| Christmas 2025 - Slay Bells Ring... Are You Listening? | 24 Dec 2025 | 01:15:09 | |
How time flies - another year has passed and it is time for another Christmas Ghost Story. If you are new to us - Welcome - and if you have followed us for a while - you are very welcome back. We have a first for you this year because this year's tale is an original - never seen or heard - or indeed read until now. It also includes original music from my nephew - Sam. Set in that narrow hour before midnight, when bells wait in their towers and houses hold their breath. It is a story of echoes rather than apparitions, of something unfinished, and of a presence that does not return to haunt — but to be heard. The Bells of Marlowe House is told in the best Victorian traditions - with music composed and recorded by my amazing nephew - Sam Gold - who you can find here: @samgold_music. Jon Briggs is a journalist, broadcaster and voice over. You may know him better as the original voice of Siri in the UK ("Daniel" on all Apple devices) or the BBC's Weakest Link quiz show. | Christmas 2023 - We Wish You a Scary Christmas | 24 Dec 2023 | 00:31:00 | |
Thank you for taking the time to download and listen to this year's scary festive tale. It's a real cracker this year- and you don't even have to wear the paper hat! The Tale of the Monkey's Paw in it's original form, as written by W.W. Jacobs, is a "3 wishes" story with a cautionary tale enclosed. Although subsequently made into several films, the original story remains the scariest and the best. Send me a text - I love hearing what you think of these stories and knowing where you're from!
