Christine has been in the beauty industry for over 31 years and she seriously has the energy of someone that is brand new to the job. Her enthusiasm for what she does is so contagious. I could have talked with her for HOURS and I wish I could have. Rewatching this one made me miss New York and all of the amazing people we met there.
She fell in love with doing hair at a very young age and after graduating high school at 16, she went to cosmetology school at @pivotpoint. She took a chance and quickly had a mentor in Holland and was soon traveling the world. She was experiencing the salon world and education as an intern, front and center. Her story is fascinating and I am so thankful for the time that I got to laugh and talk with her. I look up to the energy and love that she has for this so much. This episode is the exact energy we all need to be taking into our jobs in 2023!

In another life, Jackie and I would have been best friends. We would have spent our 20s in the city, worked on a morning show and moved to the suburbs after. Jackie did all of this, I just wish I would have been there with her. We connected instantly, mostly about being moms in our 30’s and loving emo music from the early 2000’s.
Jackie started in fashion and found her way to digital marketing in the beauty industry. She has a job that is a dream to so many people. She is creating digital content that balances professionals and consumers. She is so intelligent and an expert in her field. She has a fire for learning and being challenged in a new way with different platforms and changes in the algorithms. She shares advice on being your own brand and how to create content that matters. I love the way that she builds up her team and gives them praise and respect.

Maddie left a commission salon to go out on her own and knew that it was time when she was trying to build her own brand. She trusted her gut and knew when it was time. I love how highly Maddie speaks of the salon that she started at. It’s important to stay thankful to the people and places that helped you grow.
