Attitude Is Everything

Épisode 41

samedi 6 janvier 2024Durée 12:55

Send a text

This episode is a tribute to the legacy of leadership, a man whose positive attitude was a beacon to those he met. Montie Box was an influential figure, who taught that success in leadership is as much about uplifting others as it is about reaching personal goals. Montie's story is not just his own, it's a testament to the power of attitude and the profound effect one person's outlook can have on the world around them.

The legacy of Montie Box, 93-years-old,  overflowed a funeral home with those he impacted. This is a call to lead with intentionality, embracing each day as an opportunity to better ourselves and, by extension, those whose lives we touch. Join me on this reflective journey where we honor the powerful legacies that shape us and the courage it takes to forge our own.

The Last Stand with the Phoenix Police Department

Saison 1 · Épisode 36

mercredi 6 décembre 2023Durée 35:34

Send a text

DOJ Consent Decrees have been one of the most destructive actions against law enforcement agencies and the communities they serve. While the federal government is Constitutionally prohibited from taking control of local law enforcement, most agencies simply agree to a consent decree without seeing any evidence that it is needed.

As a DOJ Investigation comes to a conclusion in Phoenix, the city has taken a different approach. The City Council has asked to actually see the results of the investigation prior to agreeing to a federal take over of the agency.

As the DOJ has always done in the past, they refused and are asking the city to enter into a consent decree without seeing the actual evidence of need.

Travis discusses the importance of Phoenix standing up to the DOJ and what that can mean for law enforcement across the country.

Dr. Yates previously discussed this important matter with Bob Scales and you can listen to that here.

A comprehensive list of consent decree information is located here.

Cops Going To Jail For Following Policy

Saison 1 · Épisode 35

lundi 4 décembre 2023Durée 18:01

Send a text

In the days that followed May 25, 2020, major police organizations and thousands of law enforcement officials bought the narrative that that a white, black, and asian police officer murdered George Floyd in broad daylight. Based on a viral video alone and outrage across the globe, those same officials made official statements condemning the officers.

After the release of Liz Collins' documentary, "The Fall of Minneapolis," those leaders have no excuses but their advocacy for officers in prison that followed their policy and training should be troubling.

Dr. Travis Yates discusses this important issue and asks some important questions that every law enforcement official should consider.

This podcast was based on an article by Dr. Yates. You can can read that here.
