| 311 Leah Davis' Hangry Encounter | 09 Oct 2024 | 01:03:29 | |
Today the Drunk Women earned the title a little bit more, as this week's guest - the hilarious comedian and presenter Leah Davis - came armed with a bottle of prosecco, putting all past guests to shame and launching the concept of the BYO Guest! As well as making the party go with a swing, Leah also told us about the time she had to deal with a potential con artist, while feeling hangry, when it's obviously much better to avoid criminal activity with a full stomach. The team then sips along to a case where the perp may have been hot but wasn't referred to as 'a little shit' for nothing…And this week's listener crime is a bit of a pig's ear, but nothing we wouldn't have been tempted to do ourselves once upon a time! The DWSC team are back in Hannah's flat, sipping some drinks while solving a crime or two, and were delighted to be joined in their endeavours by the hilarious comedian, Ria Lina!Ria came armed with some sharp detective skills and a crime story in which redemption (of sorts) was let in through the back door and then marched straight back out again! The gang then set about solving a crime which perhaps inspired Meatloaf to declare that he 'would do anything for love, but I won't do that' ... to be fair I don't think any of us would do THAT...Lastly, we hear from a listener who is still smarting over an art attack which may (or may not) have been finally solved. | 241 Robyn Wilder Keeps the Meter Running | 03 May 2023 | 01:03:09
This episode serves as a time machine to the heady days of December 2022, as the ladies were joined by writer Robyn Wilder on a live zoom to have a bevvy or two and solve some crimes! As this episode is being released in the spring of 2023, we can all look back fondly at the follies of our youth, as the trusty Patreons looked on and joined in on the live chat - see how you can be involved on our next live zooms by visiting Drunk Women Solving Crime | creating Podcasts | PatreonRobyn opened the show with a duo of crimes which only show her helpful nature in a favourable light - after all, as a wise person once said, 'why be a b*stard, if you can be nice?' - or words to that effect. The team on the panel and at home, then set about cracking a case with a cast of thousands, and not one sensible name between them. Finally, one of the eager watchers had their crime solved in real time by the detectives .... or at least they didn't make it worse... well, much worse anyway. | 240 DWSC LIVE: With Emily Dean | 26 Apr 2023 | 00:56:24
This episode screams 'second record of the night' as the riotous atmosphere permeates through the podcast app, you'll feel as giddy as if you were in the audience of this residency show at 21Soho in London!Hannah, Taylor and Catie's high spirits are in part, thanks to this week's fantastic guest, presenter, actor and podcaster, Emily Dean, who starts-off proceedings with sharing her family's criminal background and her own aspirations of being a detective, after spotting a fraudulent attempt and some other freelance investigations in which she follows her nose to get to the bottom of it all.The team (and audience) then gets to the bottom of a case which very much has the 'it's my way or the highway' energy. And finally, the high drama continues with this week's audience crime, the storyteller of which may or may not be known to one of the Drunk Women, and you'll find out what a 'cagoule' is, if you didn't know already (which you almost definitely did). | 238 Posey Mehta & The Tottenham Outrage | 12 Apr 2023 | 00:57:32
What happens on a live zoom call clearly doesn't stay on a live zoom call when the Drunk Women are involved, exhibit A, ladies and gentlemen...The team decided to invite their closest friends - or Patreons as they are otherwise known - to watch the mayhem unfold with this week's wonderful guest, comedian and writer, Posey Mehta!Fun fact, Taylor, Hannah and Catie shared a dressing room with Posey at last year's Edinburgh Fringe and until this zoom call had NEVER seen her when she wasn't dressed as a gorilla, including full face make-up, and it would appear that any woman who goes out in public, dressed as a gorilla is just asking to be sexually harassed, as you'll hear.We then get fully involved in a crime caper, which although serious in nature, has farcical over AND undertones, the likes of which would never be seen in present day Tottenham* - or ANYWHERE for that matter. And finally, one of the Patreons got to have their crime 'solved' in real time, to find out how you can do the same, go to www.patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime to see how you can attend the next live zoom on May 3rd! | 237 DWSC LIVE: With Daisy Earl | 05 Apr 2023 | 00:54:01
Back at their London residency , the Drunk Women welcome brilliant comedian Daisy Earl to the force, who shared a story in which one could argue 3 perps played a part... the criminal themselves, the police and Daisy's own mum... we'll let you be the judge, but in our opinion NO ONE should be chip shamed!Once Daisy recounted her ordeal to the baying crowd, the gals then knuckle down to a crime with real star quality - AND some epic A-Lister gossip courtesy of our very own Taylor -although for the full story, you really had to be there, so come to a live show to really get your teeth into things, details below.Plus, as always we hear from a lovely listener, and if this lady actually thought her story was 'too boring' to tell, I dread to think what she would deem as an exciting night out! The Drunk Women are back in the flat for this episode and joining them around the table is podcasting legend, Helen Zaltzman!Helen started-off by sharing some childhood detective-smarts that would put Columbo to shame... oh and another thing there's no 'S' in her name either! The team then skilfully crack a case which frankly has all the trimmings of a classic Agatha Christie ... mainly because it starts on a train, they always start on a train, don't they? Finally, we hear from a listener who literally has a cold case that still needs solving, and we find out that in Hannah's world, Cherry Garcia is just an ice-cream, flavour and nothing more. | 235 DWSC LIVE: With Teresa Livingstone | 22 Mar 2023 | 01:04:05
It's back to Belfast for this episode of DWSC when the well-oiled team did their second live show of the day for the city's Out to Lunch festival. This time, joining them on the force is comedian, Teresa Livingstone whose explosive story at the start of the show, lent a cinematic air to proceedings early on. The team then get involved with a case which will give you nightmares if consumed too close to bedtime - or the cheese sweats at the very least. Then, bringing the show to a close is a member of the audience, who is perhaps the first we've had who brandished a book as a prop and aid to her story - our listeners always go that extra mile.... | 234 DWSC LIVE: With Lisa McGee | 15 Mar 2023 | 00:50:39
This episode was recorded in the beautiful city of Belfast, as the team finally fulfilled their dream to take the show over to Ireland as part of The Out to Lunch Festival. It turns out the Irish make excellent detectives, and this week's guest, TV writer and creator of Derry Girls, Lisa McGee showed early signs of crime solving prowess - and it would appear to run in the family, as you'll hear. After hearing Lisa's amazing story, the team then venture into a case involving perhaps the vainest man in 1800s Norfolk, which is no mean feat, as soap had yet to be invented (citation needed). We then round things off with an astounding story from a member of the audience, which begs the question if sandwiches should be kept in a safe? | 232 DWSC LIVE: With Heidi Regan | 08 Mar 2023 | 01:00:55
The gang are back on stage in London for their first residency of 2023 in their brand new home of 21Soho! And what a night to remember it was, although if you're this week's guest detective Heidi Regan, you'll probably have to listen back to this to confirm you were there. Heidi started off proceedings by recounting the times her less than sharp powers of recall have aided and abetted criminal activity, almost always to the detriment of those who happen to be out with her. The team, along with the packed-out audience then crack a historical case, which features some names regular listeners will be very familiar with. Finally, we hear from a member of the audience who tells the kind of inflated story which could give you nightmares if you listen before bed... you have been warned. | 231 DWSC LIVE: With Kate McCabe | 01 Mar 2023 | 01:04:47
Time for part two of the gang's fantastic night at The Lowry in Salford, which was corked in late 2022 and now, finally ready for general consumption -although, no character called General Consumption features in this week's story, we do have a guest of the highest commend in comedian Kate McCabe. Kate kicks-off proceedings with a story that sounds like the beginning of every US teen horror movie but thankfully without the ending. The team then investigates a case which really pushes the coin in terms of believability but will also leave you in a head-spin. Finally, we hear from a member of the audience who either had the best, or worst teachers in the world ... you decide! The Drunk Women were thrilled to be back at the wonderful Lowry Theatre, Salford in late 2022 and are equally as thrilled to be sharing what happened on that fantastic night with you all today.Guest Kimia Etemadi was so eager to tell us her story of attempted vigilantism that she popped-out on stage a little early, and the comedy writer also showed some impressive skills when it came to solving a criminal conundrum involving a guy and his insatiable appetite. We then hear from a member of the audience who is well heeled when it comes to controlling the narrative - ouch! | 229 DWSC LIVE: With Janice Connolly | 15 Feb 2023 | 00:51:01
Following-on from last week's raucous show in Birmingham, this episode fills us in on what happened after the interval when the gang are joined by the brilliant comedian, actress and bus marauder, Janice Connolly! As well as leading the crowd in a feel-good sing along, Janice also shares with us the time some criminal activity burst the bubble on a perfect summers evening. We then get the bear facts of a true crime story, which has recently been made into a film - but, the people in the room heard it all first, another reason to come to see a live show! We then hear from a lovely audience member whose crime is also a lesson to some younger listeners about how life was before cameras were in our phones .. EDUCATIONAL! | 228 DWSC LIVE: With Tej Dhutia | 08 Feb 2023 | 00:56:28
The gang are in Birmingham this week (well, they were when they recorded the episode, anyway) and joining them in a jolly good time is the brilliant comedian Tej Dhutia! Tej begins proceedings with a criminal tale, which, had she realised was happening earlier could have changed the course of her life ... but only her mother knows the real answer to that question. The team then dissect a true crime case from history that explores the difference between boarding houses and boarding schools, if you could get kicked-out of either for doing some graffiti, or if 'fetch' really could ever happen. And finally, we hear from a member of the audience, with the voice of an angel and the crime story from hell - worth every drop of cava they won for sharing their story with us. | 227 Katie Pritchard's Extensive Knowledge | 01 Feb 2023 | 01:01:26
In today's fine episode of DWSC, comedian Katie Pritchard donned her authentic detective's jacket to help us get to the bottom of a true crime, but not before she revealed her own tale of criminal woe, which could have been the time her family was burgled, OR that the fridge freezer was IN HER BEDROOM - you decide. After a hefty discussion on the pros and cons of having white electrical goods in the room where you sleep, the team then solve a historical crime that takes us into the 'spirals of evil' which terrorised the people of Sheffield and that isn't easy to do! We then hear from a listener who may have the perpetrator of their crime living under the same roof... can the drunk detectives get to the bottom of that one? Listen to find out. The gang then head to their spiritual home, to sort out a pub-based crime against women with handbags. What a cracking start to 2023, as the Drunk Women unleash part two of their incredible sold-out show in Leeds, when they were joined by the brilliant comedian, Lauren Pattison. Lauren starts-off by telling us about the time the denial of a criminal act could possibly have been the crime itself, before going on to help the rest of the team uncover a story- which although notorious- is much misunderstood. although we do learn that prisons have chefs, oh la la. Finally, we hear an epic tale from a member of the audience, which will make you wish you had a dentist as a friend, if you don't already that is. The Drunk Women are casting their minds back to the fantastic double bill of shows they did in Leeds back in October 2022 and now invite you on that trip down memory lane too. Their first amazing guest was comedian Eme Essien, who opens the show with a story which carries some healthy lessons in fraud prevention, she learnt them for us, on more than one occasion. The team then get involved in a howling crime case which probably couldn't happen in modern day Norwich and hear from a member of the audience, who would rather DIE than spill one drop of wine - we always find our tribe. Arabella gets things going with a story from her days as a drama student, when it was practically EXPECTED to be in bed until at least the afternoon. The gang then solve a case which could provide some fun ideas of New Years' health resolutions, as long as someone can help you errmmm 'administer' the application. We're back in Liverpool for the second show of a lively double bill, and joining Catie, Taylor and Hannah on the stage after an adventurous interval is the incredible, comedian Harriet Dyer! As well as having one of the very best plans for vengeance you would have EVER heard, Harriet also entertains us with a crime which isn't dissimilar to common nightmare, but at least she can laugh at it now! The gang then get to grips with crime involving an unscrupulous landlord, hard to believe such a thing exists, I know! Then, lastly we hear from a member of the audience who may be familiar to some, although this time her story doesn't take place in Centre Parcs... You can watch the Drunk Women record an episode LIVE over Zoom on Thursday 15th December 2022 at 8pm GMT for details go to Patreon.com/DrunkWomenSolvingCrime AND you can see them in BELFAST on Sunday 22nd January 2023 at the Out To Lunch Festival! | 219: DWSC LIVE: With Nina Gilligan | 07 Dec 2022 | 00:48:44
Now that Men's Month is over for another year, Taylor, Hannah and Catie are proud to present the fruits of their fantastic tour of live shows around the UK, first-up we head to Liverpool, a city where the inhabitants know how to have a good time! Completing the team of liver birds for this incredible show is the hilarious comedian, Nina Gilligan. Nina is no stranger to law enforcement, even if she can be rather overzealous in her peacekeeping efforts, as strangers and family alike quickly learn. We then look into a crime committed against a star of the silver screen, although it's not like they were able to tell anyone about it. And finally, we get to hear from TWO members of the audience with crimes that need solving, although we're not sure the gang managed to *help*, they surely didn't make it worse. Ps- The boat trip enjoyed by Taylor on the Mersey WAS a cruise, producer Amanda has the ticket stub to prove it! #justicefortaylor Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE: In LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre. AND you can see them in BELFAST on Sunday 22nd January 2023 at the Out To Lunch Festival! AND they will be recording LIVE on Zoom for their Patreons on December 15th at 8pm, for access you can join them on.patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime Hosted on Acast. | 218: Men's Month: Ed Byrne | 30 Nov 2022 | 00:55:20
It's been another epic DWSC Men's Month, not only because we had five, count them FIVE men grace the show this year, but also because we welcomed some incredible guys and this week's incredible guy is kung-fu king and comedian Ed Byrne! Ed starts us off with some tales of criminal activity that have blighted his life, although it would also appear that he could set-up shop as a swag-bag supplier as a side hustle. The team then head to Tring to solve this week's case - and as we soon learn, nothing good ever happens in Tring! We then hear from a listener who gets some tough love from the team... which is also the name of your sex tape. Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE: In LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre. AND you can see them in BELFAST on Sunday 22nd January 2023 at the Out To Lunch Festival! | 217: MEN'S MONTH: With Mikey Day | 23 Nov 2022 | 01:09:46
The gang are cracking-on with Men's Month and it's time to go stateside, as this week's guest is none-other than star of 'Saturday Night Live' and 'Is it Cake?'...it's Mikey Day! Mikey proved to be an invaluable member of the force with the kind of detective skills worthy of NYPD, although his night spent in the slammer as a youth might mean his application is null and void - you'll have to listen to find out why Mikey did time inside and why he kept a Spiderman outfit in his car. The team then un-pick a right royal farce worthy of its own Netflix special, with a cast of players from just about every spectrum of life that you can imagine. We finally hear from a listener, who may be the victim or perpetrator of criminal activity, either way they are certainly no hero in a half shell. Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE: in BRISTOL, they are at The Hen and Chicken on 24th November in BIRMINGHAM, they are at The Glee on 25th November in SALFORD, they are at The Lowry on 26th November and then back in LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre. | 216: MEN'S MONTH: With Jamie Morton | 16 Nov 2022 | 01:03:37
Men's Month 2022 marches on and this episode saw podcast royalty being welcomed to the force, when Jamie Morton from the world-wide smash hit show 'My Dad Wrote a Porno' donned his detective hat and agreed to solve some true crime with us. Jamie kicked-off proceedings with a story from his youth which saw a house-hold name come to his rescue, in fact without this sporting legend, Jamie might not have been here to tell this tale at all! The team then digs deep into a case which brings up some interesting questions of logistics in the afterlife and how long it would take before one was just bored of being dead. And all of this also throws-up a fantastic story of what happened when Jamie met Liz Truss - who was at some point in her 44-day stint as British PM when this episode was recorded - the meeting goes pretty much as you would imagine. We then round it all off with a delightful listener crime which will make you want to not only keep your toothbrush in a cupboard, but also under lock and key. As you can hear, the team had tremendous fun recording this episode, so much fun that there was a fun induced 'incident' which had to be edited out, we did however decide to share it on our Patreon, so if your in any way curious, you can sign up for here: patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime Come and see the Drunk Women LIVE: in BRISTOL, they are at The Hen and Chicken on 24th November in BIRMINGHAM, they are at The Glee on 25th November in SALFORD, they are at The Lowry on 26th November and then back in LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre. | 215: MEN'S MONTH: With Nick Helm | 09 Nov 2022 | 00:59:34
The Men's Month parade continues, as Taylor, Catie and Hannah welcome 'friend of the pod' comedian Nick Helm to the force! Nick starts proceedings by sharing the time he encountered a criminal act and now as a result at least knows what he will say in such circumstances...and more importantly what pitch the word will come out. The team then get their hands dirty with a story which you may want to not accompany with a chocolate cake, in fact it's changed Nick forever, we really should check on him. Then, finally we hear from a listener, who has been rabbiting on about a case for years, let's hope the gang can finally solve it! | 214: MEN'S MONTH: With Bilal Zafar | 02 Nov 2022 | 00:53:49
It's that time again, yes, it's the Drunk Women Solving Crime MEN'S MONTH! And November 2022 has FIVE Wednesdays, so we have FIVE, yes count them, FIVE men to add to the DWSC force, and kicking things off for this epic season is the Brillant comic Bilal Zafar! We recorded with Bilal waaaaay back in the heady days of the Edinburgh Fringe, where he was also performing is incredible show 'Care'. Bilal started things off with a story of childhood theft, which may or may not have put his own parents in the frame, and then joined the rest of the crew in solving a crime which has been a plot device in a legendary comedy film and is also a lesson in how to do your crimeing 'right'. As always, we finish the show by hearing from a member of the audience, this one however got the memo wrong and CONFESSED to a crime she perpetrated that day...we'll let it slide this once, but guys, it's NOT what we asked ...she still got the prosecco though - CHEERS! in BRISTOL, they are at The Hen and Chicken on 24th November in BIRMINGHAM, they are at The Glee on 25th November in SALFORD, they are at The Lowry on 26th November and then back in LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre. | 302 Abi Clarke's Wrong Direction | 07 Aug 2024 | 00:56:02
Comedian Abi Clarke makes a welcome return to the precinct this week and shares a crime story that shows no criminal gang can compete with a bunch of One Direction fans, then helps to solve a case which even though it occurs in the last century, the women involved aren't all secretaries!Lastly the team dives into a case where an epidemic of garden furniture theft has a whole community on edge - but can our prosecco-fuelled force get to the bottom of the goings on? Have a listen to find out... Check out our Patreon page, for invites to our live zoom records, shout outs, ad free and early access to eps and LOTS MORE! Hosted on Acast. | 213: Fanny Sidney & The Crime of Grace | 26 Oct 2022 | 00:47:48
Oh la la, the Drunk Women have gone to Paris! Well, they SAW some of Paris from the back of the zoom of this week's fantastic guest, the star of ' Call My Agent', actor, Fanny Sidney! Although this was recorded remotely, the team still got to do this in front of an audience, as they decided to invite their lovely Patreons along for the ride too, with the added treat of the gorgeous Parisian backdrop also providing a contrast to the criminal activity the team discussed. Fanny started-off proceedings with a tale of a scammer who sure knew how to play the long game before the gang discussed a notorious cold case which happened to inspire none-other than Margret Atwood to write a book about it. And, as we were joined by a live audience, it was only right that we should hear from one of them at the end with their own true crime story, and it turns-out the Isle of Wight is a hotbed of criminal pursuits. Hannah was delighted! Taylor, Hannah and Catie will be appearing all over the UK in Autumn 2022: in BRISTOL, they are at The Hen and Chicken on 24th November in BIRMINGHAM, they are at The Glee on 25th November in SALFORD, they are at The Lowry on 26th November and then back in LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre. | 212: DWSC CAUGHT REDHANDED LIVE! | 25 Oct 2022 | 00:58:05
It's the union which was formed over a remote record in lockdown brought into real life technicolour! The amazing ladies of number one true crime podcast, Redhanded, have joined forces with the DWSC team to record their latest mash-up LIVE at the London Podcast Festival and what a night it was - with TWO Hannah's for the price of one- as Redhanded is made-up from the glorious, Hannah Maguire and Suruthi Bala, plus our very own Hannah George graced the stage alongside co-hosts Taylor Glenn and Catie Wilkins makes-up this true crime super group. This force of nature, then sets about solving a case which is anything but a pile of pants, but not before we hear from Suruthi, who regales us with a mystery in which we are well and truly put in her shoes. Finally, a lovely member of the audience shares a criminal activity which probably can only be solved in a lab...however no one made it worse. | 211 Jenny Collier: One Shady Lady | 19 Oct 2022 | 01:02:17
Nestled safely in their own homes after their hectic sell out run in Edinburgh, the Drunk Women welcome comedian Jenny Collier to the Zoom call, but they are not alone, because watching them - also nestled at home - is an audience of heroic Patreons, who were invited to see just how the sausage is made. And what a sausage it was, as we got to hear about the time Jenny was peeped at by a perp who only droned on at her when confronted. And then, the gang pick through a historical cold case set in what's said to be Britain's oldest pub - spoiler alert, this place's Airbnb score would be lower than a snake's belly - NO STARS! And finally, we hear from a member of our at home audience who recounts a crime that still needs solving, despite it happening during infant school! | 210 DWSC LIVE: With Rosie Holt | 12 Oct 2022 | 00:54:13
This week's episode is the final show recorded at the team's sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022, and they went out with a bang as their guest was the wonderful comedian, Rosie Holt! You would have seen Rosie online with her brilliant character parodying a right-wing mouthpiece, well on this show she came along as her delightful self and told us about *some* of the times she's been scammed ... seriously, it's a miracle she's got ANY money left at all. The gang then crack a case of royal proportions, which also happens to be fitting with their location at the time of record and we then hear from a member of the audience who could compare scam notes with Rosie, although they probably shouldn't go into business together. Taylor, Hannah, Catie (and producer Amanda) would like to thank everyone who came to see them at this year's fringe and made it such a special time, they'll be back in Edinburgh in 2023, but in the meantime, you can catch them on tour, details below, Taylor, Hannah and Catie will be appearing all over the UK in Autumn 2022: in LEEDS, they are at The Wardrobe on 16th October -/thewardrobe.seetickets.com/event/drunk-women-solving-crime/the-wardrobe/2373626 in BRISTOL, they are at The Hen and Chicken on 24th November - www.henandchicken.com/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list&tribe-bar-date=2022-11-24 in BIRMINGHAM, they are at The Glee on 25th November - booking.glee.co.uk/19283 in SALFORD, they are at The Lowry on 26th November - thelowry.com/whats-on/drunk-women-solving-crime-2/ and then back in LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre - leicestersquaretheatre.com/drunk-women-solving-crime/ And you can also support them on Patreon where you'll find ad free episodes, prior access to some records, invites to live zooms and shout outs! patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime Hosted on Acast. | 209 DWSC LIVE: With Rachel Harper | 05 Oct 2022 | 00:48:40
The Drunk Women are still in Edinburgh, if only in podcast form as the penultimate show from their sell-out Edinburgh run hits the airwaves and joining them in this endeavour is actor comedian and writer Rachel Harper! Rachel starts us off with a story that will have you swiping left at both the guys involved. We then hear about a crime from history which shows that blood is definitely thicker than water...or milk in this case, but that you can always trust the women of the family to save the day! We round things off nicely with a crime from a member of the audience, which is possibly a modern Cinderella story, or probably about as far away from a fairy-tale as you can get. | 208 DWSC LIVE: With Charlie George | 28 Sep 2022 | 00:52:51
This week's episode is another brilliant show courtesy of the gang's sell-out run at the Edinburgh Fringe and helping them along with the mayhem is guest Charlie George (no relation to Hannah). Charlie opens the show with a heart-breaking story of a summer's fun lost at the hands of a callous conman - it's a good thing she's such a good comedian and can make us all laugh about her tale of woe! The group then put their heads together to solve a cold case which upholds everything your mother told you about talking to strangers. We are then treated to not one, not two, but THREE crimes from the audience, proving that it's good things that come in threes after all! AND Taylor, Hannah and Catie will be appearing all over the UK in Autumn 2022: in LEEDS, they are at The Wardrobe on 16th October -/thewardrobe.seetickets.com/event/drunk-women-solving-crime/the-wardrobe/2373626 in BRISTOL, they are at The Hen and Chicken on 24th November - www.henandchicken.com/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list&tribe-bar-date=2022-11-24 in BIRMINGHAM, they are at The Glee on 25th November - booking.glee.co.uk/19283 in SALFORD, they are at The Lowry on 26th November - thelowry.com/whats-on/drunk-women-solving-crime-2/ and then back in LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre - leicestersquaretheatre.com/drunk-women-solving-crime/ Hosted on Acast. | 207 DWSC LIVE: With Rachel Fairburn | 21 Sep 2022 | 00:54:22
As we continue to share the fun of this year's Edinburgh run with you all, it's time to bring-out the true crime big guns, as Taylor, Hannah & Catie welcomes one of the best-known names of the genre, she's one half of hit podcast 'All Killa, No Filla', Rachel Fairburn! Yes, there were audible gasps from the crowd as Rachel was introduced to the stage, which is no surprise, as not only does she dominate the true crime charts but is also one of the best-known names on the comedy circuit and not only can she talk about and solve true crime, but she also has a tale or three of her own to bring to the table, which starts things off very nicely We then all find out that one of Scotland's biggest ne'er-do-wells was called Gregor McGregor.... which probably means his parents either didn't like him, or had a total lack of imagination. We then finish the show-off with an epic story from an audience member which will leave you with a hankering for a massive burrito... Bon appetite! | 206 DWSC LIVE: With Abi Clarke | 14 Sep 2022 | 00:54:21
In this week's episode, the packed Edinburgh Fringe audience were treated to the presence of hilarious comedian, YouTuber and crime fighter, Abi Clarke! It's very clear in the crime Abi shares at the start of the show, that she was born to do this podcast, and has probably invented a new crime-fighting character, it's so handy that she's already got the costume! The group then delves into a case which could be a truly victimless crime, at the very least one which produced its own merchandise and I'll bet my bottom dollar, that you'll love the perp in the end... And finally, we hear from a member of the audience, who gives us an insight into being both the victim and perp of criminal activity ... and let's just say, that being on the wrong side of the law NEVER pays, so don't do it kids! The Drunk Women Solving Crime Edinburgh Odyssey continues a-pace, and this episode is a real treasure trove of laughs, in large part thanks to an absolute gem of a guest, comedian Dee Allum! Dee takes us back to her uni days when she peddles a criminal tale which will have you on the edge of your saddle - we then hear a story which sees us set-sail on the high seas, either the Pacific, or the one next to it, no one’s sure. Finally, a willing member of the audience gives us all a tip in staying vigilant to avoid becoming another crime statistic...let's hope she managed to keep hold of her prize prosecco until she was ready to drink it! | 204: DWSC LIVE: With Janey Godley | 31 Aug 2022 | 00:54:07
It's another wee dram of Edinburgh gold this week, as we uncork an episode recorded at the Fringe with Scotland's finest, comedian and real life Trump troll, Janey Godley! Janey graces us all with her presence during the sell-out run and kicks things-off with a crime anecdote with an explosive beginning, middle and end. We then all get to hear about a story which should have starred the Culkin brothers and we pity the fool who *didn't* make that film back in the day. Then, we round-off the show with a member of the audience telling us about some criminal activity which he managed to solve without using violence, much to Janey's disappointment. | 203 DWSC LIVE: With Janeane Garofalo | 24 Aug 2022 | 00:50:18
Taylor, Hannah and Catie are so thrilled to share the shows from their amazing sell-out run of Edinburgh 2022 with you all, and this episode is the fruits of an extra performance they were required to put-on as a result of the high demand. But, that wasn't the only memorable thing about the occasion, as they got to share the stage with comedy royalty (and personal hero) Janeane Garofalo! Yes, this legend of film and stand-up not only joined the force with gusto, but shared a crime story from her life which might make you look twice at any notebooks you see lying around.... The team then flex their little, grey cells to solve a case surrounding one of the icons of the 20th centaury and a crime that happened in ONE of it's decades ... don't get hung-up on the details... | 202: DWSC LIVE with Lucy Porter | 17 Aug 2022 | 00:54:07
The Drunk Women share the second episode of their 2022 sell-out Edinburgh run and are joined by another corker of a return guest, the legend that is, comedian Lucy Porter! Lucy opens the show by sharing a crime which took place at an Edinburgh Fringe of yesteryear, but perhaps the perpetrator was trying to do her a favour, either way, it's a bloody disgrace! The gang then look into a case from history in which the lead character gets in a bit of a pickle, but do they end-up on the right track? Listen to find out... And to top it off, we hear what has to be the best audience crime EVER ... either that, or it's all part of an elaborate alibi and now we're all implicated! DWSC are at The London Podcast Festival on Thursday 15th September 2022, with a VERY special show - keep watching out for details. www.kingsplace.co.uk/whats-on/london-podcast-festival/drunk-women-solving-crime/ AND Taylor, Hannah and Catie will be appearing all over the UK in Autumn 2022: in LIVERPOOL, they are at The Everyman on 10th September - tickets.everymanplayhouse.com/events in LEEDS, they are at The Wardrobe on 16th October -/thewardrobe.seetickets.com/event/drunk-women-solving-crime/the-wardrobe/2373626 in BRISTOL, they are at The Hen and Chicken on 24th November - www.henandchicken.com/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list&tribe-bar-date=2022-11-24 in BIRMINGHAM, they are at The Glee on 25th November - booking.glee.co.uk/19283 in SALFORD, they are at The Lowry on 26th November - thelowry.com/whats-on/drunk-women-solving-crime-2/ and then back in LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre - leicestersquaretheatre.com/drunk-women-solving-crime/ Don't forget, you can support Drunk Women Solving Crime on Patreon and have access to early announcements, extra content, zoom records, ad free episodes, shout outs AND MORE - www.patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime Hosted on Acast. | 201: DWSC LIVE: With Lou Sanders | 10 Aug 2022 | 00:52:36
Can't be at the Edinburgh Fringe 2022? No problem, we'll bring it to your ears, as Drunk Women Solving Crime are currently enjoying a sell-out run there and welcoming some fantastic guests who are also appearing at the festival. Today's episode is their first show, featuring the wonderful Lou Sanders! Being the incredible comic she is, Lou needs no introduction, but introduces herself to us with a duo of crimes, which vary is style and effect, raising more than a few laughs in the room. We then hear about an historical case about a notorious location which you might *think* you know everything about - but prepare to be AMAZED, with some facts only Taylor could find, plus there's a revelation in store for Catie, who learns a thing or two about The Chanel Tunnel - and they say you can't drink AND learn.... Finally, we hear from a member of the audience, who has set the bar SO high for the rest of the run with their crime tale, that almost completes that segment of the show. DWSC are at The Edinburgh Festival until 14th August 2022, including an extra show on Saturday 13th August at 2:20pm featuring special guest Janeane Garofalo! AND Taylor, Hannah and Catie will be appearing all over the UK in Autumn 2022: in LIVERPOOL, they are at The Everyman on 10th September - tickets.everymanplayhouse.com/events in LEEDS, they are at The Wardrobe on 16th October -/thewardrobe.seetickets.com/event/drunk-women-solving-crime/the-wardrobe/2373626 in BRISTOL, they are at The Hen and Chicken on 24th November - www.henandchicken.com/events/?tribe_paged=1&tribe_event_display=list&tribe-bar-date=2022-11-24 in BIRMINGHAM, they are at The Glee on 25th November - booking.glee.co.uk/19283 in SALFORD, they are at The Lowry on 26th November - thelowry.com/whats-on/drunk-women-solving-crime-2/ and then back in LONDON for their Christmas show at Leicester Square Theatre - leicestersquaretheatre.com/drunk-women-solving-crime/ Don't forget, you can support Drunk Women Solving Crime on Patreon and have access to early announcements, extra content, zoom records, ad free episodes, shout outs AND MORE - www.patreon.com/drunkwomensolvingcrime Hosted on Acast.
