Raised on her beloved Mississippi Gulf Coast, Robin was destined for success. Surrounded by her remarkable family — love, inspiration, and creativity was never in short supply. As a child, Robin understood the power of both aspiration and inspiration. Her father, Lawrence Roberts, was a Colonel in the United States Air Force, and a member of the famed Tuskegee Airmen. Her mother, Lucimarian Roberts, was a social worker, educator, and Chairperson of the Mississippi Board of Education. Bolstered by their encouragement and her talent, Robin excelled academically, and also in athletics as a basketball star at her alma mater, Southeastern Louisiana University. After college, her ambition and love of the game inspired her to take a shot off the court with a local news broadcast. Her knowledge of sports was a given, but it was her preternatural passion for broadcast journalism that provided the building blocks for her future.  After navigating the waters of local news in several U.S. cities, including Nashville and Atlanta, Robin joined ESPN as a host of SportsCenter at 29, one of many career slam-dunks. Robin’s preparation, knowledge, and fearlessness prevailed as she encouraged people everywhere to ‘get in the game.’

After several years as a contributing correspondent and news reader, in 2005, Robin joined Diane Sawyer and Charlie Gibson as a co-anchor of Good Morning America. She would go on to cover countless news events and entertainment specials, from Hurricane Katrina and the Inauguration of President Barack Obama, to the Academy Awards, where she has served several times as the host of the red carpet pre-show.

Joel sits down with the dynamic Cynt Marshall, CEO of the Dallas Mavericks, and explores her early beginnings, cancer diagnosis and success.

Cynt has spent her life breaking barriers, particularly when it comes to rising up the leadership ladder in corporate America. Her 36-year career with AT&T catapulted her to becoming the first female black CEO in the NBA with the Dallas Mavericks in 2018. Marshall built the diversity and inclusion culture at AT&T as Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Chief Diversity Officer.

Khubani is the founder and CEO of Telebrands, a company that develops, markets, and distributes household items both direct-to-consumer and to major retail stores. Founded in 1983, Telebrands created billions of dollars in revenue. Khubani created the “As Seen on TV” departments at retail; this category is the second-largest producer of nonpharmaceutical revenue at drugstores nationwide, raking in approximately $350 billion annually.

Kathie Lee Gifford joins Joel for an uplifting conversation on faith.

A playwright, producer, singer, songwriter and actress, Kathie Lee has starred in numerous television programs and movies in her 45-year career.  She is the four-time Emmy award winning former co-host of the fourth hour of “TODAY,” alongside Hoda Kotb. After 11 years together, Kathie Lee stepped down from that role in 2019 to pursue other creative endeavors. The Gifford-Kotb hour had been hailed as “appointment television” by Entertainment Weekly, and “TODAY’s happy hour” by USA Today.

Prior to NBC News, Gifford served as the co-host of “Live with Regis and Kathie Lee” for 15 years. In 2015 Gifford was inducted into the Broadcast & Cable Hall of Fame. She was recently awarded a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

Darren is an American Film Producer, having produced over 20 movies, known for such films as Blue Miracle (film) a Netflix Original, and Same Kind of Different as Me (film) produced with Paramount Pictures. Other notable Movie and TV Titles include The Hill, Sweetwater (2023 film), Run the Race, Helen I Believe, Boys of Summer (film), and Mark Hamill's Pop Culture Quest with Lionsgate. Darren is the Founder of Reserve Entertainment, which produces and finances inspirational content for the family audience.
