Bruce Samson Doctor Sonar | Bigwater Fishing Podcast #67 With Ross Robertson12 Nov 202301:21:01

Doc" Bruce Samson has multiple major wins to his credit and is known as the Devil's Lake Master having won the PWT on the lake twice. He also won the MWC National Walleye Championship in 1986 and the RCL National Walleye Championship in 2002. Doc also has 8 major walleye tournament wins including the MWC twice, the PWT 4 times, the AIM once, and the FLW/RCL once. Doc Samson has a winning formula that has worked for him on both lakes and rivers; this formula includes using today's technology to his advantage on the water. GPS and Sonar technology are common tools in competitive walleye fishing, but few walleye pros have blended the technology with aerial photos, satellite elevation charts, and custom designed contour maps. Doc is one that does this and he does it well with his proven techniques on the tournament trail. https://doctorsonar.com/ Capt. Is Cheating Killing Fishing Tournaments? Walleye Fishing Roundtable | Bigwater Fishing Podcast #6501 Oct 202301:25:33

In this podcast, we discuss the recent cheating scandals that have rocked the world of competitive fishing, and what it means for the future of fishing tournaments. We talk pro walleye anglers Joe Okada and Brett King along with Denny Fox from the Aim Pro Walleye Series to get their insights on the problem of cheating and how to prevent it in the future. We also discuss the impact that cheating has on the sport of fishing as a whole. When anglers cheat, it undermines the integrity of the sport and makes it difficult for honest anglers to compete fairly. It also damages the reputation of the sport and can deter new anglers from participating. It is important to remember that the vast majority of anglers are honest and ethical. However, the recent fishing tournament cheating scandals shows that there are a small number of anglers who are willing to cheat to win. It is important to take steps to prevent cheating in the future, in order to protect the integrity of the sport and ensure that everyone has a fair chance to compete. Capt. Ross Robertson has made his complete living chasing walleye as a full time professional angler for more than 20 years. Through the years he has worn many hats including time as a fishing guide, boat salesman, TV host, outdoor writer, product designer, tournament fisherman, speaker, radio host and podcaster to name a few.

Mike Weinhofer - Florida Keys Fishing Guide17 Jul 202201:04:47

Captain Mike Weinhofer shares some of the crazy stories from being a charter captain in Key West Florida and discusses some of the rich history of the area. Mike Weinhofer began fishing with my father at the age of 5 in New Jersey where he learned to fish on his charter boat. He fished numerous tournaments together in many incredible locations and soon Mike and his father shared a love of fishing. He caught his first sailfish on the Gone Fishin out of Islamorada, FL when he was 7 and was hooked for life. He told his father that someday he would live in the Florida Keys and fish for a living. Twenty-eight years ago, he made that dream come true, moved to Key West, and began chartering his first light tackle fishing boat. He was living the dream, fishing from Venezuela to Cuba, the Bahamas to Maryland, the Outer Banks, and all over Mexico. Capt. Ross Robertson has made his complete living chasing walleye as a full time professional angler for more than 20 years. Jay Siemens - Outdoors YouTuber - Uncut Angling10 Apr 202200:55:35

The search for a perfect picture is like the pursuit of a flawless fish – a seemingly impossible task packed with enough challenge to bring photographers and anglers back day after day. It is this exhilarating chase of perfection that drives Jay’s work. Armed with a rod in one hand and a camera in the other, Jay’s love for photography was born on lakes, ponds, and wherever his chase for the next bite would take him. His desire to digitally represent the world around him began with 50” Muskies and 12-lb Walleyes. Jay recognizes that a good camera is to photography what a good rod is to fishing – a necessary tool that is nearly useless without a deep and balanced understanding of the craft. Jay’s keen eye for visual composition and his experience working professionally in the field provide him with the foundation to succeed in a talent filled industry.

In the fall of 2011, Jay’s camerawork helped launched the birth of Uncut Angling. Uncut has gained 200,000+ subscribers and over 45,000,000 views on Youtube. It provides viewers an exceptionally raw and real perspective, capturing the chase of trophy fish. In the Spring of 2018 Jay formed Thrive Visuals, his own production company specializing in the outdoor world. Specifically fishing and hunting content creation. They have had the honour of working with such brands as Travel Manitoba, Honda, and Alumacraft Boats. At the same time as Thrive Visuals was launched Jay decided it was time for another creative outlet and decided to put more focus into producing content for his personal YouTube channel.

The channel quickly rose to over 40,000 subscribers and is an outlet for him to share and teach of his loves of fishing, hunting, videography, and everything in between. Jay recently made the move to Kenora, Ontario where he spends his days fishing in NW Ontario, Manitoba, and beyond. Jay prides himself on creating content that is suitable for all ages. Capt. Ross Robertson has made his complete living chasing walleye as a full time professional angler for more than 20 years. Doctor Sonar Bruce Samson01 Aug 202101:10:27

Want to know how to accurately know fish size on your fish finder? Confused by side imaging and the latest products? How do your sonar's settings affect what you see and your fish catch rate? Its all here. Bruce "Dr. Sonar" Samson joins the Bigwater Podcast for a second time to break down many of the common mistakes that anglers make with sonar. Bruce appears at fishing schools and has a line of educational videos at doctorsonar.com

"Doc" Bruce Samson has multiple major wins to his credit and is known as the Devil's Lake Master having won the PWT on the lake twice.

Doc possesses the knowledge and experience to improve others and was honored with the Professional Walleye Trail Norb Wallock Memorial Teaching Award, the "Top PWT Teaching Pro" in 2004.

When not competing, the Doc is active teaching electronics and fishing skills at every level. Whether you seek a little help or a lot, the Doc can help you via his website, educational DVDs, seminars, classes, Walleye Schools, magazine articles, or one-on-one with water training.

Doc has been inducted into the Minnesota Fishing Hall of Fame and the Freshwater Fishing Hall of fame.

Al Lindner - Lindner's Angling Edge, Fishing Media Pioneer21 Jun 202101:08:47

During a long career spanning the most revolutionary years in sportfishing history, Al Lindner ranks among the most renowned leaders in the fishing industry. He continues to fish avidly for all freshwater fish, averaging about 180 days a year on the water, and is hailed as one of the world’s best all-around anglers.

As the host of Lindner’s Angling Edge and Fishing Edge television series, Al remains immensely popular as one of the best-recognized angling authorities in North America. Al, however, has always worn many hats, and even his most avid fans may not realize the extent of his past and present involvement with all aspects of the fishing business. Other than finding new and better ways to catch fish, that is.

Foremost among his current efforts, Al is a driving force at Lindner Media Productions, which specializes in producing educational fishing programs and DVDs, national TV commercials, product sales presentations, point-of-purchase product DVDs shown internationally in sporting goods stores and provide their trademark underwater photography to the sport fishing industry.
Al is a two-time Bassmaster tournament winner. Besides being one of the earliest and more famous participants in professional tournament fishing, he is one of the few fishermen who has successfully fished and won major bass tournaments in the south as well as professional walleye tournaments in the north.

Al played an important part in developing and promoting many angling concepts, procedures, products and language that today’s anglers often take for granted. With his brother Ron, he helped formulate a classification system for categorizing lake, river, and reservoir types. He is also famous for patterning fish response by calendar season.

Al, Ron, James, Daniel and Bill Lindner are the creative forces behind Lindner Media and their wide variety of award-winning productions, and have a long and storied history in the fishing business. The Lindners sold their stakes in Lindy Tackle in 1973, and in In-Fisherman in 1998. Today, they focus their efforts on Lindner Media Productions, whose client list includes some of the most respected names in the outdoor industry.
