This week Dance Specific Talks want to highlight the upcoming dance workshop series in Amsterdam: #FeelingsFirst
This information is coming from the Instagram live session Sabou & T-zer had about why they are offering a brand new experience of dance and personal development!
About #FeelingsFirst: When taking dance workshops, something we’ve experienced first hand was this: Going there excited, thinking we’ll be sharing, connecting with people, screaming, enjoying ourselves whilst actually DANCING… When in fact, it was mostly all about technique, performance, competition, cameras, ego, showing off… and so on.
Which is completely fine, but not for us. We Dance because we crave connections to self and to others; Because Dance reveals our unique talents as human beings; Because Dance enables us to express our emotions and exceptional stories; Because Dance helps us understand our bodies and get into motion no matter what life brings us; Because Dance is Life itself.
#FeelingsFirst Dance Workshops Series is born out of one thought: make you EXPERIENCE dance and go through a journey of understanding, connecting, expressing, and sharing.
With yourself, AND with others.
We’re going to:
Finding you — let our curiosity guide us towards finding our gifts as dancers;
Embracing you — scratch those layers and reveal, own and embrace the unique dancer that lies in you;
Sharing you — let that bomb ass of a dancer you are shine, and share their story with the world!
AFRO, DANCEHALL and HIGH HEELS on the menu for you to explore and expand your dance journey towards more enjoyment, love and movement freedom.
Level is OPEN TO EVERYONE, and we'll be challenging both our beginners & intermediate Queens and the workshops all include:

The Dutch b-boy who created his own artistic journey! - Simon Bus
13 Sep 2021
00:47:12
ARTIST: Simon Bus COUNTRY: The Netherlands 🇳🇱 WEBSITE: www.Bus-Simon.com
For Simon, breakdance is synonymous with uniqueness and originality. As a b-boy, he develops his own movement language from which being a maker is only a small step. Exploring the extreme possibilities of his own body, he increasingly investigates other bodies. The starting point for his work is a mix of fascinations for the discomfort of everyday life and the resilience and expressiveness of the body. The game between having control and losing control is a recurring element in this. Besides breakdance as the ultimate source of inspiration, he finds points of departure in Butoh and in the work of Albert Camus, Egon Schiele, Jim Jarmusch and David Lynch. Like Shane Boers, Simon feels inspired in his makership by Instinctive Performance, the specific approach to movement with which Guilherme Miotto stimulates people to open the body, activate the personal layers of physical knowledge and encourage dancers to dialogue with their technique. instead of just executing it. (text from talenthubbrabant.nl)
Kamilla Lil’K is a dancer, artist, and event organizer, a personality who radiates positivity and originality! It is a person who opens her soul by dancing. She travels, she searches, she discovers, she creates, and shares. “Most of my inspiration comes from my own experiences and from the stories of people I meet. I am fascinated by how each of us moves naturally, what is hidden behind each of our movements, and what thoughts spin when we move. ” That’s how Kamilla expresses herself through movement today, inspired by DANCE in every sense. Both in dance battles, conducting workshops, performing on stage, and creating in the same way. (skillz.lt)
