#173: Surviving the Burn: Strategies for Overcoming the Urge to Quit Your Business12 May 202300:13:19

In today's episode, we're going to talk about the elephant in the room - the desire to burn your business to the ground and walk away.

I want to start by asking you an honest question: have you ever thought about quitting your business? Have you ever felt overwhelmed, burnt out, or like you just want to give up? If you have, you're not alone. As entrepreneurs, we pour our heart and soul into our businesses, but sometimes things don't go as planned. Sometimes we feel like we're in over our heads, and like we just want to throw in the towel.

Now, I'm not going to pretend like I have it all figured out. I've had these feelings more than once in the past couple of years. But what I do know is that there are ways to cope with the emotional toll that running a business can take on us.

In this episode, we'll explore why these feelings are common among entrepreneurs and what you can do when you experience them. We'll talk about practical steps that you can take to keep your business going, even when you feel like burning it to the ground.

And perhaps most importantly, we'll talk about the importance of having a community of support around you as an entrepreneur. Having people who understand what you're going through, who can celebrate the good days with you and support you through the tough ones, can make all the difference.

So if you've ever felt like giving up on your business, or if you're struggling with overwhelm and burnout, this episode is for you. We'll dive into the tough conversations and explore how to bounce back from wanting to quit your business.

Let's jump into this conversation together!

#172: The Top 5 Sales Objections You'll Hear (and How to Deal with Them Ethically)09 May 202300:14:07

Today, we're going to talk about something that every entrepreneur has faced at some point in their career - sales objections.

The big ugly, “No thanks” that we all end up hearing, but don’t always know how to deal with it when we do.

We're going to break down the top five sales objections and how to handle them, so when you are faced with someone questioning if they want to buy from you or not, you can have a plan in place to turn their “ummmm" into a "heck, yes!”

There are plenty of reasons why your potential customers might say no to you, but these are the most common objections that customers use to reject a sales pitch.

What are they?

"It's too expensive"

"I don't have the time"

"I'm not interested"

"I need to think about it"

"I need to talk to my boss/partner/spouse"

These objections can be frustrating when you hear them, but they are don’t need to be the end of sale for you. With the right approach and the right language, you can handle these objections and turn them into sales.

Grab a pen, your notebook and tune into this episode so you can turn your objections into dollar signs!

#170: Embracing Vulnerability as a Woman in Business05 May 202300:14:02

If you follow me on Instagram, you’ll have heard me talking about the rebranding process that I’m going through with my business.

I hired a branding expert whom I respect so much to lead this process and it’s been really exciting to walk through my dreams, visions and mission for my business.

But if I’m being honest, it’s also been really uncomfortable at times. It’s forced me to really have to look at my business and where I have gaps or misalignment in how I’m showing up for you.

And the biggest one that’s come up, is how I’m all business all the time, and I don’t pull the curtain back enough to show the other side of my life – the personal side…the more vulnerable side…and while my brain knows that I need to get better at this, man do I stink at it.

I have always struggled to blend vulnerability and business together and when I asked you how you felt about the topic, it was a resounding chorus of ME TOO!

So today, I wanted to have a discussion on embracing vulnerability as a woman in business, and take a look at why we struggle with this, and how to show up authentically while still maintaining our professionalism.

You'll hear...

>> How we can break down barriers and embracing vulnerability as women in business
>> My own journey working through unlearning perfectionism and how it's holding me back from showing up in my business
>> Powerful examples of successful female entrepreneurs who have embraced vulnerability and how it has helped them succeed

So let’s do this together…

#156: Is Your Mindset Sabotaging Your Business Success?04 Apr 202300:14:06

How much does mindset actually influence the financial success in your business?

I'm normally not one to talk about mindset on the podcast, but I'm wading into the deep end on this episode of the podcast.

Why is it that some people seem to hit big goals in their business, while others struggle to get traction? Recently I came out of a launch that was very successful, and this question kept bumping around in my mind.

I saw this same pattern in my career and it was usually why I was brought in to fix the problems that existed in other people's businesses. And, now I'm seeing these same patterns playing out in the online space.

It always seems to come down to the same characteristics of the entrepreneur - their habits, mindset and skill set.

We can talk about mission, vision and passion being important to your success all day long...but if you're truly looking to move the needle of your business financially, they aren't the things that will get you there.

The number one thing that will...is your mindset.

Jump into this episode of the show to learn about the 4 different categories of mindset that entrepreneurs fall into and how your thinking can drastically impact your ability to make money.

#142: Tactics to Successfully Re-engage and Win Back Lapsed Customers14 Feb 202300:16:57

One of the most important things in business to remember is that it costs more to acquire a new customer than it does to retain an existing one.

While we spend a lot of time focusing on how to bring new business into our world, we sometimes forget that focusing on re-engaging lapsed customers can increase the sales in our business without having to work as hard or spend as much.

In this episode, I'm breaking down some key tactics to get the attention of past customers who have been giving you the cold shoulder, including...

  • How to define when a customer is lapsed
  • Why tracking data will increase your efforts to understand
  • The best ways to put systems in place to minimize losing customers and keep them engaged with your business

If you're looking for ideas to rekindle the love affair with your past customers, this is the episode for you.

#137: How Stepping Back From Social Media is Making Me More Money27 Jan 202300:17:13

"No one will take you seriously because of the size of your following on social media."

Those were the exact words that an online guru once said to me when I was working so hard to grow my business in this space.

And the thing was...they were right.

It wasn't my Instagram following that made people take me seriously.

It was my podcast.

I've been talking a lot lately on the podcast about why I've been working on stepping back more from using social media to build my business. I know that social media works really well for some people to build their businesses, but for me (and so many of us), that hasn't been my experience.

So I started to take some major steps back from social and the results have been pretty incredible.

First my engagement grew...

and then my revenue followed.

On this episode I'm breaking down how stepping back from social media has increased the sales in my business and how it might do the same for you.
