We love music. And we're buds. And we're so very trve. We're EARBVDS! In Earbuds, we review and talk about music (mostly metal). Old stuff. Recent stuff. Stuff that made us the passionate musicians and metal aficionados that we are today. Sometimes we agree. Sometimes we disagree. Sometimes we tear each other apart. But we'll always have fun along the way. There might also be guests. Who knows? This is the beginning of a journey... Want to be our Earbud?

Sex mit Biberleichen w/Nina & Yannick (HERR MARIE)
Saison 4 · Épisode 3
mercredi 13 mai 2026 • Durée 02:38:17
Heaven, Lord Mary … some things just don’t translate properly. Anyways, we’re finally back with a new episode, and this time we’re rocking with the punks for (a) change … pun intended. So, polish your piercings, re-grease your mohawks, and open a can of your finest – which is to say, cheapest – off-brand lager for this celebratory re-sealing of an ancient covenant. Join us, as punks and metalheads become unified once more, and simply meet as bvds. For this, we welcome in our midst two gloriously (hey ho, let’s) go-getting individuals: the diversely haired, incredibly talented, uniquely voiced and inspiringly vocal Yannick and Nina of Saarland’s finest punk rocking outfit, Herr Marie.
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a new category! This episode, we double-down on double trouble, as we are looking for “the best album by a band with only two members”. So, dismiss your horn section and pair your headphones for this detonation of duplex dynamite, as we blow each other up over the explosive releases by Satyricon – Now, Diabolical (01:51:07), We Butter The Bread With Butter – Das Monster Aus Dem Schrank (01:58:50), Now, Now Every Children – Cars (02:07:38), Bionic Ghost Kids – Horrorshow (02:12:11), and last but obviously not least, Pound - ●● (02:19:52).
One more thing, as usual: we’re on Discord! Come join the cult! We would love for you to join the Earbvds family and talk music with us!
Once again, we invite you to come along for this metallic journey of epic proportions.
Sauté me skin-side and call me a goose: it’s time for another one already! Even though your bvds are still shaking from last episode’s earthshattering heaviness, we’re back so very soon with new tunes, good moods, and a thematically appropriate dose of je ne sais quoi. Voila! Join us, as we effortlessly shift from quakes to quacks with our amazing guests, who are as belly-achingly funny as they are musically gifted: the goose bumpin’, comebackin’, riff-salad-dressin’ Lars and Agent of Saarland’s weedliest metalcore outfit UNDER FALSE COLORS.
Bebebebeuuuuuuj (insert air horn sound)! We’re back! New year, new tracks, new tracksuits – as is fitting for our casually smart, leisurely-clothed guest! Yes, we’re doubling down on harkening our hardcore heritage! So, join us for an inspiring, snapbackin’, street-creddin’, anger-managin’ blast of an episode with the one and only Chris of Saarland’s OG hardcore unit Additional Time.
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a new category! This episode, we are looking for “the album with the best vocal performance”. Polish your pipes and fasten your false chords, as we plunge into the pleasure grottos of bawling perfection, indulging another selection of questionable choices, including – (01:15:51), – (01:27:30), – (01:38:57), – (01:52:50), and last but not least, – (02:02:42).
Earbvm of the Year 2025
Saison 3 · Épisode 8
mercredi 21 janvier 2026 • Durée 02:52:58
Blizzards couldn’t stop us. (Minor) car crashes couldn’t stop us. Failing public transport couldn't sop us. Not even sleepy B❤️ could stop us.
Three weeks have passed since we recorded this one, and yet we still cannot wipe the smiles off our faces. What wonderful bvds you all are! Thank you so much to everyone who joined us for our first Earbvds-Live-Show. Y'all truly made this a very special episode that we will never forget! We love you!
For those of you who couldn’t be with us on that fateful, soul cold night in early January – or for those of you who are keen to hear if their funny heckle made the episode – , tune in as we look back at what a fantastic year 2025 has been for heavy music – and some other outrageously fringe genres ...
Witness maggots morph into moths, as we gather once more for our annual ritual to find the one trve album that might unite all bvds, as we move with unperturbed determination through a whopping total of 148 (!!!) albums – never enough music –, in the desperate hope that this year’s undisputed EARBVM of the year will heal the gaping wounds of 2024 – never forget.
No detailed show notes this time, because, obviously, no spoilers, duh.
One more thing, as usual: We’re on Discord now! Come join the cult! We would love for you to join the Earbvds family and talk music with us!
Once again, we invite you to come along for this metallic journey of epic proportions.
Awwwright, bvds, open this fuckin’ pod up. Side to fuckin’ side. Front to fuckin’ back. We’re back with another no-nonsense episode, replete with two-stepping tantrums, windmilling witticisms, and some crowd-killing conversation. Once again, we’re joined by a fantastic guest for some insightful banter ‘bout bvds, beers, breakdowns, and bandanas: the rhyme spitting, mosh-pitting, incredibly credible Ben from Saarland's very own hate-breeding hardcore powerhouse DISLOCATE . Pump up your sneakers and put on your favorite pair of mosh shorts: This one hits harder than the streets of Saarbrooklyn!
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a new category! This episode, we are looking for “the best album of the 90s”. Strap on your inline skates, replenish your Walkman with fresh batteries, and take a stroll down nostalgia lane with us, as we embrace and celebrate a decade worth of (mostly) fantastic heavy music, including Judas Priest – Painkiller (01:51:36), (01:56:20), (02:03:38), (02:08:57), (02:17:33), as well as (02:27:17).
Error 404 - Metal not found ... w/Ronja (@whoiskatharina)
Saison 3 · Épisode 8
lundi 27 octobre 2025 • Durée 02:39:21
Say cheese, bvds – because this week, we’re back with another R-rated episode – R stands for r-chitect, obviously – full of refreshing opinions, rambunctious anecdotes, and ridiculous analogies. Once again, we’re joined by a fantastic guest, the amazingly talented and enigmatically handled Ronja (@whoiskatharina), Saarland’s stealthiest scene sharpshooter, capturing riffs, sweat, and occasional existential crises through her ever-watchful lens. R you ready to rumble? Hold still, as we pose for the ultimate metal centerfold.
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a new category! This episode, we are looking for our respective “least favorite album by one of our favorite bands”. Trick or treat yourselves to some preposterous polemics and surprising twists and turns, as we shake up feelings like freshly developed polaroids about In Flames – Siren Charms (01:47:15), (01:55:42), (02:03:46), (02:11:14), as well as (02:20:37).
Alt und bitter macht's, dem Tod zu dienen ... w/Chris (GEISTERFAUST, WALKING GHOSTPHASE, POISONED SPEED, PESTILENT PISS)
Saison 3 · Épisode 5
lundi 8 septembre 2025 • Durée 02:18:04
From the gloomy shadows emerges a spectral figure, walking ghostly to the sound of creaking strings, aching joints, and shredding riffs. He has clenched his phantasmal fist to worship the One who bestowed upon him the gifts of venomous velocity, and who has punished him with frequent and foul-smelling urination.
Don’t know who we’re talking about? Well, he’s a tough guy, likes it really rough guy, just can’t get enough guy, chest always so puffed guy.
Still don’t know? He’s that bad type, make your mama sad type, make your girlfriend mad type, might seduce your dad type.
Still don’t know? Well, our ghastly guest goes by many names, but whether he guises himself as Billie or Fuchtel, you shall know him as Greilich. Duh!
Or Chris. Chris is also fine.
Join us as we open our cellar doors for one of Saarland’s most prolific and talented musicians, our most humble and gentle guest: Chris of GEISTERFAUST, WALKING GHOSTPHASE, POISONED SPEED, and PESTILENT PISS – just to name a few of his projects.
After a deep dive into our guest’s globetrotting ventures, we discuss another eclectic selection of new tunes, including the recent releases by Fit For A King – Lonely God (00:26:48), Blackbraid – (00:39:44), – (00:52:25), – (01:02:05), and – (01:12:21).
EXTRABVDS: Muss net schmecke, muss wirke! w/Sandro (RYU.DYSMORPHIA)
vendredi 1 août 2025 • Durée 02:25:54
Sharpen your knives and unbutton your third eye — we’re back in the kitchen of chaos, and tonight’s menu is anything but Michelin-approved. Returning to the EARBVDS table is none other than Sandro, aka Ryu Dysmorphia: visual artist extraordinaire, photographic alchemist, and certified stirrer of pots (both literal and conceptual).
In this special EXTRABVDS episode, we toss aesthetics into the blender, sauté some raw emotions, and garnish it all with a suspicious foam of meaning. Treat yourself to a healthy helping of soul-wrenching gut punches and cleanse your palate with some barely digestible comfort food. Because you’re worth it! Dig in!
The forest floor stirs, and somewhere betwixt lichen and moss, a low drone rumbles like unholy cathedral bells in reverse. As we become one with the undergrowth, iridescent crimson dripping from the palm of our hands, we hear a voice, deeper than Earth itself ... is it a raven-haired Leprechaun, mourning the dissolution of its jolly rainbow? Is it a royal reptile, bemoaning the desecration of its magic kingdom? Or is it, simply, powerfully, Lucifer ... moaning ... in love? Whatever it was, hell was raised, as we return once more to usher in a new chapter of chaos and conversation.
Join us as we unearth the sacred mud from which trve heaviness is born and regurgitate the blood of sacred deer, slain in the name of the One who teaches us to live deliciously. This episode, we summon for a seance of supreme sermons and sardonic sonic rituals: Aaron of PHOSPHORUS, Trier’s own post-black metal/sludge unit, and the new goat in town. Light some incense, burn some feathers, and roll out your best Sunday bone dice: It’s high time for some hellish heaviness. Bvds be back, alright!
Yee haw and howdy, pardners! Been way too long, y’all. Mighty nice to be back in the saddle again with a new sharpshooting episode. Literal worlds collide as we buckle up and rustle two wild broncos from the Northern plains.
Join us as we face off in a cold-blooded shoot-out two outlaws from the outer realms; two Celtic Warriors from beyond the distant horizon locally know as the A8, where mighty metal maniacs stand defiantly against anything untrve, guarding their Gallic village against the marauding forces of the mainstream. Finally, Otzenhausen has descended upon the pod! Tune in as we welcome our sensationally insightful, passionate, and entertaining guests: Aaron and Chris from THE FALS.
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a new category! This episode, we are looking for the finest golden nuggets of yesteryear, as we go prospecting for the “best album of the 2010s”, which, of course, was impossible to mine, especially a wild bunch of greenhorns like us. Anyways, we tried our best and contended with (01:46:22), (02:00:16), (02:10:54), and (02:19:22).

Special Thanks to Dock 11 for accommodating us in their lovely studio.
As usual, the “lost & found” section of the show comes with a new category! This episode, we are looking for the best album that came out when we were 15yrs old. Needless to say, strap yourselves in for some good old-fashioned nostalgia and (many) questionable decisions, as we raid the tombs of long-forgotten temples and retrieve the following ancient artifacts: Edguy – Hellfire Club (02:01:03), Comeback Kid – Wake the Dead (02:16:33), Flogging Molly – Float (02:26:07), and Behemoth – The Satanist (02:35:30).
As always, we're happy to provide a Spotify-playlist to complement this episode for your convenience. Check it out!
