Loosen your belts, pour something strong, and prepare for some deeply questionable opinions… because The B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast is wrapping up Season 1 the only way we know how, by talking absolute nonsense for an extended period of time.
After 22 films, countless rants, and more than a few “what did we just watch?” moments, Duncan & The Baz sit down to reflect on the chaos, the carnage, and the unexpected brilliance of their maiden voyage through the world of B-cinema.
This isn’t just a recap… it’s a full-blown debrief.
From how the podcast was born (somewhere between insomnia and a desire to drink with your buddy), to how the season somehow held together despite everything thrown at it, we take a look behind the curtain at what made Season 1 tick… and some how didn’t fall apart.
And yes… Baz has thoughts. Many, many thoughts.
It’s reflective. It’s unfiltered. It’s dangerously close to going off the rails at all times. Naturally… we wouldn’t have it any other way.

In This Episode:
How The B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast actually started and our surprise it hasn’t stopped
Baz’s post-season verdict: has he been converted to B-movies… or traumatised for life?
Duncan recaps/justify 22 episodes of cinematic chaos
The moments that nearly broke us… and the ones that weirdly impressed us
Top 5 Best & Worst of Season 1:
Because no season wrap-up would be complete without some bold claims and inevitable disagreements…how close are our lists actually?
Expect arguments. Expect contradictions. Expect at least one of these picks to cause outrage as Duncan & The Baz dig into how Season 1 evolved from a simple idea into a weekly descent into madness, why some films surprised them in the best ways, and how others… well… tested their will to continue.
They also tackle the big question:
Is Baz now a B-movie believer… or has this entire experience just lowered his standards permanently?
---
Season 2 Tease – Coming July 2026
Just when you thought it was safe…We’re coming back.
Season 2 is already shaping up to be bigger, weirder, and possibly even more unhinged, with a fresh batch of cult classics, notorious disasters, and hidden gems waiting to be discovered (or endured).
Expect a mix of:
More creature features that absolutely ignore physics
Sci-fi that asks big questions… and answers none of them
Action films where explosions replace logic
And at least one film that makes Zardoz look restrained
---
A Sneak Peek at What’s Coming:
Birdemic: Shock and Terror (2010) – Because apparently we didn’t suffer enough the first time.
Samurai Cop (1991) – A law enforcement masterclass in wigs, explosions, and absolute nonsense.
Kingdom of the Spiders (1977) – Nature strikes back… with an unreasonable number of legs.
Surf Nazis Must Die (1987) – Yes, that’s the title. No, it doesn’t get less ridiculous.
The Kindred (1987) – Science, secrets, and something deeply unpleasant in the basement.
The Stuff (1985) – It’s back… and somehow still looks deliciously suspicious.
---
And that’s just the beginning. Is it sensible? No. Is it necessary? Also no. Are we doing it anyway? Absolutely.
Because sometimes the best discoveries come from the films you were never supposed to take seriously.
So raise a glass to Season 1, brace yourself for what’s next, and remember… if a movie looks like a bad idea… it’s probably perfect for this podcast.
Until next time, stay bold, stay bizarre, and never trust a film that claims to be “so bad it’s good”… because here at B-Movie Blitzkrieg the bizarre meets the brilliant one B-Movie at a time.

B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast – Episode 20
Q: The Winged Serpent (1982)
Lock your windows, avoid tall buildings, and maybe don’t look up… because The B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast is closing out Season 1 with a screeching, flapping, flesh-eating bang.
This week, Duncan & The Baz take on the gloriously scrappy creature feature Q: The Winged Serpent (1982), a film that dares to ask the important question: what if an ancient Aztec sky god decided to set up shop on the Chrysler Building and start snacking on New Yorkers?
Directed by cult legend Larry Cohen, this low-budget chaos machine delivers ritual sacrifices, police incompetence, and a stop-motion monster that somehow looks both ridiculous and genuinely threatening… depending on the angle (and your tolerance for 80s effects).
At the centre of it all is Michael Moriarty, giving a performance so unhinged it feels like it might derail the film at any moment… and yet somehow elevates it into something truly 'special'.
It’s gritty. It’s bizarre. It’s peak “New York is falling apart” cinema. Naturally… we’re ending the season with it.
---
In This Episode:
Is Q a hidden gem of creature horror or just a beautifully chaotic mess?
Duncan tries to explain his love of stop motion.
The Baz questions everything … Duncan answers nothing.
Did we just learn that the Baz was a Kung-Fu fan?

Episode 19: Zardoz (1974) – The Gun Is Good, The Nappy Is Eternal
Saison 1 · Épisode 19

B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast – Episode 19
Zardoz (1974)
Strap on your bandoliers, adjust your red nappy, and prepare for maximum philosophical confusion… The B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast is diving headfirst into the wonderfully unhinged world of Zardoz.
This week, Duncan & The Baz attempt to unpack one of the most gloriously baffling cult films ever committed to celluloid. Directed by John Boorman and starring a moustachioed Sean Connery who clearly lost a bet with his agent, Zardoz delivers floating stone heads, post-apocalyptic weirdness, and philosophical musings that may or may not make sense depending on how much wine you've had.
Set in a strange future where brutal “Brutals” serve an elite class of immortal intellectuals known as the Eternals, Connery’s Exterminator Zed discovers that the giant flying god-head dispensing guns and wisdom might not be quite what it seems. What follows is a psychedelic collision of sci-fi, social commentary, and wardrobe decisions that humanity was not prepared for.
It’s confusing. It’s pretentious. It’s deeply weird. Naturally… we love it…or at least one of us does.
---
In This Episode:
Is Zardoz a misunderstood sci-fi masterpiece or just completely off its rocker?
The Baz defends the power of cock mastery
Duncan attempts (and possibly fails) why he loves this movie.
Sean Connery’s is in this movie? How the hell did that happen?

Episode 18: The Warriors - Can You Dig It? Neon Gangs & Mythic Mayhem

B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast – Episode 18
The Warriors (1979)
Clink your bottles, lace up your Converse, and watch out for roller skates — The B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast is hitting the mean streets of New York with The Warriors. This week, Duncan & The Baz run the gauntlet through Walter Hill’s neon-drenched, mythic vision of urban chaos, where gangs dress like Halloween never ended and every subway stop is a potential boss fight.Loosely inspired by The Anabasis (yes, really), this cult classic follows the wrongly accused Warriors as they battle their way home across a hostile city after a citywide gang summit goes catastrophically wrong. With face paint, baseball bats, and one of the most iconic villains in cult cinema history, this is street-level fantasy masquerading as a grindhouse thriller...and we absolutely love it.
---
In This Episode:
Is The Warriors a timeless classic?
The Baz is all about full bush, no bras and bitch'n soundtracks.
Shocking subway deaths.
Duncan talks Cyrus...visionary leader or guy who absolutely needed better security?
---
Top 5 Rad/Sad & Bad Moments:
Cyrus’ “Can You Dig It?” speech...electrifying, prophetic, and instantly fatal.
Park benches...handcuffs...police handbreak turns...nuff said.
Leather vests and no tops underneath...if only we had the figure to pull that look off?!
The DJ’s omniscient radio narration...somehow everywhere, always vibing.
Episode 17: Night of the Comet - Mall Rats, Mutants & End-of-the-World Chic
Saison 1 · Épisode 17
vendredi 13 février 2026 • Durée 29:30
B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast – Episode 17
Night of the Comet (1984)
Grab your Uzis, tease that ’80s hair, and make a run for the nearest shopping mall…The B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast is staring down the apocalypse with Night of the Comet (1984).
This week, Duncan & The Baz cruise into a synth-soaked, neon-lit wasteland where most of humanity has been vaporised by a cosmic light show… and the survivors are mostly valley girls, maniacs, and mad scientists.
Directed by Thom Eberhardt, this cult classic blends sci-fi, horror, and mall-punk comedy into a surprisingly charming end-of-days romp. Catherine Mary Stewart and Kelli Maroney shine as Regina and Samantha, two sisters who dodge comet-induced extinction thanks to the protective power of steel shipping containers (science!).
What follows is a cross-country joyride through empty cities, zombie-adjacent weirdos, automatic weapons, and the eternal question: if the world ends… who gets the shopping mall?
Roll initiative, barricade the doors, and for the love of all that is holy… pick up a phone. This week, The B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast is trapped in a concrete maze with Shakma (1990)…the killer-baboon horror-thriller that stretches a razor-thin premise to breaking point and then keeps going for another 20 minutes just to spite you.
Duncan & The Baz descend into an underground medical facility where a group of grad students decide that the best place to play a live-action Dungeons & Dragons-style game is…a building full of lethal experiments and fully functioning telephones they absolutely refuse to use. Directed by Hugh Parks and Tom Logan, Shakma pits our would-be heroes against an enraged baboon hopped up on experimental drugs, military-grade aggression, and pure narrative convenience.
The setup is fun. The baboon is genuinely intimidating. But dear god…the decision-making. From endless running down identical corridors to ignoring obvious escape routes, this is one of those films where the monster might not even be the biggest threat…human stupidity is.
Is it an underrated oddity with something to say, or just another stitched-together curiosity from the grindhouse operating table?
---
In This Episode:
Why no one thinks to call for help despite being surrounded by phones?
The Baz’s growing frustration as the runtime refuses to end.
Duncan’s attempts to explain 100 men vs a gorilla to Baz.
Whether Shakma is a solid creature feature buried under bad choices and padding.
Sharpen your scalpels and warm up the thunder sound effects… The B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast is cracking open the slab for Blackenstein (1973) the blaxploitation-flavoured Frankenstein riff that dares to ask: what if Mary Shelley, Vietnam War trauma, and disco-era exploitation cinema all collided at once?
This week, Duncan & The Baz descend into a world of mad doctors, revenge-fuelled monsters, and a script that seems to have been reanimated from at least three different drafts.
Directed by William A. Levey and produced by low-budget legend David F. Friedman, Blackenstein tells the tragic tale of Eddie Turner, a wounded Vietnam vet rebuilt by experimental “science”… and promptly turned into a lumbering agent of rage with a very loose grip on narrative logic.
There’s social commentary buried somewhere under the monster makeup, mixed with gothic horror tropes, soap-opera melodrama, and some truly baffling character decisions.
Is it an underrated oddity with something to say, or just another stitched-together curiosity from the grindhouse operating table?
---
In This Episode:
Blaxploitation meets Frankenstein…bold fusion or tonal tug-of-war?
The Baz grapples with the racial eithics or lack-there-of of the filmmakers
DNA right…but hybrid animal DNA?…what in the Moreau is going on here?
Bad attempts to locate the film’s plot against it’s runtime… with mixed results.
Episode 14: Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers - Rack to the Future: Cleavage & Chainsaws
Saison 1 · Épisode 14
vendredi 2 janvier 2026 • Durée 29:55
B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast – Episode 14
Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988)
Fire up your petrol-powered perms and guard your scalp, because this week on the B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast, Duncan & The Baz are hacking their way through the neon-soaked fever nightmare that is Hollywood Chainsaw Hookers (1988)… the only film bold enough to mix cults, call girls, chainsaws, and an inexplicably sweaty 80s detective with the emotional range of a damp bar mat.
This isn’t just sleaze. It’s a glitter-splattered, blood-spritzed love letter to grindhouse excess where every problem can be solved with a chainsaw duel and a vaguely offended-looking customer service manager. Featuring Gunnar Hansen (yes, that Leatherface) and enough hairspray to punch a hole in the ozone, this movie asks the ultimate question:
“What if the Texas Chainsaw Massacre had a dress code and a loyalty card?”The answer: absolute chaos.
---
In This Episode:
We bravely pursue the questions no self-respecting film scholar would touch with a 10-foot power tool:
Did Gunnar Hansen's agent get a bonus for chainsaw related script finds?
How many chainsaws is too many chainsaws? (Trick question: there is no limit.)
There is soo much body oil...way this the inspiration for the Diddy Party?
Who funds this cult?
Bonus Christmas Episode 2025: The Gingerdead Man – Silent Fright, Deadly Delight & Yuletide Bites
Deck the halls and hide the rolling pins, because this festive instalment of the B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast sees Duncan & The Baz unwrapping the sugary terror of The Gingerdead Man (2005)… the only yuletide classic where a serial killer’s soul is baked into a gingerbread cookie and voiced by a cackling Gary Busey on a Christmas caffeine bender.
This isn’t just a holiday horror. It’s a full-throttle sugar rush of schlock, sleaze, and seasonal spite. With sentient baked goods, questionable acting choices, and a body count that would make Mrs Claus reconsider her life choices, The Gingerdead Man is the kind of film that asks, “What if your festive treat hated you… personally?”
The answer: everyone dies, probably near a mixing bowl.
---
In This Episode:
We confront the queries no pastry chef, exorcist, or mall Santa ever dared to ask:
Did the film makers actually think this was a good idea?
Why does the old baker carry a flick knife to a diner?
How big is the health and safety manual for that walk-in oven?
How long is a 1hr 15min movie is the opening & closing credits are about 10mins each?
Is this a Christmas horror movie at all if there isn't any music, decoration or mention of Christmas at all?
Inflate your expectations and check your pressure gauges, because this week on the B-Movie Blitzkrieg Podcast, Duncan & The Baz skid violently into the absurdist asphalt apocalypse of Rubber (2010), the only film where a sentient tyre, an on-site audience with binoculars, a dead turkey, and a disgruntled sheriff all exist in a universe held together solely by the power of “no reason.”
This isn’t just a killer object movie...it’s a meta-narrative wrapped in a surrealist desert picnic and sprinkled with enough nihilism to make Camus put down his cigarette and go, “Alright lads, calm down.” With our rubbery anti-hero rolling from one explosive encounter to the next, Rubber achieves the rare feat of being both completely ridiculous and somehow… philosophically chewy.
---
In This Episode:
We tackle the burning questions no mechanic, philosopher, or desert ranger ever thought to ask:
Is Robert the Tyre the most emotionally developed character in the movie?
Why is there an audience watching the movie inside the movie?
Are you watching this movie or is this movie watching you?
And seriously… what was the turkey for?
---
Top 5 Rad/Sad & Bad Moments:
The moment our rubbery renegade learns he can make heads explode just by concentrating really, really hard. Inspirational, in a deeply concerning way.
A group of film-within-a-film viewers slowly starving in the desert while offering commentary nobody asked for but we all needed.
The reveal of Quetzalcoatl (or “Q” to Scottish people with Scottish tongues)...equal parts majestic and...someone definitely animated this in their garage.
Summoned by a Serial Killer or happy accident? You decide!
Why are only a small group of cops hunting this winged beast?
Do guns solve all crisis moments?
That ending… because nothing says closure like “we’ll deal with that later.”
Duncan & The Baz dig into why Q: The Winged Serpent punches well above its weight, how it captures a grimy, paranoid version of 1980s New York, and why sometimes a film’s limitations are exactly what make it memorable.
Is it polished? Not even slightly.
Is it coherent? Debatable.
Is it a perfect Season 1 finale? Absolutely.
Because sometimes the best B-Movies aren’t the slickest or the smartest… they’re the ones held together with ambition, madness, and just enough practical effects to make you believe a giant sky lizard might actually be nesting above Manhattan.
---
So keep your eyes on the skyline, avoid suspicious chanting on rooftops, and remember… if something massive flies overhead… it’s probably already too late.
Until next time, stay bold, stay bizarre, and never trust a city that doesn’t notice a giant monster living above it… because here at B-Movie Blitzkrieg the bizarre meets the brilliant one B-Movie at a time.

The Eternals’ … on a scale of 1 - 10…how much does Baz actually hate them?
Floating heads and vacuum packed sex dolls
Duncan & The Baz dig into how Zardoz swings wildly between high-concept philosophy and absolute madness, why the film feels like a science-fiction fever dream, and how Sean Connery somehow commits 100% to every bizarre moment.
Is it pretentious? Yes.
Is it ridiculous? Also yes.
Is it unforgettable cult cinema? Absolutely.
Because sometimes the best B-movies aren’t the ones that make perfect sense… they’re the ones that leave you staring at the screen wondering what just happened.
---
So polish your floating god head, question the nature of immortality, and remember… if a giant stone face starts throwing guns at you… things have probably gone very wrong.

Season Finale IncomingEpisode 20 drops Thursday, 27th March
For the Season One finale, Duncan & The Baz head to 1980s New York to tackle rooftop cultists, stop-motion monsters, and one extremely angry flying reptile in Q: The Winged Serpent.
Expect ancient Aztec gods, questionable police work, and Michael Moriarty absolutely losing his mind in the best possible way. Because nothing says season finale quite like a giant monster nesting on the Chrysler Building.

The end of this movie…spoiler alert…Baz hates it.
We dig into why Night of the Comet has endured as a cult favourite…equal parts goofy, grim, and weirdly optimistic…and whether it’s secretly one of the most fun apocalypse movies ever made. It’s got heart, it’s got lasers, and it’s got a serious beef with authority figures.

War paint on, bottles clinking…next time we hit the streets of New York with The Warriors (1979). Expect gangs in baseball gear, iconic synth beats, mythic urban mayhem, and one of the greatest midnight-movie vibes ever committed to film.
So remember… when the night comes down, you’d better be ready to run.
A finale that arrives long after the audience has mentally checked out.
The overwhelming sense that this could’ve been a tight 80 minutes… but absolutely isn’t.
We dig into whether Shakma earns cult status as a mean-spirited creature movie, or if it’s a cautionary tale about editing, pacing, and what happens when nobody in a script has common sense.
There’s fun to be had here…but it’s buried under repetition, baffling logic, and a runtime that feels like it’s rolling critical failures on every turn.
