OPTIMIZING TESTOSTERONE, GROWTH HORMONE AND OTHER METABOLIC HORMONES IN OUR 40S AND BEYOND WITH DR. STEPHANIE ESTIMA
EPISODE SUMMARY
As women, we have so much going on hormonally that it’s essential we understand how to best take care of our bodies. Our metabolism and hormones are constantly changing every single day throughout our menstrual cycle, leading to disturbances throughout multiple systems.
But knowing how our bodies shift through these hormonal phases allows us to leverage our menstrual cycle to its full advantage. We can do this in regard to metabolism, body composition, and so much more– even in perimenopause.
That’s what Dr. Stephanie Estima explains to us in this podcast. We talk about all things metabolic health for women– particularly in perimenopause and menopause when we see a decline in our hormones. This time feels like a roller coaster ride– we don’t really know what’s going to work for us and what’s not. But that’s why understanding your menstrual cycle can help ease these unknown symptoms. And it will help to optimize your health.
Perimenopause comprises close to 50% of a woman’s life! So honoring this time, and understanding the best ways to navigate through this transition is discussed today, too.
Hormonal changes have an impact on sugar metabolism, body composition and so much more. And we need more female-centric protocols so we can best understand how these changing hormones can be handled. Dr. Stephanie Estima takes a deep dive into this lack of information and protocols for perimenopausal and menopausal women. And she offers the guidance we need to be our best selves throughout all of life's changes.
So tune in today for a podcast you won’t want to miss. No matter where you are in your journey, there’s plenty of knowledge to gain from Dr. Stephanie that will help shape your day-to-day– now and through the future!

| 503: The Most Effective Rituals We Can Do to Reduce Anxiety and Perceived Stress with Dr. Tâmara Castelo | 10 Mar 2023 | 00:51:10 | |
Episode Summary
After everything we’ve been through in the past few years, anxiety in our population is at an all-time high. You may have felt it yourself.
Dr. Tâmara Castelo has seen this firsthand with her patients. After over 12 years in her career as a doctor, once the pandemic hit she had to shift her way of working. She needed to figure out the best ways to reduce anxiety in her patients to provide the best support through such a highly stressful time.
As an expert in Chinese medicine, she has tons of experience helping others move out of a state of anxiety. And she helps patients understand how to become more attuned to their bodies. This helps reduce anxiousness, tension, stress, and discomfort.
We often forget to connect with our body or really tap into what our body needs. So often, stress and anxiety can actually present physically in our bodies. Understanding what these physical manifestations mean can help us get to the real root of the problem.
In this podcast, Dr. Castelo teaches us about how our body tries to speak to us when we’re constantly experiencing things like anxiety and perceived stress, pain, or migraines.
She’ll also dive into the discussion of sleep, and how to prioritize it to help manage our physical and mental health. She’ll explain to you the secret to the optimal amount of sleep you should get every night.
If you’ve been dealing with anxiety, migraines, body aches, or stress– this podcast is for you. Dr. Castelo teaches us so much about looking into your body and recognizing what it needs.
You can make these observations of your body through powerful rituals that Dr. Castelo explains further in this show. She goes deeper into this concept in her book The Power of Rituals: Small Habits, Big Changes for your Well-being and Health.
But listen to this podcast now to immediately start implementing these simple and effective rituals to ease your anxiety and improve your life!

Quotes
“When we can understand our bodies, we can really learn how to heal.”
“One of the things that I love so much, especially for women, is rituals that help them to reduce burnout, stress, and anxiety and overwhelm.”
“People think that the overload is when you are going through [an anxiety attack], but it's not actually– it's the effect after that is the problem”
“We’ve got to be more tuned in with our body and especially our physical body– and really connect into that deeper sense of ‘what is going on’. Because that’s going to really support setting in the rituals and doing the things that are really going to support us.”

| Special Episode: Is Toxic Mold Behind Your Hormonal Issues? with Bridgit Danner | 17 Feb 2023 | 00:42:36 | |
If you have ever seen mold growing inside your home, most of the time, there is a larger problem that you need to look into immediately. Surface mold is just the tip of the iceberg and can wreak havoc on any system in the body, which is why it is so important to identify these mycotoxins as soon as possible to save your health and your home.
All Things Mold with Bridgit Danner
Bridgit Danner is a licensed acupuncturist, certified Functional Diagnostic Nutrition Practitioner, and the founder of HormoneDetoxShop.com. After losing everything to toxic mold herself, Bridgit now educates about toxins and how to detoxify your body and home through a functional healthcare approach. She is my go-to expert when it comes to all things mold and is here today to share how your symptoms could be related to micro toxin exposure you might not even know about.
Could Mold Be Causing Your Hormone Symptoms?
Bridgit refers to toxic mold like a roommate that you don't want to have. Toxic mold will continue to grow and emit mycotoxins until it is dealt with for good. While you can't always see it, toxic mold can suppress your immune system, damage your cells, cause cancer and birth defects, impair mitochondrial function and the nervous system, and so much more.
The only way to recover from toxic mold exposure, whether it was recent or long in the past, is to detoxify. If you have been trying everything but still can't shake your symptoms, mold could be to blame.
Daily Detoxification Is Key
Cleansing your home and your system of mycotoxins can take a while. This is why Bridgit recommends going step by step and focusing on the basics in order to detoxify your system. Even if you have not been exposed to toxic mold, the toxins we are all exposed to the daily call for consistent detoxifying habits to help you age well and relieve your symptoms.
Daily detoxification is the key to getting past some of your biggest symptoms. While diagnosing a mold-related illness is critical, there is so much that we can do on a daily basis to detoxify our bodies and feel safe in our homes.
Are you ready to cleanse your body and home from toxic mold exposure? Share your story with me in the comments below! | |||
