A Deep Conversation with My Sister - Standing Tall with Abby Dufficy29 Jan 202501:00:31

In this uplifting episode, I sit down with my incredible sister, Abby Dufficy, to discuss her inspiring journey from struggling with her height to embracing it and creating a global community of tall women.

Growing up 6’1” from her early teens, Abby faced bullying and often felt isolated due to her height. She shares how this led her to keep herself and her life small for years, trying to avoid attention. But now, in her midlife, she’s rewriting the narrative. Abby opens up about how she found the courage to embrace her uniqueness, build a thriving online community for tall women, and launch her own clothing brand, Olim London, designed specifically to empower and celebrate tall women.

We dive into the challenges Abby faced in finding clothing that fit, the pivotal moment that inspired her to design her own pieces, and the joy she’s found in creating a supportive space where tall women can connect and share their stories. Abby’s journey is a testament to the power of owning your story, celebrating what makes you unique, and using your voice to inspire others.

Whether you’re tall, know someone who is, or just love stories of transformation and empowerment, this episode is packed with heartfelt moments, relatable experiences, and Abby’s contagious enthusiasm for life and fashion.

Takeaways:

  • Embrace what makes you unique instead of trying to hide it.
  • Build a supportive community to connect with others who share your experiences.
  • Turn personal challenges into opportunities for creativity and growth.
  • Celebrate your individuality—it can become your greatest strength.
  • Use your voice to inspire and empower others who feel isolated or unseen.
  • Invest in yourself by pursuing a dream that solves a problem you’ve experienced.
  • Confidence comes from owning your story, not from conforming to others’ expectations

In this life-affirming conversation with Suzy Reading, we explore the importance of self-care during the winter months and how to embrace winter as a wonderful, nurturing season, not just a season to ‘get through’.

The discussion emphasises the need for connection with nature and ‘awe hunting’, the importance of comforting rituals and community, as well as the value of reflection as a means to foster well-being during the colder, darker months. Suzy demonstrates some practical exercises that take just moments to do but will completely lift your day.

Suzy’s concept of ‘Gentle January’ is a balanced approach to post-holiday wellness that ensures you are looking after yourself during the winter months and investing in your future self whilst doing so.

How To Reprogram Your Mind, Rewrite Your Past and Transform Your Future? Matrix Re-Imprint & EFT Expert Practitioner, Bella Chater19 Feb 202500:50:39

In this episode, La is talking with the incredible Bella Chater - an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner specialising in emotional resilience, subconscious reprogramming, and somatic healing. With over a decade of experience using EFT, she helps individuals release emotional blocks, rewire limiting beliefs, and regulate their nervous system to create deep and lasting transformation

Her approach is holistic yet practical with a goal to help clients process emotional stress, reduce anxiety, and rewrite subconscious patterns at the root. Unlike traditional methods that focus on symptom management, Bella works on a somatic level, creating change not just on a mindset level but at a physiological and subconscious level. This means real shifts in how you think, feel, and automatically respond to stress, anxiety, and emotional triggers—helping you step into greater clarity, confidence, and resilience in both your personal and professional life.

How It Works:

EFT (Tapping) has been scientifically shown to reduce cortisol—the body’s main stress hormone—by up to 43% in just one session. Matrix Reimprinting goes even deeper, helping to rewire subconscious childhood imprints and replace outdated emotional patterns with empowering new ones. This approach is particularly effective for inner child healing, self-sabotage, and deeply ingrained limiting beliefs.

How to Reverse MS and Autoimmune Diseases with Elrina Pretorius26 Mar 202500:54:09

80% of Autoimmune Diseases Affect Women - but my guest has freed herself from all MS symptoms completely.

In this incredibly important episode, the incomparable Elrina Pretorius shares her extraordinary story of how she overcame all of her MS symptoms to the degree that she doesn't even remember she has MS! She wants people to know that they have a choice and that healing is possible.

Over 20 years ago, Elrina was diagnosed with MS and told to expect a future of decline. But she wasn’t willing to accept that. She started digging - researching, questioning, and testing everything she could to understand what was really possible for her health. Through shifts in mindset, movement, nutrition, and lifestyle, she has remained relapse-free for over a decade and is living a full, active life.

Her journey also transformed how she approaches health—not just for herself, but for others. Trained as a physiotherapist, she later pursued acupuncture, neurology, and lifestyle medicine, completely rethinking the way chronic illness is treated. Studying acupuncture was a pivotal moment, opening her eyes to a whole-body approach that goes beyond just treating symptoms. Lifestyle medicine further reinforced how much power we actually have over our own health.

Today Elrina shares her insights, cutting through the fear and confusion around health. Whether it’s navigating a diagnosis, overcoming fatigue, or simply optimizing wellbeing, her approach is practical, relatable, and grounded in both science and real-life experience. She believes that with the right knowledge and tools, people can take back control of their health—and she’s here to help them do just that.

TO WORK WITH ELRINA:

Elrina believes that knowledge is power and through education and support her objective is to give her clients control back over their own health and quality of life.

ADHD Women's Wellbeing with Top Podcast Host & Author Kate Moryoussef29 Apr 202501:12:50

If you've been diagnosed or self-identify with ADHD - or maybe you just suspect it and want to know more - this episode is for you. Or perhaps there's someone in your life who really needs to hear this... go ahead and send it their way.

I'm joined by the wonderful Kate Moryoussef, host of the award winning ADHD Women's Wellbeing Podcast. In this conversation, we open up about the real, often misunderstood experience of ADHD in women - especially those of us discovering it later in life. From the emotional rollercoaster of diagnosis to the relief of finally understanding ourselves we talk about the challenges, the breakthroughs and the beauty that can come from owning our neurodiversity.

We explore how trauma can shape our ADHD journey, the struggles we’ve faced in medical systems and why so many of us have felt unseen or mislabeled for years. We also dive into key tools that have helped - from boundaries and nutrition to Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) and calming nervous system practices. Most importantly we reflect on how powerful community, compassion and self-acceptance can be.

You’ll hear about:

  • Why so many women go undiagnosed for decades
  • The role trauma can play in how ADHD shows up
  • Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria and emotional overwhelm
  • Lifestyle shifts that actually help
  • How to stop masking and start aligning with who we really are
  • The importance of boundaries, rest and joy
  • Why community is one of our greatest healing tools

Connect with Kate:

Alongside hosting the award-winning ADHD Women's Wellbeing Podcast, Kate is an ADHD lifestyle and wellbeing coach, author, EFT practitioner, mum of four, and late-in-life diagnosed with ADHD herself.

My Midlife ADHD Diagnosis - When Everything Finally Made Self22 Apr 202500:22:19

FREE DOWNLOAD HERE! A free guide from your host to help you build calm into your day and regulate your nervous system. If you need some gentle support in every day life and some simple, quick tools to help you feel more like you again, download this FREE GUIDE NOW.

This episode is a heartfelt prequel to next week’s powerful conversation with Kate Moryoussef, host of The ADHD Women’s Wellbeing Podcast - where they dive even deeper into the world of women, wellness and ADHD.

In this solo episode, La shares her own journey of being diagnosed with ADHD in midlife - a moment that brought both clarity and complexity.

After years of feeling “too much” or “not enough,” La finally had language for things like time blindnessemotional overwhelm and Rejection Sensitivity Dysphoria (RSD). This diagnosis became a lens through which she could finally understand her patterns, her pace and her power.

She opens up about the emotional rollercoaster that came with her late diagnosis and the importance of self-compassion, especially for women who have masked their symptoms for so long.

Key Takeaways:
  • ADHD is often misunderstood, especially in women - and often misdiagnosed or missed entirely.
  • A late diagnosis can bring up a mix of grief, relief and empowerment.
  • Rejection Sensitive Dysphoria (RSD) can shape how we show up in relationships and the world.
  • Time blindness isn’t laziness - it’s a real and common ADHD experience.
  • Self-compassion is not optional - it’s essential.
  • No two ADHD journeys look the same.
  • Understanding your ADHD is a game-changer for growth and healing.
  • Many women feel shame or judgment for how their ADHD shows up.
  • Community and open conversation are everything.
  • And yes - ADHD brains are beautifully creative, intuitive and full of possibility.

How Meditation & Quantum Regression Integration Therapy Heals Auto Immune Disease15 Apr 202500:57:43

Fiona is kindly offering a complimentary meditation and a set of healing tools to support your own journey.

Meditation: https://mailchi.mp/a8f6149bd8ba/complementary-meditation

Quantum Regression and Integration Therapy: https://mailchi.mp/27984331af78/bm6rduwaor

This conversation is a must-listen for anyone navigating chronic illness, emotional trauma or looking for hope and inspiration on their healing path.

In this deeply moving episode, I’m joined by Fiona, a woman who completely reversed all her MS symptoms after years of emotional trauma, workplace bullying, and even a suicide attempt. Her story is a testament to the body’s innate ability to heal — and the power we all hold within.

About Fiona

After gaining a first class honours degree in Life Sciences, Fiona worked in the food and environmental sciences industries as an analytical chemist. Following a diagnosis of Multiple Sclerosis in 1997 she found it difficult to remain in the laboratory due to increasing bullying.

Qualifying in Environmental Health and Safety, Fiona entered a new phase of her career, but found that bullying in the workplace did not go away and the concomitant stresses caused a worsening of her MS, eventually leading to the loss of two jobs on one day.

Fiona's health deteriorated after this, leading to her being virtually bedridden. However, Fiona did not give in. All this time the universe was telling Fiona she was doing the wrong thing but she didn't know that then. Initially looking for holistic solutions to help with her MS, she discovered so many healing modalities, and this led to Fiona training in a selection of complimentary therapies, from meditation, through hypnosis and NLP, to Quantum-Regression and Integration Therapy. Through these techniques Fiona regained her mobility, her strength and sense of purpose!

Fiona now works to help people over 50, particularly those who have been subject to workplace bullying, with her “Reclaim Your Power” process that transforms their mindset. She works by empowering people to be in control of their health and wellbeing. In addition to the “Reclaim Your Power” meditation, breathwork, journaling and sound healing work Fiona uses a mixture of modalities including Quantum Regression and Integration Therapy (Q-RIT) which uses a form of hypnosis. She also works instinctively by utilising her intuition about what would help the client most. Fiona is now a Master Practitioner and Trainer in Q-RIT.

The Healing Power of Sound: How Frequencies Are Fighting Disease at a Cellular Level

UPDATE: Molly would like to add two things she mentioned in the podcast: the human ear can hear between 20hz and 20,000hz

The book she mentioned is: Monolithic Undertow by Harry Sword

In this fascinating conversation, Molly shares her journey from a passionate young musician to a sound healing practitioner. She discusses the profound impact of sound on healing and well-being, explaining the science behind sound healing, the importance of relaxation, and the role of brainwave states in the healing process.

Molly also delves into this ancient practice, highlighting the significance of solfeggio frequencies and their therapeutic applications. In this conversation, Molly discusses the intricacies of sound therapy, the significance of various frequencies, and their historical context. She delves into the impact of harmful sounds like infrasound and EMF on our health, and how modern technology contributes to anxiety and dis-ease. The discussion also touches on the potential of sound healing in treating conditions like cancer, emphasising the importance of relaxation and harmony with nature.

About Molly:

Molly Anne Chinner is a British sound healer, devotional musician, vocalist and wild earth daughter.

Hailing from the enchanted landscapes of South West England, Molly’s music weaves threads of a dreamy, British folk sound with her work in ambient, healing, devotional and world music genres to offer a soulful and mystical listening journey as a celebration of sound as healing, and song as a guided remembering of the Earth and language of universal love.

Her signature sound weaves together cosmic melodies from distant galaxies and ancient songs from the heart of Gaia to channel her distinct and ethereal soundscapes - guiding the listener to remember our kinship to the Earth, and ancestry in the stars…

It's not about the law of attraction that says you need to attract something that's over there that you don't have because that's coming from a place of lack.

You need to learn how to receive. - it's the law of reception.

This isn’t about working harder.

It’s about changing your frequency.

It’s about learning how to open your field, follow the breadcrumbs and dance with the divine timing of your life.

You’ve been taught to hustle. To prove. To earn it.

Resilience and Redemption: Rachel’s Incredible Story of Overcoming Trauma

What does it take to rise from the ashes of trauma and reclaim your life?

In this episode, I speak with the incredible Rachel Elimelech - a woman whose story has never been shared publicly… until now.

✨ A young single mum - twice over

✨ A woman who put herself through university to become a qualified solicitor

✨ A mother who trusted her gut, uncovered the unimaginable, and fought for justice

✨ A survivor of life-shattering pain who refused to stay silent any longer

For 18 years, Rachel carried the weight of unspoken emotions. Now, she’s telling her truth - not for sympathy, but to give hope to anyone who has felt broken, silenced, or stuck in survival mode.

Her story is raw, powerful, and proof that even in the darkest moments, we can rise.

🕊️ This one’s for the mothers, the fighters, the survivors - and anyone who needs to believe that healing is possible.

Meeting Mel Robbins, Manifestation and the Magic of Aligned Action10 Jun 202500:23:16

I’m sharing something magical that happened this week: I met Mel Robbins. Yes, the Mel Robbins! But more than just a fangirl moment, this episode is a real-time reflection on how manifestation, intention setting, breathwork and showing up even when it’s messy have shaped this year already.

Back in January, I was deep in the darkness of British winter, preparing to launch this podcast. With help from a few key practices – like the Year of Miracles with Marci Shimoff and daily breathwork with Stuart Sandeman on the Breathpod app – I created a new kind of routine... and honestly, it’s changed everything.

In this episode, I share:

  • The exact steps I took in January to set powerful intentions for 2025
  • How I used visualisation and breathwork to supercharge my podcast launch
  • The story behind buying a VIP ticket to meet Mel Robbins
  • Why meeting Mel Robbins felt like a full-circle moment
  • The science-meets-soul reason I believe this stuff actually works

This isn’t just about Mel Robbins – it’s about proving to yourself that your dreams, however big or small, are possible. I hope this reminds you that anything is possible.

.

Manifestation, Mel Robbins, Breathwork, Intention Setting, Podcast Launch, Visualization, Personal Growth, Year of Miracles, Cathy Heller, Atomic Habits, Midlife Reinvention, ADHD Awareness, Healing Journey

See the moment!

I posted the photos of me with Mel Robbins on Instagram – have a look and let me know what dreams you’re calling in: @cancercuredme

In this episode, La is talking with the incredible Bella Chater - an EFT (Emotional Freedom Technique) and Matrix Reimprinting Practitioner specialising in emotional resilience, subconscious reprogramming and somatic healing.

Tracy Hill is a certified Human Design guide and the creator of A Beautiful Fix, a podcast and platform that helps women stop chasing answers outside themselves and start trusting the ones within.

Before this work, Tracy spent years climbing the corporate ladder, checking all the boxes, and doing everything “right”—until she realized she didn’t recognize her own life anymore. Burned out and disconnected, she chose to step away and figure out how to feel alive again. That decision changed everything.

Now, through Human Design, retreats, and soul-rooted storytelling, she guides women to understand how they’re uniquely wired—so they can quiet the noise, live in alignment, and remember who they were before the world told them who to be.

Meeting Chris Martin and the Power of Coldplay's 'Fix You'09 Sep 202500:15:58

“Fix You in Real Life: Meeting Chris Martin & A Story of Healing”

What happens when music, manifestation and a little bit of magic all collide?

In this special episode, I share two unforgettable stories:

  • My once-in-a-lifetime meeting with Chris Martin from Coldplay (yes, it really happened – twinkly blue eyes and all).
  • The beautiful journey of my podcast launch competition winners, who received two tickets to see Coldplay live. After surviving an illness that nearly tore their young family apart, Fix You became their mantra – and their prize felt like it was written in the stars.

This episode is a celebration of music, resilience, and the way life sometimes weaves things together in the most incredible ways. Whether you’re a lifelong Coldplay fan or simply someone who needs a reminder of hope, this story will melt your heart.

Come for the Chris Martin story, stay for the inspiration.

The Simple Grounding Technique To Help When Life Feels Too Much - Mini Series 1 of 405 Aug 202500:12:10

FREE GUIDE TO ACCOMPANY THIS EPISODE - DOWNLOAD HERE!

I’ve created something special to support you if anything I discuss in this episode feels familiar – it’s called: "Why You Feel Lost Even When Your Life Looks Good on the Outside"

It’s a gentle reflection guide with simple practices to help you feel more like you again.

(Jump to 6 minutes if you just want to join for the full guided practice with me)

healing, manifesting, self-discovery, midlife, anxiety, grounding practices, self-care, personal growth, emotional well-being, mindfulness

In this first of 4 shorter summer episodes, I’m sharing something that’s come up a lot in conversations and messages from many of you – that feeling of being a bit lost, disconnected or just done with the pace and pressure of life.

If you're a midlife woman, possibly in peri or post menopause , or you're noticing emotional ups and downs that seem to come from nowhere, you’re not alone. I’ve been there too – wondering “Is this it?”, and feeling like I’d lost sight of who I really am underneath the roles I’ve been playing for years.

This episode is all about making space for yourself, even if just for a few minutes. I guide you through a simple grounding practice that helps me when I’m feeling overwhelmed, reactive or just not quite in my body. It’s something you can do anywhere, and it doesn’t take long – but it can really shift how you feel and calm your nervous system.

Whether you're someone who struggles with anxiety, overstimulation, overwhelm, emotional eating or just needs a pause in the day, this might be something worth trying, if it feels right for you.

In this episode, I talk about:

  • Why so many of us in midlife are asking, “Is this really it?”
  • The nervous system’s response to modern life and why it feels like too much
  • How hormonal changes can leave us emotionally all over the place
  • Why feeling “off” doesn’t mean something’s wrong – it might just mean you’re ready for something new
  • A short, guided grounding practice using your breath and body awareness
  • How to come back to yourself – one small pause at a time

This one’s for you if:

  • You often feel anxious, overwhelmed or overstimulated
  • You’re in midlife and feeling a bit disconnected from your purpose
  • You’ve been identifying as a mum, a partner, a career woman – and wondering who you are underneath it all
  • You want a simple tool to help regulate your nervous system
  • You’re ready to slow down and listen to what your body actually needs

PLEASE SHARE WITH ANYONE YOU THINK MAY NEED TO HEAR THIS TOO!

How to Set Boundaries and Overcome People Pleasing29 Jul 202500:57:17

In this important gem of an episode, I delve into the complexities of people pleasing and the importance of setting boundaries with psychotherapist and boundaries expert Elsie Owen. We explore how people pleasing often stems from a desire for emotional safety and the impact of childhood experiences on these behaviours. Our discussion highlights the necessity of self-regulation and the strategies for establishing healthy boundaries in relationships. Elsie shares insights from her course, emphasising the importance of pausing and reflecting before responding to social pressures, ultimately guiding listeners towards a more authentic and balanced way of living. We even answer the important question: "how can I have boundaries and not upset people?"

Key takeaways:

  • People pleasing is often about regulating our own discomfort rather than genuinely caring for others.
  • Setting boundaries is crucial for emotional safety and self-regulation.
  • Identifying whether actions stem from kindness or obligation is key to overcoming people pleasing.
  • Childhood experiences significantly shape our people pleasing behaviours.
  • Emotional safety is about feeling okay in social situations, not just physical safety.
  • Learning to pause before responding can help in setting boundaries.
  • It's important to recognise that we cannot control how others feel or react.
  • Creating secret boundaries can help ease the transition into more assertive communication.
  • Self-regulation is essential for maintaining healthy relationships and boundaries.
  • The journey of unlearning people pleasing behaviours is possible and empowering.

Summary

In this episode, I continue the theme of self-belief, emphasising its importance in personal growth as well as parenting. I discuss how limiting beliefs can affect individuals, particularly in midlife, and the need to shift these beliefs to foster a more positive mindset. I also highlight the role of parents in instilling self-belief in their children, sharing insights from my own experiences and observations of 2 incredible young actors (one of whom is the new Harry Potter!) from the film 'Grow' who embody confidence and joy in their pursuits. I urge parents to encourage their children to embrace self-expression and resilience, drawing inspiration from role models like Taylor Swift.

How Self-Belief Turned My Cancer Story Into a National Headline21 Oct 202500:09:26

When a national newspaper shared my story with the headline “Breast Cancer Cured Me of a Toxic Lifestyle,” it became a powerful reminder of how self-belief and trust in the universe can transform your life. This uplifting solo episode is all about courage, synchronicity and owning your story.

In this short and heartfelt solo episode of Cancer Cured Me, I share a deeply personal milestone — my story being featured as a full-page article in a national newspaper with the headline “Breast Cancer Cured Me of a Toxic Lifestyle.”

  • How a moment of self-doubt (“Who am I to do this?”) turned into national recognition
  • Why trusting in divine timing can lead to beautiful synchronicities
  • The importance of sharing your story — no matter how small it feels
  • A sneak peek into upcoming episodes with Dr. Sam Watts (Ayurvedic medicine for cancer prevention) and Georgie Shears, a nervous system specialist

If you’ve ever questioned whether your story matters, or whether it’s too late to start something new, this episode will remind you that your voice can inspire more people than you realise.

A Simple Tool to Reset Your Nervous System This Christmas17 Dec 202500:20:20

If the festive season feels busy, intense, or a little overwhelming, this short final episode in our Calm Christmas mini-series, is a gift to your nervous system.

In this guided mini practice, Alex is joined again by nervous system strategist Georgie Shears, who shares one of her most accessible and powerful regulation tools a simple ear massage technique known as “thinking caps”.

This is a practice you can do anywhere, anytime at your desk, in the car, between meetings, or in the middle of Christmas chaos. And the magic? You’ll feel the shift in real time.

In just a few minutes, Georgie gently guides you through:

  • How to check your baseline nervous system state
  • Why busy periods naturally push us into fight or flight
  • How stimulating the vagus nerve sends immediate signals of safety to the body
  • Why small shifts — even 1% — matter deeply for long-term change

This practice helps your body move out of survival mode and back toward regulation, allowing you to enjoy the season rather than just get through it.

✨ You don’t need to fix yourself.

✨ Your body already knows how to settle.

✨ Sometimes it just needs a gentle cue of safety.

How to Avoid Holiday Hangovers and Hormone Chaos with Nutritionist Hannah Alderson10 Dec 202500:08:04

This week I’m joined for the second in our Calm Christmas mini series by nutritionist and hormone expert Hannah Alderson. We’re talking about one thing many of us feel at this time of year, the impact of festive food, alcohol and late nights on our hormones and energy.

If you’re feeling stretched, stressed, tired, hungover or just a bit overdone by the sparkly social calendar, you are not alone. This episode is packed with simple hormone-friendly Christmas tips that don’t involve restriction, guilt or saying no to the fun bits. No perfection, no “clean eating”, no punishing yourself for loving a Lindor ball. Just gentle support for your body when life gets busy.

In this episode with Hannah Alderson, we explore:
  • Why Christmas chaos can send our hormones and nervous system into meltdown
  • How alcohol affects hormone detoxification (and how to soften the blow)
  • Simple ways to support the liver without giving up cocktails, champagne or dessert
  • Why B vitamins and electrolytes might be your secret festive helpers
  • The power of fibre and cruciferous veg for hormone balance
  • How to avoid sugar spikes – while still enjoying the good stuff
  • What to eat before going out so you don’t wake up regretting everything
  • Why guilt and shame are worse for hormones than mince pies

Key Takeaways:
  • Christmas technically lasts 2 to 3 days… not 6 weeks. We don’t need to be “on a health kick” the whole time.
  • Look after your liver on your quieter days, especially if you’re drinking or sleeping less.
  • Enjoy your nights out guilt-free – connection boosts oxytocin and wellbeing.
  • Eat before you drink and add cruciferous veg (like Brussels sprouts, cabbage, broccoli) and flax seeds into your week.
  • Hydrate like your hormones depend on it… because they do.
  • If you’re eating the chocolates, have them after a meal, not on an empty stomach.
  • Skip the shame: stress and cortisol do far more damage than dessert ever could.

Foods & Supplements Mentioned:

(Always check what’s right for you, especially if you’re on medication.)

  • Cruciferous veg: broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cauliflower, cabbage
  • Flax seeds
  • Milk thistle (tincture or supplement)
  • B Vitamin complex (in the morning, after food)
  • Electrolytes (higher quality options, not just the fizzy high-street ones)

The Big Message

Enjoy the party. Eat the meal. Dance in your sparkly shoes.

Look after your liver on the quieter days, stay hydrated, and skip the guilt.

Joy, laughter and connection are some of the best medicines we’ve got.

If you loved this mini episode…

You’ll want to follow Hannah for more practical, no-nonsense hormone guidance:
