Yasmin George graduated from Guy’s Hospital Dental School in 1988. She is a teacher at The Pankey Institute in Florida, US, and a former member of the Panel of Examiners for the Certificate in Dental Sedation for Nurses. Nadeem Zafar graduated from Guy’s Hospital in 1994. In 2000, he went on to complete a master’s degree in implantology with the Eastman Institute before returning to Guy’s as a clinical tutor. He has also held associate professorships in universities in South America.

Prof. Dr Sérgio Rocha Bernardes earned a BDS from the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil. He gained specialist status in dental prosthesis and implantology at the APCD/Bauru in São Paulo and the Federal Dental Council, respectively.

He also holds an MSc in Oral Rehabilitation from the Federal University of Uberlandia, and a  PhD in Oral Rehabilitation from São Paulo University/FORP, Brazil, with collaborative research at the Eastman Dental Institute, London. 

Sérgio has published books on implants, immediate loading, guided surgery and prosthesis. 

He is a professor a the Latin American Institute of Dental Research and Education in Brazil and the head of new product development and clinical practice at Neodent.

Barely two years after graduating, Faris Elsayed already runs a successful startup and one of the profession’s most popular social channels.  

He chats with Payman about his YouTube alter ego, Faris Dent, shares insights from life on the road as a sales rep with aligner brand 32Co, and discusses the highs and lows of entrepreneurialism. 

Faris also talks about his faith, charity work, and personal drive to make a lasting impression on dentistry and the wider world.

Doug Watt graduated from Birmingham University in 2003 and is now a partner at a practice in Royal Leamington Spa.

Fareeda studied dentistry in Romania before moving to the UK to gain a master’s degree in dental implantology.

She was the principal dentist at Park View Dental in North West London from 2000 to 2010 and has been the principal at Harrow on the Hill dental practice since 2010.

Specialist prosthodontist Farid qualified from Guy’s Hospital in 1997, where he went on to complete postgraduate training in prosthodontics.

About Sumair Khan

Dr Sumair Khan is an implantologist, educator and owner of three dental practices. 

He holds an MSc in Implant Dentistry, a Diploma in Restorative Dentistry, and Postgraduate Certificates in Medical/Dental Education and Leadership Coaching and Mentoring. 

Sumair's teaching career includes roles as an Oral Surgery lecturer, Educational Supervisor, and Training Program Director. He has also served as Associate Dean for NHS Health Education England.

Dr riz Syed graduated in 1999 and spent time working in the oral maxillo-facial surgery department of Royal London Hospital.

He gained a master’s degree in restorative dentistry from the University of California and has also completed training in advanced oral plastic surgery in Dallas, Texas.

He is a prolific surgeon, lecturer, and mentor who often teaches on behalf of Nobel Biocare.

Prav Solanki is an entrepreneur and dental marketer who has purchased, developed and exited a successful group of clinics. He is the director of The Fresh dental marketing and growth agency and founder of Leadflo—an advanced lead management system for dental practices.  

Since landing in London via Madrid and New York, Sandra Garcia Martin has made a name as one of cosmetic dentistry’s leading lights.

Sandra chats with Prav about the challenges of learning a new language to study dentistry, training with some of dentistry’s greatest in New York and why engaging with good causes should be on the curriculum for every clinician.

Sandra Garcia Martin graduated from Barcelona University in 2007. She completed master’s degrees in periodontology and dental implants and later in aesthetic dentistry at New York University. She has also trained with Larry Rosenthal and Mike Apa.

Sandra now practices in London, where she recently launched the Veneer School cosmetic dentistry course and online community.
