S7 E4 - Finding Humour in the Hardest Moments: Lorna Cronin on Miscarriage, Weight Loss & GLP-1 01 mai 202601:00:39

“I wasn’t prepared for what happened… no one tells you what it’s really like.”

Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussion of miscarriage, baby loss, trauma, and mental health.

This week I'm joined by Lorna Cronin, known online as @lorzylovey and while you might know her for her humour and relatability, this episode shares the story behind the laughter.

Lorna opens up about her experience of multiple miscarriages, including one deeply traumatic loss that changed everything for her. She speaks so honestly about the loneliness, the shock, and the reality of what women go through, often in silence.

We also talk about her journey with weight, body image, and her experience using GLP-1 medication, and how it’s impacted not just her body, but her mind.

What I loved most about this conversation is Lorna’s ability to hold both truth and humour at the same time, and how she uses comedy not to hide, but to cope.

This episode is raw, real, and incredibly important.

✨ In this episode:

  • Growing up in Cork and feeling shy as a child
  • ADHD and understanding herself later in life
  • Early career, moving to London & homesickness
  • Meeting her husband and building a life together
  • Miscarriages and the emotional toll of loss
  • The trauma of hospital experience
  • Loneliness, grief, and not feeling understood
  • Using humour as a coping mechanism
  • The pressure to “just get on with it”
  • Her weight journey and body image struggles
  • GLP-1 and how it changed her mindset
  • Food noise, emotional eating & breaking patterns
  • The stigma around weight loss medication
  • Setting boundaries and starting to put herself first
  • Social media, community & finding connection online
  • Confidence vs courage and learning to back herself

S7 E2 - From Addiction to “The Mother of All Comebacks”: Brenda Dennehy on Sobriety, Identity & Rebuilding Her Life17 avr. 202600:52:11

Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussion of addiction, substance abuse, overdose, and mental health struggles.

“I promise you… I’ll make the mother of all comebacks.”

This week’s episode is one I won’t forget.

I sit down with Brenda Dennehy, known to many as Brenda’s Bits, for a conversation that is raw, honest, and deeply powerful. Brenda is a broadcaster, podcaster, and storyteller who has worked with Sky News, BBC, and ITV, building a career around sharing real-life stories with honesty, humour, and heart. But behind that career was a very different reality.

In this episode, she opens up about her journey through addiction, the moments that nearly broke her, and what it really took to come back from it all. What struck me most is how she owns every part of her story. The shame, the setbacks, the rock bottoms, and the decision to rebuild anyway.

Now almost seven years sober, Brenda is using her voice in a completely different way, through her podcast The Comeback with Brenda Dennehy and her work as a coach, helping others feel seen, supported, and less alone.

✨ In this episode:

  • Growing up in Cork and early dreams of working in media
  • The moment alcohol first “worked”
  • Functioning addiction and hiding it from those closest to her
  • Rehab at 25 and the first turning point
  • The reality of Xanax addiction and mixing substances
  • Overdose, hospitalisation, and a second chance
  • Losing her job and identity, and starting again
  • “The mother of all comebacks” mindset
  • Rebuilding her career and moving to London
  • The power of storytelling and sharing real experiences
  • Creating The Comeback podcast and helping others heal

S7 E1 - Early Onset Parkinson’s, Body Image & Turning Pain Into Purpose with Annmarie O'Connor10 avr. 202600:47:09

Trigger Warning: This episode contains discussion of chronic illness, grief, loss, and disordered eating.

Sometimes life doesn’t just change - it asks you to become someone new.

In this episode, I sit down (again) with Annmarie O'Connor, someone who first joined me back in 2019, and whose life has transformed in ways neither of us could have imagined.

Since we last spoke, Annmarie has been diagnosed with early onset Parkinson’s disease. What follows is one of the most honest, raw, and deeply human conversations we’ve had on BeBelle. From the diagnosis, to finding purpose again through storytelling, she shares it all with such courage and clarity.

This is a conversation about illness, but more than that, it’s about resilience, identity, and what it means to truly live when everything changes.

✨ In this episode:

  • Annmarie’s early symptoms and the long road to diagnosis
  • What Parkinson’s actually is and why it’s often misunderstood
  • Living with a progressive condition and the unpredictability it brings
  • The reality of pain, fatigue, and managing symptoms day to day
  • Writing her book Twitch and turning pain into purpose
  • Disordered eating, body image, and facing old patterns
  • Grief, not just for others, but for past versions of yourself
  • The power of visibility and breaking stigma around illness
  • What her friend’s passing taught her about life, friendship, and time
  • Why “we all have a twitch” and how our stories connect us

S6 E24 - Why I’m Changing the Way I Speak to (and About) Myself - What I learnt from Miriam Hussey12 nov. 202500:07:02

I've been saying the same thing about myself for years. It’s time I stop.

In this minisode, I’m reflecting on my conversation with Miriam Hussey - speaker, author, co-founder of Soul Space, and someone I’ve admired for years.

Miriam’s new book Light Up is out now and after our chat, I walked away with more than a reading list. What really stuck with me was how she speaks about the mind, body, and soul as a circle and how most of us are only feeding two of the three.

This episode is about changing the way we speak to ourselves, about ourselves. I’ve always said “I’ve been big my whole life” - but Miriam made me question why I keep saying it, and how that language shapes how I feel. So, I’m tracking my words. And I’m trying to speak with more care.

✨ In this episode:

  • The moment Miriam changed my mindset about the soul
  • Food, self-image & what GLP-1 showed me
  • The problem with saying “I’ve always been like this”
  • How we teach children to internalise fear and shame
  • The impact of early language on lifelong identity
  • Setting small goals for mind, body and soul
  • Why joy is a better compass than discipline

S6 E23 - What Grandad Billy Taught Me: Marriage, Memories & Why Listening Matters07 nov. 202500:03:45

Some people just make you want to be better. Grandad Billy is one of them.

In this minisode, I’m reflecting on my conversation with Billy Kennedy - also known to many as Grandad Billy, and grandfather to Aine, the founder of The Smooth Company.

I don’t say this lightly: this episode is one of my favourites. Billy’s stories about chasing his future wife down O’Connell Street, raising six children, and finding deep meaning in love and family reminded me of what truly matters.

He may not look like your typical insurance man, but his gift for storytelling, kindness, and listening is something we can all learn from - in life, in business, and in how we show up for others.

This one will make you smile. It might make you cry. But most of all, I hope it leaves you feeling grateful - just like it did for me.

✨ In this episode:

  • The story of how he met (and won over) the love of his life
  • Why his marriage was the best time of his life
  • Raising a big family and leaving a quiet legacy
  • Reflections on kindness, mechanics, insurance and storytelling
  • What we can learn from people who really listen
  • Why I believe apprenticeship trades matter more than ever
  • My thoughts on having him join a wellness retreat (!)

S6 E22 - Why I’ll Always Take My Shoes Off in the Grass - A Reflection on Grounding & Grief with Feebee Foran05 nov. 202500:03:52

Some people bury their pain. Feebee Foran planted hers and something beautiful grew from it.

This week, I’m reflecting on my conversation with Feebee Foran, the heart behind Forager - a brand built from grief, grounded in nature, and rooted in joy.

We talked about so much: her childhood, her relationship with the earth, the loss of her father, and how digging into the soil helped her find her way again. It brought up memories of my own grief, and how movement and joy helped me heal in ways I never expected.

This minisode is about grief, yes - but also about grounding, growth, and going back to the things that made us feel alive when we were little. Whether that’s dancing, foraging, or just taking your shoes off in the grass.

✨ In this episode:

  • How Feebee turned grief into creativity
  • The grounding power of nature (and going barefoot!)
  • What I’ve learned from movement, dance and joy
  • How your childhood can point you back to purpose
  • Naming Forager and building a business from the soul
  • Why I believe the best businesses are born from healing

S6 E21 - She’s the One to Watch: A Reflection on Jenny Johnston O’Neill’s Passion, Purpose & Power31 oct. 202500:03:16

Some people are quietly brilliant - Jenny Johnston O’Neill is one of them.

In this minisode, I’m reflecting on my conversation with Jenny Johnston O’Neill - CEO of Azure, a marketing visionary, and someone I’ve admired from the moment I met her.

Jenny’s story is full of the kind of moments we don’t always celebrate enough - dancing at Julian Benson’s classes, working behind the scenes in agencies, seeing things differently. Her career path is proof that you don’t have to follow a traditional route to lead with impact. Her joy, her creativity, and her approach to business are magnetic - and I truly believe this is only the beginning.

We talk about marketing, making things famous, and why being “good at school” doesn’t define your success. Jenny reminded me that some of the most powerful women I know didn’t shout their way to the top - they just did the work with heart.

✨ In this episode:

  • The moment I knew Jenny was going to be someone to watch
  • Growing up in dance and finding confidence outside the classroom
  • Her marketing mindset: “How do we make it famous?”
  • Loving business, without losing yourself
  • The connection between purpose and performance
  • Why I believe this is just the start for her

S6 E20 - We Need To Talk About This More - What My Chat with Nicole Ryan Brought Up For Me29 oct. 202500:06:09

Trigger warning: This episode includes conversations around domestic abuse, addiction, overdose, miscarriage and grief. Please listen with care.

Some stories stay with you. Nicole’s did.

In this minisode, I reflect on my chat with Senator Nicole Ryan (@senator_ryan_sf), and the deeply human story behind the political title. Nicole has walked through things most of us couldn’t imagine - from childhood sadness to public grief, and personal loss.

What struck me most wasn’t just her strength, but her softness. The way her voice shifted when she spoke about therapy. The honesty in how she shared her miscarriage. And how deeply I felt all of it, having walked that road myself - seven times.

This minisode is about the weight of things unspoken - and the power of saying them out loud.

✨ In this episode:

  • What Nicole’s childhood revealed about identity and survival
  • Therapy, grief and finding the tools to heal
  • Her message about her brother - and why it matters
  • Miscarriage, silence and how common doesn’t mean easy
  • Sian’s own experience of pregnancy loss and why the secrecy hurts
  • Why we need to open the conversation and stop waiting to be asked

S6 E19 - Why You Don’t Always Need to Stand in the Spotlight - What I Learned from Conor Buckley’s Purposeful Path24 oct. 202500:03:53

Not everyone needs to stand in the spotlight, but nothing happens without the ones holding it up.

In this minisode, I’m reflecting on my conversation with Conor Buckley, founder of Human Collective - a values-led fashion brand that champions quiet impact, equality, and inclusion.

This chat reminded me of the people behind the scenes, the dads, the partners, the allies, who don’t always get the attention, but whose support makes all the difference. We talk about legacy, true allyship, and what it means to build something that lasts, without shouting the loudest.

It also reminded me that women’s progress doesn’t happen without men on board too, and why it’s not about perfection, but participation.

✨ In this episode:

  • The quiet power of Conor’s leadership
  • His reflections on both his parents’ impact
  • Why real change happens through collective effort
  • What allyship looks like in action, not just intention
  • How community moved the needle in the Marriage Equality referendum
  • Why I believe collaboration, not competition, drives progress
  • And yes, I talked too much... but only because it meant so much

S6 E18 - Learning From Those Who Have Done It Before & Why I Wanted To Chat With Michelle Ryan22 oct. 202500:05:50

If you grew up in a family business, you learn early that rest has to be earned but I don’t believe that anymore.

In this minisode, I’m reflecting on my chat with the brilliant Michelle Ryan, founder of The Holistic Leaders and a woman who’s helping business owners blend strategy with soul - without burning out.

Michelle’s story brought me right back to my own - growing up in a pub, hiding from the phone when it rang because we knew it meant we’d have to work. We talk about that early conditioning, what it means to "work hard," and how choosing a different path isn’t just brave - it’s necessary.

This episode is a love letter to the women doing business differently – who believe in nervous system support, sauna days, and the power of saying no.

✨ In this episode:

  • What I learned from growing up in a pub
  • Working like it’s yours (even when it’s not)
  • Michelle’s move from corporate to conscious leadership
  • Rest, cold dips & why I take a mini-break every month
  • Woo vs. woo-woo – finding your own version of spirituality
  • The power of values-based business
  • What Michelle’s work taught me about leading with ease

S6 E17 - Could Your Story Help Others? What Mark Fennell Taught Me About Choice, Reaction & Healing17 oct. 202500:04:58

Some people leave the room and you’re different because of them - Mark Fennell is one of those people.

This week, I’m sharing my thoughts after sitting down with the incredible Mark Fennell - coach, speaker, mentor, and all-round powerhouse of perspective.

In this minisode, I reflect on what really stayed with me from our conversation - from the bullying Mark experienced as a boy, to the way he transformed that pain into purpose by helping others. I talk about the importance of sharing your story, why I don’t believe in keeping trauma locked up, and how choice becomes the most powerful tool we have when life doesn’t go to plan.

If you’ve ever struggled with self-worth, direction, or feeling like you had to hide your pain - this one’s for you.

✨ In this episode:

  • What bullying taught Mark and what stayed with me
  • Why I believe sharing our stories lightens the load
  • How trauma becomes purpose when we speak it out loud
  • My own experience with fertility and helping others heal
  • The power of choice when you can’t control the outcome
  • Why I believe everyone needs a “Mark Fennell” in their life

S6 E16 - I Lost £100,00 Overnight & Coming Back From Disappointment - Why I Resonated with Audrey Hamilton15 oct. 202500:03:29

We all love a comeback but we rarely talk about what it takes to come back from disappointment.

Today, I’m reflecting on my conversation with the brilliant Audrey Hamilton - artist, creative, entrepreneur, and bright spark of a human. I thought I knew her story… until we sat down to talk.

In this minisode, I share what stuck with me - not just about her success, but about the moment things didn’t go to plan. Because it’s easy to admire people at the top. But the real magic? It’s in how they come back when things fall apart.

We also talk about failure (and why I don’t believe in it), our own experiences of losing businesses, and why reinvention starts with values, not validation.

✨ In this episode:

  • Why I don’t believe in failure
  • Audrey’s creative journey and pivot back to purpose
  • What happens when a dream doesn’t work out
  • My story of losing a business and rebuilding during a recession
  • Relationships, values and building something real
  • Why disappointment might be the best teacher of all

S6 E15 - Why I Became the Social Butterfly: School, Sisterhood & Self-Worth - What Tammy Darcy’s Story Brought Up For Me10 oct. 202500:06:15

You don’t need to be bullied to carry the fear of not belonging.

In this minisode, I’m reflecting on my conversation with Tammy Darcy, founder of The Shona Project, and the powerful work she’s doing to help young girls (and now boys too) feel seen, supported and safe.

It brought me back to my own experience of girlhood, confidence, fear and how much of who we become starts in those early relationships. We talk about bullying, belonging, and how trauma, when acknowledged and held, can lead to something incredibly meaningful.

Tammy’s story reminded me that being the "social butterfly" wasn’t just personality - it was protection. And watching today’s young people navigate a digital world makes this kind of work more vital than ever.

✨ In this episode:

  • Reflections on bullying, girlhood & fitting in
  • Why I became the social butterfly
  • How early exclusion shaped how I showed up in the world
  • What The Shona Project is doing and why it matters
  • How Tammy turned pain into purpose
  • The impact of social media on young people today
  • Why I’m volunteering and getting involved
  • The importance of showing girls (and boys) they’re not alone

S6 E14 - My Experience with GLP-1, Dieting at 12 & Why I Loved My Chat With Paddy Cunningham08 oct. 202500:08:40

I’ve been on a diet since I was 12 and my episode with Paddy Cunningham (@adoseofpaddy) opened up such an honest conversation around body image, weight stigma, and why health and size are not the same thing.

I also open up about my own experience starting GLP-1 medication, the surprising mental shifts I felt, and why I’m not on it right now. From childhood diets to gallbladder diagnoses and dancing in every team at school, this one’s personal. Because for so many of us, especially women, weight is never just about weight.

  • Why I loved my chat with Paddy (@adoseofpaddy)
  • My earliest memory of dieting at age 12
  • Body image, confidence, and being active at every size
  • Why I tried GLP-1 medication (and what happened next)

S6 E1 - The Importance of Making Time for Yourself: Motherhood, Grief and Finding Confidence Again – with Sinéad Kavanagh @thebeauttruth11 juil. 202500:40:29

This is one of those conversations I’ll never forget.

Sinéad Kavanagh joined me for a chat that turned into so much more. We laughed, we cried (I choked up at the end), and we covered everything from growing up in a close Irish family to navigating motherhood, cancer, grief, online life and everything in between. She shares her experience of thyroid cancer and complicated pregnancies, and how she accidentally became one of Ireland’s most relatable voices online. We talked about the pressure to follow a set path, the long road to confidence, and what it really means to live in the moment.

If you've ever felt behind in life, struggled with self-doubt, or just needed to hear someone say “me too” - I think you’ll love this one.

In this episode we talk about:

  • School, bullying and becoming “the soft one”
  • Letting go of timelines (and embracing detours)
  • How cancer changed everything and kickstarted @thebeauttruth
  • Choosing to stay home, choosing to be present
  • Finding your confidence (even if you start with none)
  • Why grief never goes away and that’s okay
