This week in our public square we sit down with with Prof. Yehuda Mirsky to discuss Religious Zionism, its roots, aims, and the impact it is having on Israel today.

Prof. Mirsky is the author of ‘Rav Kook: Mystic in a Time of Revolution.’ We will be discussing the ideology of Rabbi Abraham Isaac Kook, founder of Religious Zionism, and how his teachings are being interpreted by certain members of the modern religious zionist movement today.

This will be a journey from the early 1900's and the beginnings of the Zionist movement, to the founding of Israel in 1948, to Meir Kahane in the 1980's, and to Smotrich and Ben Gvir today.

In conversation with CCFP Director Ari Ingel this week is Hillel Neuer, who is the Executive Director of UN Watch, a human rights NGO in Geneva, Switzerland.

Hillel is the leading Jewish advocate speaking out against the anti-Israel and anti-Jewish bias at the United Nations. 

Since 2009, he has has headed a coalition of 25 human rights groups as chair of the annual Geneva Summit for Human Rights and Democracy, a renowned international gathering that provides a global platform to courageous pro-democracy dissidents from around the world who put their lives on the line to demand fundamental freedoms in oppressive regimes.

Creative Community For Peace (CCFP) presents the Dispelling the Myths series, which is an educational series of discussions with thought leaders in the Jewish world that you won't find anywhere else. 

This week in conversation with CCFP Director Ari Ingel are Anne Herzberg and Olga Meshoe Washington. Both are leaders in exposing and countering the apartheid lie that is leveled against Israel. 

Anne is the author of the widely cited "NGO Lawfare: Exploitation of Courts in the Arab-Israeli Conflict" as well as 'False Knowledge as Power: Deconstructing Definitions of Apartheid that Delegitimize the Jewish State' and 'Neo-Orientalism: Deconstructing claims of apartheid in the Palestinian-Israeli conflict.'

Olga is a South African public speaker, author, and attorney and Chief Executive Officer of DEISI International. Her essay, "The Apartheid Lie," was published in the book "Israelophobia and the West: The Hijacking of Civil Discourse on Israel and How to Rescue It."

In conversation this week is Dr. Sheree Trotter, who is a Māori New Zealander of the Te Arawa iwi (tribe) and a researcher, writer, and co-director of the Indigenous Coalition for Israel and co-founder of the Holocaust and Antisemitism Foundation, Aotearoa New Zealand, along with Dr. Saba Soomekh, who is the Associate Director at the human rights organization American Jewish Committee-Los Angeles and a lecturer at The Academy for Jewish Religion-CA, where she teaches Religious Studies and Middle Eastern History courses.

They discuss the history of the Jewish people in the land of Israel and how the issue of indigeneity has become increasingly weaponized.

This weeks session is: with Dr. Einat Wilf, discussing her latest book, The War of Return, as we explore UNRWA and the Right of Return.

Dr. Wilf has a BA from Harvard, an MBA from INSEAD in France, and a PhD in Political Science from the University of Cambridge. 

She was a member of the Israeli Parliament from 2010-2013, where she served as Chair of the Education Committee and Member of the influential Foreign Affairs and Defense Committee. 

She has also served as a Senior Fellow at the Jewish People Policy Institute, Adjunct Fellow at the Washington Institute for Near East Policy and was a Foreign Policy Advisor to Vice Prime Minister Shimon Peres. 

She has written 6 books, including being the co-author of “The War of Return: How Western Indulgence of the Palestinian Dream Has Obstructed the Path to Peace”
