124. Identity before Roles: Learning to Trust God26 Dec 202500:36:41

At the time this episode is airing, it’s December 26. Wherever this Christmas season found you—full of joy, quiet reflection, grief, complexity, or somewhere in between—I hope you were able to encounter God’s presence in a meaningful way.

Today’s episode is a little different.

I’m replaying the most listened-to episode of Curious for Christ of all time:
“Struggling to Trust God in Gender Roles,” a thoughtful and grace-filled conversation with author and evangelist Gordon Ferguson.

This conversation continues to resonate deeply because beneath questions about roles—whether in marriage, family, work, or ministry—there is something even more foundational:

identity.

Identity Before Roles

One of the clearest things God revealed to me this past year is this:

Before He builds anything through us, He builds something within us.

Identity is the foundation of everything.

When our sense of worth is rooted in productivity, performance, approval, guilt, or even “doing the right thing,” exhaustion eventually follows. Even good and godly goals can wear us down if they’re built on the wrong foundation.

Scripture reminds us in Psalm 127:1:

“Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.”

If God isn’t the one building, sustaining, and leading—no amount of effort will ever feel like enough.

A Year of Shedding and Surrender

This past year was a season of shedding for me—unlearning patterns, expectations, and beliefs that had quietly placed distance between me and God. While that process wasn’t easy, I’m deeply grateful for it.

God gently reminded me of something simple and freeing:

I am first His child.
Not a role.
Not a result.
Not a résumé.

Jesus is enough.
God is enough.

As a woman, I’ve spent many years wrestling with who I thought I needed to be, how I thought I needed to show up, and what I thought faithfulness required of me. What God has patiently shown me is this:

Before anything else, I am His daughter—and I am deeply loved.

And whatever He places on my heart, even if no one around me sees it or understands it, I can walk in peace knowing that He does.

Why This Conversation Still Matters

That’s why I wanted to replay this episode.

Because when identity is rooted in God, roles stop being a burden—and trust begins to grow.

This conversation with Gordon Ferguson explores Scripture with depth, humility, and compassion, inviting us to step away from fear-based striving and into trust rooted in who God says we are.

I invite you to listen again—or perhaps for the first time—with fresh ears and an open heart.

Thank you so much for listening.

My prayer is that this conversation reminds you that God is far more interested in your faith than simply in what you do. As we move toward a new year, may your identity be deeply rooted in Him—and may everything else flow from that place of peace, knowing you are deeply loved.

123. Could Sharing Your Faith Be the Answer to Anxiety? Featuring Greg Stier, CEO of Dare 2 Share Ministries12 Dec 202500:28:23

In this powerful and heartfelt episode of Curious for Christ, Alexandra sits down with Greg Stier, Founder & CEO of Dare 2 Share Ministries, to explore a surprising and deeply encouraging truth:

Sharing your faith may actually be one of the most healing practices for anxiety—especially during this season.

Greg opens up about his own dramatic childhood story, growing up in a violent, broken family that was transformed by the Gospel through one man’s courage to share Jesus. That transformation shaped Greg’s mission: to equip teenagers, parents, and leaders to confidently share their faith and ignite Gospel movements across the nation.

Together, Alexandra and Greg discuss:

✨ What You’ll Hear in This Episode

  • Greg’s incredible testimony and how God rescued his family from chaos and fear
  • Why teenagers are uniquely positioned to spark revival
  • How evangelism isn’t just another church program—it’s actually where our faith grows the deepest
  • The powerful connection between sharing the Gospel and overcoming anxiety
  • How Greg helped his own daughter battle crippling anxiety through dependence on the Holy Spirit
  • New research from A Generation in Reach showing:
    • 3x overall youth ministry growth
    • 10x more Gospel conversations
    • 3x more students discipling other students
  • Why parents are the #1 spiritual influencers—and how modeling faith-sharing transforms families
  • The difference between “come and see” Christianity and the “go and rescue” mission of Jesus
  • Practical steps to help teens and adults start sharing their faith with courage and love

💬 Key Takeaway

Evangelism isn’t about pressure—it’s about participation.
When we step out in faith and depend on the Holy Spirit, our anxiety diminishes, our joy increases, and our relationship with Jesus grows deeper. Sharing the Gospel isn’t just for others; it’s also for our own healing.

114. Is Your Body Tensing Up? 3 Steps to Find Peace with God in a Tense Relationship19 Sep 202500:09:51

In this episode, host Alexandra explores the physical and spiritual reasons behind our body’s “fight, flight, or freeze” response. She talks about how physical tension—the tight shoulders, clenched jaw, or knot in your stomach—is a signal that our nervous system perceives a threat. However, as believers, we can use this moment of awareness as an invitation to lean into our faith. Alexandra offers three practical, faith-based steps to stay grounded and present with God, even in difficult conversations or moments of stress. This episode is a guide to moving from a place of fear to a place of trust, using our bodies as a tool for worship and connection with Christ.

The 3 Steps:

  1. Awareness: The first step to staying grounded is simply noticing your physical reaction without judgment. This is a form of “taking every thought captive” and bringing it to God, as described in 2 Corinthians 10:5: "We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ."
  2. Breath: Use your breath—a gift from God—to center yourself. Practice deep, intentional breathing as an act of stillness, connecting your body to the present moment and God's presence, as Psalm 46:10 reminds us to “Be still, and know that I am God.”
  3. God’s Truth: When your mind spirals with fear, consciously replace those thoughts with God's truth. Recall verses like 1 John 4:18, which says "There is no fear in love. But perfect love drives out fear," and remind yourself that you are safe and loved in Him.

Call to Action:

This week, notice your body's tension without judgment but with curiosity. Use your breath as a tool for stillness, and lean on God's truth to anchor you in His love instead of your fear.

And remember, God's love is always near...

23. God's Unexpected Gifts: Why Discontent Can Be a Blessing26 Apr 202400:09:15

This episode is about exploring the theme of discontentment and longing for more in life, despite being surrounded by blessings. I delve into the idea that feelings of discontentment can be a catalyst for personal growth and reflection. I share a personal story of how God answered my prayers by granting me a real estate business in the luxury market, which brought unexpected stress and uncertainty but ultimately led to self-discovery and growth. I emphasize the importance of understanding one's core values and priorities, navigating challenges, and finding fulfillment amidst life's uncertainties through faith and self-reflection.

Here are the key takeaways from this episode with Bible verses:

1. Discontent Can Be a Catalyst for Growth (Romans 12:2):
The yearning for "more" might not be ingratitude, but a nudge from God to become a better version of yourself (Romans 12:2 says, "Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God’s will is—his good, pleasing and perfect will.").

2. Sometimes We're Not Ready for "More" Yet (James 1:17):
Perhaps the things we crave require personal growth before we can truly handle them. As James 1:17 reminds us, "every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, coming down from the Father of the heavenly lights, who does not change like shifting shadows." God's timing is perfect, and He may be preparing you for something even better.

3. Challenges Can Reveal Hidden Needs (Ecclesiastes 3:13, Ephesians 4:29):
Difficult experiences, like the unexpected stress of your luxury real estate career, can expose areas in our lives that need attention (Ecclesiastes 3:13 emphasizes, "to enjoy their work, this too is a gift from God."). They can also reveal hidden fears or a need for better communication in your marriage (Ephesians 4:29 advises, "Do not let any unwholesome talk come out of your mouths, but only what is helpful for building others up according to their needs, so that it may benefit those who listen.").

4. Re-evaluation Leads to Fulfillment (Proverbs 3:5-6):
The discomfort of discontent can be a catalyst for self-discovery and ultimately guide you towards a more fulfilling path. Proverbs 3:5-6 offers guidance: "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."

5. There's Hope, Even When Plans Change (Philippians 2:3-4):
Even if your initial desires don't pan out exactly as planned, the journey itself can lead to a deeper understanding of yourself and purpose. Philippians 2:3-4 provides encouragement: "Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each to the interests of the others." God may have a different, but even better, path for you.

22. Inner Child + Holy Spirit = Creative Powerhouse19 Apr 202400:18:09

This episode takes you on a deeply personal journey of self-discovery sparked by a recent experience at a podcast festival. A little different from the previous two episodes (also at the podcast festival)...

Instead, I'm sharing a raw and unfiltered audio recording of my thoughts during a vulnerable time at the festival. It might not have been what I planned, but it turned out to be a treasure trove of crucial information for my personal growth.

Key Takeaways:

  1. To be content, I need to explore what makes my heart happy, while listening to the Spirit. (Jeremiah 17:9)
  2. Embracing creativity helps me navigate challenges and be resourceful to find solutions. (John 14:26)
  3. I'm not walking this path alone; there's guidance along the way. (Psalm 23:1-2)
  4. By laying down solid foundations (with the help of the Holy Spirit), I can build something lasting and more fulfilling. (1 Corinthians 3:12-13)
  5. I don't need to conform to the stereotype (like the image of the struggling artist). (Ephesians 2:10)
  6. Knowing that God cares about every aspect of my life brings me comfort and reminds me that I am deeply loved. I can be myself. God made me this way. (Psalm 139:13-14)

21. Unshakeable Worth: The Key to Building a Thriving Business and a Fulfilling Life12 Apr 202400:10:32

Feeling discouraged or stuck in your business (or even in life)?  This episode explores the hidden battlefield within us all and how a shift in mindset towards unshakeable worth can unlock true success and fulfillment.

Key Takeaways:

  • The internal struggle we face can be a reflection of the spiritual battle between good and evil (Ephesians 6:12). By strengthening our faith, we gain the tools to overcome these internal challenges.
  • Your worth is not tied to accomplishments, money, or external validation. You are created in God's image and your value is immeasurable (Genesis 1:27).
  • Shifting from a scarcity mindset to an abundance mindset allows you to operate from a place of joy and fulfillment, trusting in God's provision (Philippians 4:19).
  • Building a business with unshakeable worth rooted in your faith allows you to focus on your gifts and serve others as an extension of God's love (Romans 12:6).
  • This mindset shift extends beyond business, impacting all areas of your life for a more fulfilling experience, allowing you to live a life that glorifies God (Colossians 3:23).

20. You can use your gifts and surrender to God's will! This is how...05 Apr 202400:16:52

This episode explores how surrendering to God's plan, even at a podcast festival, can lead to unexpected creative breakthroughs and a deeper connection with your inner voice.

Here are the key takeaways:

1. Trusting God's Creative Flow:

  • We can plan and schedule, but ultimately, God guides our paths. Surrendering to His plan allows Him to weave unexpected detours into opportunities for growth and creativity. (Proverbs 16:9: "The heart of man plans his way, but the Lord establishes his steps" (NIV))

2. Listening to Your Inner Voice:

  • The Holy Spirit can speak to us through intuition and a sense of peace. Discerning that voice and following its gentle nudges can lead us down unexpected but divinely-orchestrated paths. (Romans 8:14: "For those who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God." (NIV))

3. Embracing the Unknown:

  • Stepping outside our comfort zones and embracing the unfamiliar can be scary, but it's often where God leads us to experience new things and discover hidden potential. Faith allows us to trust that He will guide us even in the unknown. (Hebrews 11:1: "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see." (NIV))

4. Self-Care is Essential:

  • Just as Jesus prioritized time for prayer and solitude, prioritizing rest and self-care allows us to be more receptive to God's leading and creatively replenish ourselves. (Mark 1:35: "Very early in the morning, while it was still dark, Jesus got up, left the house and went off to a solitary place, where he prayed." (NIV))

5. The Importance of Play and Exploration:

  • God created us with the capacity for joy and exploration. Following a playful curiosity and allowing ourselves to explore new things can lead to unexpected creative breakthroughs. (Proverbs 17:22: "A joyful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones." (NIV))

6. Rekindling Your Inner Child:

  • The Bible encourages us to retain a childlike faith and wonder. Reconnecting with that playful, creative part of ourselves can open doors to new possibilities. (Matthew 18:3: "Truly I tell you, unless you change and become like little children, you will never enter the kingdom of heaven." (NIV))

7. God Uses All Experiences for Our Good:

  • Even the unexpected detours and challenges we face can be used by God to refine us and shape us into who He created us to be. (Romans 8:28: "And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose." (NIV))

8. Creativity is a Gift from God:

  • Our creative talents and passions are gifts from God, meant to be used to glorify Him and bless others. Following your creative calling is a way of honoring God's gift within you. (1 Corinthians 12:7-11: "Now to each one the manifestation of the Spirit is given for the common good. To one is given the word of wisdom by the Spirit, to another the word of knowledge by the same Spirit, to another faith by the same Spirit, to another gifts of healing by the one Spirit, to another the working of miracles, to another prophecy, to another the ability to distinguish between spirits, to another tongues, and to another the interpretation of tongues. All these are empowered by the one and same Spir

19. Embrace the Pain, Embrace Your Purpose: A Christian Creative's Guide for Faster Results29 Mar 202400:10:13

In this episode, I explore once more the concept of inner child but this time,  in connection to achieving creative goals from a Christian perspective. I delve into the idea that ignoring or resisting challenges can actually delay your progress. By embracing the pain and discomfort associated with growth, you can learn valuable lessons and develop the inner strength necessary to handle your ideal situation.

The episode uses the powerful analogy of childbirth to illustrate this point. Just as a mother needs to surrender to the contractions to allow birth to happen, creatives need to "get out of the way" of their own resistance and trust the process.

Drawing on my own personal experience, the episode offers practical tips on how to:

  • Listen to your inner child's clues
  • Embrace challenges as opportunities for growth
  • Cultivate a spirit of self-awareness and self-acceptance
  • Align your creative work with your God-given purpose

This episode is a powerful message for Christian creatives who are ready to break through limitations and accelerate their creative journey.

Do you ever feel like you're praying for a [creative] dream God placed in your heart, but you end up feeling far from Him, your goals, and even yourself?  I know I have!  It can be incredibly frustrating.  But even in that struggle, do you believe there's still a way to connect with God and move closer to your dreams?

17. Unleash Your Dreams: How Inner Child Healing Can help Break Fear's Chains15 Mar 202400:14:05

This podcast episode is just one installment in a small series focusing on the inner child. It explores the tension between our bold aspirations and the cautious fears harbored by our inner child, as well as strategies for overcoming it.

Key Takeaways with Actions:

  1. Acknowledge Your Inner Child's Fears:
    • Action: Pay attention to moments when you feel resistance to change or new experiences. Ask yourself, "What fear might my inner child be trying to protect me from?" Be aware of the thoughts that come to your mind. These thoughts may directly tell you what your inner child is fearing or feeling. For example, if you have a negative thought about trying a new class, it might be your inner child fearing rejection or failure.
  2. Cultivate Compassion for Your Inner Child:
    • Action: Thank your inner child for trying to keep you safe, even if their fears are holding you back.
  3. Reassure Your Inner Child:
    • Action: Let your inner child know you're an adult now and can handle challenges. You can say, "I understand you're scared, but I'm here for you. We can do this together."
  4. Align with Your Soul's Desires:
    • Action: Reconnect with your passions and dreams. Ask yourself, "What truly excites me, even if it feels scary?"
  5. Take Action with Courage and Love:
    • Action: Even small steps forward can build confidence. Choose love for yourself and your inner child as you move towards your goals.

There is power in self-awareness which can unlock resilience, faith, and a more fulfilling life.  Understanding yourself empowers you to navigate life's challenges,  whether it's career dissatisfaction, relationship struggles, or anything else that throws you off course.
By cultivating self-awareness, you can also deepen your connection to your spiritual beliefs and values, opening yourself to "divine guidance" and living a life aligned with your purpose.

So feeling stuck, worried or frustrated? This week, I invite you to reconnect with your inner child so you can LISTEN to her/him. Engage in activities such as playing games, dancing or watching a classic childhood movie!

Tell me in the comment what you did and how you felt afterwards!

Much love!

16. Discussion with Olivia Hudson (Part 2) - The Gift of your Inner Child: unlocking Compassion, Creativity and Joy08 Mar 202400:26:45

This podcast episode is about the impact of healing childhood trauma on connecting with oneself and others. My guest, Olivia Hudson, discusses her personal journey of healing from childhood trauma and how it has transformed her relationships, particularly her relationship with her daughter.
(Make sure to listen to my first interview with Olivia Hudson in episode 1 of this podcast if you haven't already).

Olivia is an incredible Christian woman. She's been married for 31 years and has five children between the ages of 19 and 30 years old. She's a motivational speaker. She has been doing a retreat most recently in the Acapulco International Virtual Conference.

She is the author of two books, Caring for the Inner Child and From Lemons to Lemonade. She holds two certifications for coaching. She's Certified Competent Communicator by Toastmaster International and the Life Disaster Relief Coach Certification through Fowler International Academy of Professional Coaching.

Key Takeaways:
1. The inner child represents an important part of your being. It holds onto your childhood experiences, both positive and negative, and can significantly influence your present self. Connecting with your inner child allows you to understand your emotions and motivations better.
2. Healing your inner child fosters self-compassion and understanding. By acknowledging and addressing your past hurts and unmet needs, you can learn to be kinder and more forgiving towards yourself. This can lead to increased self-esteem and a stronger sense of self-worth.
3. Connecting with your inner child strengthens your relationships with others. When you are able to understand and manage your own emotions, you become more compassionate and patient with others. This can lead to healthier and more fulfilling relationships.
4. Your inner child holds the key to unlocking creativity and joy. By reconnecting with your inner child, you can rediscover the playful and imaginative aspects of yourself. This can lead to increased creativity, joy, and enthusiasm for life.
5. Healing your inner child is a journey, not a destination. There is no one-size-fits-all approach, and it takes time and effort. However, the rewards of connecting with your inner child are profound and can lead to a more fulfilling and joyful life.
6. The episode also emphasizes the importance of creating a morning routine for reflection and gratitude as a way to connect with your inner child.

15. The Journey to (Self-)Love: You Are Already Worthy!01 Mar 202400:10:05

This episode explores the struggle between dreams and fear, and the journey of overcoming self-doubt to embrace self-worth.

Key Takeaways:

  • Dreams and fear coexist: We can be driven by big dreams while simultaneously experiencing fear of failure and inadequacy.
  • Growth requires overcoming fear: Taking risks and stepping outside our comfort zone (like moving to a new country) can lead to personal growth despite the initial fear.
  • Self-doubt is a common challenge: Feeling like "not enough" is a common experience, but it doesn't have to define us.
  • Unhealthy coping mechanisms: Seeking constant validation, comparing ourselves to others, overworking, isolating, and ignoring achievements are some unhealthy ways to deal with self-doubt.
  • Breaking the cycle: We can break the cycle of feeling inadequate by:
    • Recognizing and addressing these behaviors.
    • Reminding ourselves that we are enough.
    • Taking action towards our dreams, even when fear is present.
    • Practicing self-compassion and kindness.
    • Setting realistic goals and celebrating achievements.
    • Building a supportive network.

Remember, self-awareness comes first! Then self-acceptance, and finally taking action to overcome self-doubt and pursue our dreams.

Are you starting to recognize and address your own struggles? Please share in the comment and leave a review! My best to you!

113. Joy After Sorrow: Processing Grief with Dr. Jerry Woodbridge12 Sep 202500:35:37

In this deeply compassionate episode, I sit down with Dr. Jerry Woodbridge—a Christian author, grief advocate, and educator—to explore the complex journey of grieving with faith, honesty, and hope.

What You’ll Discover

  • Grief isn’t linear. Dr. Woodbridge likens it to “having a thousand hornets around your head” or bouncing on a trampoline while climbing stairs—progress, setbacks, repeat.
  • Identity after loss. The unexpected transition into widowhood isn’t a choice anyone makes. Dr. Woodbridge reflects on how that identity shift challenged both her role and faith.
  • Children and grief. Kids aren’t little adults. Dr. Woodbridge explains how avoiding their grief can lead to long-term emotional struggles, and how stories can offer healing validation.
  • Writing to heal and help. Through her faith-based children’s book Joy Overcame Sorrow, she gives young readers—and the adults who love them—language and solace in the midst of loss.
  • Metaphor of sorrow and joy. She shares a beautiful visual: “Both sorrow and joy can coexist like liquids in a coffee cup, with love bridging the gap. We grieve because we love—and that same love makes room for joy, even alongside the sadness.”

Why Listen

This episode is a sanctuary for anyone walking with grief—or alongside someone who is. Whether you’re a parent, friend, pastor, or caregiver, Dr. Woodbridge’s insight is balm for the wounded heart.

12. Decoding Decision-Making: Easy Tactics for Success and Steadfastness09 Feb 202400:16:41

In this podcast episode, I share personal anecdotes, from facing the pressure of a citizenship exam deadline to reuniting with family from France after years apart, and receiving a tempting job offer. I delve into the internal conflict of choosing between working for a developer, another employer, or focusing on my existing entrepreneurial pursuit. Through my reflections, I emphasize the significance of living in the moment, upholding integrity, and instilling cherished values in my children. With a fervor for bold decision-making, I explore various facets of choice and aspire to motivate you to pursue your own bold endeavors.

Here are a few tactics about making decisions:

1. Seek Clarity: When making decisions, it's important to see things clearly and understand the options available to you. This can involve gathering information, seeking advice, or reflecting on your own values and goals.
2. Seek guidance through prayer and reflection: Surrendering in prayer leads to inner peace, an essential precursor to making decisions. Decision-making becomes even more so challenging without peace. Additionally, consulting trusted individuals for advice can offer a fresh perspective on a situation.
3. Trust Your Intuition: This is your life and ultimately you bear the ultimate responsibility for it! Sometimes, decision-making can be difficult to make because they require you to trust yourself. Pay attention to your instincts and listen to what it is you really want.
3. Consider Long-Term Impact: It's important to think about the long-term consequences of your decisions. Will this choice align with your values and bring you closer to your goals? Take the time to consider the potential outcomes of each option.
4. Embrace Uncertainty: Making decisions can be scary, especially when there is no clear answer. Embrace the uncertainty and be willing to take risks. Remember that growth often comes from stepping outside of your comfort zone.

I hope these tactics help you with your decision-making process! Let me know if you need any further assistance.

10. Do not be afraid to stand out and not be agreeable all the time. It doesn’t mean you are mean. It just means that your voice matters!
11. To find your voice, try and start writing everyday for 10-15 minutes, you never know where that could lead to!
12. If you feel of restless or unhappy about the way your life is right now, try doing something new. This may lead to opportunities you never knew existed and help you find peace again.

17. Always keep your listeners/client base in mind! Podcasting like any business is a service!
18. Trust your intuition into what your next best step is and keep going. Stop comparing yourself.
19. Stay off social media for a while if you need to. Do whatever it takes to find your voice again without all the noise and the distractions.

21. If you had one message to tell the world, what would it be? Then, how could you get that message out?
22. You don’t need to impress anyone or start at the top. Start where you are and be authentic.
23. Your “imperfections” make you more relatable and that is attractive!
24. People long for true authentic connections which require us being vulnerable. Perfection does not let people in!

10. From Courage to CEO. Conversation with Podcaster and Coach Kristina Driscoll - Part 126 Jan 202400:31:56

In this Episode, I interview Podcaster Kristina Driscoll who from financial advisor,  transitioned to roles of wife, mother, and caregiver to her husband. After her husband passed away and her son left for college, she ventured into entrepreneurship, launching the She's Brave podcast, available on Apple Podcasts and Spotify.
Through her platform, she guides women on the journey to bravery and resilience. As the owner and CEO of the she's brave podcast, she has propelled it to the top 2 percent of all podcasts worldwide in less than six months.

Together we discuss topics such as authenticity, bravery, overcoming obstacles, and the journey of self-development. We also touch upon subjects like finding authenticity in life, facing fear and developing resilience. We delve into personal stories to illustrate pivotal life moments. Kristina encourages women to face challenges head-on and find their own voice, regardless of their current skill or experience level.

Takeaways:
1. We grow spiritually through challenging times
2. It takes intention and a lot of work to get to know oneself and grow. Growth does not happen on its own.
3. Growth can occur at any age! It’s never too late to reinvent yourself! That’s an encouraging thought!
4. To discover oneself and embark on one’s unique journey oftentimes requires to take the “narrow” less walked on path.
5. You may not be encouraged to take the narrow road. Others may not know which it is for you.
6. One may be afraid of what others may think but oftentimes people accept you as who you are, once you decide to be brave and walk the walk.
7. Sometimes we bravely step into a path that seems right but it does not mean that it won’t be filled with challenges, especially if the challenges are meant to help us grow.
8. Do not live to be recognized by others. Live the life you are meant to experience. This will leave you with no regrets!
9. A key to happiness is to be honest with ourselves and live accordingly, even if we make mistakes.
10. Sickness or feeling of unrest may be God telling you to slow down and listen! We are going ahead of ourselves ungrounded, and our soul may be heading the wrong direction. Be still!
11. The redirection may be a new untrodden path. It may bring discomfort but it ultimately brings you peace.
12. Ask yourself: what is one brave action I can take today?
13. Slowing down is an essential aspect to insure we stay on the right path!
14. Walking on the narrow path requires courage, grit and resilience.
15. The narrow path is the best path. It is where the heart is.
16. Hardship and going through hard times force us to appreciate and live in the moment!
17. What matters most to you? What is the best decision you can make for yourself right now?
18. Grit and resilience develop as we take consistent bold actions into the unknown. It may be terrifying at first but you may have the most fun you ever had!
19. Everyone can develop grit!
20. Fear is a good sign that you are pushing yourself and you may be growing! Build a relationship with fear.
21. Forget about confidence, bravery is where it’s at!
22. How can you be more present and enjoy what you have now?
23. There is power in the now.
24. The present is where God is.
25. Having a personal goal, as women, help us grow in ways we never thought were possible. And everyone benefits from it.

8. Strength in Weakness: Embracing All, God's Way with Evangelist Guy Hammond12 Jan 202400:32:40

In this episode, I discuss various aspects of leading a faithful Christian life, exploring topics such as biblical sexual ethics, the concept of holiness, and the significance of embracing LGBTQ individuals within the Church. My interviewee, Canadian evangelist Guy Hammond, emphasizes the importance of educating Christians on LGBTQ issues and building relationships with individuals holding diverse beliefs or identities.

Before becoming a Christian in 1987, Guy Hammond lived a life of a homosexual for over a decade. Today he is a Canadian evangelist and the Executive Director of Strength in Weakness Ministries, helping thousands of same-sex attracted Christians and their families in over 70 countries worldwide. He has taught over 200,000 people through his workshops and classes, and in 2018 a documentary movie was
made about his life called Finding Guy. Strength in Weakness Ministries is a Christian organization that helps to bridge the gap between the Christian community and the LGBTQ community through awareness, education, and support. You can find more information on his website.

Key Takeaways:
1) God created sex with the knowledge of its fulfilling nature, unaffected by cultural truths tied to specific times, our emotions, or tendencies.
2) Your identity is not defined by your sexual orientation; therefore it doesn't dictate how you choose to live.
3) The opposite to homosexuality isn't heterosexuality but holiness.
4) Embracing God's plan requires faith and trust, regardless of our sexual attractions.
5) Strength in Weakness is dedicated to the LGBTQ community, providing a secure space and strategies for a faithful life aligned with God's plan and soul fulfillment.
6) Our identity is rooted in God, and submitting to His higher plan is a privilege.
7) God's unwavering love allows us to entrust our entire being to Him, finding freedom in being fully known and loved without external holds.
8) Embracing a new identity in Christ, we need not hide or fight against ourselves.
9) God, who is unashamed and unembarrassed, desires greatness for our lives.
10) Despite past church experiences, God's thoughts about us differ. The church is a spiritual hospital with Jesus as the great physician.
11) Education and hospitality in the churches are vital as we coexist with differing views, embracing a focus beyond momentary affairs.
12) Our citizenship is in heaven, urging us to think bigger and align with God's perspective.
13) The misconception that LGBTQ Christians must live celibate, lonely lives is dispelled; God's design allows enjoyment in all aspects of life, requiring honesty and openness.
14) Love does not seek its own. It is selfless and giving. This extends to marriage.
15) Weakness becomes strength when embraced, empowering us to accomplish great things for God.
16) Boasting about weaknesses, as Paul suggests in the Bible, leads to greater strength. Rise above your weaknesses and let them become a catalyst for something extraordinary.

7. Soulful Encounter. A Pivotal Moment in my Journey05 Jan 202400:25:14

Today's episode is about my journey of understanding the importance of connecting with my soul and finding its true purpose. I discuss how I had confused my ego's desires with my soul's needs and the impact this had on my life. I also touch upon the barriers I had built and the importance of breaking them down to reconnect with God and live a meaningful and free life.

Takeaways:

1. Connecting with your soul: importance of connecting with your soul and understanding its needs and desires. It suggests that by putting your personality at the service of your soul, you can align with your true purpose and experience fulfillment.
2. Distinguishing between ego and soul: the ego can often overshadow the guidance of the soul. It encourages the listener to differentiate between ego-driven desires and the authentic needs of the soul.
3. Breaking down barriers: break down the barriers you have created, such as fortresses built from wealth, status, or past experiences. By shedding these barriers, we can create space for our soul to thrive and reconnect with our true selves, others and God
4. Seeking a sacred space: importance of finding a sacred space within ourselves where we can connect with our soul and experience peace, clarity, and the presence of God. This space requires intention, courage, and a willingness to let go of external distractions.
5. Understanding God's plan: I delve into questions about our relationship with God and His plan for us. Seek a deeper understanding of God's love, purpose, and desire for a meaningful relationship with you.
6. Healing and wisdom: healing and wisdom are essential parts of the spiritual journey. By embracing our imperfections, connecting with our past experiences, and seeking wisdom from our relationships and encounters, we can grow closer to God and experience personal transformation.
7. Sharing and connecting: share your experiences, discuss your spiritual journeys, and engage in meaningful conversations with others. By doing so, we can learn from one another, build a better understanding of God, and support each other on our respective truest authentic paths.

112. Is Impatience Fueling Your Doubts and Anxiety? Learning to Trust God's Timing05 Sep 202500:18:13

Patience is more than waiting—it is a discipline of the heart. It allows us to govern our emotions, trust God’s timing, and respond with wisdom instead of rushing in fear or doubt. Practicing patience strengthens our relationships, nurtures our spiritual growth, and helps us live faithfully and peacefully in every area of life. True strength is not in conquering others or achieving instant results but in mastering our own spirit (Proverbs 16:32).

In this episode, we explore:

  • What patience really is: both enduring trials steadfastly and being long-suffering with others, while hope-filled trusting God.
  • Why impatience leads to anxiety and doubt: rushing past faith increases fear and stress.
  • How Scripture defines patience through Greek and Hebrew words.
  • Practical ways to grow in patience at home, at work, and in our spiritual life.

Biblical Definition of Patience:

  • Greek (New Testament):
    • Makrothymía – long-tempered, patient with people (Galatians 5:22–23; 1 Corinthians 13:4)
    • Hypomonḗ – steadfast endurance through trials (James 1:3–4; Romans 5:3–4)
  • Hebrew (Old Testament):
    • ’Erek Appayim – slow to anger, patient like God (Exodus 34:6; Psalm 103:8)
    • Qaváh – to wait, hope, and look to God’s action (Isaiah 40:31)
    • Yāchal – to wait, expect, trust, and hope in God (Psalm 130:5)

Why Patience Matters:

  • Patience = Wisdom: Proverbs 14:29 – “Whoever is patient has great understanding, but one who is quick-tempered displays folly.”
  • Patience = Faithful Action: James 5:7–8 – like the farmer, we do our part and trust God for the rest.
  • Patience = Love & Fruit of the Spirit: 1 Corinthians 13:4, Galatians 5:22–23 – patience is integral to love and godly character.
  • Patience = Peace, Strength & Hope: Psalm 37:7, Isaiah 40:31, Romans 8:25 – waiting on the Lord renews strength and aligns us with His will.

Patience is active, not passive. It strengthens the prefrontal cortex (decision-making, planning, impulse control) and calms the amygdala (our emotional alarm system). Practicing patience gives us the power to endure, love, and act faithfully, even when life feels rushed or uncertain.

Practical Applications:

  • Family & Parenting: respond calmly, teach respect and self-control.
  • Work & Ministry: avoid burnout, focus on long-term goals, and rely on God.
  • Spiritual Life: waiting on God strengthens faith, trust, and hope.
  • Daily Habits: pause before reacting, pray, practice gratitude—small acts grow patience.

Closing Scripture:

Proverbs 16:32 – “Better a patient person than a warrior, one with self-control than one who takes a city.”

True power is a calm, regulated spirit—one that sustains family, nurtures relationships, and allows God’s plans to unfold in His perfect timing.

4. Beyond Sight: Helen Keller, Isaiah 6 and the Art of True Perception15 Dec 202300:15:43

This episode delves into readings about Helen Keller and explores a verse from Isaiah in the Bible.

Some of my takeaways:

1) Exploring biographies imparts wisdom by directly learning life lessons.
2) Isaiah 6 highlights the nuanced difference between seeing and perceiving; our hearts can be hardened, requiring introspection for clarity.
3) Imagine a world free from both stimulations and distractions—akin to Helen Keller's perception when guided.
4) To truly perceive demands focus and humility; staying open to ongoing learning reveals a purpose beyond our initial understanding.
5) Recognizing that lessons are not solely self-taught fosters a humble approach, acknowledging the depth of what there is to learn and the love of who is teaching us.

3. Enlightened Moments: A 30-Day Blackout Journey and the Unveiling of Unseen Light08 Dec 202300:10:11

In this episode, I share insights from a unique 30-day blackout experience with my family, shedding light on the transformative journey. Additionally, I recommend a must-watch Netflix show titled "All the Light We Cannot See," exploring its captivating narrative and themes. Tune in for an illuminating self-talk that intertwines personal experiences with the brilliance found in both real-life challenges and captivating on-screen stories.

In The Light We Cannot See, I explore key insights. Disconnecting from electronics enhances focus and strengthens family bonds. The post-blackout challenge lies in preserving newfound focus, being mindful of the distractions and information we reintroduce into our lives.

Even amid uncertainty, faith serves as a steadfast anchor. While I may not comprehend everything, faith is the bedrock of my life, offering restoration, guiding to a place of peace, hope, and joy. In moments of pain and fear, relying on a greater light instead of pervasive darkness is transformative.

A cherished quote resonates: "Our light and momentary affliction produce an eternal glory beyond imagination." Love triumphs over dark moments; God, synonymous with love, is ever close. Seeking His light, our unique stories unfold treasures revealing how God's light manifests in our lives.

1. Healing from the Past: Embracing Your Inner Child for a Fulfilling Life with Christian Life Coach Olivia Hudson01 Dec 202300:30:15

Olivia Hudson is an international Speaker and Life Coach. In this episode, I discuss Olivia's book "Caring For the Child Within: My Journey of Emotional Healing".

Here are some of my takeaways:
1) Sharing your story is an act of love. Our stories are not just meant for us alone. They hold valuable lessons and can enhance healing.
2) Going through your own healing journey helps others to see their own need for healing as well.
3) Writing our own story is helpful to understand ourselves better and gain clarity about the various circumstances of our lives.
4) The challenging/traumatic memories of our past tend to overshadow the beautiful memories that we have, which is not helpful for healing.  Unless  we experience healing and become aware of our triggers, we keep seeing the present with the lens of the past.  5) Just like Olivia's husband, offering space, empathy, and compassion while a spouse or a friend is going through healing can bring an enormous amount of support.
6) We all make mistakes. It is important to keep loving and apologizing a lot. We are not perfect.
7) Healing can stop the cycles of abuse in our past.
What would you tell your inner child today?
8) You can be all you were created to be.  Recognizing that you need healing is the very first step toward healing.
And lastly,
9) Healing happens in community.

111. Doubting God and Holding Onto Control Choke God's Word - Trust Him Instead29 Aug 202500:16:41

In this episode of Curious for Christ, we uncover the hidden danger of doubting God and holding on to control. These fears and doubts can secretly choke the Word of God in our lives, keeping us from His blessings and purpose.

What You’ll Learn:

  • How doubt and fear limit God’s work (Abraham, Moses, Joshua, David)
  • The Parable of the Sower: why heart “soil” matters (Mark 4; Luke 8)
  • Common thorns that choke God’s Word:
    1. Worries & Anxiety – Pray and release control (Philippians 4:6–7)
    2. Comparison & Discontentment – Cultivate gratitude (1 Thessalonians 5:18)
    3. Busyness & Divided Focus – Practice stillness (Psalm 46:10)
    4. Fear of Not Measuring Up – Lean on God’s grace (2 Corinthians 12:9)

Practical Steps:

  • Turn worries into prayer
  • Write three things you’re grateful for each day
  • Spend 5 minutes daily in stillness with God
  • Speak Scripture over fear and doubt

Closing Thought:

Doubt and fear are tools of the enemy, but trusting God fully sets you free. Tend your heart, cultivate your soil, and watch His promises flourish.

110. Finding Peace in the Unknown: 5 Prayers to Anchor Your Heart in God's Presence22 Aug 202500:08:22

Have you ever thought: I just need peace now—not tomorrow, not when life finally settles, but right here in the middle of the swirl?

That’s exactly what today’s short but mighty episode of Curious for Christ is about. I’m sharing a personal story of when I felt awkward, invisible, and tempted to hide—but instead of running, I stayed. And God met me in that uncomfortable space with His peace.

That moment inspired me to create The 5-Prayer Toolkit for Peace in Chaos—simple prayers you can use on the spot to steady your heart and become aware of God’s presence right away.

5 Prayers for Peace in the Middle of Chaos:

1. Pray for a heart anchored in God, not outcomes.

“Lord, help me want You more than I want a certain life. Anchor my heart in You so my peace isn’t tied to what I have or don’t have.”

“You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast, because they trust in you.” —Isaiah 26:3

2. Pray to welcome the unknown as a place to grow.

“Father, teach me to see the unknown not as a threat, but as a place where You and I walk closely together. Train my eyes to look for Your hand in the unfamiliar.”

“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight.” —Proverbs 3:5–6

3. Pray for courage to stay in the uncomfortable until you see His work.

“Holy Spirit, give me the courage to stay in rooms that stretch me. Help me see opportunities to connect, bless, and grow instead of looking for the fastest escape.”

“Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.” —Joshua 1:9

4. Pray to guard against spiritual complacency when blessings come.

“God, when You do give me the desires of my heart, don’t let my heart wander from You. Teach me to steward blessings in a way that keeps me close to You.”

“Be careful that you do not forget the Lord your God… Otherwise, when you eat and are satisfied, when you build fine houses and settle down… then your heart will become proud and you will forget the Lord your God.” —Deuteronomy 8:11–14

5. Pray to be faithful in small, unseen steps.

“Lord, help me be faithful today—in the ordinary, the awkward, and the overlooked—because I know that’s where You build my character and prepare me for more.”

“Whoever can be trusted with very little can also be trusted with much.” —Luke 16:10

Closing Encouragement

Friend, peace doesn’t just arrive when everything falls into place. The truth is, there will always be new levels of growth, and faith will always be required to walk this journey. Instead of running, let’s choose to stay, trust, and invite God in.

Remember: God’s presence isn’t waiting at the finish line—He’s here with you now.

“The Lord gives strength to his people; the Lord blesses his people with peace.” —Psalm 29:11

109. Be Strong and Courageous: How to Step into Your Calling When you Feel Unqualified15 Aug 202500:09:59

Feeling unqualified for what God is calling you to do? In this episode of Curious for Christ, Alexandra dives into Joshua 1:1–9 and shares how God called Joshua to lead Israel into the Promised Land—and how the same three anchors God gave Joshua can help you step courageously into your own calling.

You’ll learn:

  • How God’s presence, promises, and Word anchor you when the path feels uncertain.
  • Practical steps to live courageously this week, even when you feel unprepared.
  • Why courage is a choice, and how to enter your “promised land” one step at a time.

Alexandra also shares her personal story of navigating new seasons in life, business, and faith—and how trusting God’s presence keeps her moving forward, even when she doesn’t have all the answers.

Takeaways from this episode:

  1. Name Your Territory – Identify one area of life where God is calling you to step forward.
  2. Marinate in Truth – Pick a verse from Joshua 1:1–9 and speak it over yourself daily.
  3. Take One Courageous Step – Act in faith today, without waiting for perfect conditions.

Scripture Focus: Joshua 1:1–9, Joshua 3–4, Joshua 9, Joshua 23:14, Psalm 131

Prayer:

“Lord, thank You for going with us into every unknown. Today, we choose to believe Your promises, anchor ourselves in Your Word, and trust Your presence over our fear. Give us courage to take the next step, and eyes to see that You’ve already gone ahead of us. In Jesus’ name, Amen.”

108. Overwhelmed and Losing Hope? 3 Biblical Truths about Peace You Need Right Now08 Aug 202500:12:06

If life feels overwhelming, if you’re exhausted and wondering why peace seems out of reach—this episode is for you.

In today’s heartfelt and hope-filled conversation, I share three powerful, biblical truths about peace that will meet you right where you are. Whether you’re parenting through hard seasons, facing emotional or spiritual fatigue, or simply longing for rest in the middle of chaos, you’ll find encouragement and clarity here.

Through Scripture, personal story, and reflection, this episode invites you to stop chasing peace like a destination—and start receiving it as a person: Jesus.

 In this episode, we explore:

1. Peace is a Person, Not a Place You Reach

 John 14:27

Why lasting peace can’t be manufactured—and how Jesus offers it as a gift, not a reward.

2. You Don’t Have to Be Perfect to Be at Peace—with God or Within

 Romans 5:1

What it means to have peace with God through Christ, and how that changes everything from the inside out.

3. Peace Grows in the Middle of Real Life—Not by Escaping It

 Isaiah 26:3

Why peace doesn’t come from fixing everything around you, but from fixing your eyes on God.

 You’ll hear:

  • A vulnerable story from me about parenting, failure, and grace
  • Encouragement for the weary woman who feels like peace is only for people who “have it together”
  • A guided prayer to help you surrender perfection and receive God’s peace

 Key Scriptures:

  • John 14:27
  • Romans 5:1
  • Isaiah 26:3
  • Philippians 4:7
  • Romans 8:28

Words of Encouragement:

Peace isn’t waiting for you at the end of the storm. It’s available right now—because Jesus is with you in the middle of it.

107. Stuck in Anxiety? How Your Brain Can Learn to Trust God Again—with Eric Gilbert01 Aug 202500:36:19

What if anxiety isn’t a flaw—but a signal calling you back to God? In this powerful episode of Curious for Christ, I sit down with Christian leadership and mental health coach Eric Gilbert to explore how faith, neuroscience, and past wounds intersect—and how healing in Christ is not only possible, but promised.

We talk about:

  • How fear and trauma keep us spiritually stuck
  • The lies we believe about ourselves and God
  • Why busyness and burnout are symptoms, not solutions
  • And the steps to experiencing peace and purpose again

If you’ve ever felt frozen by fear, overwhelmed by anxiety, or ashamed of your struggles—this conversation is for you. Jesus came to set the captives free, and He wants wholeness for every part of you—mind, body, and soul.

 Key Takeaways & Scriptures:

1. The 3 B’s that keep you spiritually stuck:

Busyness – Avoiding pain by staying distracted

Burying – Numbing or shutting down emotionally

Broken relationships – Living disconnected from God or others

“Be still, and know that I am God.” — Psalm 46:10

2. Fear is not a flaw—it’s a signal.

Anxiety may be your body asking for safety. Bring it to Jesus.

“When I am afraid, I put my trust in You.” — Psalm 56:3

3. You don’t have to imitate anyone else.

Your calling is unique and handcrafted by God.

“We are God’s masterpiece… created to do good works.” — Ephesians 2:10

4. Healing is spiritual and embodied.

God uses breath work, counseling, prayer, and His Word.

“Love the Lord your God with all your heart…soul…mind…strength.” — Mark 12:30

5. God meets you right where you are.

Perfection isn’t the goal—presence is.

“The Lord is near to the brokenhearted.” — Psalm 34:18

106. Let God Heal and Prepare Your Heart through His Word—for Lasting Change 25 Jul 202500:12:05

In this episode, we’re digging deeper into one powerful truth from Episode 105:

The Word of God grows spiritual fruit we can’t manufacture.

Jesus calls our hearts “soil” in Matthew 13—and this week, we’re asking:

What kind of soil is your heart?

Is it soft? Shallow? Distracted? Dry? God prepares our hearts through His Word—so that we can live fruit-filled, purpose-driven lives.

Whether you’re in a season of spiritual dryness, facing personal pain, or just longing for real transformation, this episode will help you rediscover how Scripture:

  • softens hard hearts,
  • waters what God plants,
  • exposes what’s hidden,
  • protects spiritual growth, and
  • produces lasting fruit you can’t force.

You don’t need to try harder—you need to stay open to the Gardener.

 In This Episode:

  • Why heart transformation is the starting point for life change
  • What Matthew 13 teaches us about spiritual fruit
  • How Scripture acts like water, light, and a pruning tool in our lives
  • Encouragement for trusting God’s process and timing
  • Why pain can be a teacher—not something to avoid
  • A closing prayer and reflection to till the soil of your heart

 Scripture Referenced:

  • Matthew 13:1–23
  • Matthew 16:25
  • Romans 10:17
  • Hebrews 4:12
  • Jeremiah 17:9
  • James 1:22

122. Growing a Heart of Thanksgiving — Even in the Challenging Seasons28 Nov 202500:12:47

In this post-Thanksgiving episode, I invite listeners into a personal and Scripture-rich reflection on what it truly means to cultivate a heart of gratitude — not only when life feels abundant, but especially when it feels uncertain, stretching, or emotionally heavy.

Through a biblical study of thanksgiving and a deeply personal parenting story, we explore how God grows our hearts in hidden, humble, everyday ways.

What This Episode Covers

1. Giving Thanks In All Circumstances

We discuss the difference between giving thanks for everything versus giving thanks in everything — and why Scripture calls us to live from God’s reality rather than our circumstances.

Bible Verse:

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18 — “Give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

2. Gratitude in the Valley — Jeremiah 29 and Parenting

Alexandra shares a meaningful moment with her 11-year-old daughter who has been navigating friendship challenges at school and church.
Through tears, prayers, and divine wisdom, God reminded her:

“She is Mine before she is yours. And I love her more than you ever will.”

This leads into a powerful application of Jeremiah 29: how God calls us to grow where we are planted, even in seasons that feel uncomfortable or unclear.

Bible Verse:

  • Jeremiah 29:5 — “Build homes and settle down. Plant gardens and eat what they produce.”

3. The Silent Work of God

We explore how God often works quietly in our lives — through steady, subtle transformation rather than loud breakthroughs — and why gratitude helps us recognize His presence.

Bible Verse:

  • Philippians 2:13 — “For it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill his good purpose.”

4. A Biblical Framework for Growing in Gratitude

Alexandra introduces a simple 3-step process rooted in Scripture:

Remember

Look back on God’s past faithfulness.

  • Psalm 103:2 — “Bless the Lord… and forget not all His benefits.”

Recognize

See His hand in the present moment.

  • James 1:17 — “Every good and perfect gift is from above.”

Respond

Practice intentional thanksgiving.

  • Colossians 3:15 — “…and be thankful.”

5. A Five-Minute Thanksgiving Practice

Listeners are guided into a simple exercise:

  • What has God done that I need to remember?
  • Where do I see His hand today?
  • What promise am I holding onto for tomorrow?

A beautiful way to end Thanksgiving week with renewed gratitude.

 Scriptures Mentioned in This Episode

  • 1 Thessalonians 5:18
  • Jeremiah 29:5
  • Philippians 2:13
  • Psalm 103:2
  • James 1:17
  • Colossians 3:15

104. How Culture Creeps In and Steals Your Confidence in Christ—And How to Get It Back | with Dr. John West11 Jul 202500:34:49

Many believers have unknowingly exchanged truth for cultural influence—and wonder why they feel spiritually dry, confused, or insecure. In this powerful conversation, Dr. John West exposes the subtle ways culture shapes our thinking—and how returning to God’s Word can restore your peace, clarity, and confidence in Christ.

 Bible Verses Referenced:

  • Acts 2:38 – “Repent and be baptized… and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.”
  • Romans 6:4 – “We were buried with Him through baptism into death… so that we too may walk in newness of life.”
  • Galatians 6:8 – “Whoever sows to please their flesh… will reap destruction.”
  • Galatians 5:22–23 – “But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…”
  • Philippians 2:12–13 – “Work out your salvation with fear and trembling… for it is God who works in you…”
  • John 14:6 – “I am the way and the truth and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.”
  • Galatians 5:13–25 – [Read in full during the episode]

 Key Takeaways:

1. You Can Be Sincere—and Still Be Captivated by Culture

Without a biblical foundation, it’s easy to unknowingly absorb values that oppose God’s truth.

2. Spiritual Maturity Welcomes Questions

A healthy Church doesn’t shut down honest doubts. Growth comes through open dialogue rooted in Scripture.

3. Truth Must Be Held with Love

Truth without grace misrepresents Jesus. We must love well and stand firm.

4. Bitterness Is a Trap—but Healing Is Possible

Even deep wounds can be healed by Jesus. Bitterness doesn’t have to define your story.

5. Lies About Sin Keep People in Bondage

Two common lies:

– “My sin doesn’t really matter.”

– “My sin is too big to be forgiven.”

Both are false. God calls us to holiness and offers full forgiveness.

6. You’re Not Called to Carry the Weight—God Is

Faithfulness, not success, is our calling. God builds His Church—even in dark times.

7. Jesus Is the Only Way

Holding fast to John 14:6 may be countercultural—but it’s the most loving and life-giving truth we can offer.

103. Feeling stressed and lonely? Why God's Answer to Anxiety Is the Church04 Jul 202500:11:46

Are you feeling lonely, anxious, spiritually stuck—or like you’re carrying more than God ever intended you to?

In today’s episode, we explore the truth that you were never meant to do life alone. God designed the Church not as a building, but as a living, breathing family—the Body of Christ. When we step out of community, we become more vulnerable to spiritual attack, isolation, and discouragement.

We talk about:

  • Why regular church involvement matters for your emotional and spiritual health
  • What the Bible says the Church is—and what it’s not
  • How to find a church where you can grow and be known
  • My personal story from last Sunday when God met me in the middle of anxiety
  • And how to start again if you’ve been hurt, overwhelmed, or disconnected

 Scripture References:

  • 1 Corinthians 12:27 – You are the body of Christ, and each one of you is a part of it.
  • Hebrews 10:24–25 – Let us not give up meeting together… but encouraging one another.
  • Ephesians 4:11–13 – To equip the saints for the work of ministry, for building up the body of Christ.
  • Acts 2:42 – They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, to fellowship, breaking of bread, and prayer.
  • 1 Peter 5:8 – Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour.
  • Ecclesiastes 4:9–10 – Two are better than one… pity anyone who falls and has no one to help them up.
  • John 13:34–35 – By this everyone will know that you are My disciples, if you love one another.

 Key Takeaways:

  • God places the lonely in families—and that starts with the Church.
  • Disconnection from church can increase feelings of anxiety, stress, and spiritual confusion.
  • The Church is not optional for spiritual growth—it is God’s design for healing, truth, and transformation.
  • Even if you’ve been hurt or feel unsure where to begin, there is a place for you.
  • Obedience often starts with simply showing up—again and again.

102. You are Exactly Where God Wants You to Be: How God uses Detours and Circles to Grow You, not Keep You Stuck27 Jun 202500:08:39

Do you ever feel like you’re stuck in the same place — going in circles, facing detours, or walking a longer road than you expected? You’re not alone. In this episode of Curious for Christ, Alexandra explores how God uses those very detours and circles to strengthen your faith and shape you into the person He’s calling you to be, unshakable in your faith in Him. Remember, you belong to Him!

Through the story of the Israelites’ wilderness journey, we discover why the “long way” is actually part of God’s purposeful plan — to grow trust, build perseverance, and deepen your relationship with Him.

You’ll be encouraged to embrace your current season, trust God’s timing, and understand that even what feels like delay is part of your spiritual growth.

 What You’ll Hear:

  • Why life sometimes feels like a circle or detour — and how God is still moving in it
  • Biblical insights from the Israelites’ 40 years in the wilderness (Deuteronomy 8:2, Exodus 13:17)
  • How detours and delays develop perseverance and faith (Romans 5:3–4)
  • Encouragement to trust God when progress feels slow or invisible (Philippians 1:6)
  • A prayer to renew your courage and hope in God’s plan

 Key Scriptures:

Deuteronomy 8:2“Remember how the Lord your God led you all the way in the wilderness these forty years, to humble and test you in order to know what was in your heart…”

Exodus 13:17“God did not lead them on the road through the Philistine country, though that was shorter… God said, ‘If they face war, they might change their minds and return to Egypt.’”

Romans 5:3–4“Suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope.”

Philippians 1:6“He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion until the day of Christ Jesus.”

101. 5 Truths that Prove God is Near even when He feels Silent (and Why That Should Give You Confidence)20 Jun 202500:09:46

Have you ever felt abandoned by God?

Like you’re doing all the things—praying, showing up, staying faithful—and yet… the silence is deafening?

In today’s episode, Alexandra speaks directly to that lonely place. Drawing from Scripture and personal reflection, she unpacks 5 powerful truths to anchor your heart when God feels absent. This episode is a reminder that silence is not the same as absence, and even in the dark, God is forming something deeper in you.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why even Jesus experienced divine silence—and what that means for us
  • How to walk by faith when you see no fruit
  • What God might be forming in you through quiet seasons
  • How to stay rooted in truth when you’re tempted to give up
  • The promise that God sees your unseen labor of love

Scriptures Referenced:

  • Matthew 27:46 – “My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?”
  • Isaiah 45:15 – “Truly you are a God who hides himself…”
  • 2 Corinthians 4:8–9 – “Hard-pressed but not crushed…”
  • Habakkuk 3:17–18 – “Though the fig tree does not bud…”
  • Hebrews 6:10 – “God is not unjust; He will not forget your labor of love…”
  • Romans 5:5, Romans 8:37, 2 Timothy 1:7, Isaiah 40:30–31
  • 1 Kings 19 – Elijah and the whisper of God

Reflection Questions:

  • Where am I tempted to give up because I feel forgotten?
  • What fruit am I demanding instead of trusting the root work God is doing?
  • Can I choose worship—even here?

Take Action:

Speak the truth out loud.

Journal your response to the questions above.

Share this episode with someone who feels alone today—remind them they’re not forgotten.

100. 5 Ways To Walk By Faith (Not Sight) When Anxiety Takes Over13 Jun 202500:12:28

When anxiety takes over, how do you trust God—especially when the outcome is uncertain?

In this episode of Curious for Christ, we’re unpacking five practical ways to walk by faith, not sight. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, afraid, or stuck trying to control what you can’t, this is your invitation to breathe, let go, and trust the One who sees the bigger picture.

Scriptures Mentioned:

  • 2 Corinthians 5:7
  • 1 Peter 5:7
  • Proverbs 3:5
  • Hebrews 13:5
  • Psalm 119:105
  • Isaiah 26:3
  • Psalm 46:10
  • Hebrews 11:1

5 Ways to Walk by Faith (Not Sight):

1. Be Honest with God

“Cast all your anxiety on Him…” – 1 Peter 5:7

Start by naming your fears. You don’t have to hide your struggles. Bring them into God’s presence—He cares.

2. Lean on His Promises, Not Your Perspective

“Trust in the Lord… and lean not on your own understanding.” – Proverbs 3:5

Anxiety grows when we try to figure it all out. Write down a promise from Scripture and hold it close.

3. Take the Next Right Step

“Your word is a lamp to my feet…” – Psalm 119:105

Faith isn’t about the full plan—it’s about the next obedient step. Just one is enough for today.

4. Stay in the Word

“You will keep in perfect peace…” – Isaiah 26:3

Five minutes in Scripture can re-center your soul. Open to Psalms. Reflect on who God is.

5. Let Go of the Outcome

“Be still and know…” – Psalm 46:10

Faith means trusting God’s goodness, even when life doesn’t go how you hoped. Surrender is strength.

98. The Real Reason You're Stuck Spiritually (And How God Heals It)30 May 202500:12:34

Have you ever felt spiritually stuck—like you’re doing all the “right” things but still feel far from God? This episode is for you.

In today’s conversation, I share a deeply personal and biblical perspective on why we sometimes feel disconnected from God. It’s not always a lack of effort—it’s often a quiet rebellion: our tendency to trust everything but Him.

But here’s the beautiful truth—God doesn’t just correct rebellion. He heals it.

This is a vulnerable one, but it’s filled with so much hope.

In This Episode, I Talk About:

  • What “quiet rebellion” can look like in our everyday lives
  • How fear, anxiety, and self-protection quietly block our trust
  • Why God’s healing doesn’t wait for perfection—it begins in surrender
  • My story of feeling lost and how God pursued me like the one sheep
  • How to open your heart to God even when you feel overwhelmed or stuck

 Scriptures That Anchored Me:

  • Proverbs 3:5 – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
  • Hosea 14:4 – “I will heal their waywardness and love them freely…”
  • Isaiah 57:17–18 – “I have seen their ways, but I will heal them…”
  • Romans 5:8 – “While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
  • 1 Peter 2:24 – “By His wounds, you have been healed.”
  • Luke 15:4 – The parable of the lost sheep
  • Psalm 107:17, 20 – “He sent out His word and healed them…”

 From My Heart to Yours:

You’re not alone if you’re having a hard time trusting God.

You’re not alone if you worry, feel anxious, or carry stress—even though you’ve prayed and longed to be close to Him.

I’ve been there. I know what it’s like to feel lost in your own faith.

But God doesn’t meet us with shame—He meets us with mercy.

He’s not waiting for you to fix yourself.

He wants to meet you in your stuck place and gently lead you into healing.

97. Overcoming Shame and Codependency: 7 Faith-Based Principles for Healing & Spiritual Growth - with Kathy Heinen23 May 202500:35:31

In this deeply honest and inspiring episode of Curious for Christ, I sit down with Kathy Heinen, co-author of "Spiritual Discovery: Seven Principles for Spiritual Growth". Kathy shares her personal journey—from navigating a painful marriage to experiencing deep healing through Christ—and how God’s presence, not our performance, is the key to transformation.

Together, we discuss how our emotions are not obstacles but indicators—clues that can lead us back to the truth about God and ourselves. Through decades of ministry helping women overcome codependency and addiction, Kathy brings powerful wisdom and real-life application to what it means to grow spiritually and walk in freedom.

Yes, there were a few technical glitches—but the heart of this conversation is too rich not to share. :)

You’ll walk away encouraged, grounded, and reminded of just how personal and healing God’s love truly is.

What You’ll Learn:
• Why emotions are the bridge to our deeply held beliefs
• The spiritual battle behind the lie “I’m not enough”
• How God’s response—“You are mine”—shifts everything
• Why belonging is the foundation of true identity
• The seven principles of spiritual growth from Kathy’s book
• How spiritual transformation requires both truth and encounter

The 7 Principles of Spiritual Growth:
1. Stop and Consider
2. Recognize your Spiritual Battle
3. Tell the Truth
4. Look for the Lie
5. Ask, Seek, Knock
6. Find Peace in Forgiveness
7. Own Your Rescue Story

Mentioned in this episode:

- "Spiritual Discovery: Seven Principles for Spiritual Growth" by V. Lefler, K. Heinen & J. Lefler

- Episode 74: Finding Peace Through Biblical Meditation and Mindfulness with Virginia Leffler

Alexandra’s Reflections:
One of the most powerful moments in this episode is when Kathy shares how God responded to her deepest lie: “I’m not enough.”
God’s answer wasn’t logic or evidence—it was simply: “You are mine.”

That response silences the lie. Why? Because it’s not based on what we do, but on who we belong to. God’s presence is the tool we need in our spiritual battles. Just like in Genesis, when He said “Let there be light,” His word still brings light to our darkness today.

Final words of encouragement:
You don't have to earn God's presence. You don't have to fix it all to be held. Whatever pain you're in, whatever pattern you're stuck in, Jesus sees, and Jesus still chooses you. The invitation is simple and sacred: Come as you are... and sit loved.

Until next time:
Be true. Speak truth. Walk free.

With love and light,

Alexandra

96. How to Let Go of Control and Trust God Wholeheartedly16 May 202500:10:36

In today’s episode, we’re talking about one of the most challenging—but freeing—aspects of the Christian journey: letting go of control. From early messages about strength and performance to the pressures of adulthood, many of us were conditioned to believe that control equals safety. But Scripture invites us to surrender—to trade anxiety and striving for God’s peace.

You’ll discover:
• What the Bible says about surrender and trust
• How cognitive dissonance affects your walk with God
• Real encouragement for the moments you feel anxious, afraid, or stuck
• Practical ways to daily release control and receive God’s peace

Key Scriptures:
1. Proverbs 3:5–6 (NIV) – “Trust in the Lord with all your heart…”
2. Philippians 4:6–7 (NIV) – “Do not be anxious about anything…”
3. Matthew 11:28–30 (NIV) – “Come to me, all you who are weary…”
4. Isaiah 26:3 (NIV) – “You will keep in perfect peace those whose minds are steadfast…”
5. Psalm 46:10 (NIV) – “Be still and know that I am God.”

What You’ll Learn:
• Cognitive dissonance is the emotional discomfort you feel when what you believe clashes with what God is asking. It’s that moment of tension between “I need to be in control” and “God is asking me to let go.”
• Letting go is not weakness—it’s worship.
• God replaces what you surrender with His peace, presence, and purpose.

Reflection Questions:
• What early messages taught you that control was necessary for safety or love?
• Where in your life are you trying to manage what God is calling you to surrender?
• What would it look like to trust Him with that today?

Practical Steps to Let Go of Control:
1. Pray a Daily Surrender Prayer – “God, I trust You with this day. Help me release what I can’t control.”
2. Pause When You Feel Anxious – Ask: “What belief is clashing with God’s truth right now?”
3. Practice Stillness – Create quiet moments to let God’s voice be louder than your fear.
4. Lean on Scripture – Meditate on the verses shared to realign your heart with God’s promises.

95. Trusting God when Plans Fall Apart: How to Walk with Jesus Through Disappointment09 May 202500:15:34

What do you do when your plans keep falling apart? When the dreams you prayed for unravel or the doors you were sure God opened suddenly slam shut? In today’s episode of Curious for Christ, I walk us through Luke 24 and the Emmaus Road—the sacred, in-between space where disappointment meets the presence of Jesus.

We explore how spiritual transformation often comes not in the fulfillment of our plans, but in the death of our expectations. Through honest reflection, personal stories, and biblical insight, you’ll be invited to see your disappointment not as the end—but as the beginning of resurrection.

In this episode, we talk about:
• How Jesus meets us in our confusion and pain
• The spiritual process of dying to old identities and dreams
• Why disappointment can be a doorway to deeper intimacy with God
• The importance of naming your emotions and engaging with Scripture
• What it means to walk the Emmaus Road in your own life

Scriptures Mentioned:
• Luke 24:12–49
• Isaiah 40:31
• Psalm references (David’s honest prayers)

Key Quote:
“Disappointment isn’t the end of your story—it’s where Jesus often shows up to walk with you, open your eyes, and set your heart on fire again.”

In today’s episode, we explore the world of the early church and the historical events surrounding the fall of Jerusalem in 70 AD. My guest, Dr. Ward Sanford, is a hydrogeologist, researcher, and biblical historian whose passion for truth led him to write The Cry for Jerusalem series — deeply researched Christian historical novels rooted in eyewitness accounts and the writings of Josephus.

  • How history supports and illuminates Scripture
  • Why understanding the culture of first-century Judea matters for our faith
  • The strength and courage of women in the early church
  • How faith and intellect work together, rather than in opposition
  • And how our questions can actually draw us closer to God
