Walter Gainer on building a content engine, making B2B content more creative, and why consistency matters more than doing everything manually.

In this episode, Eric sits down with Walter Gainer to talk about content systems, podcast growth, creator strategy, video-first production, and what it really takes to stay relevant in a fast-changing media landscape.

Walter shares his journey from aspiring college athlete to podcast producer, content strategist, and media professional working across entertainment, branded content, and creator partnerships. The conversation explores the realities of building in public, evolving from technical execution into creative direction, and learning how to turn one idea into many pieces of content without burning out.

If you are a podcaster, creator, marketer, or business owner trying to grow your brand through content, this episode is packed with practical perspective. You will learn why creative risk matters, how great clips are really made, what AI can and cannot replace, and why the future belongs to people who can build smart systems instead of relying on constant hustle.

In this episode, you’ll learn:

•How Walter Gainer built his career across podcasting, media, content strategy, and creator marketing

•Why the best B2B content is becoming more creative, human, and entertaining

•What separates average clips from short-form content that actually performs

•How to think about AI tools without losing the human edge in storytelling

•Why rest, pacing, and long-term consistency matter for creators and podcasters

•What podcast monetization looks like across audio, video, YouTube, Spotify, and Apple

•How creators can build systems that turn one recording into many assets

Key takeaways from Walter Gainer

Walter explains that content growth is no longer just about producing more. It is about building a repeatable system. He also makes the case that creators and brands alike need to move beyond safe, overly polished content if they want to stand out. One of the strongest themes in this episode is that creative strategy, narrative instinct, and human judgment still matter, even as automation tools become more powerful.

Another major takeaway is Walter’s mindset around sustainability. Instead of chasing constant output, he talks about returning to podcasting with more patience, better pacing, and a healthier relationship with ambition. That perspective makes this conversation especially valuable for anyone feeling pressure to publish more, do more, and be everywhere at once.

12 Days of Christmas: Quick Content Creation Tips – Day 6: Build a Content Folder for B-Roll & Faster Edits

Épisode 178

Send us Fan Mail

The 12 Days of Christmas series on Clipped continues with another quick, practical tip to help creators stay consistent and speed up their editing workflow. Today is Day 6 of 12, and this episode focuses on building and maintaining a content (B-roll) folder—something every video podcaster, YouTuber, and creator should have.

This episode breaks down why a personal B-roll library makes content creation smoother, faster, and less stressful. Whether you’re filling gaps in an edit, adding visual texture, or covering a mistake, having reusable footage on hand gives you way more flexibility when producing videos.

📁 Why a Content Folder Matters

If you’re creating video regularly, you’ll eventually need cutaways—B-roll that adds context, pacing, or visual interest. That footage can come from your phone, your studio, AI tools, or stock libraries. The key is saving it once and reusing it later instead of starting from scratch every time.

🎥 Need B-Roll Fast? Riverside Can Help

Try Riverside’s new AI Video Generator, a tool that automatically creates realistic, high-quality B-roll from a simple text prompt. It’s fast, creative, and saves hours in post-production. Use promo code CLIPPED at Riverside.fm for 20% off your subscription.

Episode Takeaways:

  • A B-roll or content folder saves time and reduces friction during editing
  • Footage can come from your smartphone, studio sessions, behind-the-scenes clips, or gear shots
  • Save stock clips or visuals you’ve already used—you’ll want them again
  • AI-generated video (like Riverside’s tools or other platforms) is worth archiving for future edits
  • Organizing by category or keyword makes footage easy to find when you need it
  • B-roll helps smooth transitions, cover mistakes, and add visual energy to your videos
  • Holiday downtime is a great chance to record extra footage and build your library

Day 6 is all about having content ready before you need it. Start saving now, and future-you will thank you.

Why Repurpose?

The answer is simple: maximizing value. In the dynamic landscape of podcasting, content from past episodes can be a goldmine of untapped potential.

Repurposing isn't just about recycling; it's about reimagining and enhancing what you've already created to meet the evolving needs and interests of your listeners. It’s a strategic approach to content creation that saves time, fosters creativity, and keeps your audience hooked.

How To Repurpose Old Podcast Episodes Compilations – The Ultimate Remix

Creating a compilation episode is like crafting a 'best of' mixtape. It involves cherry-picking insightful moments from various episodes and blending them into a new narrative. This method not only highlights the best of your content but also showcases diverse perspectives on a specific theme, making it a powerful listening experience.

Refreshing Old Episodes

The podcasting world is ever-changing, and so are our views and tools. Updating old episodes with new insights, tools, or perspectives can transform them into relevant, updated content. This approach keeps your content evergreen, ensuring your advice and insights remain pertinent no matter when they're listened to.

Listener Q&A – Engaging and Personalizing

Incorporating listener questions and voice memos adds a personalized touch to your episodes. Responding to specific listener queries or elaborating on past topics fosters a deeper connection with your audience and makes your content more interactive and engaging.

Guest Follow-Ups – Stories That Continue

Revisiting past guests to update or follow-up on their stories adds depth and continuity to your podcast. It creates a narrative arc that listeners can follow, offering insights into how ideas, projects, or predictions have evolved since their last appearance.

Repurposing Final Thoughts

From creating compelling compilations to updating older episodes with fresh perspectives, engaging with listener questions, and revisiting past guests, these techniques ensure your podcast remains dynamic, relevant, and intriguing.

It's not just about reusing content; it's about reshaping it to add value and maintain a strong connection with your audience.

Monetizing Content with the Amazon Influencer Program

mercredi 27 décembre 2023Durée 12:56

Send us Fan Mail

Welcome to another insightful episode of Clipped,, where today we're diving into the world of the Amazon Influencer Program. If you're familiar with the Amazon Associates Program, this one offers a different, yet equally promising, avenue for monetizing your content.

In this episode, we unravel the mysteries of the Amazon Influencer Program, understand how it differs from the Associates Program, and explore how you can leverage it to earn commissions by influencing your audience.

The Amazon Influencer Program is a relatively new venture by Amazon, aimed at allowing influencers - like you and us - to earn by promoting products we believe in.

Unlike traditional affiliate marketing, this program enables you to set up your own Amazon storefront and share product recommendations through videos, lists, and posts, much like a social media platform within Amazon itself.

What's fascinating is how these influencer videos integrate into the Amazon ecosystem, appearing alongside customer reviews and Q&A sections on product pages.

This visibility can drive significant traffic and, ultimately, sales, leading to commission earnings for the influencer.

In terms of eligibility, Amazon is quite inclusive, accepting influencers with a presence on YouTube, Instagram, Facebook, or TikTok. However, Instagram and Facebook users need a business account for application.

While Amazon remains vague about the exact follower count required, it seems that having a few hundred followers might be a good starting point, as I got accepted with my 3,000 Instagram followers.

Episode Highlights
  • It’s different from the Associates Program, focusing on leveraging social media presence to drive sales.

  • A step-by-step guide to getting started once accepted into the program.

  • Advice on producing engaging content without needing high production value - authenticity and relevance are key.

  • Insights into the application process and requirements, especially the need for a business account on certain platforms.

  • A realistic look at potential earnings, with personal anecdotes and a commitment to share detailed commission structures in the show notes.

  • Amazon Live – A New Frontier: Exploring the potential of Amazon Live for influencers, akin to a digital QVC platform, and its impact on sales.

  • Strategies for podcasters to leverage their specific niches (beauty, pet care, etc.) for product recommendations on Amazon.
