#80 Catherine Fox - Men are from Earth, Women are from Earth. Deal with it.
Épisode 80
vendredi 18 novembre 2022 • Durée 48:43
Catherine Fox is an innate Optimist who thinks we can change. In her own words she is at a stage in life where she can say and do things that women in mid-career can’t. She makes no bones that we are far from an equal playing field. Join Catherine and I as we discuss the why that drives her, the hypocrisy that drives women into the ground, tokenism and how to get beyond box ticking. Catherine shares that in her experience the male leaders who really listen to the females in their organisation are often utterly shocked at their experience of working in the same organisation. Stop Fixing Women is one of five books that Catherine has authored. With three decades as a journalist and advocate, Catherine is one of Australia’s leading experts on leadership, the future of workplaces and the status of women. Her career has included interviewing management gurus, Nobel Prize winners and international CEOs. She has written five books, won a Walkley Award, presented at conferences and appeared in the media around Australia and internationally. I consider myself incredibly lucky to have had this conversation.

#79 Peter Tonagh - We wanted to stand out for being employers of female engineers
Épisode 79
vendredi 11 novembre 2022 • Durée 49:58
Sometimes it is as easy as making the decision. Peter Tonagh shares a story of a startup CEO who opted to keep roles vacant until he found the right female to keep their team balanced. This was just the beginning. Join Peter and I as we discuss dreams of being a fighter pilot, his five basic leadership principles, the challenge of providing tough feedback and why he doesn't believe you should mentor males and females the same way. He was formerly Chief Executive Officer of Foxtel, NewsCorp and REA and Partner of The Boston Consulting Group. Today Peter is a non-executive Chairman of ASX-listed companies, Deputy Chairman of the ABC and Chairman of Bus Stop Films - a not for profit organisation supporting inclusion in the film and television industry. Peter is a terrific supporter of female talent and I thoroughly enjoyed this thoughtful conversation.

#77 Elizabeth Broderick, AO - It takes courage to step up into these roles
Épisode 77
vendredi 28 octobre 2022 • Durée 49:08
One of the hallmarks of the leaders I spend time with, leaders who are driving real change, is incredible generosity. Liz Broderick stands out. Liz puts herself at considerable risk as a Special Rapporteur and Independent Expert of the United Nations Working Group on Discrimination against Women and Girls. Together we discuss that courage is a muscle, that shining a spotlight on problems is one of the steps to finding a solution and the truly fearful moments where Liz has asked herself if she is happy to continue. Liz almost needs no introduction for anyone in the Australian corporate landscape. She was Australia’s longest standing Sex Discrimination Commissioner (2007 - 2015) and has been instrumental in the development and implementation of a gender equality blueprint for Australia. She is the Founder and Convenor of the Champions of Change Coalition (formerly Male Champions of Change) a globally recognised, disruptive strategy for achieving gender equality. Liz is a Board member of the International Service for Human Rights and a member of the Global Institute for Women’s Leadership Advisory Council, Kings College London. Humble and passionate with a wonderful sense of compassion. Make time to deeply absorb her words.
