In this offbeat Monday episode, the hosts Drs. May and Tim dive into everything from the bizarre rise of cat memes sparked by Trump’s wild debate claims to a jaw-dropping medical mishap in Florida where a doctor removed a liver instead of a spleen. They rant about media bias, poke fun at political rhetoric, and even tackle the absurdity of nuclear war threats. Along the way, they sprinkle in hilarious moments, from voodoo rituals in Queens to a Florida alligator problem, all while keeping things light with sharp wit and unpredictable stories. This isn’t your typical news recap—it’s chaotic, funny, and totally unscripted.

#190: De-Adrenalizing and Understanding Trauma with Dr. David Bonanno26 Oct 202301:17:56

This episode is sponsored by PearsonRavitz– an agency dedicated to supporting physicians on their journey to getting the right insurance.

Our next guest is a Connecticut psychologist and PTSD survivor, Dr. David Bonanno, who has developed a groundbreaking therapy for trauma psychology that challenges conventional methods used in allopathic medicine.

This episode revolves around the potential impact of redefining and destigmatizing conditions like "being adrenalized" compared to traditional PTSD.

The main question is how this change might influence individuals in seeking help and treatment for their symptoms. This suggests that a shift in terminology and perception could encourage more people to acknowledge their symptoms and seek assistance without the fear of judgment or reluctance commonly associated with the term PTSD.

Looking for something specific? Here you go

00:03:00 PTSD and chronic stress similarities.

00:08:01 Adrenaline can be pathological.

00:14:09 Trauma therapy can help heal.

00:21:05 PTSD is different from anxiety.

00:21:34 PTSD is not easily overcome.

00:28:56 Unplugging and social connection are important for mental health.

00:32:46 Social connection is crucial.

00:39:33 Rewriting trauma can heal.

00:44:56 Rapid healing through subconscious work.

00:51:54. Changing the narrative heals trauma.

00:56:38 Cat brain controls human behavior.

01:01:30 Cannabis can help with PTSD.

01:03:45 Cannabis strains can target specific symptoms.

01:08:55 Understanding limits helps with PTSD.

Bio:

Dr. Bonanno is the Freshest, Boldest Voice in Trauma Psychology today. And he has developed a dynamite therapy that is better than all the rest. Almost everyone who promises a way to get past your past has a method that involves time, money, work, and pain and everything else thrown against the wall as a “cure” for life’s hardships. PTSD has been the biggest topic in Psychology for 10+ years now. Because that’s what therapists still cannot heal. David Bonanno is a Connecticut psychologist and PTSD survivor who has been helping people since 1993. He is the first person in America to begin to qualify patients for Medical Marijuana by evaluating them for PTSD.

His company, Bonanno Mental Healthcare, has assisted over 16,000 needy people in gaining access to medicine that is much better than pharmaceuticals. Dr. Bonanno is the inventor of De-Adrenalizing, a revolutionary and rapidly-growing therapy that heals sufferers of all psychological traumas, and the author of Your Brain is a Robocat: How to Finally Understand Your Trauma Response. This book is easy to read but will transform the reader’s conceptualization of how the human brain functions before and after trauma. When people are finally able to understand themselves, they no longer have to blame and hate themselves.

#184: Inside the World of Primary Care - an interview of us by Parker Condit12 Oct 202301:10:35

This episode is sponsored by PearsonRavitz– a friend and advocate for physicians with their insurance needs.

This episode is an interview conducted by Parker Condit, CEO and Co-Founder of Moto Bio – a platform helping its members live healthy lives and make smarter decisions for themselves.

We get to talk about being a couple who are both family practice physicians and discuss our transition from primary care to urgent care and the frustrations we experienced in the healthcare system. We talk about the increased focus on box ticking and metrics in the EMR, which led to a decline in patient care, including the lack of understanding from insurance companies and the implementation of laws by non-doctors. Additionally, we touch on the benefits of direct primary care and the importance of preventative care.

Looking for something specific? Here you go!

00:02:02 Transition from primary care to urgent care due to frustrations with healthcare system.

00:08:19 Healthcare system is flawed.

00:45:32 Direct primary care reduces patient load.

00:48:29 Interoperability and EMR challenges.

00:57:17 Leverage telehealth for coordination.

00:58:11 Leveraging knowledge through patient networking.

01:06:31 Leverage resources for better health.

About Parker Condit:

Parker Condit is CEO and co-founder of Modo Bio and is obsessed with increasing access to holistic, patient-centered healthcare. And that’s putting it lightly.

His interest in health and wellness began in early adulthood when he began a career in personal training. During this time, he successfully helped professional athletes optimize their performance, and non-professionals improve their overall physical health. In conversation with his clients, he realized how siloed traditional medical practitioners were from providers in the mental health, fitness, and integrative medicine spaces; spaces that can help physicians prevent disease in their patients, not just treat it. He, along with his business partner Jack, decided to find a solution to this problem and Modo Bio was born.

Since mid-2022, Parker has led Modo Bio’s transformation from a brick-and-mortar integrative health clinic into the dynamic remote patient monitoring digital platform it is today. He is responsible for overseeing all areas of Modo Bio’s business operations in addition to fundraising and building meaningful partnerships with physicians, health systems, and stakeholders.

Parker currently lives in Arizona where he spends his free time running and spending time with his dog Max, his best friend and the unofficial mascot of Modo Bio.
