Breaking News -- Former Secretary of State Colin Powell has died of complications from COVID. The retired four-star general, secretary of state, and chairman of the joint chiefs of staff died this morning. He was 84. Powell's family said he died of COVID-19 complications, even though he was fully vaccinated. Seventeen missionaries and family members from a u-s based group have been kidnapped in Haiti. Sixteen of those abducted, just outside Port-au-Prince, are American -- including as many as five children. The seventeenth person is Canadian. Pfizer's booster is still the only one authorized -- but an FDA panel has voted to recommend an additional half- dose of the Moderna shot -- for seniors and those with high- risk health conditions -- six months after their second dose. For those who got the Johnson and Johnson shot -- the panel went further, recommending boosters for people 18 and older, at least two months after they were vaccinated. Jury selection begins today in Georgia in a closely watched murder trial for the killing of Ahmaud Arbery. Former President Bill Clinton is back home in New York this morning, after five nights in a hospital near Los Angeles. Prince William and his wife, Kate, led the first-ever Earthshot prize awards in London last night.
