What Does Real Lived Witchcraft Look Like?14 Feb 202600:55:26

In this episode of Between Three Witches, we explore a question that sits at the heart of our craft: what does real, lived witchcraft actually look like?

Hosted by Gayle (The Witch Next Door), Vikkie (The Wheelie Green Witch), and ANON (The Anonymous Witch), this podcast is all about everyday magic, practised honestly, imperfectly, and in plain sight. We each walk different paths, with different levels of experience and perspectives, but we share a deep respect for witchcraft as it is truly lived, not just aesthetic, not just ritual-heavy, but woven into ordinary life.

After catching up on how we’ve been since recording our first episode, we dive into the subtle, powerful ways witchcraft shows up day to day.

✨ Daily & Near-Daily Practices

🕯️ Domestic or “Mundane” Magic

🌿 Relationship with Nature

🛡️ Protection & Boundaries

🕯️ Ancestral & Spirit Awareness

📖 Knowledge-Keeping & Curiosity

🍂 Seasonal & Cyclical Living

To close, we reflect on how deeply personal witchcraft truly is. There is no single template. No single “right way.” Each of us shares how our craft looks in real life, and how it changes with time, capacity, and season.

This week we answer a question from Dena and Becky on Patreon:

How do you learn or create incantations — and are they even necessary?

What does it mean to be a witch in plain sight?17 Jan 202600:35:53

What does it really mean to live as a witch in plain sight?

Not hidden.
Not secret.
But also not performative.

In this first episode of Between Three Witches, we explore what witchcraft looks like when it’s lived quietly, honestly, and with intention, woven into everyday choices, boundaries, rhythms, and relationships rather than displayed for validation.

Hosted by three witches with different paths, Gayle The Witch Next Door, whose focus in moon magic, herb and foraging and seasonal living. Vikkie, The Wheelie Green Witch who is a lifelong practitioner with a green witch focused practice and last but by no means least the anonymous witch, whose love of fairy magic and whimsy through a life long lived and embedded practice brings 3 practices together that provide something for every level of practitioner.

Through a shared respect for the craft as it’s actually practised, this conversation is rooted in lived reality rather than aesthetics or hierarchy.

This episode is not about “coming out” as a witch. It’s also not about social media, platforms, or aesthetics. And it’s not about telling anyone how open their practice should be.

It is about agency, discernment, and living your values without needing to explain yourself.

Grab a seat and coffee and come join us in discovering what it means to be a witch in plain sight.

Connecting with ancestors (without the nonsense)28 Feb 202600:56:18

How do you genuinely connect with ancestors and spirits… without the theatrics, fear mongering, or over complication?

In this episode of Between Three Witches, Gayle (The Witch Next Door), Vikkie (The Wheelie Green Witch), and ANON (The Anonymous Witch) unpack what ancestor and spirit work actually looks like in real, everyday practice, not the dramatised version social media often sells.

Prompted by a thoughtful question from one of our Patreon listeners, we explore:

  • What we really mean by “ancestors”, of blood, land, craft, and choice

  • Why spirit communication is often subtle, not cinematic

  • Simple, grounded daily practices that build connection over time

  • Creating safe inner foundations before reaching outward

  • Boundaries, discernment, and why protection isn’t paranoia

  • The difference between healthy spirit companionship and escapism

We talk about quiet acknowledgements, candles lit with intention, cooking family recipes, journaling dreams, and keeping offerings simple and meaningful. No strict rules. No gatekeeping. No pretending every breeze is a message.

This conversation is about relationship, not performance. About staying rooted in the physical world while honouring what came before. And about trusting your intuition without losing your grounding.

As always, we share laughs, life updates, and honest reflections on what this work really looks like behind closed doors.

If you’ve ever wondered whether you’re “doing it right,” or felt overwhelmed by dramatic expectations around spirit work, this episode is for you.

And don’t miss our Sit With Us listener question at the end:
What’s your favourite spell to cast, and your favourite tool to do it?

Listen in, and may your practice meet you exactly where you are.

Curses, hexes & ethics in witchcraft14 Mar 202600:47:37

In this episode, we share thoughtful perspectives without fear, sensationalism, or judgement, offering an honest conversation about one of witchcraft’s most misunderstood subjects. We explore one of the most debated topics in modern witchcraft: curses, hexes, baneful magic, and magical ethics.

Between Three Witches – Witchcraft in Plain Sight is a witchcraft podcast exploring real magical practice, folklore traditions, everyday spirituality, and honest conversations about modern witchcraft.

Hosted by:

  • Gayle – The Witch Next Door

  • Vikkie – The Wheelie Green Witch

  • ANON – The Anonymous Witch

In a world where social media often sensationalises witchcraft, this episode takes a grounded, practical look at baneful magic, separating folklore, historical practice, and modern perspectives from the myths and fearmongering often seen online.

Whether you're new to witchcraft or an experienced practitioner, we discuss how witches approach ethics, responsibility, intention, and magical consequences when it comes to hexes and curses.

We break down the terminology often used in magical practice, including hexes, curses, jinxes, and baneful magic, and explore how intention, scope, and outcome affect how these workings are understood in different traditions.

Baneful magic has existed for centuries within folk magic traditions, cunning craft, and traditional witchcraft. We explore how curses and retaliatory magic historically existed alongside protective magic and how modern witchcraft communities interpret these practices today.

One of the most complex conversations in witchcraft revolves around magical ethics. Not all witches follow the same moral framework, and we discuss how personal ethics, responsibility, consent, and intention shape magical decision-making.

Is there ever a situation where curses or hexes might be considered justified? We explore the difference between protection, retaliation, and emotional impulse, and why reflection and emotional regulation are important before any magical work.

This week’s listener question comes from Emily on Patreon:

"How do you find balance between work and belief? I’ve been trying to stay calm and centred, but work often gets in the way."

We discuss practical ways witches integrate grounding, spiritual practice, and everyday life, even during stressful work schedules.

Curses, hexes, and magical ethics are rarely simple topics.

Every practitioner approaches baneful magic differently based on experience, tradition, personal ethics, and spiritual philosophy.

We hope you enjoy the episode and and in two weeks we explore the basics of witchcraft and the terminology!

See you next time, and you can find us all on social media platforms.

The Basics of Witchcraft Ep1/227 Mar 202601:02:40

Episode: The Basics of Witchcraft & the Terminology

Witchcraft can feel overwhelming when you’re first stepping into it…
so many terms, so many paths, and a lot of noise around what it’s supposed to look like.

In this episode of Between Three Witches, we bring it back to something much simpler:

✨ What witchcraft actually is
✨ The language you’ll hear (and what it really means)
✨ How different paths and practices show up in real life
✨ And how to begin without overcomplicating it

This isn’t about rigid rules or perfect definitions,
it’s about understanding the foundations in a way that feels grounded, honest, and accessible.

We also explore the difference between traditional and modern approaches, the role of tools and intention, and why your practice doesn’t need to look like anyone else’s.

And in this week’s “Come Sit With Us” segment, we answer a listener question around shadow work, what it is, why it matters, and why it doesn’t always look the way you expect.

If you’ve ever felt unsure where to start, confused by terminology, or like you’re “missing something”…
this episode is for you.

Witchcraft 101 guest edition - Nixie Vale25 Apr 202600:44:25

This week feels different… because for the first time, it’s not just the three of us.

We’re joined by Nixie Vale for our first ever guest episode, and it opens up a conversation that’s long overdue.

We’re talking about what witchcraft actually looks like in real life… not the aesthetic, not the performance… but the version that has to fit around bodies, energy, limitations, and the truth of day-to-day living.

Nixie shares her experience of navigating disability and chronic illness within witchcraft, and how that reshapes what practice looks like when you can’t follow the “expected” path.

Because the reality is…witchcraft isn’t always candlelit rituals and perfect timing.

Sometimes it’s:

  • adapting
  • simplifying
  • listening to your body instead of pushing through
  • and redefining what “practice” even means

We also talk about her new book, the thinking behind it, and why accessibility in spiritual spaces matters more than people like to admit.

And… because we couldn’t not…

Nixie steps into our first ever “Keep or Cut – Guest Edition” 👀
(you already know that gets interesting)

This episode is slower, more honest, and probably closer to what witchcraft actually looks like for most people than anything you’ll see online.

If you’ve ever felt like you’re “not doing it right”… this one might shift that.

What happens when witches turn on each other?09 May 202601:06:50

In this episode of Between Three Witches, we turn the mirror on ourselves.

No guests just us, asking each other the questions we usually hold for everyone else… and letting whatever comes up, come up.

What starts as curiosity quickly becomes something deeper.

We explore what it actually means to feel called to a path, especially when it’s something you’ve known before but put down. The difference between being at the beginning… and being in a return. The quiet tension between intuition and conditioning. And how many of us have been trusting ourselves far less than we should.

We talk about:
• Why intuition isn’t just something you “learn”
• The difference between judgement and discernment (and why that matters more than you think)
• What happens when you’re highly sensitive to energy but don’t yet have structure around it
• How to begin properly, without overwhelm, without doing everything at once
• And why most people aren’t lost… they’re just disconnected from their own rhythm

This episode is for anyone who feels like there’s something more to them… but doesn’t quite know how to step into it yet.

Or maybe… you do know. You just haven’t trusted it.
