In this episode we continue our month long celebration of the rosary by recounting the telling of the Battle of Lepanto as retold by Michael Greaney, in his book “Ten Battles Every Catholic Should Know”, with a little help from the champions of the rosary by Fr. Calloway. We’ll go over the brief history of conflicts leading up to the battle, the people, places, vessels, key battle points, and new naval warfare strategical developments. We’ll briefly reveal the name of a famous author who fought on the bows of the ships at Lepanto, and we will even have a brief mention of how Our Lady was present amidst the fight, and then at the end as an added treat, a poetry reading of “Lepanto” by G.K. Chesterton. I know Holy Saturday was almost a week ago now, however, I felt this video would be a beneficial meditation while we are still within the Octave of Easter. Today is March 19th, The Solemnity of St Joseph!!!! In honor of this great and powerful Saint, my middle namesake, and Terror of Demons, I put together a scriptural form of the St. Joseph's Rosary! It took me quite a while to finish this one up and record, after a work day that went almost over 11 and a half hours!!! Fitting, for the Patron of all Workers. Because of this I would like to apologize for the lack of energy and the fumbling of some of my words. I do hope you enjoy! I hope you have a wonderful and blessed Solemnity of St. Joseph! In this episode we pick up where we left off talking about Lent, and the development of our tradition. Mainly focusing this episode on the development of fasting and how we got to where we are today. Also, before that I explain a little bit about some of the things the Church requests us to do during the Lenten Season, while we prepare to celebrate the death and resurrection, of Our Lord, on Good Friday and then Easter Sunday. I hope to upload a few more Lent themed episodes covering a few practices that hopefully you can use for the rest of our time during Lent to help you contemplate about the reason we partake in these observances, such as fasting. Also be on the lookout on the 19th I'll be releasing a St. Joseph's Rosary recitation in honor of our celebration of this great Saints feast day.

In this episode, I explain the Buddhist tradition of "Khao Phansa", or also known as the Buddhist Lenten season, and figured I would take the opportunity to show the differences between it, and the history of the development of the Catholic Lenten Season and show why saying "Buddhist Lent" is not accurate.. To do it, I read from the Catholic Answers website, for a brief timeline of the Catholic Churches Lenten history. Mainly focusing on the development of the forty days of the Lenten season from as early as we can go, to the present day. In the next episode we will pick up where we left off and go over the development of the Lenten Fast. I will include the link to the Catholic Answers website I used below in case you would all like to go and read for yourself. In this episode we go over our very first installment of Catholic History. I read about 20-30 mins worth of Catholic history at a time of my own notes taken from various Catholic history books. In this episode we have the early church. First I give a brief overview of the gospels, very brief... and then I move on discussing an overview of the early church until Paul. We discuss a bit about Paul and his travels and accomplishments. After that we move on to the first council of Jerusalem and then on to the Jewish Christians and their plight. Enjoy! In this episode we briefly revisit the four noble truths so that we can discuss the 8 fold path, and how by itself it may pose an issue in regards to relativism, but how paired with something such as the beatitudes (out of Matthew chapter 5) can make the 8 fold path a useful tool on how to live well and to be at peace, and to also treat others compassionately and empathetically. In essence when one asks; “what is right/complete action as stated in the 8 fold path?” You can answer with the beatitude(s) that states; “blessed are those who show mercy, who are meek, who are humble.” The beatitudes complete the path, the path provides chances to practice the beatitudes, win win situation. Ever seen a toddler have a moment with a statue? A tender moment with a hug? Or possibly a conversation? Earlier today I saw a video of a toddler hugging a statue of the Virgin Mary, and it made me think of how Zen and Christianity refer to children in some of their stories and in zen how a child’s mind relates to a “zen mind”. In this episode of our Scriptures and Parables segment we go over the idea or concept of being like a child, to do so we read a few passages from the Douay Rheims Bible and we read a few zen parables to highlight how Zen and Buddhists see children as being of pure mind or clean mind, and how Christ used a child as an example of the greatest of the kingdom of heaven in humility. A pure mind and extreme humility, could these be related? Let’s explore the stories and a little of their meaning and ultimately, in the end, I’ll let you decide...
