Dad’s Bedtime Stories is the family-friendly podcast that turns listener ideas into immersive bedtime adventures kids (and parents) can enjoy together.

I originally created these stories for my own children on nights when they couldn’t fall asleep. What started as a simple bedtime ritual has grown into a world of imagination designed to help families wind down together at the end of the day.

Play an episode for your kids and encourage them to imagine they are the hero of the story — exploring distant planets, training dragons, discovering magic, or traveling through space — all while lying safely in bed with their eyes closed.

Each 15–30 minute adventure is filled with science fiction and fantasy themes kids love: spaceships, dinosaurs, dragons, wizards, and whatever wild idea we dream up next. The stories are exciting, creative, and always safe for young listeners.

When the adventure ends, the episode gently transitions into calming music to reduce distractions and help your child drift off to sleep — giving you a quiet moment to step out of the room and enjoy some well-earned alone time.

Imagination first. Sleep second. Peace and quiet third.

Tonight, we learn the background of Drake, the general of the Fire Dragons, and how he powers up the fire dragons using the sun. It shifts back to your own perspective at the end, where you and the others plan the attack on the Fire Dragon Stronghold. This episode sets up the next one, which will be a big battle against the Fire Dragon Stronghold.

About the Dragon Knights - In a world taken over by the Dragon King, the only hope is for a new group of dragon knights to find and link with dragon eggs. You happen to be one of those knights! Each dragon has a connection to an element, and each Dragon Knight can command that same element.

Dad's Bedtime Coloring Book

In this book, a kid named Alex accidentally discovers that he can manipulate time. While he tries to keep it a secret, he is found out within days, and invited, or possibly manipulated, into attending a Superhero Academy in the middle of the Canadian Wilderness.

That's right friends, I am finally doing it. I am finally writing the book that has been inside my head for 15 years now! You will notice elements of my past stories in it, because I borrowed many of them from this concept. Kid Wizard, for example, is based on an extreme version of this idea. In this book, a kid named Alex accidentally discovers that he can manipulate time. While he tries to keep it a secret, he is found out within days, and invited, or possibly manipulated, into attending a Superhero Academy in the middle of the Canadian Wilderness.

I decided to do the first draft of each chapter in my usual fashion - directly into the microphone. I will then take the transcript and edit it into a more refined chapter. Both will be posted on Patreon as soon as they are done!

About The Podcast:

Kids won’t sleep? Want some time to yourself? This is how to make it happen! I make these bedtime stories up for my own children every night, so I figured I would record them. They are designed to give your child a simple, but somewhat interesting story to listen to. They are first person stories so kids can imagine themselves in the character’s shoes. They are mostly science fiction and fantasy based, because that’s what my kids like. Each episode is a 15-30 minute story followed by white noise to drown out distractions. The character always ends up back in bed, doing a short mindful relaxation exercise to help them off to sleep (if they aren’t there already). Get those kids to sleep!
