Forgiveness Is a Choice: Letting Go of the Weight11 Mar 202600:35:05

Send a text

Alright y’all… this one goes deep.

We hear people say “forgive and forget” all the time like it’s just a cute little Christian bumper sticker. But anybody who’s actually been hurt knows it’s not that simple.

So today we’re talking about forgiveness… the real kind. The kind that shows up when someone never apologized. When trust got broken. When the relationship changed everything about how you see people and how careful you’ve learned to be with your heart.

And here’s where a lot of us get tangled up.

We mix up forgiveness, trust, and access like they’re all the same thing… and they’re not. Not even close.

Forgiveness is a choice.

Trust is something that has to be rebuilt over time.

And access? Access is something people earn.

Sometimes forgiving someone doesn’t mean letting them back into the same place in your life. Sometimes it just means you’ve decided you’re done carrying the weight of what they did.

We’re digging into what Scripture actually says about guarding your heart, trusting wisely, and handing the hurt over to God instead of dragging it into every new relationship that comes after.

Because forgiveness isn’t about pretending it didn’t matter.

It’s about remembering what happened… without letting it run your life anymore.

So grab your coffee and come sit with me for a bit.

This conversation might be exactly the one somebody needed to hear today.

Faith That Says Yes: Obedience Before Clarity | Season 3 Episode 904 Mar 202600:30:02

Send a text

Sometimes God asks us to move before the explanation shows up.

In this episode we’re talking about what it looks like to say yes to God when clarity hasn’t caught up yet. Not the big dramatic moments we read about later, but the quiet everyday obedience where you’re standing in your kitchen wondering if you’re really hearing Him right.

We’ll look at the stories of Noah, Job, and Mary and what their obedience teaches us about trusting God even when things don’t make sense yet.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re waiting for answers before taking the next step, this conversation is for you.

Love Wrapped in Cloth: A Quiet Christmas Reminder17 Dec 202500:13:06

Send a text

Love wrapped in cloth is one of the quietest details of the Christmas story, yet it carries so much meaning. In this episode of Unscripted Conversations, we slow down and reflect on what it means that Jesus chose humility, gentleness, and closeness over comfort. Through Luke 2, Philippians 2, and 2 Corinthians 8, we look at how this simple moment in the manger still speaks to real life today, especially during the busy Christmas season. This conversation is an invitation to pause, breathe, and remember that love doesn’t have to be loud to be powerful.

Life is loud, y’all. Schedules are packed, planners are full, and the middle of the day has a way of swallowing us whole before we even realize it. In today’s episode, “Making Space for Him in the Middle,” we’re talking about what it looks like to invite Jesus into the part of our day that tends to get the least of our attention — the messy middle.

We dive into Matthew 11:28, Revelation 3:20, and the manger scene in Luke 2, pulling out the reminder that Jesus never asked us for perfection… just room. Even a sliver. Even a breath.

S2E27 • Hold Fast: When the Holidays Feel Quiet, Heavy, or Different26 Nov 202500:26:31

Send a text

This week on Unscripted Conversations, we’re talking straight to the heart of the holiday season—the loud years, the quiet years, the busy years, and the years that feel different than you ever expected. Using Hebrews 10–11 as our anchor, we walk through what it really means to hold fast to your faith, your peace, and your sense of purpose even when traditions shift, people scatter, schedules change, and the Thanksgiving table doesn’t look like it used to.

I share stories from my childhood at my Noni’s house—cousins circled on the floor, ads spread everywhere, planning Black Friday like it was a full-contact sport—and how those memories shaped the deep ache so many of us feel when seasons change and the gatherings fade. If you’re heading into the holidays with a quiet house, an empty chair, or a heart that feels a little tender… this episode is for you.

We dig into the heroes of Hebrews 11—Abraham, Sarah, Moses, Noah—and how they held onto God when the promise didn’t match the reality. And we talk about how you can hold fast too… not just in belief, but in action. Reaching out. Inviting others in. Creating belonging right where you are.

If this season feels busy, scattered, or lonely… friend, you are not forgotten. And you don’t have to walk it alone.

• What it really means to hold fast when the holidays shift
• Why nostalgia and grief often collide this time of year
• How Hebrews 10–11 teaches us to cling to God when life feels different
• Faith that moves your feet, not just your feelings
• What to do when traditions fade and connections change
• Ways to reach out, invite in, and create community
• A prayer for anyone heading into Thanksgiving with a tender heart

Scriptures referenced:
 Hebrews 10:23, Hebrews 10:24–25, Hebrews 11:1, Hebrews 11:13

Take a breath. Pull up a seat. Let’s walk this one out together.

If you’re trusting God but still asking when, how long, or what’s next, this conversation is for you. I share why so much of our stress comes from wanting a timeline instead of learning how to stay present, and how faith can stay steady even when answers feel delayed.

Don’t Miss the Miracle: Seeing God’s Hand in Everyday Provision24 Sep 202500:24:53

Send a text

Don’t miss the miracle, y’all. In this week’s episode of Unscripted Conversations, we’re talking about how God shows up in the everyday with provision, peace, and contentment.

I share one of my own miracle stories from when I was a single mama with thirty dollars to feed my boys, and how God provided in a way I’ll never forget. We’ll look at the Lord’s Prayer in Matthew 6, Jesus as the Bread of Life in John 6, the call to contentment in 1 Timothy 6, and the comfort of Psalm 23.

The big takeaway? The miracle isn’t always fire from heaven — most of the time, it’s in the small, steady hand of God providing exactly what we need day by day.

✨ Listen in, be encouraged, and don’t miss the miracle sitting right in front of you.

Power of Praise: Turning Worry into Worship17 Sep 202500:26:46

Are you a professional worrier like me?  If your brain can spin a “what if” story in 30 seconds flat, this episode is for you. In The Power of Praise – Turning Worry into Worship, I share how Philippians 4:6–7, Psalm 34:1, 2 Chronicles 20:22, Acts 16, and Isaiah 61:3 invite us to trade panic for peace.

We’ll talk about why praise shifts the atmosphere, how worship can crack open the blinds and let the light in, and why sometimes the most powerful thing you can do is sing in the middle of the storm. Along the way, I’ll share real stories from my own life — the late-night what-ifs, the craft room chaos, and even a few laughs about Sam’s love for living in the dark.

If worry has been stealing your peace, it’s time to flip the script. Worry doesn’t add a thing to your life — but worship adds everything. Come join me on the porch for a conversation that’ll leave you lighter, encouraged, and ready to praise God in the middle of whatever season you’re in.

Faith That Keeps Moving When God Feels Quiet18 Feb 202600:35:46

Send a text

There are times where faith doesn’t feel dramatic or urgent — it just feels quiet.

You’re still doing the right things. You’re still praying. Still showing up. Still trying to walk in wisdom. But if you’re honest, you’re wondering if anything is actually moving forward… or if you’re just living the same day on repeat.

In this episode, I’m talking about that quiet middle place of faith — the times where obedience feels repetitive, progress feels invisible, and God feels silent, even though you haven’t walked away.

We’re talking about the difference between urgency and obedience, why patience isn’t passivity, and what Scripture actually says about waiting without forcing movement. I unpack Habakkuk 2:3 and why “lingering” doesn’t mean forgotten, delayed, or behind — it means there’s a timing that isn’t ours to manage.

This is a conversation for anyone who isn’t falling apart, but isn’t sure what’s next either. For the ones who are steady, faithful, and quietly wondering if it all matters.

Faith that keeps moving doesn’t always feel exciting — but it is rooted.
And sometimes the most important growth is happening in the seasons that feel the most ordinary.

Let Go, Let God: Forgiveness Is Hard30 Jul 202500:33:14

Send a text

Let’s be honest… forgiveness is hard.
Not just the “I forgive you” kind that we say with a half-smile and a clenched jaw, but the deep, soul-level kind. The kind that means letting go of the right to be angry. The kind that asks you to release the past — even when you never got an apology.

In this raw and real episode of Unscripted Conversations, I’m diving into what it truly means to “Let Go and Let God.” Not in a cliché way, but in a way that frees your heart and lifts the weight you've been carrying around for way too long.

We’re talking about:

  • Why forgiveness isn’t forgetting — and it’s definitely not excusing
  • How unforgiveness clogs up your spiritual life like a bad drain
  • What the Bible actually says about letting go
  • And yes… how sometimes the person you need to forgive the most is staring back at you in the mirror

This one is for the people who are tired of holding on to the hurt. For the ones who smile on the outside but are still bleeding on the inside. For anyone who’s ever whispered, “God, I want to let go… but I don’t know how.”

Grab your coffee, a tissue, and maybe your journal — because we’re going deep today.

Scriptures shared in this episode:

  • Colossians 3:13
  • Luke 6:37
  • Ephesians 4:31–32
  • Matthew 6:14–15
  • Psalm 103:12

And just a heads up: you might feel lighter by the time this ends. That’s what happens when we hand things over to the One who was never asking us to carry it alone in the first place. 💛

Walking in Wisdom: One Faithful Step at a Time11 Feb 202600:23:45

Send a text

What do Proverbs 31 and Peter walking on water have in common?

More than you think.

In this episode, we unpack what walking in wisdom actually looks like — and why neither of these stories is about perfection. They’re about a steady walk with God, built over time, even when confidence wavers.

Proverbs 31 was never meant to make you feel behind. It was meant to show the fruit of a life shaped by steady faith over time.

And when you lay that next to Peter stepping out of the boat, something clicks.

Neither story is about perfection. Both are about proximity. About saying yes before you feel fully confident. About walking toward Jesus even when the wind picks up.

I may have gotten a little loud on this one… because I think too many women are trying to “arrive” at wisdom instead of realizing it’s something you grow into by walking with God.

If you’ve been carrying pressure lately, this one might be exactly what you need.

Faith Beyond the Door: Purpose, Work, and Influence04 Feb 202600:25:48

Send a text

Have you ever ended the day completely worn out—not because you didn’t work hard, but because you wondered if any of it really mattered?

In this episode of Unscripted Conversations, we’re continuing our Faith in Motion series and taking another slow, intentional step through Proverbs 31. Today we’re talking about purpose, work, and influence beyond the front door—and how God never intended calling to feel like constant pressure or burnout.

We’ll look at Proverbs 31:16–25 and what it teaches us about wisdom, discernment, and carrying responsibility without running ourselves into the ground. We’ll also connect this passage to the story of Lydia in Acts 16 and Jesus’ words in Matthew 5:16, reminding us that influence doesn’t have to be loud to be meaningful.

This conversation is for the woman who wants to be faithful, work hard, and live well—but doesn’t want to lose her peace in the process.

Grab your coffee, take a breath, and let’s talk about what it really looks like to live out faith beyond the door.

Faith at Home: The Quiet Strength of a Proverbs 31 Life28 Jan 202600:27:18

Send a text

In this episode of Unscripted Conversations, we continue our Proverbs 31 series by shifting the focus from pressure to presence. Instead of reading Proverbs 31 as a checklist, we look at what faith looks like when it’s lived out at home—in the ordinary, unseen, everyday places where most of life actually happens.

This conversation explores the quiet strength of faithfulness through Proverbs 31, the story of Ruth, and Colossians 3:23, reminding us that what we’re doing matters to God even when it feels small or unnoticed. Faith at home isn’t about perfection—it’s about attentiveness, consistency, and loving well right where God has planted you.

The Proverbs 31 Woman: Not a Checklist, but a Calling21 Jan 202600:25:57

Send a text

Proverbs 31 is often treated like a checklist — a standard to measure ourselves against and quietly feel behind on. But what if it was never meant to be that?

In this episode of Unscripted Conversations, we’re slowing down and looking at Proverbs 31 through a different lens. Not as a list of expectations, but as a calling shaped over time. We talk about worth before work, trust before tasks, and character before capability — and how wisdom shows up in real life, not hustle culture.

We also connect Proverbs 31 to the story of Mary and Martha, exploring the difference between busyness and presence, responsibility and wisdom, striving and being rooted.

This conversation is an invitation to release pressure, rethink what faithfulness actually looks like, and remember that God cares more about who we’re becoming than how much we’re producing.

Grab your Bible, slow your pace, and join me as we open Proverbs 31 together — not to rush through it, but to let it speak into the life we’re actually living right now.

Walking It Out in Real Life: Resolutions Part 214 Jan 202600:22:09

Send a text

In this episode of Unscripted Conversations, Ashley finishes out her Proverbs 3 “resolutions” and brings them straight into real life. Not the quiet-time version. The Monday-morning, busy-days, tired-evenings version.

This conversation is about learning how to live out your faith when your schedule is full, your heart is tired, and life hasn’t slowed down just because God spoke to you.

We talk about:
 – Letting God be your security instead of living braced for what might happen next
 – Showing up with kindness while you can
 – Protecting your peace and choosing grace over grudges
 – Living gently in a loud world
 – And what it really means to “walk it out” instead of just talking about it

This episode is an invitation to live steady, faithful, and real, not perfect, not pressured, just honest.

Faith in Motion: Who I’m Becoming (Proverbs 3 Resolutions – Part 1)07 Jan 202600:27:46

Send a text

If you’ve ever made resolutions that looked good on paper but didn’t really change your heart, you’re not alone.

Season 3 of Unscripted Conversations is called Faith in Motion, and this season is about letting your faith stop being something you mostly talk about and start being something you actually live out.

In this first episode, we open Proverbs chapter 3 and walk through the heart-level resolutions that shape who we’re becoming, not just what we’re doing. We talk about love, trust, humility, living open-handed, receiving God’s correction, and choosing wisdom over noise.

This episode is Part 1 of a two-part teaching on Proverbs 3. Next week, we’ll talk about how we walk these out in real life.

You can find the free Proverbs 3 Resolutions printable on the blog at simplyblesseddesignz.com.
