Currency Roundtable: A Discussion Group From Paper Currency YouTube Channels
Polar Currency
Fréquence : 1 épisode/20j. Total Éps: 15

The Currency Roundtable came about because we, as Paper Currency YouTubers, wanted to promote more quality content and discussion about paper currency on YouTube. We also thought it would be fun to talk and just have a conversation with each other. This first panel is really an introduction to ourselves, what we collect and why we started our YouTube channels. We also want to promote other channels and we'll always have a few shout outs.

Our Recommendation for Attainable U.S. Currency Type Set
Saison 1 · Épisode 11
jeudi 28 novembre 2024 • Durée 01:04:03
Originally published 10/31/24 to YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@polarcurrency
The Currency Roundtable has put together a recommendation for an Attainable U.S. Currency Type Set list. The link to the list is below and is a Google Sheets document that is read only. The list also includes Small Size U.S. and Fractional banknotes. The Roundtable discusses what aspects should or should not or could or could not be part of the list. This includes different Treasury Seals, overprints, minor plate changes or different reverses. There are times when we agree to disagree and move on. The Large Size list uses a max price of $3,000 which is a lot of money but most of the notes are valued from $200 - $1,000 because of the grades being used, which are lower VG 8. The list hopefully provides a good starting point.

Many thanks to the panelist who have donated their time and knowledge to promote the hobby of paper money collecting. We didn't get through all the questions but part 2 is coming in later January!

Currency Roundtable 15
Saison 1 · Épisode 15
dimanche 31 août 2025 • Durée 54:36
The Currency Roundtable Panel goes into what we individually collect and why for video #15. Before that we start out responding to a viewer question about how does EPQ/PPQ (Exceptional Paper Quality for PMG and Premium Paper Quality for PCGS Bank Note) affect the market prices and if we think it’s important to collect EPQ/PPQ. At the end we have a short discussion on what U.S. Large Size National Bank Notes should be called. Within the “Nationals” collector community there is a movement to “correct” a wrong regarding using the term First, Second and Third Charter Period terms.

U.S. Large Size Notes We Recommend For All Price Points
Saison 1 · Épisode 5
jeudi 28 novembre 2024 • Durée 01:04:56
Originally published 2/19/24 to YouTube channel https://www.youtube.com/@polarcurrency
The 5th Roundtable answers this question: What large size notes would you recommend to a new paper money collector? There’s not an easy answer because price always comes into play. To account for multiple budgets we all of the notes can be purchased in a low, medium and high range. Low $100-$300, Medium $300-$700 and High over $700. These are notes that we all feel that every collector should have in their collection no matter the price or condition. They are all classic large size notes that come with a story.
