we live in a time that pushes the idea that the journey towards success means less sleep, less self care, and no time to waste. and unfortunately, the two of us fall into this funnel more often than not. we have big dreams that we're trying to fulfill. we get caught in tunnel visioning towards our goals, and forget all of the other wonderful things that life has to offer overworking and burnout is real, as much as we like to push them aside and mask it as "hustling". we kind of made this episode to remind ourselves to put the phone down more often and take a second to appreciate where we've gotten in out lives, compared to where we were a few years back, and we hope that our words inspire you to do the same

we had to put a lot of our dreams on pause because we had to responsibilities and expectations at home. we couldn't just leave because of money burdens, taking care of our parents, or maybe even because in south asian culture, the girl is expected to just stay at home. it's hard to be patient when you see your friends or family members moving forward and doing things that you've always wanted to do. in this episode, we discuss some of the dreams that we had to wait on due to the restrictions we had at home.

in south asian culture, it is really hard to express yourself through fashion because you're subject to negative comments from your parents or the community, your body becomes extremely sexualized, or you feel like you can't comfortably wear something because of your gender. one of us dealt with comments of being less masculine because of their experimentation with fashion while the other constantly heard comments about covering up when in the presence of male family members or visitors. in this episode, we talk about our different male/ female perspectives with fashion and all of the difficult times we had it with it growing up.

we heard a quote recently by the late nipsey hussle (rip) that goes, "the reasonable man adapts himself to the world. the unreasonable ones persists in trying to adapt the world to himself. therefore, all progress in the world depends on the unreasonable man." in the south asian community, any individual that's en route to pursuing a career outside of the traditional ones, the ones we're all aware of, they're pretty much given the side eye. the two of us are currently following a path into the arts, but the journey definitely hasn't been just a walk in the park. in this episode, we dive deeper into the reasoning behind why we're so persistent in pursuing our odd paths, the different struggles and roadblocks we've faced along the way, and share some of our listener's responses to what obstacles they're actively working through in their lives. listen to us in explaining why we chose to go against the grain in our community and become the unreasonable ones.
