Tarkir Dragonstorm is THE Magic set of the year! The one set being heralded as the only magic set of the year that FEELS like a magic set, and on one of the games most popular planes too!

Connor and Wyatt ( @TypicalGeminiMTG  ) break down all the sets mechanics, card cycles, and point out some of their favorite cards from the adored Tarkir Dragonstorm!

The news kept coming in hot and heavy these last two weeks. The Q1 earnings call isn't just boring statistics, we have confirmation that Final Fantasy Universes Beyond is Magic's besting selling set of all time! Over one month before its release!

We also dive into Commander's recent Unbannings and updates to the Commander Bracket Beta system including 18 additions to the Game Changers List.

We also discuss the Through the Omenpaths versions of some Universes Beyond sets starting with Spider-Man, and the abyssmal new Chaos Vault Secret Lair Drop

In Classic Wizards of the Coast fashion, some Final Fantasy Starter Kits found their way into the hads of Brazilian consumers... two months before the street date!!!

@TypicalGeminiMTG  and I discuss how WotC would let this happen AGAIN, and how they handled this situation, compared to when we had the Pinkertons sent to a YouTuber's house!

We also break down the surprise April Fools Day Secret Lair drop featuring Marvels own Deadpool; discuss our Tarkir Dragonstorm thoughts in the prerelease environment, and some possible future MTG Lego sets!?

Wizards of the Coast has been developing a 3D virtual table top game for Dungeons & Dragons for years and after the Beta release in February... 90% of the Project Sigil development team has been laid off and the product is seemingly dead in the water.

We also get to bring in Wyatt (@TypicalGeminiMTG) to the show!  And just in time to go over what you can expect to get from your Tarkir Dragonstorm products! Plus, are Secret Lair's more accessible now???

We have Hasbro's financial report for Q4 2024 and the full fiscal year of 2024 and in a shock to nobody, Wizards of the Coast is the primary revenue driving entity at Hasbro, but interestingly, sales of Magic product are down compared to 2023!

Additionally, Spongebob has some bad Secret Lairs, Commandfest's have been dated, and Sam is going away! (for now)

It has been a busy week in Magic the Gathering News!  Magic Con Chicago weekend just wrapped up and thanks to the Preview Panel we saw some cards from Tarkir Dragonstorm (including a new Mox), art from Edge of Eternities, and the announcement of Avatar the Last Airbender being a full Universes Beyond Set for the end of the year!

And all of that after the commanders for the Final Fantasy precons were revealed, along with several very... controversial cards from the main set!

Have you ever wondered if you were too fast? If you were too furious? Aetherdrift will speed racer you into another plane of existence! The Dungeon Bros along with our good friend  @TypicalGeminiMTG  discuss the set mechanics and favorite cards released in Aetherdrift!

Commander Players! We get our first in depth look at the Commander Bracket matchmaking system.  Gavin Verhey seems to think that this will improve the big problem of... what exactly?  More interestingly, this comes alongside the "Game Changer" list.  A list of 40 cards that the Commander Format Panel has identified as cards of particularly high power (that could possibly catch a ban???)

We also briefly discuss the announced Live Action Magic the Gathering Film and TV series!  Maybe it won't be cancelled this time.

Aetherdrift spoilers are in full swing and we go over some of the cards we've seen so far, and discuss the two (yes, only two) commander decks! We also started recording mere hours after the newest Unearthed Arcana playtest is posted to D&D Beyond! We take a preliminary look at the 8 Forgotten Realms themed subclasses we got.

In the time since our break, not only did we miss the Artificer Unearthed Arcana, but we also got some very interesting numbers for the sales of 2024's D&D 5e revision. Outselling the original 5e in 4 months, what it took the originals 3 years! Impressive stuff.

We also go over the Innistrad Remastered full set reveal, the D&D Slot Machine licensing deal, and the... interesting basic land Secret Lair arts!

The highs were HIGH and the lows were... very very low... But we brought on friend of the show  @TypicalGeminiMTG  to discuss the year that was 2024 for D&D and Magic the Gathering!

We had a new president for Wizards of the Coast, we had AI controversies, we had the release of D&D 5e's major 2024 revfsion, we had Magic formats broken wide open then banned back into some sense of normalcy, and we had the HOTTEST bird summer you could possibly imagine (RIP Nadu) 2025 is also looking very exciting!

We take a brief look at what is coming and what we want to see in the coming year.

The last Banned & Restricted update for 2024 was a JUICY one to say the least! Two Major bans for Legacy in Psychic Frog and Vexing Bauble. Jegantha the Wellspring singing the end to companions in most constructed formats. AND the long awaited banning of The One Ring and... Ampted Raptor(?) for Modern, as well as the shocking UNBANNING of Mox Opal, Green Suns Zenith, Faithless Looting, and the notorious Splinter Twin!!!

Will this meaningfully shake up Modern and other formats? Is it crazy that Kaladesh has been renamed to Avishkar??? What about a D&D video game being delisted, product MSRP's for Aetherdrift, or a new and cheaper than normal Secret Lair release?

Does it really surprise anyone? Elon Musk wants to buy Hasbro to get access to the Dungeons & Dragons IP for his upstart video game company XAI... a game studio looking to make games using AI. Should we take his comments on X very seriously? The stock market sure did.

We also dive into the upcoming D&D and Magic the Gathering Video Games, the 20 ways to win Secret Lair commander deck, and the Lord of the Rings Roleplaying game coming to D&D Beyond!

Happy Thanksgiving! To show our thanks to you and the card game we love, we brought on our side-bro Wyatt (AKA Typical Gemini) to give our set review for the Magic the Gathering Foundations set!

Being the last set of 2024, a 5 year standard legal set, and having some interesting non-standard legal cards in jumpstart packs, we tell you everything you need to know about Foundations!

Who would've thought a lukewarm take clipped for shorts would make people so upset! But are they right about Universes Beyond? Are 50/50 Universes Beyond releases actually GOOD for Magic the Gathering?

We also dive into the newly announced Secret Lair Commander deck 20 ways to win, the spiking prices of Foundations Jumpstart Cards, Hasbros Lawsuit for allegedly lying about overpurchasing Magic product in the wake of the pandemic, and Dungeons & Dragons getting an episode on Amazon Primes upcoming Secret Level show!

OOOOOOOO BOY. Was anyone really surprised that the Secret Lair website only lasted 6 minutes before crashing for the Magic x Marvel drop? We certainly aren't. But there is much to discuss about the Limited run model for Secret Lairs, a brief recap of all the announcements out of Magic Con Las Vegas, and laughing at D&D Beyond for posting nearly all of the new Dungeon Masters Guide for FREE!

The Bros bring back the Bro from another... Mo?  @TypicalGeminiMTG  to talk about all the announcements at the recent Magic-Con Las Vegas!

Foundations announcements, rules changes, universes beyond being legal everywhere, the slate of 2025 sets, and many many dumb jokes and bits abound!

Stay tuned for the Foundations set review for a deep dive into the cards!

The Marvel x MtG leaks we talked about a couple weeks ago were real! We dive into the full slate of Marvel Secret Lairs that will be dropping very soon, we discuss the implications of a Spider Man Magic the Gathering set separate from the rest of Marvel.

We also dip our toes into some early previews for the 2024 Dungeon Masters Guide, a hilariously poorly written, clearly AI generated, article from Gizmodo; and credible reports that Wizards of the Coast has a clause in the contract for soon to be members of the Commander Advisory Panel that says they cannot speak negatively about Wizards of the Coast publicly... IN PERPETUITY???

The Bro's sit down with the illustrious Wyatt AKA  @TypicalGeminiMTG  to talk about the spookiest Magic the Gathering set, Duskmourn House of Horrors! How good is this set compared to the other best sets of the year, what are the core mechanics, and some of our choice cards from the set!

So have a tumultuous week for Magic the Gathering, the Commander Rules Committee has given over control of the commander format to the design team of Wizards of the Coast! This of course is a massive change to how the format is run, but is the community concern reasonable, or are they as usual overblowing the negative impact of this change?

We also get a look into the Competitive Commander Collective, also known as the second attempt at a cEDH rules committee. The D&D 5e 2024 Dungeon Masters Guide is being previewed, and PETA makes D&D subclasses now???

We may have just gotten the biggest commander banlist update we've ever seen. Mana Crypt, Jeweled Lotus, Dockside Extortionist, and Nadu, Winged Wisdom all caught the Commander Rules Committee ban hammer. Dockside and Nadu were somewhat expected. Mana Crypt and Jeweled Lotus on the other hand were a shock.

Many are now very upset with the massive loss in value of their collections, many decks in cEDH are now simply no longer viable without access to this form of fast mana, and nearly everyone is upset with the commitee's very poor communication and are asking for change in how they go about discussing bans.

We also dive into the collection of Secret Lairs that have been recently announced, and Daggerheart going into pre-orders!

The cEDH community in an attempt to self regulate their format brought together several major tournament players in the format to put forth a cEDH specific set of tournament rules/bans. This was met with widespread backlash both from the idea of cEDH needing a rules committee, but moreso from the fact the committee was only white men. And due to Twitter being a cesspool of garbage, the would be Rules Committee was disbanded within two weeks. Does cEDH even need a Rules Committee? Were the issues levied at them fair? The Bros discuss.

We also talk about Duskmourn House of Horrors previews, Greg Tito leaving D&D's community team, and yet another D&D controversy! This time D&D can't have sushi or tacos apparently?

In a surprise to literally nobody, we find ourselves having to discuss a misinformed outrage, courtesy of an article on Wargamer! D&D Beyond is updating their content to reflect the new changes to the 2024 revision of the game. Despite the fact they are not, and never were, going to deleted the 2014 content, the people have been led to believe they were!

Magic the Gatherings yearly "State of Design" is in and much is what we expected. "Bonus Sheets good" "Detective mysteries on Ravnica bad", but we did learn something interesting! Universed Beyond Lord of the Rings cards are legally able to be reprinted?!?! Where is our One Ring?!

In the Post-GenCon world we found ourselves with a copy of the 2024 revision to 5th editions Players Handbook! (Courtesy of Wizards of the Coast) In a months time it will be on shelves for you to enjoy, but what about the other 2024 D&D products? The DMG? The Monster Manual? Project Sigil????

To offset the fortune of the PHB, we were not the lucky few who were hand delivered packs of Mystery Booster 2 EARLY at GenCon from Gavin Verhey himself, BUT we have lots of new information about Mystery Booster 2 and how it is SO COOL! The Downside: You're unlikely to every play with them...

Lastly, the Dungeon Bros are leaving the Dungeon Home and Parting ways! Fear not, the show will go on, but remotely. This is the last in person Dual's and Mana Dorks!

After much uncertainty, Hasbro has found a new president and leader for Wizards of the Coast! John Hight, formerly of Blizzard Entertainment, has worked on video games and played table top rpg's and card games! Isn't that novel... Will he do better than their previous failures at leadership??

Bloomburrow is OUT and has brought with it some rule changes that material effect previously printed cards, and after much community outcry, many will be errata'd to have their original functionality maintained!

Plus it's Secret Lair time with Monty Python and the Holy Grail!!!

Check out  @TypicalGeminiMTG  out on YouTube for his amazing deck techs that are ACTUALLY budget (like $20 or less!)

Bloomburrow's full release is out NOW and it is shaping up to be the best set of the year! We go over all the set specific mechanics, point out some cards and cycles of cards that are worth noting, and get wildly off topic from time to time... don't worry about it!

After a week where there was so much information that we couldn't properly dive into it all, we are gifted with a calm week, giving the Bros some time to dig into their favorite hobbies!

D&D's 2024 revision has shown us the new designs for the monster stat blocks as well as the new character sheets! Are they better than what we had or just change for changes sake?

We are now in the thick of Bloomburrow spoiler season as well! (not that we've just had a high power set release, a universes beyond set release, and previews for sets that are coming out AFTER Bloomburrow, but I digress) We go over some of the new set mechanics, some returning mechanics, a powerful cycle of sorceries, and some.... interesting commanders....

Check out The Proxy Forge! https://www.theproxyforge.com?sca_ref=5617924.rZxlhBjvwn Thank you for sponsoring this episode of the podcast!

The universe loves to give us barely anything to talk about for weeks on end, only to infodump a MASSIVE amount of stuff on us all at once!

The CRIT Awards is no longer going to be at GenCon after threats of violence; D&D has been previewing all of the classes and some feats, spells, and new mechanics; and out of Magic Con we have new Previews for Bloomburrow, Duskmourn House of Horror's and a new Standard legal (for at least 5 years!) set in Magic the Gathering Foundations!

We have our friend Typical Gemini on to talk about Modern Horizons 3, the state of Magic the Gathering, and just getting into our love of the game! You'll probably see more of him in the future as other mtg sets begin to release!

Dungeon's & Dragons 2024 Revision may be the update that D&D has needed. They are posting videos daily discussing all the major updates to the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Masters Guide, and Monster Manual! We take the time to go over this first wave of announcements and get hyped for the newest version of the worlds greatest RPG!

Assassin's Creed is also already in spoiler season for Magic the Gathering (didn't we just get Modern Horizons 3???). Sam is the resident AC fan in this dungeon, so what is the vibe check on these spoilers from the fan and the outsider?

Also, Hatsune Miku's next Secret lair, the Tolarian Community College's newest kickstarter, and.... D&D Stamps?!?!

Check out the CRIT Awards! https://www.critawards.org/

So we orginally wanted to discuss the Finalists for the CRIT Awards, but in classic Dungeon Bros fashion... It devolves into chaotic nonsense that is hardly related to the CRIT Awards at all. Ivy is a joy and be sure to get your votes in once the finalists are announced!

Thank You Proxy Forge for sponsoring this episode!

Wizards of the Coast just can't help themselves can they? There is an UPROAR because of a Job listing for a "Principal A.I. Engineer" for their video game division. Is it that big a deal or are people just over reacting (yet again)?

We also discuss the D&D TV series being dropped by Paramount+ and WotC shopping it to other production and streaming companies. Former Wizards President Cynthia Williams new job, and our final thoughts for Modern Horizons 3 before the set is officially released!

The Eldrazi are inside the PC I SWEAR! Despite being plagued by failed audio recordings and frozen video we nonetheless strive forward because there were a LOT of reveals for Modern Horizon's 3 with the world reveal of their Debut video. We get to see the commander deck commanders and backup commanders, new cycles of cards, powerful reprints, and so so much more.

Also, D&D is returning to Greyhawk as the official campaign setting for One D&D's Dungeon Masters Guide; a new Magic banlist targeting Unfinity and.... Pauper?!, plus we take questions from the Patreon audience to discuss our thoughts on banning cards in Magic's commander format, as well as other properties we would like to see get Magic the Gathering releases!

Thank you to Proxy Forge for sponsoring this episode of the Podcast! https://www.theproxyforge.com?sca_ref=5617924.rZxlhBjvwn

As with all news cycles the good must come with the bad... One D&D Players Handbook Fireside chat in this case being the good, with the Hasbro and Wizards of the Coast 2023 & Q1 2024 earnings report being the Bad. Financials aren't looking too hot for Hasbro, despite WotC keeping the ship afloat.

We also discuss Modern Horizons 3 Leaks, MTG Pride events, an MTG Manga, the new most expensive Magic card ever sold, and a new Hatsune Miku secret lair?!?!

Wizards of the Coast President Cynthia Williams has filed with the SEC that she is resigning from her post effective THIS WEEK, and interestingly enough, right before the next quarterly earnings are made public... We go over her tenure and time with the company as well as discuss who would be a good replacement. We also have updates to Daggerhearts Beta systems, Larian Studios moving on from Baldur's gate, Modern Horizon's 3 Flip-walker leaks, Cowboy Bebop Promo cards for Standard events, D&D Converse collabs, and answer questions from the audience!

Outlaws of Thunder Junction is upon us and we talk about the set and some cool cards that have been revealed! Also, D&D is partnering with Lego and you can get a FREE adventure written by Chris Perkins to go with it!

Sam is recovering from a massive loss of his Wisdom (teeth that is), but that isn't gonna stop us from covering all the juicy new information we have for Vecna: Eve of Ruin, Quests from the Infinite Staircase, yet another round of MTG artist plagiarism, and we go over some of the feedback and thoughts from the audience about our first impressions of Daggerheart!

The Dungeon Bros dip there toes into the Daggerheart Beta playtest materials! Critical Role released the Daggerhear Beta materials mere minutes before the recording of the podcast, so we go over the major mechanics and unique features we like, and ones we are skeptical of... We also talk about the MTG banlist update, Altered TCG record breaking kickstarter, and are thrilled that we can now offer the podcast... WITH VIDEO!!!

Magic Con Chicago has come and gone and we have a LOT of new information to go over for this years releases! Fallout Commander Decklists, Outlaws of Thunder Junction, Commander... I mean Modern Horizons 3, Assassin's Creed mini boosters (BOOOOOOO) and Bloomburrow!!!

Too much to say and too little time!

Check out https://www.critawards.org/ for information on the awards, voting, and how you can support!

On this Bonus Action, we have on Ivy, CEO and Founder of the CRIT awards (Creator Recognition In TTRPG's). She discusses the creation, and success of the first annual awards show, changes and improvements for this years awards, and even announces a new category exclusively on the podcast!!!

At long last! Wizards of the Coast announced the release dates for the core 3 rulebooks for One D&D! But they aren't releasing at the same time? Or even near one another! We also squash the rumors that Hasbro was looking to sell the D&D IP to Tencent, a massive chinese communist media conglomerate.

We also take some time to touch on Joe Manganiello's dead on arrive live action Dragonlance show, Foundry Virtual Table Top getting official D&D support, and a new TCG Altered! Their Kickstarter raised nearly $3 million in two weeks! What's all the hype about?

In our second episode of the Dual's & Mana Dork's supplement podcast Bonus Action, we talk to our friend an fellow creator The Bearded GM! We discuss playing D&D, playing offline at your own pace D&D with the Orsak Narrative Universe Discord, and the Live Play D&D series he is a part of Dice Soup!

This week's episode was shaping up to be just talking about the Karlov Manor Set Spoilers, then 2 hours before recording we get some juicy news about One D&D AND Wizards of the Coast collaborating with VR game developer Resolution Games! Are we finally getting our VR VTT?! if Resolution Games previous game Demeo is anything to go off on, we certainly think so!

Surpise! You get a Bonus Episode!!!  It's been a while since we've had on a guest and we thought what better way to start the year than debuting our rebranded bonus episodes, "Bonus Action"!

We have our friend and fellow creator Randy Sackett (AKA The Forged Realm) on to talk about a variety of topics stretching from his partnership with Loot Studios and their upcoming Relics Untold that we playtested at Gen Con, Scheduling and commitment for D&D, Being introduced to Magic the Gathering, 3D Printing, and meeting the great Matthew Mercer while he was taking a piss!

You gotta love a classic Twitter outrage. WotC has yet again been caught using A.I. generated art in promotional materials for the now released Ravnica Remastered Magic the Gathering set! They even DOUBLED DOWN that it wasn't A.I. art, until they admitted it was and deleted the tweets... We also discuss the aforementioned Ravnica Remastered MtG set and if it is even worth it to buy, the upcoming previews from Murder at Karlov Manor, and we discuss if the lack of D&D announcements, information, and products is concerning or a step in the right direction. Then followed as always by questions, comments, concerns, thought, and/or ideas from the audience!

The Dungeon Bros start out going over an interview with a recently ex-employee of Wizards of the Coast and hear what they have to say about the recent layoffs and the state of WotC today.

They then dive deep into the year that was for Dungeons & Dragons, and Magic the Gathering! They discuss all the book releases, One D&D Playtest, MtG sets, commander decks, and all the glorious (as well as super depressing) news from the year of our lord 2023!

In a massive yet oddly unsurprising move, Hasbro has laid off 1,100 employees two weeks before christmas. Even more perplexing, among the layoff's include may at Wizards of the Coast, the subsidiary that is actually profitable, including some employees who are the leads of the teams that produce Hasbro's most profitable products. The Bros are not happy. But we do like the newly announced MCDM RPG crowdfunding campaign that met its goal in only 2 hours! Also, Amazon signs a deal with Games Workshop to create Warhammer 40k shows and movies being produced and starring the illustrious Henry Cavill!!!

The Dungeon Bros breakdown all the changes in the latest One D&D playtest 8 Unearthed Arcana! Barbarian, Druid, and Monk changes abound, New spells, better healing and so much more! We also go over the newest D&D book announceents, an upcoming Dungeons and Dragons video game for 2026, D&D Beyond partnering with 3rd party developers, and the newest Magic the Gathering Banlist! Plus questions, comments, concerns, thoughts, and/or ideas from our fans!

It's Thanksgiving week!! The Dungeon Bros discuss the proper way to consume the Thanksgiving meal, the plagiarized art and theft from an artist in Lost Caverns of Ixalan, more AI Art controversy, the D&D TV channel, and we take some questions from the audience!

Is Wizards of the Coast on the mend?! It seems they are actually caring about their products a little bit and are willing to delay them if the quality isn't up to snuff! The physical release of the Deck of Many things and Book of Many things have been indefinitely delayed until the production samples are of a high enough quality. (If only they would treat their premium Magic the Gathering foil printings in the same way) Plus we go over some Lost Caverns of Ixalan previews!
