DESCRIPTION OF SHEDDING A SKIN: On the 15th floor of a London tower block, a revolution takes place. Myah has ejected herself from a corporate hellscape only to crash-land in the spare room of an elder named Mildred—an evasive auntie with laminated house rules and hidden wounds. But healing takes many shapes, and sometimes it looks like sneaking your roommate’s duckanoo.
Shedding a Skin is a one-woman buddy comedy for the heartbroken—a series of exquisitely observed, quietly radical scenes that offers a hand to those feeling the weight of the world. It’s a play about finding kindness in unexpected places; about understanding what our elders can teach us; it’s new skin honouring old. It’s a play about joy, healing and protest. Drop your baggage at the door. Connection is resistance.
Amanda Wilkin’s Shedding a Skin is the 2020 winner of Soho Theatre’s acclaimed Verity Bargate Award. The play premiered at Soho Theatre, London, in June 2021.

Brennan was generous enough to share a big no that he got. A novice at navigating the industry, I'm so glad that he shared this experience with us. Not sugar coating it, and not placing blame, this was an important learning lesson. It's important to speak about these experiences with other creatives to at the very least know that we're not alone. Big no's happen to everyone, they suck and somehow we keep doing the things we love to do.
Episode 55: Hilary Wirachowsky & Trusting The Dots

We jump right into the conversation on this one, I loved talking to Katie, an actor, director, writer, stand up comedian and the CEO of the production company Katie Chats Inc. AND JUST ANNOUNCED President of Webseries Canada! We talk about working with different personalities on set, what she's learned from her time working in casting, shadowing on a major set in New York, working as a director and so much more. I hope you enjoy this conversation and if you're hitting rock bottom be sure to reach out to another creative who gets it, or listen to a couple more of these interviews. They really make me realize that even when you feel super alone in this industry you are in fact not alone! Let me know your favourite takeaway in the comments!
I loved learning more about the music composition side of things. I'm not in any way shape or form educated in music (as you'll be able to tell) BUT THILO professor turned full time music composer is a genius! I love what he has to share, the importance of music assisting the story, collaborating on films, his favourite projects, upcoming projects and his first ever sound track release that you can download here!!
