Nelson Grant - Motorcycle injuries and Business Plans
lundi 21 octobre 2024 • Durée 01:39:02
Nelson Grant is a Sheriff's Deputy and Search and Rescue Team member in the Flathead Valley. In addition to his current duties, he has previous experience on the SWAT Team and Narcotics Task Force. Normally, Nelson and I get the chance to hunt yearly, but this year he decided to turn his foot 180 degrees in the wrong direction while recently riding his dirtbike.
When not on duty Nelson enjoys partaking in just about every activity that Northwestern Montana has to offer. Bowhunting, rifle hunting, river raft guiding, dual-sport motorcycle guiding, backcountry split boarding and skiing, touring, trekking, downhill mountain bike riding, jiu-jitsu, and probably even more that I am forgetting.
If there was ever a renaissance man of the Montana mountains, Nelson is it.

Who is More Toxic - Army or Prison?
vendredi 8 décembre 2023 • Durée 16:42
I cannot believe that we live in a world where this is an actual discussion or conversation point, but here we are.
My thoughts on the recent viral social media video discussing who is more toxic, someone in prison or someone in the military.

Welcome to Focal Point - Episode 001
vendredi 1 décembre 2023 • Durée 19:30
Where do you go to consume your news? Can we even call it that anymore? Is it actually the "news," or is it editorialized information designed to elicit a specific response?
One of my favorite quotes comes from a recent conversation with Sebastian Junger, paraphrasing: "The role of the media is not to tell you what to think, but to let you know what to think about."
In a sea of media resources designed to only tell you how to think, we are going to try something different. Our goal is to have conversations about relevant topics where we offer our opinions based on experience and leave it up to the audience to decide what to think on their own.
I am not interested in being right, I just want us all to collectively be "better."

The Other Side of Psychedelics with Taylor Duckett
lundi 20 novembre 2023 • Durée 02:40:18
In today's episode, I sit down with Taylor Ducket, a 33-year-old husband and father with a compelling story that diverges from the usual narrative surrounding psychedelic usage. Taylor shares his journey, revealing the lesser-discussed, challenging aspects of his deep dive into psychedelics at 17. This conversation uncovers the harsh realities and potential downsides of psychedelic experiences, a topic often overshadowed by positive treatment stories.
Taylor's story is a cautionary tale, illustrating the profound impact unguided psychedelic exploration can have on the unprepared mind, especially in the absence of resources like social media or informational platforms, which were scarce back in 2007. Despite his struggles, Taylor's journey through four years of silent suffering led to a remarkable transformation, granting him an appreciation for life and resilience against adversity.
Join us as Taylor and Andy delve into this critical discussion, aiming to provide a more balanced view of psychedelic usage, its risks, and its impact on mental health. This episode is a must-listen for anyone curious about the full spectrum of psychedelic experiences, serving as a reminder of the importance of informed and cautious exploration in these profound, yet potentially perilous, realms.
