Someone to Turn to When Surgery Is Recommended

In today's episode of "Conversations with Dr. Cowan and Friends," I introduce the newest addition to our New Biology clinic, Omar Almadani. Omar is a Saudi-born physician who did a full plastic-surgery training in Paris, where he still lives. I must admit, when I received Omar's application to join our team, I was surprised that a fully qualified plastic surgeon would have heard of the New Biology Clinic, let alone be interested in joining us. But as you will hear, Omar's journey is far from the usual story for most surgeons. 

In particular, he, like all of us at the New Biology Clinic, set out to find out what is real and true in health, medicine and biology so that we could better help our members. Instead of encountering truth, we met deception, evasion and often corruption. Such experiences are particularly poignant for those facing a surgical procedure, as there is often no place to turn to find out whether the suggested procedure is the only option. So many people have seen enough from conventional medicine to have a deep distrust of its assertions and therapies.  Yet, it can be almost impossible to find someone who truly understands what conventional medicine is offering and whether it is really the only prudent course.  Again, this issue can be daunting when one is faced with the prospect of surgery.

That is precisely the reason I wanted to bring Omar onto our team: to give our members access to an honest exploration of whether a surgical procedure is truly needed, and maybe, more important, whether safer and still successful options exist. 

In addition to exploring whether surgery is necessary, he can also support people who have already had surgery, and the outcome left much to be desired. Although Omar has studied and worked with enough New Biology principles and therapies to be able to work with a wide variety of people, these are his areas of focus.

Our goal is to help our members navigate the mine-field of our current misnamed health-care system. We can serve as a trusted advisor, giving you the real story of what is known about different procedures and therapies offered in conventional medicine.  Then we can offer alternative solutions in many cases. Toward this end, Omar is a welcome and valuable addition to our team.

In today's "Conversations with Dr. Cowan and Friends," I interview the third new practitioner for our New Biology clinic, Dr. Pam Shervanick.

In my experience, everyone takes a different path to a new view of medicine. Some, like me, looked at the evidence and reasoning behind conventional science and medicine, whereas others came to view medicine differently as a result of a personal or family medicine crisis. This second path is very powerful, as typically these people know, for sure, that another way is possible.

I am very happy to announce that we have chosen three new practitioners to staff our New Biology Clinic.  These two interviews introduce two of these practitioners: Mark Edmond, a general practitioner from New Zealand, and Rodney Soto, a neurologist, originally from Ecuador. 

The first question I asked myself when I received their CVs and cover letters is why a GP from New Zealand and a neurologist from Ecuador would be interested in joining our humble new online venture.  It turns out that their answers, though not terribly surprising, are the same answers I heard from almost everyone I interviewed for our clinic.  They essentially said, they are done with the conventional-medical system, and they would love nothing better than to join with like-minded colleagues to forge this new path.  It is the connection with others that is the driving force.  

Yes, as you will hear, they both have studied the new-biology principles and how they relate to helping people in need. But we all realize that, ultimately, we will progress only if we meet as friends and colleagues and ask each other hard questions and learn from one another.

This Is the Best Olive Oil We've Found

For years, the only plant oils I have eaten are olive oil and coconut oil. The rest of the fats in my diet come as the natural components of the foods I eat: butter, lard, ghee, and, occasionally, duck fat or suet. The reason is not only the flavor, smell, ease of cooking and fatty-acid profile, but also because these are the only fats that are easy to extract from the plant or animal in which they are found. Butter is made by churning cream, lard is made by rendering pig fat, ghee is a further refinement of butter, and, as I have often said, to get olive oil, all you need is two large stones and a donkey.

These are the traditional fats that have nourished humans for ages, mostly because of their health-giving properties and their ease of production. In today's podcast, I introduce the exciting olive oil line we are launching.
