285: Stop Planning a Black Friday Sale. Plan a Black Friday Season23 Sep 202600:24:52

Send us Fan Mail

Most creators don't touch Black Friday until the first week of November, and then they're scrambling to throw an offer together and put a discount on it, hoping that one week carries the whole quarter. That's a lot of pressure to put on three days.

In this episode Ruth Poundwhite turns the tables and interviews me about how I actually plan Q4, which starts with treating November 1st through the end of December as one season instead of one weekend.

In this episode:

  • Why I have my promo calendar mapped out a year ahead, and how that changes what Black Friday even has to do
  • The October work that decides whether your Black Friday offer lands, including the warm-up sequence people skip
  • Why a pre-sale is one of the best things you can put out in Q4, especially if you don't have much to sell yet
  • How to take an inventory of your offers and decide which ones are worth promoting, plus the out-of-the-box offers worth testing
  • Using bonuses instead of cutting your prices, and how those bonuses doubled as market research for me
  • The sale structures we've tested inside HobbyScool, from a one-offer-a-day week to a twelve day December run to a simple three day flash sale
  • What I'm handing to AI this year, what I'm keeping, and the automation that puts a page live and expires it without anyone touching it

Key takeaways:

  • Black Friday is a season, not a day. Plan November 1 through December 31 as one campaign and the pressure on any single day drops.
  • Your audience has to be warmed up before the offer shows up. If you want to pre-sell something in November, the free gift, the webinar, or the sequence that gets them ready has to run in October.
  • You don't have to discount. Adding a bonus to the plan you want people to choose, like the annual or lifetime option, protects your pricing and gets people better results.
  • Take an offer inventory first. List everything you have, mark what you want to sell, and give yourself permission to test something new.
  • AI can build the pages, the emails, and the images. It can't tell you what your market wants. That part stays with you.

If you want to sit down and build your November through December money plan with me, that's what the Black Friday Profit Party workshop is for, and I run it every October.

284: Automate What Doesn't Need You16 Sep 202600:21:55

Send us Fan Mail

You already have automations running. A welcome sequence, a few tags firing, maybe a workflow you built two years ago and have not looked at since. Then AI showed up and everybody started talking about automation like it was brand new, and now you are wondering whether what you have is still doing its job.

Steph Blake has been in the online space for over a decade helping small business owners simplify and automate so they can work 20 hours a week or less. In this episode she walks through what she actually has running in her own business right now, from inbox drafts to call transcripts to a full lead dashboard, and she is clear about which parts she refuses to hand over.

In this episode:

- Why automating everything is the wrong goal, and what to look at instead
- The one automation Steph thinks every business owner should already have running
- How she turns every call into a searchable library of quotes, pain points and content ideas
- The connectors she uses every single day and why your email tool should be first
- How she built her own second brain in Google Drive instead of Obsidian
- The 30 minute flash sale process that used to take her a day and a half

Start with the things that do not need you, and keep a human in the loop everywhere else.

If you want help deciding what to automate in your own business and actually building it, come join us in the AI Mastermind.

283: The AI Systems Creators Are Actually Running08 Sep 202600:17:31

Send us Fan Mail

Almost everybody I talk to has been using AI for a couple of years now. They have a paid subscription, they have watched the videos, they can tell you what an AI agent is. And then you ask what systems they actually have running, and how any of it is helping them make more money, and there is not much of an answer.

I open this one with the thing I changed in my own business, which is that I stopped building my slide decks in Canva and started getting a finished, polished deck in about ten minutes using Claude and Gamma. Then I walk you through the AI in Action Summit, running September 15 through 17, session by session, so you know exactly what is in it before you register.

In this episode:

- The ten minute workflow that replaced an afternoon in Canva
- Why knowing how to use AI and having AI run part of your business are two different things
- The one instruction I gave every speaker before they submitted a session
- Who is teaching what, across agents and automation, selling your expertise, content and visibility, and client systems
- My three live sessions, including the one where five people bring something they are stuck on and we build it live
- How the summit week works and what is in the VIP pass

The gap is not what you know about AI. It is whether any of it is running without you.

Register free for the AI in Action Summit, September 15 through 17.

282: The Month I Didn't Touch a Single Thing02 Sep 202600:18:56

Send us Fan Mail

The event we ran last month is the first one I did not touch. Not the funnels, not the products inside them, none of it. My team handled everything, and that was a first.

Steph asks what is under the hood at HobbyScool. How we source speakers, who the three humans are, and what changed when Claude and the MCP connectors entered the workflow.

In this episode:

- The repeatable monthly system the whole year gets planned against
- How we find speakers, and why their list growth is the entire pitch
- Three people, and what each of them owns
- What the Kit connector replaced
- Why the marketing calendar comes before any AI question

Map the next three months first. Then ask what AI can do with it.

If the connector workflow is the part you want, we build it together in the mastermind.

281: The Funnel Behind a Free Summit, Numbers and All26 Aug 202600:22:28

Send us Fan Mail

A free summit does not make money. The pages behind it do. Registration page, VIP pass, order bump, upsell, membership, and a downsell if they say no to the annual.

Steph walks me through the whole thing and I give her the actual numbers, including what the ads cost and how much goes back out to affiliates.

In this episode:

- The difference between an order bump and an upsell, and how I price each
- The conversion rates I expect at every step
- Why I use dollars off instead of a percentage above a certain price
- The annual first, monthly as the downsell test that surprised me
- A $37 VIP pass against a $17 cost per conversion

Test the offer before you build another one on top of it.

If you want to know where your own funnel is leaking, start with the scorecard.

280: Three Contractors, Five Hours a Week, One Business I'm Selling19 Aug 202600:22:28

Send us Fan Mail

I spend about five hours a week on HobbyScool. Three contractors run the rest of it, and the last event went out the door without me touching a single funnel. It took years to get here, and nobody starts at five hours a week.

Kate Kordsmeier asks how it actually works. Who is on the team, what they own, how I manage people in a different time zone, and the two things I still will not hand off.

In this episode:

- The three roles that run a business doing an event every month
- The twice daily report that replaced most of my management time
- Building the thing myself first, then turning it into a skill and handing it over
- The two things I will not outsource, and the control freak reason why
- How long it actually takes, said honestly

If a question keeps reaching you, the answer is missing from your documentation.

If you want to build the AI skills that let you hand work off once instead of explaining it every time, that is what we do in the mastermind.

279: I Bought a Domain on Vacation and Built a Second Company12 Aug 202600:23:46

Send us Fan Mail

Most people know me as the Creator's MBA person. A lot of them have no idea I run a whole second company, in a niche I have zero personal interest in. I am not crafty. I built a craft business anyway.

In this episode Kate Kordsmeier interviews me about HobbyScool: where the name came from, the two business models I tried before virtual summits worked, and how the funnel behind a free summit actually makes money.

In this episode:

- Why I picked a market I am not a customer of
- The paid bundles that made revenue but did not grow the list
- What a free virtual summit is, and how the VIP pass monetizes it
- What speakers get when nobody is paying them to show up
- Why I made sure the business was never about me

You do not have to love the thing you sell. You have to be right about the market.

If you want to know which stage of your own flywheel is holding the rest back, take the scorecard.

278: Why Our Peer Mastermind Didn't Fizzle Out09 Aug 202600:31:27

Send us Fan Mail

Kate and I live twenty minutes apart in Atlanta and did not know each other. In the exact same month we were both quietly trying to build the same peer mastermind. One person got asked by both of us and said, wait, is this the same thing?

This is the behind the scenes of the Weird Hermits, the peer group I credit with more business impact than anything I have paid for.

In this episode:

- How two people building the same group in the same month found each other
- The commitment rule that kept this one from petering out
- Where the name came from, and the one it replaced
- A normal week: the call, the ads call, the Telegram thread
- The debrief calls where we share numbers nobody posts publicly

The groups that fizzle are the ones nobody was really required to show up for.

If you want a room like this and do not have one to build from, that is what the Council is.

277: Your Lead Magnet PDF Is Dead. Here's What's Replacing It10 Jul 202601:05:04

Send us Fan Mail

Your best PDF is sitting in someone's downloads folder right now, unread. Not because it's bad. Because nobody wants more homework.

This episode kicks off Beyond the PDF, my free event, with a look at more than two dozen creators who ditched the static download and built interactive lead magnets instead. Some are converting over 50%. And here's how I made it: I dropped every contributor story into NotebookLM and had it turn them into a two-host deep dive.

In this episode:

- Why the PDF worked for 20 years and what finally broke it
- Why information being free changes what people will trade their email for
- Claude artifacts, custom GPTs, and installable AI skills that do the work for your subscriber
- Why diagnostic quizzes convert so well, and how to segment every person who takes one
- Interactive calculators that let a B2B buyer close their own deal
- The low-tech format that converted at over 51% with no AI

The takeaway: stop asking your audience to read. Start helping them do.

276: The Best Decision I've Made in My Business (and It Wasn't a Course)22 Jun 202600:10:59

Send us Fan Mail

The best decision I've ever made in my business wasn't a course or a tool. It was joining a small room of people who actually get it.

In this episode I walk through why a curated peer mastermind changed how it feels to run my business, and why it's almost never the thing people assume it is.

In this episode:
- Why the big decisions get lonelier as your business grows
- What changes when you stop deciding alone
- The hot seat, and why you can't do it for yourself
- Why curation is the whole product, and what it actually means
- The real cost of staying in a room of one

275: I Took My Whole Business Apart. Here's How I Rebuilt It.11 Jun 202600:22:28

Send us Fan Mail

This month I took my entire business apart. Sales pages, offers, what I was promoting, what I was spending money and time on. All of it went on the table.

In this behind-the-scenes episode, I walk you through the full rebuild using my own Creator Growth Flywheel. I share where I think the market is headed, why the human element is the one thing AI can't replace, and how that belief is reshaping my events, my offers, and what I chose to cut.

In this episode:

- Why this rebuild is about where the market is going, not a one-time cleanup
- The one thing AI can't replace, and how I'm building around it
- A walk through all five flywheel stages: Attract, Engage, Nurture, Retain, Advocate
- Why I'm going all in on live events
- How I'm rebuilding my lead magnets backwards from the offer
- The offer overhaul: the AI Mastermind repositioning, the new Council, and Revenue Stack Studio
- How I used AI to build personalized affiliate pages in my partners' own voice
- What I cut, including Pinterest and the HelloContent store, and why

274: MCPs in Claude: How 6 Founders Are Actually Automating Their Businesses02 Jun 202600:50:37

Send us Fan Mail

Most conversations about AI automation stay theoretical. This one doesn't.

I sat down with my peer mastermind, a group we call the Weird Hermits, for a roundtable on MCPs in Claude, also called connectors. These are the tools that let your AI plug straight into the software you already use, like Kit, Airtable, Meta Ads, Shopify, and even Instacart.

Six of us walked through exactly what we have running right now, and what it has replaced.

In this episode:

  • What an MCP actually is, in plain language
  • How the Kit connector surfaces subscriber data you couldn't see before
  • The "drop a CSV and walk away" membership dashboard workflow
  • Live artifacts that pull fresh data every time you open them
  • Reading Meta ad performance without ever touching Ads Manager
  • Skills and scheduled tasks that run your content, support, and reporting for you
  • The personal-life automations we probably shouldn't admit to (banking, meal plans, groceries)

If you have been meaning to get your time back, this is the episode to take notes on.

273: How Savannah Gilbo Cloned Herself With AI (And Got Her Calendar Back)06 May 202600:23:34

Send us Fan Mail

Most digital product creators assume that scaling means hiring more team members. More support staff, more coaches on calls, more people to manage. My guest today took a completely different path.

After Savannah Gilbo's best launch ever brought in almost 200 new students, her live coaching calls were running 30 minutes over. Her membership deliverables doubled. She was burning out fast. Instead of building a team, we built her an AI clone together.

In this episode, Savannah and I walk through exactly what broke after her biggest launch, the options she considered (and why hiring more people felt worse, not better), the triage framework that made her AI clone actually coach like her instead of giving generic AI answers, and what her students are saying now that they're using it.

If you've been curious about AI clones for your business but worried about whether it would actually work for your niche, sound like you, or feel right for your audience, this episode is for you.

What we cover:

  • The breaking point that made Savannah look for a solution
  • Why she ruled out hiring a community manager or student ambassadors
  • The fear that almost stopped her from building an AI clone in her niche
  • The triage framework that transformed how her AI handles student questions
  • What 10-15 beta testers in her membership did with the clone (one had a 400-message conversation)
  • How students are now using the clone before office hours (and why this changed everything)
  • What this freed up for Savannah, mentally and emotionally
  • Her advice for creators on the fence

Hosted by Dr. Destini Copp  ·  Creator's MBA

What do you do when you have a genuinely engaged email list — great open rates, consistent click-throughs — but your subscribers just won't buy? That's exactly what today's guest, Allie from Allie Scraps, was dealing with. She has 13,000 subscribers, 40%+ open rates, and three to five percent click-through rates. By every metric, that's a healthy list. But she accidentally trained her audience to expect freebies, and now converting them into buyers feels impossible.

In this hot seat episode, I walk Allie through a full strategy reset — from newsletter structure and content planning to sponsorships, offer pricing, and whether a membership is the right next move for a B2C creator in the crafting space. If you've ever felt like your list loves you but won't pay you, this one's for you.

What You'll Learn in This Episode

  • Why the "freebie trap" happens — and the mindset shift that breaks the cycle
  • The Mini Magazine Method for structuring your newsletter into three to five consistent sections so you always have something to send
  • Why you should build your content around your promo calendar — not the other way around
  • The Teach & Pitch Method: how to create a reader journey that naturally leads to a purchase
  • How to use sponsorships and affiliate promotions to monetize a B2C newsletter list
  • What types of offers actually work in a B2C crafting niche (hint: not $2,000 programs)
  • Why memberships can be a strong revenue play — and what makes them work in the crafting space
  • How to start segmenting your list into audience personas and why it matters for long-term revenue
  • The AI automation system inside Newsletter Profit Club that writes your weekly newsletter for you

271: The Dark Side of Entrepreneurship: Difficult Clients, Refunds & the Messy Middle (Roundtable)25 Apr 202600:53:59

Send us Fan Mail

This one's a little different. What you're about to hear is a recording straight from our Weird Hermits Roundtable, a mastermind group discussion where we got real about the stuff nobody likes to talk about publicly.

Difficult clients. Refund requests. Payment plans that ghost you. Employees who snap. Customers who buy domain names to smear you. Yes, that actually happened.

The conversation goes deep on what everyone's refund policies actually look like, the boundaries we've set after getting burned, and the mindset shifts that helped us stop letting this stuff live rent-free in our heads.

In this episode, we cover:

  • The wildest client situations from a room full of multi-year entrepreneurs (Jordan's story alone is worth the listen)
  • Early warning signs that a client might be trouble — and the one pattern that keeps coming up
  • How to build refund policies that protect your business AND feel right to you
  • Why having a written policy is actually the kindest thing you can do (for everyone)
  • What to do when payment plans ghost you — and the mindset shift that makes it manageable
  • How to regulate yourself when ad comments or nasty emails make you want to lose it
  • The "What Would Destini Do?" framework for navigating messy business moments with boundaries and grace

270: How We Actually Use Claude to Run Our Businesses (With Real Workflows)17 Apr 202600:58:21

Send us Fan Mail

This is part two of a two-part roundtable with my peer mastermind group, the Weird Hermits — a small group of women entrepreneurs who have been in each other's corners for years. In this episode, we go deep on the specific ways we're each using Claude to run our businesses right now.

We cover: what a Claude skill actually is (and how it compares to a custom GPT), the difference between Claude Chat, Cowork, and Code, and the real workflows we're using — from morning briefings and newsletter automation to dynamic landing pages that update themselves and idea management via Dispatch.

You'll hear from Monica Froese (Empowered Business), Kate Kordsmeier (Success with Soul), Liz Stapleton ( Creator Ops Hub), Jodi Bourne (Borne Strategic AI), Steph Blake (automation & business strategy), and Ruth Poundwhite. We close with a challenge and free resource from each of us.

If you have access to the transcript, drop it into Claude and ask how these workflows would apply to your business. You'll be surprised what comes back.

In This Episode:

  • What finally made us switch from ChatGPT to Claude (and why)
  • What a Claude skill is and why it's more powerful than a custom GPT
  • Claude Chat vs. Cowork vs. Code — the honest breakdown
  • Real use cases: dynamic pages, newsletter automation, morning briefings, Shopify scraping, Kit cleanup tools, competitor intelligence reports
  • The cognitive load case for AI (Ruth's perspective is gold)
  • One challenge + one free resource from each person in the group

We're talking real workflows, real results, and the specific features that made us all say "wait — what just happened?"

In this episode:

  • The real differences between ChatGPT and Claude (and why most of us barely use ChatGPT anymore)
  • How Claude's skills feature works — and how to stack skills in one conversation
  • What Claude Cowork actually is and what we're delegating to it completely
  • Monica's 30-page branded workbook in 2 minutes, Jodi's automated SEO audit on a 60-page website, Kate's speaker notes that sound exactly like her

268: Capturing Testimonials: The Hot Capture Method15 Apr 202600:16:14

Send us Fan Mail

You're doing everything right — attracting, engaging, nurturing, and retaining your audience. But when it comes to collecting testimonials, you hit a wall. Sound familiar?

In this episode, I'm answering a question from listener, Johnna Kirk, who gets great feedback in her inbox and on social media but can't get anyone to fill out her Senja or Tally form. Here's the thing: the problem isn't the form. It's the gap between when the emotion happens and when you ask them to capture it.

I call the fix the Hot Capture Method, and it's one of the simplest shifts you can make in your creator business.

In this episode, you'll learn:

  • Why sending a form link kills the momentum (and what to do instead)
  • The one-question reply that turns an email into a testimonial instantly
  • How to build trigger points into your customer journey so testimonials happen automatically
  • How to get video testimonials from people who would otherwise never record one
  • How to build a testimonial library organized by offer so you're never scrambling before a launch

267: The New Buyer You're Not Optimizing For (AI Agents, Product Listings & What the Research Says)14 Apr 202600:19:58

Send us Fan Mail

What if the next person to buy your product isn't a person at all?

In this episode, I'm doing something a little different. I recently published an article called The New Buyer You're Not Optimizing For — and I thought the best way to bring it to life was to share this AI-generated audio conversation I created with NotebookLM. Two AI hosts break down the key research findings in a way that's easy to digest on a commute or walk.

Here's what you'll hear covered in this conversation:

→ Why AI shopping agents like ChatGPT's Agent Mode, Google's "Buy for Me," and Amazon's Rufus are already buying products on behalf of real customers — right now, not someday

→ The single title change that led to an 80 percentage point increase in AI agent selection (Columbia & Yale research)

→ Why "Sponsored" labels now actively hurt your chances of being chosen by AI agents

→ How a 0.1 increase in product ratings can be the deciding factor between you and a competitor

→ The 5-step listing audit every digital creator should do — especially if you sell on Shopify, Etsy, or any course platform

→ Why clever brand-forward product names are essentially invisible to AI agents — and what to do instead

→ How to manage this as a quarterly system rather than a constant scramble

The bottom line: the algorithm is now the gatekeeper to the human wallet. An afternoon spent rewriting your product titles today could be the reason an AI selects your product six months from now.

266: What Dave Ramsey's Business Model Taught Me About Selling Digital Products16 Mar 202600:17:50

Send us Fan Mail

Most digital product creators are building a collection of offers. The ones who build businesses that last are doing something different — they're building around a framework.

In this episode, I use Dave Ramsey's business model as a case study to break down why framework-driven businesses outperform tactic-driven ones — and what that means for your digital product business specifically.

You'll walk away with four questions to help you surface the framework that's probably already embedded in your work, plus a clear picture of how one framework can generate a full product ecosystem at every price point.

If you've ever felt like your products don't quite connect — or like you're always guessing what to build next — this episode is for you.

In this episode:

  • Why Ramsey's real product isn't financial advice — it's a framework
  • How one framework creates a natural product ladder (free → low-cost → core offer → membership → coaching)
  • Why your buyers can't find their next step, and how a framework fixes it
  • The Creator Growth Flywheel and how it organizes everything in my own business
  • 4 questions to find the framework you already have

We unpack our 5 biggest takeaways...from AI clones and the future of content creation to why newsletters are becoming one of the most powerful owned assets in a digital business.

One theme came up again and again: the importance of building platforms you actually own. Newsletters, communities, and direct audience relationships are becoming increasingly valuable as social media algorithms continue to shift.

We also discuss how AI is rapidly transforming how creators produce content and scale their businesses. As one speaker shared, the question isn’t whether to use A, it’s how we’ll use it to maintain our competitive advantage.

This conversation also reinforced something I’ve been teaching for years: newsletters are more than just marketing tools. They can become real products and meaningful revenue streams through sponsorships, partnerships, and advertising.

What You’ll Learn

  • Why newsletters are becoming one of the most valuable owned media assets in your business
  • How AI tools like voice clones are changing podcasting and content creation
  • The role paid advertising plays in growing large newsletter audiences
  • Why community and human connection matter even more in an AI-driven world
  • How founders are monetizing newsletters through sponsorships and partnerships
  • A simple strategy for gathering audience data when people join your email list
  • Why thinking of your newsletter as a product, not just a marketing tool, can change your revenue potential

This conversation left me energized, not just about newsletters, but about the future of digital business.

The biggest reminder?
The tools may evolve, but we’re still serving real people.

Listen in and let me know what takeaway resonated with you most.

263: Where AI Clones Fit — and Where They Don’t25 Feb 202600:12:40

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of the Creator’s MBA podcast, I walk you through the nuances of where AI clones can add real value—and where they absolutely don’t belong. It’s easy to get swept up in the potential of automation, but being strategic about how (and if) you use AI clones will make or break their impact on your business.

I share real-world examples of when AI clones shine—especially for repeatable judgment calls and implementation support—and when they fall short, like in emotionally sensitive work or when your frameworks are still evolving. If you’ve been curious about whether AI clones are worth exploring, this episode will help you assess your readiness with clarity and confidence.

What You’ll Learn

  • The best use cases for AI clones in expert-based businesses
  • Why repeatable judgment is key to AI clone success
  • When access to you becomes the bottleneck—and how clones can help
  • Why AI clones fail in emotionally nuanced or exploratory work
  • The difference between judgment and creation (and why it matters)
  • The hidden readiness factor most people overlook when building a clone
  • How to decide if the AI Clone Lab is the right next step for you

If you’ve been wondering, “Is an AI clone right for my business?”, this episode will give you the clarity you need. And if you’re ready to explore building your own, I share more about the AI Clone Implementation Lab I’m hosting in March—who it’s for, and who it’s not.

Bonus: Why Courses Aren’t Working Like They Used To (and What Replaces Them)19 Feb 202600:47:40

Send us Fan Mail

Today’s episode is a little different.

What you’re about to hear is the audio from a live session I taught yesterday called:

“Why Courses Aren’t Working Like They Used To (and What Replaces Them).”

I decided to share it here as a bonus episode because the conversation felt important.

If you’ve ever thought:

“My course used to sell… why does it feel harder now?”

Or…

“Why are buyers hesitating, even when the content is strong?”

This session will likely hit home.

In it, I break down what’s actually changed in the online education space, why information alone no longer converts the way it once did, and what buyers are really evaluating in 2026.

More importantly, I walk through what replaces the old model — and how to evolve your delivery in a way that supports your students better and makes your offer easier to sell.

This is an audio recording of a live teaching, so you’ll hear it in its raw format.

No heavy edits. Just the session as it happened.

If this resonates with you, and you want help applying this to your own course, membership, or coaching program, I’ll share a next step at the end.

Alright — let’s get into it.

262: How Experts Are Using AI Clones Without Losing Control of Their IP18 Feb 202600:09:40

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of the Creator’s MBA podcast, I’m breaking down one of the biggest fears experts have about AI clones: losing control of their IP or misrepresenting their work.

If you’ve built a body of work you’re proud of—a real framework, clear philosophies, trusted judgment—then the idea of an AI speaking for you can feel risky. And I want to assure you: that fear is valid, and there’s a smart way to navigate it.

I walk through how experts are using AI clones without diluting their authority or handing out their paid content. You’ll hear how responsible creators are setting boundaries, defining what their clones can and cannot do, and testing their systems the same way they would onboard a team member.

If you've been intrigued by the idea of cloning your expertise but hesitant to move forward, this episode is a must-listen.

What You’ll Learn

  • Why the biggest concern isn’t theft—it’s misrepresentation
  • How experts separate their judgment from their deliverables
  • Smart boundaries that protect your tone, values, and voice
  • Real examples of rules experts are building into their clones
  • Why saying “I can’t help with that” is actually a trust-builder
  • How to keep clones inside paid programs without exposing IP
  • The difference between supporting decisions vs. teaching frameworks

AI clones aren’t here to replace your brilliance. They’re here to help you apply it—consistently, at scale, and on your terms. This episode will help you assess whether you’re ready to take that step, and if so, how to do it with clarity and confidence.

261: The AI Inbox Shift: Why Your Email Strategy Needs a Job13 Feb 202600:13:34

Send us Fan Mail

AI is changing how inboxes decide what’s relevant — and a lot of creators are wondering what that means for their email strategy.

Here’s the good news: this isn’t a panic moment.

But it is a clarity moment.

In this episode, I break down what’s actually shifting and why your email strategy needs a job — one that’s clearly connected to your revenue.

You’ll learn:

  • What AI inbox filtering is really paying attention to
  • Why consistency alone isn’t enough anymore
  • How to audit your last five emails in under 10 minutes
  • The difference between “maintaining” a newsletter and designing it intentionally
  • How to align your email content with launches, evergreen funnels, memberships, or high-ticket offers

If email plays any role in how you make money, this is worth your attention.

260: Why Courses Aren’t Supporting Implementation Anymore11 Feb 202600:11:44

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of the Creator’s MBA podcast, I unpack why even the best digital courses are struggling to support implementation today. You might have strong content, a clear framework, and students who are genuinely eager to learn—yet still see them get stuck.

The problem isn’t you, your material, or your students. It’s that the course model was never built to support real-time decision-making in complex, ever-changing contexts.

I’ll walk you through the real reason this mismatch is happening more often now, and why the solution isn’t always “add more content” or “go live more often.”

You’ll hear how experienced learners, especially, need judgment-based guidance—not just information—and how new delivery models (including AI clones) are starting to fill that gap.

What You’ll Learn

  • Why traditional courses struggle with real-world implementation
  • How learning and working have merged—and what that means for creators
  • The difference between information transfer and context-based support
  • Why live calls are helpful but still not enough
  • The true scalability challenge behind coaching and hybrid models
  • How AI clones are being used to support implementation (without replacing teaching)
  • Why it’s not about teaching more—it’s about guiding better

If you’ve ever wondered why your students “get it” during the lesson but freeze during implementation, this episode is for you. You’ll leave with a new lens for evaluating your delivery model—and a preview of how to bridge that gap more strategically.

🎧 Listen now to reimagine how your course can actually support the way people work and learn today.

Send us Fan Mail

In this episode of the Creator’s MBA podcast, I’m demystifying what an AI clone actually is—and how it’s very different from a chatbot or a custom GPT. There’s a lot of hype out there right now, and while those tools have their place, an AI clone serves a completely different function in your business.

We’ll walk through how clones are built to apply your unique way of thinking—not just spit out generic answers. I share how they can support your clients when you’re not in the room, and why they only work when your frameworks are already clear and stable. If you’ve been wondering whether a clone could help reduce bottlenecks or improve implementation in your programs, this episode is a must-listen.

What You’ll Learn

  • The key difference between chatbots, custom GPTs, and AI clones
  • Why AI clones aren’t built for creativity or exploration
  • How your decision-making process becomes the “engine” of a clone
  • Where clones fit best in expert businesses
  • Why automation and cloning are not the same thing
  • What an AI clone needs from you to actually work
  • The kinds of work AI clones should never try to replace

If you’re thinking about using AI in your business—but want to do it responsibly, with clarity and intention—this episode will give you a strong foundation. I also share a real-life example of how AI clones can support implementation in online courses without replacing your presence.

Friend, I bet you're sitting on IP you didn't even know you had.

What if your most valuable business asset isn’t your course, your funnel, or your content… but your thinking?

In this week’s Creator’s MBA podcast, I break down why your expertise is already a form of intellectual property, even if you’ve never labeled it that way,  and what actually turns experience into a real business asset.

We talk about:

  • Why most creators accidentally build content libraries instead of business assets
  • How your frameworks, methods, and decision-making patterns are the real value in your business
  • What changes when your knowledge becomes something that can exist and operate without you
  • And why AI is shifting how creators can scale, not just faster, but smarter

If you’ve ever felt like you’re constantly creating but not really building something that lasts, this episode will change how you think about your business — and what you should be focusing on next.

n this episode, I dive into why watching decisions get made in real time teaches you far more than polished advice ever could.

We often hear about success after it happens, but what if the real learning is in the decisions, not just the outcomes?

In this episode of the Creator’s MBA podcast, I share the real reason behind the $1 million HobbyScool experiment—and it’s probably not what you think. This isn’t about a dramatic pivot or fixing something broken. HobbyScool was working. The experiment started because I realized that, as my business grew, what I needed most wasn’t more case studies or strategies, it was clarity around how decisions are actually made when the outcome isn’t obvious.

This episode is a transparent look at why I’m documenting the thinking, the trade-offs, and the context behind every key decision, not just the highlight reel. If you're beyond the beginner stage and craving more nuanced, in-the-moment insight, this is for you.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why I shifted focus from outcomes to real-time decision-making
  • The hidden cost of polished success stories and post-mortems
  • What decisions actually look like when the outcome isn’t clear
  • Why real growth comes from decision patterns—not one big move
  • How I’m documenting uncertainty to sharpen judgment (yours and mine)
  • The backstory behind a 17,958-attendee creative event and what really happened behind the scenes

Ever feel like your business should be working, but something still feels off?

If you're no longer a beginner, if you've launched, built an audience, and proven your offers… yet somehow, things feel heavier, more confusing, or even stuck—this episode is for you. I'm diving into a sneaky growth killer that doesn't get talked about enough: decision friction.

What I’ve learned over the years is that most smart, experienced business owners don’t stall at the start. They stall after things begin to work, when they’re faced with multiple good options and no clear next step.

In this episode, I’ll help you recognize the subtle signs that you’re dealing with a decision problem (not a strategy or execution problem), and why that matters more than ever right now.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why momentum stalls after your first big wins
  • How decision friction masquerades as productivity
  • The 4 most common patterns that signal a decision problem
  • Why more tools, courses, and data don’t solve this
  • What to do instead of launching (again) or growing your audience (again)

251: What Actually Worked in 2025 (and What We’re Ditching in 2026)14 Dec 202500:50:47

Send us Fan Mail

What do you get when you put seven experienced, introverted, neurodivergent business owners on a Zoom call to reflect on the year?

A conversation that’s part strategy session, part therapy, and all real talk.

In our most recent Weird Hermits roundtable, we cracked open the good, the bad, and the deeply weird parts of running six-figure businesses in 2025. No glossy case studies. No “just manifest it” energy. Just honest reflection on what actually moved the needle and what we’re leaving behind in 2026.

Here’s a taste of what came up:

→ Monica tripled her revenue in the second half of the year by building “Inbox Experiments, ” GPT-powered freebies that sparked hundreds of email replies and real sales conversations.

→ Tara weathered a hard season thanks to her evergreen systems. Her six-month nurture sequence, Pinterest traffic, and SEO kept her business running while she stepped away.

→ Kate stopped chasing 7-figure milestones and focused on high-profit, low-stress systems. One ad she launched in February became her best performer by July, because she kept refining her backend funnel.

→ Steph realized she was outsourcing things she could’ve automated. After simplifying her systems and reconnecting with her love for deep implementation, her profits surged and burnout dropped.

→ Ruth faced a financial reckoning in 2024 and used it to completely revamp her money systems. Now, she’s tracking everything, building reserves, and feeling more in control than ever.

→ Liz let go of a legacy brand (RIP Blogger Breakthrough) and rebranded to Creator Ops Hub. It was scary… but gave her the clarity and alignment she’d been craving.

→ Sage, who hosted the roundtable, shifted from low-ticket tripwires to more premium offers like her Goodbye 9 to 5 Mastermind and saw revenue and energy skyrocket. She’s focusing on what brings her joy: coaching, teaching, and helping her clients hit consistent 10K months.

→ Destini (that’s me!) doubled down on rinse-and-repeat systems and ad strategies. My HobbyScool events continued to deliver consistent results, and I also talked about how I am currently experiencing extreme burnout and what I'm doing to address it.

We also opened up about:

  • Boundary-setting (and boundary-breaking)
  • Overthinking vs. making quick decisions
  • Letting go of overcomplicated funnels
  • Automating lead gen to buy back time
  • And reimagining what “success” actually looks like now

245: Why Your Audience Isn’t Buying15 Nov 202500:09:55

If your audience loves your content but rarely buys, you may be missing an important piece in the retain stage.

Over the last few episodes, I have been walking you through my Creator’s Growth Flywheel and what has changed in 2025 for digital product businesses.

Funnels are not working the way they used to, consistency alone is no longer enough, and in an AI saturated market, trust matters more than ever.

In this episode, I am diving into one of the most critical and most overlooked stages of the flywheel.

The retain stage.

This is the stage that determines whether all your hard work turns into real revenue or quietly disappears.

I break down why so many online business owners are nurturing an engaged audience that never actually converts and why it is not because your offer is bad, you are inconsistent, or your funnels are “broken”.

The real problem is that your audience does not know what comes next with you.

I will help you see how the retain stage becomes the connective tissue between your content, your conversion, and your recurring revenue so your people stop staying stuck at “fan” status and start becoming long term buyers.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why people love your content but still do not buy
  • The real role of the retain stage in your growth flywheel
  • How missing “next steps” keep your audience stuck at the fan level
  • What changes in your business when retain is finally fixed
  • How retention drives stability, predictability, and recurring revenue
  • Why you are not missing talent or work ethic. You are missing a system
  • A simple next step to diagnose whether retain is your true bottleneck

When you get the retain stage right, every new lead you attract has a clear path to stay in your world, get a deeper transformation, and become a long term customer.

I want you to know that you are closer than you think. Your audience already trusts you, your message matters.

Now it is time to connect that trust to a clear transformation and next step.

Tune into this episode to see where your flywheel may be breaking down and how to start fixing it today.

Are you consistently creating content but still feeling like your business is stuck in neutral?

We’re right in the middle of our Creator’s Growth Flywheel series, and today I’m digging into one of the most frustrating experiences entrepreneurs face, putting in all the effort, showing up consistently, and still not seeing results.

If you’ve ever felt like your content is being sent into the void, this episode is for you.

I’m breaking down why consistency alone isn’t cutting it anymore, especially in a noisy, AI-saturated digital landscape. Your newsletter, your podcast, your posts—those are just parts of a bigger system.

Today, we’ll unpack what it really takes to build trust, connection, and conversion through a true nurture system. I’m sharing how you can stand out with sharper messaging, more clarity, and a clear next step for your audience.

This episode will shift how you think about your content strategy—and what to do if your flywheel feels broken.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why consistency in content isn’t enough in 2025
  • The real reason your audience isn’t taking action
  • What a full nurture system looks like (hint: it’s not just a weekly newsletter)
  • How to sharpen your message to cut through AI-generated noise
  • The elements of thought leader content that builds trust

Feeling like your funnel used to work but now it's just...stalls?

In today’s episode of the Creator’s MBA podcast, I’m pulling back the curtain on one of the most frustrating pain points for digital product creators, when funnels stop converting.

You’ve probably said it yourself: “My funnel used to work, but now it’s like no one’s buying.” I’m here to tell you it’s not your funnel. It’s your system.

We’re continuing our Creator’s Growth Flywheel series by diving deep into the real reason your funnel feels broken. I walk you through why funnels are only one part of the bigger picture and what happens when they’re disconnected from a larger nurture and sales ecosystem.

Whether you’ve built multiple funnels or are still perfecting your first, this episode will show you exactly how to turn those pieces into a seamless, scalable system.

What You’ll Learn:

  • Why funnels that once worked are now falling flat
  • The outdated thinking that keeps entrepreneurs stuck
  • How disconnected funnels hurt your customer journey
  • Three reasons funnels feel broken—and how to fix each one
  • What your funnel should be doing to fuel growth
  • The crucial role of nurture content in conversion
  • How to take action today without building anything new

If you’re starting to realize it’s not about building more funnels, but building the right connections between what you already have, then this episode is going to be a game-changer.

Tune in now and take the first step toward building a business that compounds momentum, not just collects leads.
