In this first episode of 'Clear Intentions’ (formerly the Minimalist Moms podcast) I reconnect with friend, Ginny Yurich - the founder of 1000 Hours Outside. In this conversation we cover how she juggles multiple roles as a homeschooling mom, author, and outdoor advocate. What does she outsource? If anything? I had to know! And, of course, I couldn’t let Ginny go without discussing ways to spend our time outdoors - specifically she discusses encouragement for teenagers, tired moms and for those living in colder environments. | Minimalism as a Tool to Discovering Purpose | Sarah Horgan (EP375) | 14 Jan 2025 | 00:44:20 | |
Joining me for today's episode is host of the Simple Intentional Podcast, Sarah Horgan. After a stage four cancer diagnosis ten years ago, Sarah found herself reevaluating her life, leading her to embrace a minimalist lifestyle and confront perfectionism and people-pleasing habits.During our conversation, Sarah opens up about how this life-altering experience helped her discover a deeper sense of purpose and how significant life events, such as losing a loved one, can bring clarity and inspire change. She shares practical strategies for decluttering your life, staying mindful amidst the challenges of motherhood, and focusing on incremental progress to achieve long-term goals. Minimalism isn't just an aesthetic, rather it can be a tool to discover greater purpose and clarity in life. About Sarah |Sarah is a full-time working mom + wife, who lived with clutter and found her way to the other side. She radically changed her own life after a stage 4 cancer diagnosis. Forced to examine everything, including her perfectionism and people pleasing, she realized all the stuff (and not just the physical stuff) was standing in her way of living her life, her way. After embracing minimalism and finding her way to simplicity, Sarah started simple + intentional to support other women to do the same. She encourages + inspires others through her instagram account, podcast and online membership community. Sarah lives in Toronto with her husband and daughter. She loves the outdoors, a strong cup of tea and is following her dreams, one step at a time.

| “I Am Out With Lanterns Looking For Myself” with Maggie Smith (Bonus Episode) | 10 Nov 2023 | 00:38:33 | |
"What now? I am out with lanterns, looking for myself. But here’s the thing about carrying light with you: No matter where you go, and no matter what you find—or don’t find—you change the darkness just by entering it. You clear a path through it.... A quote from Emily Dickinson that begins the lovely new memoir of poet, Maggie Smith. I picked up her book on vacation over the summer and finished within a couple of days. What some are calling a 'divorce memoir' actually discredits the profound truths of self-discovery in life's second chapter. Join me for a bonus discussion with Maggie Smith as she explores: "the power of learning to come home to yourself." ------------------------------- Links Discussed in This Episode

| Values-Based Budgeting with Janice Scholl (REPLAY) | 23 Sep 2023 | 00:37:13 | |
I rarely re-release an episode but I found myself scrolling through the podcast archives and saw that this episode had very few downloads. I looked at the release date and noticed that it had originally aired in the early summer of 2020. I can pretty much guarantee most of us were a bit distracted at that point in time but this is a conversation that is a worthwhile listen. So here we go - a replay of "Values-Based Budgeting" with my guest, Janice Scholl. --------------------- Today I bring you my conversation with host of the The Money, Career & Motherhood Podcast, Janice Scholl. Janice has made an entire career out of talking about money and business. She found her purpose when she began mentoring female entrepreneurs in 2012. Today, we define how value-based budgeting varies from a typical budget. The budget is designed to help people have the money to spend it on the things they want to. It shouldn’t feel like a restrictor but an enabler. Changing your family’s financial future requires a change in behavior and there’s no better time to start than today. ------------------------------- Links Discussed in This Episode
