After losing the third and final game of their three game series with the Texas Rangers, the Boston Red Sox head home to take on the Orioles. 

The Boston Red Sox dropped their series finale against the Rays yesterday by a score of seven to four.

The Boston Red Sox lost 6 to 5 yesterday to the Minnesota Twins.

Eduardo Rodriguez gives up 6 runs in less than 4 innings, helping drop the Red Sox to 2-6 on the season.

The Boston Red Sox are making a few adjustments to their lineup after being shut out by the Oakland A's last night. Highlighting the changes, Andrew Benintendi will move to the leadoff spot, with Mookie Betts hitting second. 

Some good news for Sox fans, Alex Cora announced earlier today World Series MVP Steve Pearce is expected to be activated off the injured list tomorrow and will be available to the team right away.

Though the pitching woes continued for the Red Sox, it was the offense that couldn't get it together last night, combining for a lackluster four total hits in the 7-0 shutout loss.

Chris Sale will look to redeem himself this evening after a shaky Opening Day Start.

Five months after claiming their ninth World Series Title, the Red Sox surrendered 12 runs to the Seattle Mariners in a blowout loss. Now, Boston own a new title: Most Runs Given Up by the Defending Champs on Opening Day. The upside is that it's only day one. 

Chris Sale and the Red Sox get set to kick off the 2019 season as they head north to Seattle Washington to face off with the Seattle Mariners. 

Sale is taking the mound just days after inking his new extension with Boston which keeps him in with his current ballclub an extra five seasons to a tune of $145 million. 

It's a brand new season of Boston baseball so let's get ready for a long season that will surely be filled with numerous questions.

While the New York Yankees were busy trading top rated prospect Justus Sheffield for James Paxton, and the Tampa Bay Rays were occupied inking a deal with 2018 All-Star Charlie Morton, the Boston Red Sox stayed quiet during this year's winter meetings.  General Manager Dave Dombrowski decided instead to let fireballers Joe Kelly and Craig Kimbrel enter free agency, and hear offers for starting pitcher Rick Porcello. 

It's Official. Nathan Eovaldi will be returing to the Red Sox. According to the Athletic and Mark Feinsand the deal is four years and 67.5 million. After being acquired from the Tampa Bay Rays on July 25, Eovaldi went 3-3 with a 3.33 ERA in 11 starts and one long-relief appearance.

The Boston Red Sox, just a week after winning the World Series, had the most players in the American League named as Rawlings Gold Glove winners, with right fielder Mookie Betts, center fielder Jackie Bradley Jr. and second baseman Ian Kinsler receiving honors Sunday night. Betts won the award for the third straight year while leading all major league right fielders with 20 defensive runs saved. Bradley won for the first time, and Kinsler acquired from the Los Angeles Angels at the trade deadline took home his second award. On Saturday, Alex Cora, carrying the World Series trophy with him, arrived in his hometown of Caguas Puerto Rico, joined by Red Sox players. The manager got a hero's welcome, starting with a greeting by Puerto Rico Governor Ricardo Rosselló at the airport. Cora was joined by Price, Eduardo Rodriguez and Christian Vazquez, among others. It was a day of joy, pride and celebration for the island of Puerto Rico, a day that simultaneously inspired dreams while proving that the island, even damaged, was on the rebound from the impact of Hurricane Maria.

Yesterday the Sox had an off day after sweeping a two-game set with the Colorado Rockies. Tonight, they battle Mike Trout and the Angels.

This year’s parade route will begin at Fenway Park, then head down Lansdowne Street, take a right on Ipswich Street, and then a left on Boylston Street to Tremont Street. The parade then will head straight onto Cambridge Street and finish at New Sudbury Street. Right before the parade started Red Sox fans got some great news as David Price said he wont be going anywhere and will opt in to stay with Red Sox. In other Red Sox news Chris Sales 15 million dollar option has been picked up and so has Eduardo Nunez’s 5 million dollar option. Sale went 12-4 with a 2.11 ERA and 237 strikeouts in 27 regular-season starts in his second season in Boston. He was among the favorites to win the Cy Young this season before he dealt with shoulder issues in the season's second half. Nunez hit .265 with 10 homers and 44 RBIs in 502 plate appearances. He played second base and third base.

We now know what time the city of Boston will be holding their World Series parade for the Boston Red Sox. The duck boats will begin rolling through the city at 11AM and it'll be rain or shine.  Some Red Sox offseason rumors have already begun as infielder Eduardo Nunez has made it known that he plans to pick up his option and stay with Boston. And David Price's revenge tour is already picking up steam. 

The Boston Red Sox are the 2018 World Series champions. Last night in game 5 of the world series the Red Sox defeated the Los Angeles Dodgers 5-1 to win the seires 4-1. After a franchise record 108 regular season wins, the Red Sox went on to dispatch the Yankees, the defending champion Astros, and finally the Dodgers tallying a total postseason record of 11-3. The World Series MVP was Steve Pearce. Pearce a June aquisition from Toronto, had 3 homers and seven RBI in the final two games. Another accolade was Alex Cora who became the first manager from Puerto Rico to win a title and just the fifth rookie skipper overall. Boston outscored the Dodgers 28-16 and had a better batting average of .222 compared to .180 The Red Sox now have tied the Athletics for most world series championships with 9 behind the Yankees and Cardinals. Pearce hit a twon run homer on Kershaw’s sixth pitch. Solo homers by Mookie Betts in the sixth inning and JD Martinez in the seventh quieted the LA crowd. Pearce added a solo drive of Baez in tne 8th to end the Dodgers season.

David Price earns his second postseason career win as he looks relatively dominant against the Los Angeles Dodgers in game two of the World Series.  After the offense helped push the Red Sox to a strong game one victory, game two saw a little bit of a different story as their starting and relief pitching made the difference. And once again, it was clutch two-out hitting that put runs on the board for Boston. 

Far from the pitching duel that baseball analysts expected, the Boston Red Sox powered their way to an 8-4 game one World Series win over the Los Angeles Dodgers.  Andrew Benintendi solidified himself in franchise history, becoming only the third Red Sox player ever to have four hits in a World Series contest, while Eduardo Nunez blasted the first World Series pinch hit home run since 2009.  Boston looks to continue the momentum heading into game two with David Price on the mound. Los Angeles counters with Hyun-Jin Ryu.   

Chris Sale looks to be healthy enough to start game one of the World Series against the Los Angeles Dodgers.  After defeating the Houston Astros in five games, the Red Sox look to head back to the World Series to take on a team who they have very little experience with. The Dodgers will be sending their ace, Clayton Kershaw to the hill to try and tame this ferocious Red Sox lineup. 

Behind an amazing David Price performance the Red Sox eliminated the defending champion Houston Astros 4-1 to advance to the world series. For the first time since 2013 the Red Sox are going to the world series and now await the winner of the Dodgers and Brewers. Price finished with nine strikeouts and no walks. He entered the game with a 6.16 ERA in the postseason as a starter, the third-worst ERA for anyone with at least 10 playoff starts. The key to Price’s success last night was his changeup. He threw it 39 times out of 93 pitches. On those changeups he forced 12 swing and misses. It was a different story for Astros ace Justin Verlander who entered the game with a streak of 24 consecutive scorless innings in postseasn eliminations games. This streak was ended when JD Martinez crushed a home run over the Crawford boxes and off the ConocoPhillips sign in left field in the third inning. On the pitch prior to the home run it looked like a strikeout but the umpire missed it and the Red Sox caught a break. Three innings later, Rafael Devers put the nail in the coffin as he hit a three run home run off Verlander. Devers home run wouldnt have been a home run in any other park.

In a wild game that took 4 hours and 33 minutes the Red Sox improved to 4-0 on the road in the playoffs and are just one win away from knocking off the world series champions. The Red Sox have outscored  opponents 36-12 on the road this postseason. The Red Sox got things rolling early in the first with a Devers two RBI single giving the Red Sox a 2-0 lead for a third straight game. The Astros immediatley answered back in the bottom of the first with what looked like a two run home run into right by Jose Altuve. However after review it was determined that Mookie Betts had his glove interfered with by a fan and Altuve was ruled out. From there it was a back and forth affair with the Red Sox finding most of their success with two outs. Red Sox starter Rick Porcello allowed seven hits and four runs over four innings. Houston starter Charlie Morton gave up three hits, three runs, and two walks in just 2 ⅓ innings.

Nathan Eovaldi continued right where he left off in game three of the ALDS, throwing six frames of two run baseball against the former World Series Champs. Matched with a five run offensive outburst in the eighth, the Red Sox took home an 8-2 victory and now find themselves up two games to one in the ALCS.  Rick Porcello will take the mound for Boston in game four. Charlie Morton gets the start for Houston. First pitch is scheduled for 8:39. 

Nathan Eovaldi and the Red Sox prepare for game three against the Houston Astros in Houston as the series sits tied at one and one.  After a strong offensive showing in game two, the Sox look to keep that same stride as one would have to against the horse of a Houston Astros lineup.  Nathan Eovaldi is coming off of the best start by any of the Red Sox starters, but can he do it against Houston on their home turf?

The Red Sox were able to complete the sweep of the Rockies, pick up a game on both the Rays and the Athletics, and saw their two young stars go off for six hits and three homers combined.

Game 1of the ALCS is saturday night and is scheduled to start at 8:09 p.m. On the mound for the Red Sox is Chris Sale and he faces off against Houston’s ace Justin Verlander. There were a lot of questions surrounding Chris Sale and his health entering the playoffs, but he dispelled questions by tossing tossing 5 ⅓ innings in game one of the ALDS allowing two runs on 5 hits. Sale also pitched a 1-2-3 8th inning during Boston’s series-clinching Game 4 win at Yankee Stadium As for the Astros pitching Houston allowed just 3.3 runs per game, the fewest and baseball. Justin Verlander is on the mound and he faced the Red Sox last season in the ALDS. Verlander went 8 ⅔ innings giving up 3 runs. In game one of the ALDS against the Indians Verlander took a no-hitter into the sixth inning. He allowed two hits and two runs in 5 1/3 innings.

Rick Porcello lasted five full innings in a strong outing on Tuesday night as the Red Sox took home the third and final win of the ALDS. Craig Kimbrel did not make things easy in the ninth inning but the Red Sox early offensive showing was enough for the 4-3 win over the New York Yankees. 

The Red Sox absolutely laid a beatdown on the Yankees in New York last night for game three of the ALDS.   On the backs of a stellar pitching performance by Nathan Eovaldi and the first cycle ever in the MLB postseason by Brock Holt, the Sox hung 16 on the scoreboard to New York's one.  The teams get set for game 4 as the Sox look to put the final nail in the Yanks coffin. 

For the first time since 2004, the Boston Red Sox and New York Yankees are playoff opponents. Game one of the American League Division Series on Friday night went to the Red Sox. Solid pitching performances, matched with J.D. Martinez's first inning home run propelled Boston to a 5-4 victory.    David Price's playoff woes continued in game two as the starting lefty suffered three runs on three hits in less than two innings. Gary Sanchez went yard twice for the Yankees, driving in 4 runs and the Red Sox fell 6-2.  Game three in New York premieres at 7:40 tonight. 

The Yankees did not just win in the AL wildcard game they made a statement. Aaron Judge in the first inning hit an absolute bomb of a home run hit 116 mph giving the Yankees a 2-0 lead. Luis Severino conquerd his wild card demons after his performance last season combining with betances for 10 strikeouts and just two hits through the first six innings. The Yankees offense came alive in the sixth with a four run inning, with the icing on the cake being a Giancarlo Stanton 443 foot moonshot. If you dont think this is a statement win, the home runs from Judge and Stanton were the hardest hit home runs in the postseason since statcast began tracking them in 2015. J.A. Happ is slated to start game one of the ALDS. Happ has been one of the Yankees best pitchers of late going 7-0 in the 11 starts he made since being traded from Toronto in July. Happ went 1-1 with a 1.99 ERA in four starts against Boston this season.  Chris Sale is on the mound for the Red Sox. Sale has thrown just 17 innings since July 27th because of a shoulder inflamation. Sale beat the Yankees twice this season allowing just one run and striking out 19 in 13 innings but both meeting came before July.

The Boston Red Sox now know their ALDS opponent, as they will face their biggest rivals - the New York Yankees - starting on Friday night at Fenway Park.  The Yankees dispatched the A's 7-2 in the one-game Wild Card, setting up the first ever meeting between the AL East rivals in the divisional round of the playoffs.  Chris Sale will likely face J.A. Happ in Game 1, with David Price, Rick Porcello, and Nathan Eovaldi likely starting Games 2-4.

The Athletics are the feel good story of the MLB playoffs this year being the first team in 30 years to make the playoffs with the leagues' lowest opening day payroll. Meanwhile the Yankees finished the season with the third most wins in baseball and have a 166 million dollar payroll compared to the 60 milllion of the Athletics. For the second straight year Luis Severino will be on the mound in the wildcard game for the Yankees, while the Athletics are taking a page out of the Tampa Bay Rays playbook and using Liam Hendriks as an opener. What will decide tonights game is the pitching. The Yankees starting pitchers were 65-42 with a 4.05 ERA, and the Athletics Pitchers were 52-48 with a 4.17 ERA. The key player for the Athletics will be closer Blake Treinen who was 9-2 with 38 saves and an 0.78 ERA this season. Whatever the result expect a fantatsic game considering these two split their regular season meetings 3-3.

J.D. Martinez knocked his 43rd home run out of Fenway Park on Sunday afternoon, solidifying his place as the RBI king, while Mookie Betts collected his own hardware, taking home the America League batting title in the Red Sox 10-2 route of the New York Yankees.  Boston finished the regular season 108-54, a franchise record, and now turn their eyes to the one game wildcard matchup to see who they will play in game one of the ALDS on Friday. 

The Red Sox look to wrap up the regular season this week as they welcome the second place Yankees into Fenway Park for game one of the final three-game set.  The Red Sox have nothing left to play for other than padding stats, but the Yankees continue to fight for home-field advantage over the Oakland A's for next week's Wild Card matchup. The Yankees currently have a two-game advantage over Oakland. 

The Red Sox won in convincing fashion in game one of the doubleheader Wednesday defeating the Orioles 19-3. The Red Sox had fiver homers and nine doubles and matched their biggest runs total of the season. The 14 extra-base hits were the most in the majors this year and the most for Boston since 1950. David Price had a rough start to the game, but settled down in his final tuneup game before the playoffs. Price allowed three runs all in the second inning, six hits and three walks, striking out six before leaving with a 10-3 lead after five. Rafael Devers had four hits and six RBI, including two homers, and Mookie Betts had two hits to raise his major league-best batting average to .346. Betts also stole a base, making him the second player in Red Sox history with at least 30 homers and 30 stolen bases in a season. Game 2 of the doubleheader went to the Orioles in a 10-3 victory over the Red Sox. In Sale’s final tuneup game he struck out eight over 4 ⅔ innings. Sale left after giving up Adam Jones’ go-ahead, RBI double that made it 3-2 in the fifth. Sale threw 92 pitches allowing 3 runs and 4 hits.

The Boston Red Sox defeated the Colorado Rockies yesterday 10 to 6.

The Red Sox and Orioles game was postponed last night so there will be a doubleheader today. The first game is scheduled for a 1:05 p.m. start and the second game is slated to start at 7:10 p.m. David Price is set to the start the first game for the Red Sox and Chris Sale the second game. The Red Sox have already clinched the AL East and home-field advantage throughout the postseason. Baltimore on the other hand with a 45-111 record has tied the franchise record for losses set by the 1939 St. Louis Browns. Dave Dave Dombrowski has come out and said Chris Sale will start game one of the ALDS for the Red Sox. Having pitched only 12.1 innings since mid-August due to injury, Sale makes his final start of the season tonight.

With a 6-2 victory over the Baltimore Orioles last night, the Boston Red Sox collected their 106th win on the season, eclipsing the former franchise win record and sealing the number one spot in the American League.  Tonight, David Price will look to bounce back from last week's rough outing against the New York Yankees and make it extend the new record to 107. 

The Boston Red Sox were denied home field advantage and the franchise win record in consecutive nights due to back to back walkoff wins from the Cleveland Indians.  It's back to Fenway for the AL East champions as they look to wrap up the final six games of the season on a a high note.  

The Red Sox won their third consecutive AL East championship last night in New York with an 11-6 victory over the Yankees. The Red Sox may have lost the 3 game series, but there is no sweeter feeling than clinching the division in your division rivals' house. Mookie Betts hit his 30th home run off Aroldis Chapman in the 8th securing the Red Sox victory. Betts finished the game with four hits and five RBIs.  Mashahiro Tanaka went 4 innings allowing 5 runs on 8 hits. For the Red Sox Eduardo Rodriguez went 3 2/3 innings allowing 5 runs on 4 hits and he walked 7. The Yankees and Red Sox may see eachother again in the postseason as a wildcard victory for the Yankees likley will lead to an ALDS matchup.

The champagne remains on ice as the Red Sox fail to clinch the AL East in the Bronx. David Price and the offense continue to struggle in New York. 

After a day off yesterday, the Red Sox send Nathan Eovaldi to the mound to open up a three-game set with the New York Yankees.  Boston enters today's matchup with an 11.5 game lead over New York and the magic number now sits at just two. The Sox are one win in the Bronx away from taking hold of the AL East crown for the third consecutive season. 

In a pitching duel that featured both league's probable Cy Young winners, the Red Sox found themselves on top 4-3 at the end. Chris Sale pitched a sharp three innings while his counterpart, Jacob DeGrom recorded 12 strikeouts.  Brock Holt and the Red Sox offense wouldn't let DeGrom escape so easily however, as they tagged the Mets ace for three runs, something that no team has been able to do since the trade deadline.  Heading into New York, the magic number now sits at two. 

The Red Sox scored the tiebreaking run on an eighth-inning error, completing a three-game sweep of the Blue Jays with a 4-3 victory. J.D. Martinez got things started in the bottom of the second with his 41st home run of the season giving the Red Sox a 1-0 lead. Martinez is now tied with Khris Davis for most home runs in the MLB. Devers also hit a solo homer with two outs in the sixth putting Boston up 3-1. After the Blue Jays rallied for two runs to tie it at 3 in the top of the eighth, Xander Bogaerts doubled in the bottom half and stole third. He came home when Toronto second baseman Yangervis Solarte dropped a popup in shallow right field giving the Red Sox a 4-3 lead. Brandon Workman faced one batter, ending Toronto's eighth-inning rally with just three pitches, and got the win. Craig Kimbrel earned his 40th save. Boston starter Eduardo Rodriguez struck out seven in six innings retiring the last nine batters he faced.

The Boston Red Sox became the first team to 100 wins on Wednesday night, needing just one run of offense to defeat the Toronto Blue Jays 1-0.  David Price earned his 15th win of the season with seven shutout innings, as he allowed just three hits to lower his second-half ERA to 1.56.  Rafael Devers scored in the fifth on a wild pitch, while Craig Kimbrel locked down the win for his 39th save of the year.

Last night, the Red Sox secured the first playoff spot in major league baseball with a 7-2 victory over the Blue Jays. Chris Sale made his awaited return with a scoreless first inning as Brock Holt came to the rescue in the bottom of the seventh with a three run, pinch hit blast.  Boston looks to reach the 100 win milestone tonight in game two of their three game set with Toronto. 

Six games out with 30 left to play. 
With half the games are against teams with a winning record, it’s playoff baseball for the Red Sox from here on out. 
The conversation might be getting stale at this point, but the wild card is still the sole focus in Boston.
Let’s take a look at the upcoming series with Colorado. Good news: the Rockies suck. What used to be a pennant contender is now a bottom feeder. Bad news: Rick Porcello gets the nod. At Coors Field. 
For those of you that are unfamiliar, Coors Field is in Denver, otherwise known as the Mile High City. Porcello is a fly ball guy. Put those two together and the end result is not going to be pretty.

Chris Sale is set to make his return after nearly a month of missing the action due to left shoulder inflammation. This was Sale's second stint on the disabled list with this same injury. Sale attempted to come back last month against the Baltimore Orioles and looked sharp. However, his shoulder still showed slight signs of injury, landing him back on the DL.   The Red Sox barely avoided a sweep at the hands of the Astros on Sunday night and look to bounce back with a series win in their home ballpark. 

The Red Sox are welcoming an Astros team to town who have won 5 games in a row against the Twins and Angels. The Astros have also won 12 out of their last 15. This will be a battle of heavyweights as the Red Sox have the best home record in major league baseball (48-18) and the Astros have the best away record (47-21).  Also The Red Sox have the most runs per game and the Astros have the lowest ERA per game. On the mound for the Red Sox is David Price. Price missed his last start due to taking a hard line drive off his wrist. The Red Sox are 9-0 in Price’s last 9 starts. On the mound for Astros is Gerrit Cole who has already defeated the Red Sox earlier this season, and has had a very nice first season in Houston. Cole is 13-5 with a 2.86 ERA.

In his team debut, Brandon Phillips crushed a two-run homer in the ninth inning as Boston rallied from 7-1 down in the eighth to defeat the Braves 9-8 on Wednesday afternoon.  The win gave Boston a sweep of Atlanta, and the Sox became the first team this season to overcome a six-run deficit in the 8th or later.
