60: How a Digital Product Shop Can Help You Expand Your Business and Increase Your Impact with Jennifer Roskamp08 Dec 202200:55:25

In this episode of the Empowered Business podcast, I’m sharing an interview with my dear friend, Jennifer Roskamp. I recently reached out to her and told her that I think her business would be great if she had a digital product shop. Jennifer is a quick action taker, so she did it and now she is here to share all of the amazing success she’s been having with it!

Jennifer Roskamp is a homeschooling mom of 9 and is passionate about helping women and moms put to rest the Instagram ideal of perfection and embrace stepping into reality…which is accepting that achieving perfection is an ideal that NO ONE can meet.

She is the founder and creator of The Intentional Mom where she also works as a money coach, everyday life guide, and a “learn from my mistakes” kind of mentor who isn’t afraid to say she’s not perfect.

Selling is serving, and adding a digital product shop makes it so much easier for you to solve the problems of your audience without sending them to several different landing pages. Jennifer did this for her audience, and now, she is seeing amazing results.

Tune in to learn more about Jennifer’s journey with starting a shop, the benefits of setting up a shop, when to use a landing page, and so much more.

58: 5 Mistakes to Avoid When You Have a Digital Product Shop17 Nov 202200:19:04

I’ve created and launched well over 100 digital products including spreadsheets, website templates, printables, courses, memberships, and more. You name it, we have probably sold it.

However, everything we launched resided on a sales page or a sales funnel. This meant that if people got to know me and wanted to buy more from me, it was harder for them to do because they had to go to multiple sales pages.

We soon found that the thing we were missing was a single call to action. One place to send people to, like a shop. Seems so simple, doesn’t it? Opening a shop gives you credibility. It provides a single place for your potential customers to see everything you have to offer.

But it wasn’t always easy, so in this episode of Empowered Business, I’m sharing the 5 mistakes we made with our digital product shop so that you can avoid them and fast-track success with your own shop.

Tune in to hear more about our tips for pricing, product descriptions, order bumps, collecting emails, and so much more.

57: What the BLEEP Happened?! Breaking Down Where We’ve Been & What’s Next10 Nov 202200:16:34

We’re back! It’s been nine months since my last episode, so I can’t believe that I can finally say welcome back to another episode of The Empowered Business Podcast.

I hope 2022 has been treating you well. To tell you a little more about how we are doing, I’m taking you back to the last episode, episode 56, where I told you that we are going on an indefinite hiatus. That happened back in January of this year, and at the time, I really didn’t know when I would be back.

This year, we made a big pivot, and this is going to be the backbone of the next few episodes. We doubled down on our online storefront, The Empowered Shop, and it was a game-changer.

We gave the shop a major overhaul and sent a short and sweet email to our list. This changed everything and it all clicked into place. We have an enormous amount of resources available to our customers and this was the best way to offer it all to them.

We now have a six-figure shop and needless to say, we have learned a ton about what to do and what not to do, so I can’t wait to share it with you all.

Tune in to learn more about what happened to my business this year, the pivots we made, and what we learned along the way.

56: It’s Not Goodbye: Why We Are Going On Hiatus and How We’ll Be Back Better Than Ever10 Feb 202200:24:59

This episode of The Empowered Business podcast is going to be a little different. I am delivering some news that is sad, but also a little happy in some ways.

This podcast is going to be put on a temporary hiatus.

The story behind why is a little convoluted and outside of my personality. This doesn't mean it won’t be back, it just means that I need to take a short break from it.  There are a lot of reasons why and I want to be completely transparent with you about this decision.

There have been so many changes in my life and business in the last year, and I need to take some time to regroup and figure out how I want to move forward from here. I usually use a script for my episodes but I am speaking from the heart on this one.

Tune into this final episode (for now) to learn more about what brought me to this decision, how you can stay in touch with me going forward, and what’s coming up for the Empowered Business.

I’ll be sharing more about marketing trends that I have noticed as well as the impact the pandemic is making on online businesses and my thoughts on what it all means for us.  You don’t want to miss this episode!

52: The Power of the Pivot: The Importance of Being Adaptable In The Online Space with Megan Flatt13 Jan 202200:48:18

When you run an online business, you really do need to roll with the punches. The online space saw more changes in 2021 than in the previous five years before. Crazy right?! Businesses were thrown for a loop and scrambling to determine their next move.

Needless to say, being flexible in your business and willing to pivot when needed is a vital trait to have if you want to be successful in business these days. In this episode of the Empowered Business podcast, I brought on my very first business coach, Megan Flatt, to talk about finding success through pivoting.

Megan Flatt is the CEO of Let’s Collective, a business growth strategy firm devoted to making entrepreneurship easier. She is also the founder of Focus Sessions, a virtual coworking and accountability membership to get your most important work done. Let's Collective's mission is to help small businesses scale without burning out through strategic planning, revenue-focused decisions, and science-backed accountability.

Megan is obsessed with lattes, post-it notes and helping women make money. When not doing that, she's hanging with her husband and two kids, probably near the water, in the San Francisco Bay Area.

Megan knows first-hand the impact that you can have on your business by being open to new ideas and not being afraid to learn something new and go for it. It is so important as an online business owner that you can shift into something new when what you’re doing doesn’t work anymore.

Tune in to hear her share her tips for shifting from a high-ticket business model to a low-ticket business model, how she plans ahead by working backwards, and so much more.

51: My Expert Pinterest Ad Strategy for Cracking Multiple 6-Figures in Digital Product Sales06 Jan 202200:22:50

If you have been following me for a while, you probably know that I used to educate business owners on how they can increase their sales through Pinterest advertising.

After 4 years, I retired my signature course, Pin Practical Promotions, and shifted to helping women create digital product businesses. Even after the shift, however, I still get asked questions about promoted pins all the time.

Pinterest ads are a very powerful marketing tool, so I was asked to speak about them at a summit called Growth Week for my friend Gemma. In this episode of the Empowered Business podcast, you’ll get to hear my presentation on how to use Pinterest promotions to increase your sales.

The key is to outline a customer journey and create a Pinterest ads funnel that converts. In this episode, I am sharing all of my tips and strategies for building a promoted pins campaign that drives big results, no matter the price of your product.

Tune in to hear why digital products are so successful on Pinterest, how to use the search engine and conduct keyword research, why ads benefit your business long after your campaign is over, and my four-step process for building the ideal sales funnel.

This episode is packed with loads of information that you can directly apply to your marketing strategies. You don’t want to miss it!

50: How to Work Less and Earn More By Offering VIP Days with Sarah Masci30 Dec 202100:41:56

If you are offering freelance services in your business, there is a good chance that you have heard about VIP Days. They are all the rage right now for a good reason.

VIP Days allow clients to book you for a day instead of drawn-out projects that could take weeks or months to complete. Clients are willing to pay a premium price for the quick turnaround that a VIP Day offers. In fact, some clients only want to hire freelancers that offer VIP Days and will overlook you if you don’t.

So how do you get started offering day rates to your clients? In this episode of the Empowered Business podcast, I sat down with Sarah Masci to talk about what VIP Days are, the benefits to you and your clients, and how you need to get started offering them right away.

Sarah is the founder Day Rate Mastery™, an online company that teaches creative service providers how to work less and make more with a streamlined “day rate” business model.

Years of running a traditional design business, filled with scope creep, inconsistent timelines and overlapping client projects, eventually resulted in classic burnout– becoming the catalyst that sparked Sarah's desire to create a better process. Since its inception in 2019, Day Rate Mastery™ has helped thousands of freelancers rediscover joy in their work and the freedom they’d lost along the way.

There is a lot of synergy between service providers and digital product creators. Offering done-for-you services has always been an amazing way to supplement your income while working on your digital products and VIP Days are definitely the future of client-service provider relationships. You want to get on board now so you don’t get left behind.

Tune in to hear more about how and why you should get started offering VIP Days!

43: How to Make $10k in 5 Days by Pre-selling Your Signature Program11 Nov 202100:31:31

Ready to make some real money with your signature program in 5 days? It is possible!

In this episode of the Empowered Business podcast, I am sharing a presentation I did for the Online Business Playground Summit. In this presentation, I explained how you can pre-sell your signature program using nothing but a Google Doc.

With this method, it is totally possible to make $10k in just 5 days with one to three hours of work.

Your signature program can include online courses, group coaching, and memberships and they can all be sold before you even create them.

Why would you pre-sell them? Pre-selling has many benefits that will help you ensure the success of your program before you even make it. It validates your business idea, you’ll get paid before you do the work, you can build it alongside your students and receive their valuable feedback, and it helps you refine your marketing message. It also gives you testimonials and reviews which will build up your credibility.

This is truly the best way to create and sell a signature program. Your time and work are valuable, and pre-selling is a way to ensure it pays off.

In this episode, you’ll learn more about what a signature program is, how to price it, the importance of pre-selling, and the pre-selling strategy I swear by to ensure the success of my business products. You’ll also learn about my brand new mastermind that you can think of as your digital product MBA.

40: Lessons Learned From My “Failed” Launch21 Oct 202100:24:01

As entrepreneurs, something we have to get used to, even though we may not want to, is failure.

Of course we all want nothing but success in our business, but there are bound to be bumps along the road at some point.

I am no exception to that.

Today I am sharing my story of what some would call a “failed launch”. I am going into detail about how I promoted it, what my goals were, what I spent, where I spent, and what my bottom line was.

I didn’t reach my goals with this launch. I was pretty far off, to be honest. However, I didn’t let this defeat me. I took this experience and learned from it. I am adjusting my strategy and expectations going forward so that I can achieve greater success during my next launch.

“Failure” is unavoidable. It is bound to happen at one time or another, but what you do with that failure is all that matters. Do you let it discourage you or do you flourish because of it?

There is no linear path to success in online business. It's all about failing fast and picking yourself up and trying new things.

Tune in to hear how I am doing exactly that!

31: How to Maximize Your Digital Sales By Creating a Product Ascension Ladder with Michelle Thomas19 Aug 202100:39:57

Do you know what a product ascension ladder is?

Essentially, a product ascension ladder is how you bring someone into your business, get them to know, like and trust you, and buy something from you. As they get wins from you, they move up the product ladder, and eventually, they become loyal fans.

Sounds pretty good, right?

This is what I teach in the Empowered Business Lab, and it is also what I am talking about in this episode with my guest Michelle Thomas!

Michelle joined the Empowered Business Lab and is now building a digital product ascension ladder that helps women keep their weight under control, and she does this all while working full time.

Coach Michelle is a mom of 3, grandma to 1.5 and wife. She helps women balance hormones, bust cravings, break plateaus and become the happy, healthy, active, hot, sexy woman, wife, mom and grandma they want to be - all while making food fun and taking the drama out of it! Her signature program, Become a MacroUnicorn™ helps women understand how to feed their body so that it works with them instead of fighting them for their final weight loss journey.

She has lost 100 lbs 3 times, and at 42, just as her hormones went wonky, she tackled the journey again and finally won a battle she has been fighting since she was 9 years old. Her mission is to help women win their weight loss battle for the last time because the more women that win, the more healthy children this world will have!

If you're not convinced that digital products are right for you, you need to listen to this episode about how Michelle integrated digital products into her own business and how it totally changed the game for her.

I am breaking down what we did, what I don’t recommend doing, how to remove the fear of failure, what I will be doing differently for our next launch and so much more.

This episode will not only give you insight into what goes into a 6-figure launch that ACTUALLY MAKES MONEY, but it will also inspire you to keep pushing in your own business.

28: What a Full Time Employee Can Do to Skyrocket Your Business with My Operations Manager, Hayley Rissler29 Jul 202100:44:28

How can hiring team members actually help you make more money?

I know without a doubt that I waited way too long to recruit business support. I was over-stressed and beyond burnout when I made the decision to begin building a team.

As female business owners, we often convince ourselves we can do it all and that needing assistance is a sign of weakness or disorganization. I am here to tell you that is a flat-out lie!

My guest in this episode is my very own unicorn, Hayley Rissler. She is my Operations Manager, and she takes care of all the logistics, marketing, and overall “people-ing” that keep us rocketing towards success.

Hayley joined Monica Froese with a solid entrepreneurial background, having run a successful blog and launching a business coaching course. She realized that she had the skills and talent to help someone work on their business, instead of in it, and it’s been a wonderful partnership ever since!

Tune in to hear Hayley’s story, how our relationship came to be, and more about what she does to help the business run smoothly!

27: 10x Your Business in Less Than a Year by Social Selling with Lattice Hudson22 Jul 202100:43:34

Do you know much about social selling? This is a pretty new and exciting topic in the online space!

Essentially, social selling is selling through DMs instead of sales calls. The beauty of it is that it is not done in an invading or sleazy way.

This really interests me, so I am talking to Lattice Hudson about how she does it in her business.

Lattice is a business coach, leadership mentor and social sales expert. She is on a mission to help women make more money and increase their impact all while living a life that they love. Lattice believes in the quote “a woman with wealth is a woman with power”.

Throughout this conversation, we get into the difference between closing on Instagram and Facebook, why you need to define your KPIs, how to track all of your active conversations, keeping up with quick growth and so much more.

If you are looking for a new strategy when it comes to selling, this is an awesome way to do it.

How can relationship building help you organically grow your business?

I can confidently say that the relationships that I have built over my five years of entrepreneurship have single handedly taken my business to the next level, but I think that relationship building is so often overlooked!

As online business owners, we are stuck behind our computers a lot of the time, and we don’t really think about the importance of this. My guest, Shannon Mattern, is joining me in this episode to talk all about why relationships are so important for growth.

Shannon Mattern teaches non-techie DIYers how to build a website and get found online, and she teaches web designers how to create profitable, sustainable, scalable web design businesses. Shannon is also the host of Pep Talks for Side Hustlers, a podcast that shares side-hustle success stories and advice to help listeners go from side-hustle to self-employed (without taking a pay cut)!

Shannon shares with us how she went from side hustle to self-employed, the importance of relationship building to grow your business and how consistency and persistence are the key to success through it all.

If you underestimate the power that lies in relationship building, this is the episode that you need to hear!

I bet you have! This software company has really changed my life and my business. When I first started using Leadpages, I was so relieved because it is SO easy to use, and I haven’t looked back since!

I can honestly say that I would not have the business that I have today without it, so I am so excited to be talking to Bob Sparkins from Leadpages in this episode.

As the Sales Marketing Manager at Leadpages, Bob Sparkins champions the customers of the top landing page and website building conversion platform and the audiences they serve. A former high school history teacher and academic team coach, Bob has taught business owners around the world how to leverage digital marketing to impact more people with less effort since 2006. 23: Are Pinterest Ads Worth It in 2021?24 Jun 202100:15:18

We are chatting all about Pinterest advertising in this episode!

I made a huge pivot in 2020 and moved away from teaching Pinterest advertising, but I did dedicate 4 years of my business teaching it! Because of that, I get a TON of questions about if Pinterest ads are worth it.

I get asked the most often if Pinterest ads are worth investing in and if someone should start with Facebook or Pinterest ads first, so I am answering these two questions in this episode.

You will also hear about how my thoughts on Pinterest ads have significantly evolved since I retired my Pinterest ads course last year.

I know this episode will be helpful for you to gain a greater understanding as to what’s going on with Pinterest ads in 2021 and also the differences between Facebook and Pinterest ads.

As digital product creators, it is so important that we keep up with these platforms and educate ourselves so we can make the best decisions for our businesses!

22: The Importance of Financial Independence & A Life Update17 Jun 202100:23:15

I’ve gone through a lot of major life changes in the past 6-9 months…

Between postpartum PTSD, retiring my signature course on Pinterest advertising, starting to prioritize my physical and emotional health, being more strict with my workweek and more, there have been a lot of changes!

In this episode, I am talking about how these life changes put me in a recent situation where I experienced major sexism and really solidified why my business mission is to help women achieve financial independence.

Over the years, I’ve seen way too many women in my life be in unhealthy situations because they lacked the financial resources to get out of it. This makes me EXTREMELY passionate about every single woman’s right to financial security.

I am more passionate and revved up to help women reach their financial goals than ever before, and I want you to be one of those women who crush the 6-figure mark!

Listen in for an honest conversation, and hopefully, the inspiration and direction that you need to take action if you find yourself in some of the same situations.

21: How To Run a Successful Business with Only Two Projects a Year with Dan Morris from BC Stack10 Jun 202100:42:12

Do you know about BC Stack? It's a bundle that comes out every year of different online marketing courses, and I have actually had a product in it for the last few years!

This bundle is unlike any bundle you have ever seen, so I am talking to Dan Morris, CEO, about how BC Stack got started and what his entrepreneurial journey has been like.

Every year, Dan searches the globe to find ordinary people doing extraordinary things in the world of making money online. Then, he invites them to team up by adding their very BEST online training to the “Stack” and lets them sell it for a tiny fraction of the retail price to tens of thousands of hungry and dedicated students for 7 days only.

This gives them a surge of new students in their business, Dan the opportunity to assemble the ultimate A-Z resource on what’s working in digital marketing today, and students the chance to learn from 65 vetted & approved experts for 1% of the retail price. This saves countless hours of researching and removes nearly all of the trial and error.

This episode is unlike any other episode I have done on the show so far, so you are definitely going to be getting some out-of-the-box tips and tricks from it!
