Sam is an LSCW- supervisor and founder of Strong Roots Psychotherapy in Austin Texas. He was born and raised in the UK and trained as a Social worker at the University of Sussex in Brighton.
He crossed the pond in 2016 and began his career in child welfare in Kansas City before moving to Austin, TX in 2018 to work in a group practice and pursue his passion for music, specifically playing the drums :)
Sam started Strong Roots Psychotherapy in March 2021, and during that time he worked with Robin Ticic towards his Coherence Therapy certification. CT and the reconsolidation process have become the focus of Sam’s work with clients and he seeks to deepen this work with continued training and consultation. Sam works with a range of clients but finds joy in helping folks find deeper meaning in their past, and how adaptive ways of coping in childhood are in full force in the present day! As an emotionally-focused, attachment-based, and trauma-informed therapist, Marley utilizes two modalities to guide clients towards repair, reconnection, and inner healing. The Comprehensive Resource Model (CRM) is an approach that focuses on reconnecting clients with their innate internal resources to help them overcome the obstacles caused by trauma. Using a variety of techniques, including imagery, breath work, and body awareness, CRM helps clients access and utilize their internal resources to facilitate healing.
