Srixon's New Clubs: What REALLY Changed? | Joe Miller Explains12 Oct 202601:30:38

Srixon's newest golf clubs aren't simply about releasing something new every year — they're about deciding what actually needs to change.

In this Birdie Golf Club Podcast, Dave gets a behind-the-scenes look at the brand new Srixon and Cleveland Golf equipment before sitting down with Joe Miller, Head of Product, to find out what really goes into developing the clubs that eventually make it into your golf bag.

Joe explains how Srixon decides when a product needs a small evolution and when it needs to be completely redesigned, why product timing matters, and how the company balances the demands of tour professionals with what everyday golfers actually need.

We get into the latest Srixon driver, the new irons, Cleveland wedges and the thinking behind the latest lineup — but one club in particular gets plenty of attention:

THE SRIXON ZXi5+.

Dave has already been testing the ZXi5+ and explains why this club caught him by surprise, where it fits into the Srixon iron lineup and why it could be a genuine alternative to a traditional utility iron.

Joe also reveals how Srixon develops equipment that has to perform for contracted tour players while still appealing to golfers who aren't on staff — and why some of the biggest improvements aren't always the things you notice immediately on the shelf.

If you're interested in golf equipment, Srixon, Cleveland Golf, new golf clubs, irons, drivers, wedges, utility irons or simply want to understand how the equipment in your bag is actually developed, this episode is for you.

This conversation was originally recorded for retail education, giving you a more detailed and unfiltered look at the thinking behind the latest Srixon and Cleveland releases.

The Weirdest Things We've Seen at a Golf Tournament 😂 | Wentworth06 Oct 202601:11:18

What happens when you put tour professionals, celebrities and thousands of golf fans together at Wentworth?

Dave is joined by returning guest Lee Anthony Brennan for a wide-ranging conversation covering Dave's first proper tournament experience at the BMW PGA Championship, Rory McIlroy, Adrian Meronk, pro-am culture and some genuinely bizarre spectator behaviour.

After coming back from holiday and completely missing the Alfred Dunhill Links Championship, Dave and Lee try to piece together what happened — before getting into Adrian Meronk's win and the wider conversation around professional golf and the Ryder Cup.

Dave then shares what it was actually like attending Wentworth, including seeing Rory McIlroy up close, hearing the difference between tour professionals and celebrity golfers, and watching how players such as Ludvig Åberg and Andy Sullivan strike the ball.

But the biggest conversation comes around golf fans.

Why are some spectators more interested in celebrities than the professional golfers actually competing? Where is the line between being an enthusiastic fan and becoming entitled? And is asking players for golf balls, autographs or attention ever acceptable?

Dave and Lee share some of the strangest moments they witnessed at Wentworth — including a bizarre golf-ball request from the grandstand and an awkward interaction involving Adam Scott.

There's also plenty of classic Lee Brennan chat along the way, including old internet scams, Dave's Turkey holiday, the now-infamous bidet toilet, winter training, simulator practice, Shot Scope data and Lee's plan to regain some lost clubhead speed.

It's a proper Birdie Golf Club catch-up: professional golf, Wentworth, golf culture, funny stories and plenty of opinions.

11 Shots. LIV Golf Bankruptcy. And I'm Off to Wentworth.15 Sep 202600:28:16

11 shots. LIV Golf bankruptcy. The Solheim Cup. Joe Dean chasing a PGA TOUR card. And I'm off to Wentworth.

It's been a huge week in professional golf, so Dave flies solo for a packed Birdie Golf Club Podcast covering some of the biggest stories from across the game.

First up is Europe's 15-13 Solheim Cup victory over the United States, including the dramatic finish and the debate around Europe's on-green celebrations.

Dave asks whether golf's traditional culture is becoming too quick to judge modern celebrations — or whether some moments simply deserve a bit more restraint.

Then it's Shane Lowry.

Lowry produced one of the most dominant performances we've seen on the DP World Tour, winning the Irish Open by a record 11 shots.

Dave discusses Lowry's ball striking, his instinctive putting style and why his simple approach to the game is so enjoyable to watch.

He also looks at the social media backlash surrounding Lowry's comments during the Irish Open and why Dave thinks the wider context of the conversation was lost online.

The conversation then turns to one of the biggest stories in professional golf:

LIV Golf has filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection as it attempts to restructure the league and build a new model for the future.

What does that mean for LIV?

What happens to the players?

And what could a potential LIV reboot mean for the PGA TOUR and DP World Tour?

Dave also checks in on Joe Dean's incredible rise.

When this conversation was recorded, Joe was around the mid-70s in the Race to Dubai standings and fighting to protect his DP World Tour status.

Since then, his season has exploded.

After winning the British Masters, Joe has climbed right into the battle for a 2027 PGA TOUR card and is currently just outside the top 10 in the PGA TOUR eligibility standings.

Finally, Dave gives his first proper preview of his trip to Wentworth for the BMW PGA Championship — including what he's expecting from the event, the atmosphere, the course, who he might meet and, importantly, what on earth you should wear to a professional golf tournament.

Willingdon Golf Club: A £20 Golf Course Hidden Gem08 Sep 202600:21:29

What can you actually get for £20 on a golf course in Sussex?

Dave visits Willingdon Golf Club for an affordable round of golf and explores what makes the course interesting, memorable and worth putting on the radar of golfers in the area.

The episode looks at the design and character of Willingdon, the importance of value for money and why some of the best golfing experiences can come from courses that don't have the biggest price tags.

Dave also discusses the wider issue of golf becoming increasingly expensive, the importance of local and community golf, and what makes a course worth returning to.

Away from the course, there's a look at podcasting and the Birdie Golf Club community, including the importance of listener engagement and ideas for future course visits.

A shorter, more personal Birdie Golf Club episode about discovering an affordable Sussex golf course — and asking whether £20 can still buy you a memorable round.

Is Golf Losing Its Connection With Fans? 25 Aug 202601:18:41

Is golf losing its connection with fans?

Dave and Luke have a wide-ranging conversation about the state and future of the game — from professional golf and the DP World Tour to the rise of women's golf, the importance of great sporting stories and whether golf is becoming too expensive and inaccessible for ordinary players.

They discuss why some professional golf struggles to capture attention, what makes a player or tournament genuinely relatable, and why stories such as Ellie Givens' journey can create a much stronger connection with fans.

The conversation also explores golf course pricing, grassroots and community golf, long drive, and the growing importance of content creation and storytelling in the modern golf industry.

Ultimately, it's a conversation about a bigger question: what actually makes people fall in love with golf — and how does the game keep that connection in the future?

Is inconsistent strike holding your golf game back?

In this episode of the Birdie Golf Club Podcast, we speak with Chris about the philosophy behind improving consistency and ball striking — regardless of the club you’re using — and how the Strike Wedge was developed as a simple, effective way to give golfers instant impact feedback and structured practice that turns results into habits.

Would You Start A Golf YouTube Channel Today ? - Episode 5616 Dec 202500:58:12

Starting is easy.
Sticking with it is where things get complicated.

In this episode, I’m joined by Dennis from the Bogey Golf YouTube channel to talk honestly about what it’s like to build something in golf once the landscape has changed.

We discuss why breaking 90 still matters more than most people admit, the hidden time cost of creating golf content, and why Dennis says he wouldn’t start a YouTube channel today if he had to begin from scratch.

Along the way, we touch on links golf, bucket-list courses, brand partnerships, and the growing influence of personalities and celebrity in the game — but always through the lens of the amateur golfer trying to balance passion with pressure.

This isn’t a how-to episode.
It’s a conversation about expectations, effort, and what golf gives back — and takes — when you commit to it.
