Prayers for Deliverance: Forgiven30 Aug 202400:24:00

We do not call for help if we don't perceive a problem. An undetected brake problem or cancer growing secretly, and we do not go to the mechanic or doctor. Ps. 32 may be hard to hear, but it informs us of a problem we already have. We are born into sin. When we recognize our need and confess it to God, only then can we rejoice and be glad. With God there is forgiveness!

Prayers for Deliverance: How should we pray when under pressure? One might think that "Help!" would suffice. In this 5-message series, Dr. John walks through Psalms 28-32 to teach us how to pray when assailed by trouble. A call for help is a start, but there is so much more.

Prayers for Deliverance: Finding Refuge in God29 Aug 202400:24:00

Psalm 31 has the unique distinction of being quoted by both Jonah and Jesus - from the belly of a fish and the cross. It is a Psalm declaring that God is our refuge. There is no question about the quality of God's shelter. It is only a question of whether we will trust Him. Can we say today like David, "I trust in You O Lord, my times are in your hands?"

Prayers for Deliverance: How should we pray when under pressure? One might think that "Help!" would suffice. In this 5-message series, Dr. John walks through Psalms 28-32 to teach us how to pray when assailed by trouble. A call for help is a start, but there is so much more.

Psalms of Refuge: When the Foundations Are Destroyed16 Aug 202400:24:00

Since you listen to the news and participate in our society, you know that the Christian compass and moral fabric of our day are being abandoned. Truth has become flexible resulting in a famine of trust. What are we to do? Dr. John points to Psalm 12 as encouragement and hope. God, who is righteous, will preserve His righteous people. God, who is just, will judge between the right and wrong. The world cannot spin out of His grip. Believe that today.

Psalms of Refuge: Psalms of Refuge is a ten-message series focused on ten Psalms which have been described as songs of worship. In the chapters we discover songs describing the importance of the law of the Lord in the life of the believer, a celebration of the promise of the ultimate victor of the Messiah, Psalms of triumph, security, joy, confidence, wisdom and much more. Join Dr. Neufeld through this journey of refuge for the believer.

Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Look for a Unified Bible12 Apr 202400:24:00

To understand the forest, you can't go tree by tree. Trees vary in size, colour, and structure. Is the forest filled with contradictions? Of course not. We understand the whole by the particulars and the particulars by the whole. The same is true of Bible teaching. We need to understand the specifics by understanding the whole of Scripture. Dr. John presents his last criteria for good Bible teaching. Teaching you can trust rests on the inerrancy of God's Word and embraces the whole of God's truth.

Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Too often, Christians evaluate preachers and teachers without understanding the criteria by which they are evaluating. We like them, or don’t like them. So-and-so is better, but he’s not bad. What makes us draw those conclusions? Are our conclusions based on the trustworthiness of these teachings, or are they based on our own personal preferences?  In this 5-message series, Bible Teaching You Can Trust, join Back to the Bible Canada’s Dr. John Neufeld as he breaks down the characteristics of trustworthy Bible teaching, and how to spot teaching that is not focusing on the real meaning of the Scriptures. At the end of the day, the Bible is centred around the one true God of the Bible. By clinging to that truth and sitting under teaching that prioritizes God as the centre of the Bible, you are most certainly receiving Bible teaching you can trust.

Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Look for Bible Teaching11 Apr 202400:24:00

It is said that the best way to discern counterfeit currency is to be very familiar with what real currency looks like. If you know the genuine, the false is readily identified. If we are to recognize Bible teaching that is false or imbalanced, we need to be personally familiar with the Scriptures. Today Dr. John calls us to a personal commitment of Bible reading and study of the Scriptures. If we do not have a first-hand taste of the Bible, we can be fed anything.

Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Look for Truth Centeredness10 Apr 202400:24:00

Today’s society seems to be driven by polls. Decisions and direction are determined by the voice of the majority. Polls set political agenda, marketing strategy and community development. But polls must not determine Biblical teaching. Dr. John reminds us that Bible teaching tied to the voice of a generation will become dated. The truth of God's Word is the only sure and reliable guide for life and eternity.

Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Too often, Christians evaluate preachers and teachers without understanding the criteria by which they are evaluating. We like them, or don’t like them. Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Look for Grace Centeredness09 Apr 202400:24:00

Some approach the Bible like a set of instructions for life, emphasizing what we should do. We ought to obey the 10 commandments, slay the Goliaths of our life and remain as faithful as Daniel. Their instruction focuses on our efforts and abilities. But the Bible is about God's grace rather than our efforts. Dr. John reminds us that good Bible teaching is about the actions of God, not the efforts of humanity.

Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Too often, Christians evaluate preachers and teachers without understanding the criteria by which they are evaluating. We like them, or don’t like them. Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Look for God Centeredness08 Apr 202400:24:00

If a love letter is all about the thoughts and feelings of the author, you may wonder if the letter is misguided. Shouldn't the letter be about the beloved? Much of today's Bible teaching is like that. Sermons are filled with our own concerns and problems. But shouldn't Bible teaching be about God? Today Dr. John reminds us that Bible teaching you can trust keeps God center stage. The Bible is not a "How to?" manual, but a testament to His glory.

Bible Teaching You Can Trust: Too often, Christians evaluate preachers and teachers without understanding the criteria by which they are evaluating. We like them, or don’t like them.
