If what you love is the ability to more conveniently keep tabs on crushes or enemies, by which I mean torture yourself, then Instagram nailed it. Instagram Plus is social media’s newest low—a company preying on our most pathetic impulses, for the price of a small iced coffee."

This week's extra episode dives into what users really want from the app, tech bros' fixation with offering a poor product and the future of living life online.

Beth-stans – we're sorry, our beloved was on hol this week, so Oenone and Ruchira took this one on. Also, the group are taking a well-deserved two-week break to rest and come back stronger. In the meantime, we'll be sharing some old fave episodes to sink your teeth into. See you very soon <3 love O, R, B xxx

The Odyssey, Cancelled Women & Caroline Calloway's Return24 Jul 202600:52:40

Hello EIC, this week we're taking a look at the return of two cancelled women from pop culture.

Also we are very sorry for any audio issues. We were blessed to be recording IRL at the Homewood Hotel and Spa (tysm to them!).

Influencer, author and infamous 'scammer' Caroline Calloway made a public return to discourse last week with a new piece detailing her experience on Ozempic. Known for flower crowns, long IG captions in the 2010s and a viral creativity workshop where she charged hundreds of dollars for sharing her own posts, Calloway's essay sparked a big discussion around GLP-1s and the usefulness of weight loss transparency in 2026.

Next up, Olivia Wilde is back on a press run, and this one looks very different to her last. The director and actor has risen from the discourse ashes after Don't Worry Darling to critical fanfare and high praise for her latest film, The Invite. We take a look at her recent interviews, the film and the wildly (sorry) different response to her and her talent this time round.

Thank you so much for listening to us this week! Love O,R,B xxx

Everything In Conversation: Is Being A Bitch The Cure To Chronic Illness?22 Jul 202600:21:25

Hello EIClique! This week we're asking, is the secret to good health, being a bitch, actually?

In a piece titled ‘“Be a bitch or develop an autoimmune disease”, Sheya Kurian writes, ‘The internet’s latest health theory isn’t backed by science, but its popularity reveals how many women are exhausted by their own pleasantness’. The theory is everywhere on TikTok and Instagram, posts and testimonials racking up hundreds of thousands of views argue that years of people-pleasing, conflict-avoidance, and suppressed anger eventually show up in the body as eczema, hives, flare-ups, you name it.

As Kurian writes in the piece, no doctor is prescribing "stand up to your annoying coworker" as treatment, however, there's obviously a reason that so many women resonate with it as an idea: research does link chronic stress to inflammation and immune dysregulation, and women are disproportionately affected by autoimmune disease.

What do we make of this latest internet craze? Listen and find out!

We hope you enjoy, as always please rate, review, follow & share the show :) love ya, O,R,B. xxoxoxoxo

Em Rata x Postpartum Sex, Co-Parenting With ChatGPT & Choosing Your "Mum Aesthetic"17 Jul 202600:58:31

Hello beloved EIChilden! This week we're your committed content matriarchs, bringing you a special episode all about mothers, mothering and motherhood.

We start the episode discussing a recent essay in The Cut by actor, model and author Emily Ratajkowski where she explores her post-baby/post-divorce sex life. Is her tale of degradation, millennial men and going from dimly lit bar to baby bedtime aspirational or just plain un-relatable?

Then we move on to the pressure to subscribe to a particular mum-aesthetic- butter moms, analogue moms, tuscan moms, gentle moms... the list goes on and only gets more exhausting. Is this slop or a way for women to retain identity after giving birth?

And finally- could ChatGPT actually be an effective coparent? Female business-owners and AI companies are banking on it, investing big in AI technology that helps mums keep on top of the mental load of parenting. We take a closer and more critical look.

Thank you so much for listening! We'll see you as always next Wednesday!

O, R, B x

Oenone's favourite depiction of motherhood is in The Gilmore Girls, Ruchira's a sucker for Everything Everywhere All at Once (2022) and Never Have I Ever and Beth thinks motherhood is best depicted in Lady Bird (2017) and The Babadook (2014).

WAGs, Man Bags & Which Footballer Gifted An Orgy To His Dad? With Jack Rivllin 10 Jul 202601:08:23

Hey EIChampions 🏆 ! Come and take an EIC-style spin 🚗 around the football ⚽️ block: it's the World Cup's world 🌍 & we're all just living in it, baby 💋. (It's coming home FYI.)

This week on the podcast we are without Ruchira, who is currently on honeymoon. She’ll be back in a couple of weeks and we’ll do a big wedding debrief then- but for this episode, as you will hear, we are joined by Jack Rivlin from The Upshot podcast! The show where he, alongside Zach Sweeney Lynch, covers brilliantly funny sports stories - everything from drunken dressing-room escapades to deep dives into famous sports personalities and their scandalous lives. Their current world cup coverage is also absolutely unmissable.

First up, we give our predictions for Saturday's game, recommend our favourite animals to get betting advice from, and discuss the hottest football managers (spoiler: it's all of them).

Then we talk about something messy- no, not Lionel - but ongoing allegations towards FIFA of corruption, US favouritism and collusion with Donald Trump. Perhaps the biggest recent example of this was the decision to rescind a red card suspension of US player Folarin Balogun and allow him to play in a last-16 match earlier this week against Belgium. As Jack calls it, it's a 'love-in' between Trump & Infantino.

Next up, we're sure everyone knows what a WAG is- but in case you’re waking up from a 30-year coma- it’s a term meaning 'Wives And Girlfriends', usually attributed to the partners of professional footballers. The origin of the term is somewhat disputed- some say it was christened in 2002 with coverage of teenage Colleen after Wayne Rooney’s first Premier League goal, others say it goes back even further to the infamous purple-outfitted Posh & Beck’s wedding of 1999. We reminisce on the best to ever do it!

And lastly, some salacious stories from some of the most famous men in sport! Plus lots of meandering, philandering, Haaland-pandering, tangents in the middle!

We hope you enjoy ☺️ , as always please do rate, review, and follow the show!

And share with your friends!

And leave a Spotify comment!

Love you, byeeeeeeeeeee.

Everything In Conversation: Meta Glasses, Perverts & Privacy Vs. Content08 Jul 202600:25:13

Hello EICustard Creams! For this week's bonus we're discussing the ethics of wearing or owning smart glasses. It's a tech that has existed in various forms for over a decade, first with Google Glass, then Apple’s Vision Pro, which caused concern on release for featuring twelve cameras, six microphones and two depth sensors. And now Meta, along with other big tech giants, are expanding their own smart glass collections, ponying up for huge celebrity endorsements and seeking to normalise the tech for everyday wear. With your help- we discuss.

Thanks so much for your takes on this topic. We love love love being In Conversation with you all!

Bimbo Stoicism, Gwyneth Paltrow's Controversies & Steamy Scenes In Off Campus 03 Jul 202600:49:40

Hello ‘ello EICrashouts!

Happy Friday but even more importantly- happy wedding day to our beloved Ruchira! If you’ve not sorted your wedding gift yet don’t fret. The bride and groom have requested 5 star ratings and gorgeous reviews for the pod.

Onto the episode…

First up we’re discussing a truly bonkers run of celebrity endorsements. Timothée Chalamet for controversial prediction market Kalshi, his partner Kylie Jenner shilling Meta’s new Starfire AI glasses and Gwyneth Paltrow advertising luxury real estate in Israel… are some celebrities too famous for consequences? And how fat were those paycheques?

Next up a new philosophy on the block- Bimbo Stoicism. Described as “a viral internet subculture that blends ancient Stoic emotional detachment with hyper-feminine, reclaimed "bimbo" aesthetics” with “a core philosophy encouraging women to reject rigid patriarchal beauty hierarchies and embrace self-acceptance by identifying with a "twin animal" that matches their natural features and demeanour.” Word salad or a chance to escape a lifetime of female-coded suffering?

And finally: a steamy streamer to heatedly rival Heated Rivalry: Off Campus on Amazon Prime. Adapted from a book series of the same name by Elle Kennedy, the series is set at the fictional Briar University and follows music student Hannah Wells as she makes a deal with star hockey player and team captain Garrett Graham to start a fake relationship in exchange for her tutoring him. Perfect horny show or just a load of old fluff? One of us hated it, the other two have taste. No spoilers!

Thanks so much for listening! You can follow us @everythingiscontentpod for behind the scenes content and to help us decide future topics.

Everything In Conversation: Bringing Back 'Queenie' With Candice Carty-Williams01 Jul 202600:43:46

Hello EICherries 🍒 This week is a very special author episode with the incredibly talented and successful Candice Carty-Williams.

It was an honour to speak to her about her highly anticipated sequel to the beloved Queenie – her debut novel exploring the highs and lows of a 20-something young Black woman. She was very open about the struggles of adapting the story for TV; why she decided to bring the character back now; chosen families, and her experience of productivity pressure and desperately needing to switch off.

We loved speaking with her. Please do give us a rating or a Spotify comment on any topics we discussed, as we'd love to hear from you <3

Anne Hathaway Pregnancy Discourse, Unbearable Heatwaves & Gen Bedroom26 Jun 202600:55:34

Hello EIClimate worriers, we're back with a new episode spanning heatwaves, hot wedding fashion and a temperature check on Gen Z's futures.

First up, our dear, dear friend Dua got married recently and kindly shared *the* dress publicly last weekend. Was it an EIC slay or nay? Find out. We also wade into the most ridiculous discourse we've ever encountered, arguably – all centred on Anne Hathaway's pregnancy.

Then there's only one subject on the UK's mind right now: heatwave. We dive into the frustrating and unreasonable online discourse around the climate. And finally, Generation Bedroom. No, these aren't fun teens sleeping in; they're a generation of unemployed, disenfranchised young people pushed out of jobs and entering the world.

Thank you for listening to us this week! Remember to keep hydrated and stay safe in the heat. Love O,R.B xoxo

This week Ruchira watched The Alien Autopsy Scandal and read I Who Have Never Known Men. Oenone loved Legends, Rivals s2 & The Harry Styles tour (as did Beth). Beth also recommended Fantastic Mr Fox.

Everything In Conversation: Taste, Tasteslop & Tabis 24 Jun 202600:30:44

Hello EIChloe Sevignys, this week, one of the big cultural talking points is can AI ever replicate taste? And should we all be actively protecting our own, regardless of how good or bad it is?

In March, Kyle Chayka wrote a piece for The New Yorker titled: Why Tech Bros Are Now Obsessed with Taste. In it, he quoted several key tech figures who present taste as the final frontier for AI tech bros - almost like the one human trait they’re finding impossible to replicate.

In May, Trend forecaster and founder of the strategy firm Nemesis Global, Emily Segal, coined the term “tasteslop” to describe the repetitive, recycled visuals littering the internet that feel devoid of any human point of view, almost like gorgeous blandness. Lots of it, she points out, feels like this because it’s generated by AI and then replicated over and over.

And of course, last week, Polyester released ‘The Polyester Book of Bad Taste’, a collection of essays edited by its editor-in-chief Ione Gamble. The book is described as an antidote to ever-creeping homogeneity and bland tastefulness. “In a world constantly vying for our attention, having faith in your own (bad) taste is more than a small subversion – it's a rallying cry to live our lives unapologetically.”

We talk all things taste, with your help! Thank you so much for all of your takes on this topic we love being in conversation with you all! O, R, B xx

Everything In Conversation: Novel Writing, Men Who Won't Grow Up & Sally Rooney with Jem Calder17 Jun 202600:45:28

Happy Wednesday EICrickets!

In today's episode we're joined by writer and novelist Jem Calder, whose debut novel I Want You To Be Happy was released last month. The three of us all separately recommended the book on the pod, and we're in good company as fans. Andrew O'Hagan called Jem his "new favourite writer" and Sally Rooney said it was an "irresistible novel that asks complex questions about contemporary life and refuses easy answers. I couldn't stop reading."

The book follows the unfurling, complicated relationship between Chuck, a 35-year-old copywriter working at a large ad agency, and Joey, a 23-year-old barista living payday to payday who nurtures a quiet ambition of becoming a poet.

We talk to Jem about the themes of his novel- don't worry, no spoilers- plus the writing process, what he thinks about modern dating, dating apps, men who refuse to grow up and being "discovered" by Sally Rooney. Plus plenty of book recs & writing advice. Thanks so much for listening! See you Friday! B, O, R x

Hot Girl Trademarks, Anti-Nude Tech & Should EIC Ban Bonnie Blue?12 Jun 202600:53:59

Hello EICrystals! This week on the podcast- shocking sex stunts, digital literary drama, surveillance for safety. Plus: a suspicious vibrating sound, Oenone losing her voice & Ruchira filing paperwork.

First up- provocateur and viral adult creator Bonnie Blue is back in the headlines after turning her baby shower into... well, a very different kind of shower. The 27-year-old has begun releasing footage from Saturday's event, where 112 attendees reportedly took part over the course of six hours. Is this an adult entertainer exercising her bodily autonomy or a huge safeguarding concern for her unborn baby? And are we complicit for covering it? Let us know in the comments/ our DMs if you think this should be the last time we say the words Bonnie or Blue on the pod.

Next up- we know that hot girls read, but do hot girls also file trademarks for widely used phrases they didn't invent? Last week business owner and BookTok creator Allie Mitrovich announced (in a now-deleted post) that she had officially secured the registration for the phrase "Hot Girls Read". We track the backlash, the outcome and ask why everyone online thinks they have to be a business owner.

And finally: UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer has announced that tech companies must introduce in-built software that stops underage users from taking or sharing nudes. Apple and Google have both been given until September to comply or will face legislation to force them to do so. Is this a major win for child safety or a sly attack on all of our most fundamental privacy rights?

We hope you luuuurve today's episode because we luuuurved making it for you. If so, please leave us a rating or a review or share us on social media or in the group chat. O, R, B x

Hasan Piker's UK Ban, Euphoria: Over For Good & Mr and Mrs Lipa05 Jun 202600:52:17

Hello EICornettos! It's been a hefty week in the world of pop culture, so grab a lolly and let's get into it.

Oenone is away at a wedding... very unusual timing because Mr and Mrs Dua Lipa legally tied the knot last week. But the internet had some choice words about the singer's white suit. EIC Fashion Police LTD. are wading through the mess to share our searing hot takes for you.

Ruchira did some on the ground reporting from SXSW, which hit headlines this week after speakers Hasan Piker and Cenk Uygur were barred from entering the UK by the Home Office, who said their "presence would not be conducive to the public good". We dive into the difficult debate around free speech, authoritarianism and our fears of rising antisemitism.

And finally Euphoria 3: Over For Good. Sam Levinson has done what he did, meaning EIC had to do what it does best. We gave our honest reviews and (of course) didn't hold back.

In today’s episode we speak to Maxine Heron. Maxine is the online comms officer at Not a phase a registered, trans-led British grassroots charity dedicated strictly to supporting and uplifting transgender and gender-diverse adults across the UK, as well as being a model, creator, writer and public speaker, and friend of the pod.

A couple of weeks ago, the The Equality and Human Rights Commission (EHRC) ruled that single-sex changing rooms and bathrooms in England, Wales and Scotland must exclude trans people. The guidance issued to public bodies, businesses and other service providers, has been approved by ministers. It’s such a dark time in UK politics, we speak to Maxine about the real world implications on trans people, how we got here, and what we can do to help.

Sending lots of love to every trans person out there, we love you & so do all of our mates. O,R,B xoxoxx

Supercharged Tanning, Supreme Wealth's Reality & Souped Up Athletes 29 May 202601:00:54

Happy Friday EICompetitors! This week on the podcast, what lengths will humans not go to, to feel a little bit special?

First up, a 2025 survey by the American Academy of Dermatology revealed that half of Gen Z participants got a sunburn in 2024, with 10% getting burns severe enough to cause blisters. They also found that 37% didn’t know the risks of tanning and 57% believed common tanning myths- e.g. that a base tan protects you from sunburn. More than a fifth of Gen Z respondents prioritise getting a tan over protecting their skin, and 25% said that it’s worth looking good now even if it means their skin looks worse down the line. Is this just the naivety of youth? Or does it signal something shifting in culture? We talk everything tanning!

Secondly, what does extreme wealth do to the brain? This is the title of a piece for New York magazine by Lane Brown, and the question he tries to answer within it. So Lane Brown you may also remember authored The Feed Is Fake, about stealth marketing online which we discussed in last week’s episode. And for this piece about the ultra-rich, he spent two months interviewing the 0.1 and 0.001% and asking them how money has changed the way they think, how their worldview shifted when they were no longer under the same financial constraints and how becoming mega rich altered their perception of status, friendship, obligation and maybe even reality itself.

And lastly, while we were enhancing the UK bank holiday heatwave with picky bits, day drinking and ice lollies, over in Las Vegas, another kind of enhancement was going on at The Enhanced Games. Is this just inevitable in a world of optimisation? We discuss.

We hope you enjoy, as always please do rate, review and share the show, it helps others to find it and us to keep making it! LY! O,R,B xx

Everything In Conversation: Ozempic, The Death of Body Positivity & The Price Of Pretty With Alex Light27 May 202600:38:50

Happy Wednesday EICreations!

In today's episode we sit down with bestselling author and former host of the brilliant Should I Delete That Alex Light to discuss everything from weight loss jabs to bikini bodies. She also offers invaluable advice on how to limit the impact of social media on kids, raise body positive sons and get through to older generations about their toxic relationship to food and thinness. Alex's new non-fiction book The Price of Pretty is out now, and deftly examines the unbearable and unattainable beauty standards that women are subjected to while also exploring the relationship between a waning body positive movement and the rise of Ozempic and AI. Other topics include motherhood and body image, eating disorder recovery, tweakments, filters and social media.

We loved chatting to Alex and you can follow her on Instagram here!

MAFS Allegations, Harry Styles' Tour Critique & Elon vs. The Odyssey22 May 202600:57:43

Hello EICorroborators! Happy Friday and welcome back to Everything Is Content- your one stop podcast shop for everything pop culture and beyond.

This week- and trigger warning for discussion of sexual violence and abuse- we're discussing BBC Panorama's harrowing new documentary ‘The Dark Side of Married at First Sight' in which former MAFs UK contestant Shona Manderson alleges that her on-screen partner had sex with her without a condom against her wishes. She alleges the team took her to get the morning after pill, but that nothing else was done. The show has pulled all of its episodes from the internet while discussions continue to rage on about how reality TV can't seem to stop failing its subjects. We share our takes as (former) fans of the show.

Next up we're talking about Harry Styles' new tour- which has been criticised after some attendees reported having little to no visibility of their fav as he happily scampered around his enormous walkway stage set-up. Has the singer prioritised his Strava over his set design? We investigate.

Then we mull over Jacob Elordi's love life after the actor was spotted out and about with model and the inventor of tequila, Kendall Jenner. The internet has separated into two camps in response to the possible pairing- people saying "huh??" and people saying "duh...". Plus: Everything In Conversation with... Kylie?

Also (and we're sorry) we chat about Elon Musk's latest MORONIC OUTBURST after the friendless loser suggested that Oscar winning actress and generational beauty Lupita Nyong'o was somehow badly cast as the fictional generational beauty Helen of Troy in Christopher Nolan's upcoming adaptation of Homer's Odyssey. We insult Elon Musk's pathetic existence discuss with consideration for all sides.

And finally we revisit the topic of internet fakery and advertising creep after a new piece in Vulture by Lane Brown suggested that just about everything we see online nowadays has been placed there to sell us something. From the piece: "On social media, popular opinion is being formed, measured, and manipulated all at once, and every signal the platforms produce... can now be fabricated by unseen actors with hidden agendas." In other words... is it time to log off?

This week Ruchira was loving Legends on Netflix and Lost Lambs by Madeline Cash, Oenone was loving Sister Europe by Nell Zink and Beth was loving SNL UK and London Falling by Patrick Radden Keefe.

Thank you SO much for listening, commenting, agreeing, disagreeing, sharing us on socials or leaving us a review. It means the world and really does help us keep making the show. See you Wednesday! O, R, B x

Reform UK's Surge, The Politics of Tourism & Amandaland's Incredible Return15 May 202600:50:28

Hello EICookies, we've got a thought-provoking episode for you this week.

Firstly, we have to discuss the depressing local election results and how we begin to process it and move forward. A Substack essay on the end of the Western earnest tourist our interest on if we'll ever regain the sense of wonder and charm from a path rarely travelled in the age of TikTok travel content, and Google Earth shining a light on every corner, far and wide, on the planet. Finally, she's back: Amanda and her cringy exploits have returned to screens.

Also Beth is back next week, so do not fear our third essential ingredient will be back in the mix ASAP.

Also could we request a lovely review on Apple or Spotify? It's a huge push for the podcast and helps us continue to grow <3

Everything In Conversation: To Voice Note Or Not To Voice Note13 May 202600:22:35

Happy Wednesday EIChatters!

To voice note or not to voice note, that is the question. In a piece for the Independent from the start of the year Helen Coffey explored whether a rise in voice notes has helped kill the art of conversation. She writes that despite being an initial sceptic about voice notes and finding them awkward and less useful than a phone call, she has since come around and become a primary source of communication in her circle.

A 2025 survey commissioned by Sky Mobile found that 62% of voice note recipients had experienced ‘voice note fatigue’, and 20% said they’d personally received a voice note longer than 10 minutes. More than one in ten said they received over 10 voice notes a day, and 44% said they listened at double speed to get through them quicker.

There’s also apparently a geographical element to this that suggests the UK is actually lagging behind other countries in our adoption of recorded messages. A 2024 YouGov survey found that 48% of Indian respondents either preferred receiving voice notes or liked them just as much as texts, compared to just 18% of people in Great Britain.

We dive in with your help!

We hope you enjoy, as always please do rate, review and share us with a friend :) Kisses! O,R,B x

Happy Friday EIContrarians! Beautiful Beth is sunning herself on hols, so Ruchira and Oenone are driving the content car through the winding roads of the World Wide Web discourse.

First up Blake Lively and Justin Baldoni have settled their lawsuit, Britney Spears finds herself in trouble and Celebrity Traitors is back!

Secondly, The Met Gala! One of this year’s biggest themes was Jeff Bezos and wife Lauren Sanchez’ presence at the gala, with rumours the Amazon founder spent $10m to sponsor the event. We get into our fave, and least fave, looks from the evening, and what we made of the event as a whole.

And last but by no means least, 20 years after the original film, The Devil Wears Prada is back! The hotly awaited sequel has had everyone's tongues wagging, including ours.

Everything In Conversation: Tradwife Propaganda, Social Media & Yesteryear With Caro Claire Burke06 May 202600:44:44

Happy Wednesday EIChickadees! What a show we have for you today.

To celebrate the release of her much-hyped debut novel Yesteryear, we sat down with the brilliant Caro Claire Burke to discuss everything from favourite tradwives to the process of selling the film rights to a novel. As well as being a phenomenally talented writer, Caro is also the co-host of Diabolical Lies- one of Ruchira's most recommended podcasts.

And don't worry- no spoilers!

Awkward Engagements, Circumcision Activism & Sheerluxe's AI Influencers 01 May 202600:56:52

Hello EICabbages!

Strap in because today we're taking you on a tour of the most salacious, strange and shocking stories in the news. Russell Brand running for mayor, TERF nonsense in the running space, Hannah Spencer calling out Westminster's drinking culture and a murder used for sexist click bait.

From there we're taking on a topic that depressed us way back in 2024 after UK fashion and lifestyle magazine Sheerluxe introduced yet more AI influencers to its roster, with Brooke, Gigi, and Eden joining their OG AI-fluencer Reem. Comments on their socials are uniformly negative, but Sheerluxe seem undeterred. We discuss.

And last (but not least) we're talking circumcision after The Cut published a piece titled ‘‘The Men Who Want Their Foreskins Back". The story centres on a 30-year-old man who was circumcised as a baby and recently underwent reconstructive penis surgery- plus the thriving online community of men going to lengths to manually "restore" their own foreskins. Not a topic we know much about, but we share what we learned from the piece and how it's shaped our current opinions.

This week Oenone has been loving The Testaments on Disney+, Beef on Netflix, I Just Want You To Be Happy by Jem Calder (out 21st May) and The Cage on BBC iPlayer, Beth has been loving Expectation by Anna Hope and Ruchira has been loving Ex Machina, Search Party on YouTube and (secretly) Temptation Island on Netflix.

Everything In Conversation: The Panic About Fake Fans29 Apr 202600:20:19

Happy extra episode day EICulture critics, this week we're diving into the panic around bots, fake fans and inauthentic musicians.

US rock band Geese were dragged into a PR nightmare when eagle-eyed people noticed Chaotic Good, a digital marketing agency, claimed they were behind the recent meteoric rise of the band thanks to an orchestrated social media campaign. Just how manipualtive are these carefully-crafted popularity pushes, and do they detract from the artists' talent?

Everything In Conversation: Single Woman Tax22 Apr 202600:31:21

Happy Wednesday EICarrot cakes! This week we're tackling, maybe the only downside to being single for women?

Glamour columnist Chante Joseph, known for her viral Boyfriends Are Embarrassing piece, published a recent piece titled ‘Is the ‘single woman tax’ going to cost me my future?’ In it she dives into the very real financial burden of not being coupled up.

In the piece she speaks to Renée Sylvestre-Williams, the author of The Singles Tax: No-Nonsense Financial Advice for Solo Earners, who defines the ‘singles tax’ as the “financial penalty that single people are paying as a result of a society that has primarily focused on ‘the couple’.” She has some galling figures including the fact that retirement costs 44% more than for those in a couple. And if you’re single in London, you’re paying over £20,000 a year on living and lifestyle costs. She links this to the increased Hinge prompts joking about splitting rent and the fact that women are being encouraged to find a 6ft banker to couple up with.

We dissect this dire situation ,with your help! Thank you! We hope you enjoy. O,R,B x

Euphoria, Bieberchella & Celeb Snog Sightings 17 Apr 202600:57:33

Hey EIChameleons, we're back! And so is some questionable TV from Sam Levinson - we get into it, as well as controversial Coachella performances and a little Lena Dunham chat! But we will be discussing Famesick next week so get your copies ready!

Euphoria has returned to our screens, with its cast of characters now having graduated from high school and firmly transplanted 5 years into the future, in the wild, Wild West of the working Adult world. Stephanie Mcneal for Glamour writes, 'as I watched a close up of Sweeney licking water out of a bowl and endured a frankly disgusting scene of Cherry and Zendaya experiencing, let’s say, stomach issues, in a car after swallowing the drugs, I had to stop and ask the question: Who is this show for, exactly?’ - we have the same question!

Next up! Bieberchella! 'Depending on your level of fandom, the stripped-down vision, with minimal audience asides, read as either radically vulnerable or disappointingly self-interested, The effect was both frustrating – would it really kill him to do more than one verse of 2015 anthem Where Are U Now? – and endearing; many tears were shed to the image of the man singing back to his 13-year-old self', writes Adrian Horton for the Guardian.
