In this video we discuss the logistics involved in designing a ram pump. We cover everything from site selection and analysis to measuring elevations as well as calculating Hydraulic Ram Pump data to determine water delivery, pressure, volume and more. Included in the video (and below) is a ton of resource information from calculating expected delivery volume to standpipe sizing as well as pump operation theory. Peter Head is a Musician, Amateur Radio Operator and an expert on APRS or Automatic Packet Reporting System for Amateur Radio. Peter shares some of the many things APRS can do including GPS location and tracking, text messaging and even satellite communications as well as talking to the International Space Station. Peter even shares an interesting story about how he and some other hams were able to send a message via APRS from one end of the Appalachian trail to the other referred to as the "Golden Packet". He also shares how one amateur radio operator is able to use APRS to detect when his bee hives are swarming.

Tonight’s guest Ian Steppler and I discuss honey bees and related  practices and management. Ian tells us how he overwinters his bees in  his extreme cold environmenrt in Manitoba, Canada. He also shares his  perspectives on disease management, using natural pollen sources, and  how what he’s learned as a beekeeper has changed his perspectives on  some of his farming practices and that interaction with the land. He  also walks us through an overview of his seasonal management.

Tonight I talked a little comparing regenerative  vs degenerative agricultural models and touched on a few ecological  impact points. I talked a bit about my greenhouse and thermal management  system using Raspberry Pi. Later, Justin Goodearth called in and shared Deep Water Culture (DWC) Hydroponics Cannabis agriculture with us and  then he and I tossed ideas around about how to use a combination of that  and Korean Natural Farming with Aquaculture.

Tonight’s show was on the difference between natural and unnatural  economics. Later in the show, Justin Goodearth called in and we dug into  that discussion a little deeper and even touched on some politics and  other bigger systemic issues. We discussed how stocks, bonds,  cryptocurrencies and other fiat currencies are not representative of the  real world we live in. We also talked about the disconnect people seem  to have as a result of not being plugged into their natural environment.
