Laura adds to Camille's body of work on Neptune & the Black condition. This episode is dedicated to Neptune - the God and Goddess of the sea, of dreams, and of imagination. Laura’s hypothesis: Neptune is the illusion and belief that White is superior; when in reality, White People don’t truly believe this. Whiteness is deception and theft. You do not steal from People of the Global Majority if they are culturally and economically poor. Neptune, depending on the natal position or by transit, can inflate someone’s ideal of themselves. Throughout history, a group of people subjugated another group by casting a veil over them to make them believe they are less than. In reimagining Neptune, Neptune is seen as a malefic through the cis-hetero patriarchal white supremacist lens because Neptune is anti-capitalist. A Neptune transit can awaken someone to their true essence and in turn, reclaim their sovereignty and agency.

She is also a communications leader, organizational strategy consultant, and journalist who has dedicated her professional life to human rights and environmental advocacy. As Head of Creative & Editorial at the Rainforest Alliance, she directed a multimedia team of writers, videographers, and graphic designers. Earlier in her career, she served as the editor of Amnesty International USA’s human rights quarterly that featured the work of award-winning journalists and documentary photographers (circulation 300,000). She began her storytelling career as a newspaper reporter, magazine editor, and on-air correspondent for nationally syndicated public radio programs. Through her consulting practice, Next Wave, she develops tailored impact strategies (social, environmental, narrative), facilitates organizational and team retreats, and provides mindfulness-based leadership coaching to individuals. Jungwon currently serves as the board chair of Peace Is Loud, a nonprofit organization that builds narrative impact in the documentary film sector, and a board member of the Fund for Public Health NYC, which works to build racial and socioeconomic equity in public health outcomes. She did her undergraduate and graduate studies (B.A. Philosophy, dual M.J./M.A. program in Journalism and East Asian Studies) at the University of California, Berkeley, where she was awarded a Fulbright Fellowship in support of her graduate research on self-censorship in the Hong Kong news media, a Foreign Language Area Fellowship, and a Korea Foundation Fellowship. It was a demure August, mercury was retrograde, the DNC began on the Full Moon in Aquarius, and the Leo placements were having a rough time. We then do a little forecasting for the month of September which continues with Virgo Season. We have two planets in dignity, Venus in Libra and Mercury in Virgo. I would take advantage of that until the last week of September. Mid-month, we officially find ourselves in eclipse season and when the sun ingresses in the sign of Libra, it's the Equinox! Hello beautiful souls and thank you for being here. I am a Western tropical astrologer and I use the whole sign house system. I use astrology as a liberatory tool. I believe we are in a critical time right now when collectively, we feel a sense of urgency to know who we are and be in alignment with our purpose. I hope to be your monthly guide to the cosmos and translator of the stars. We begin this episode by recapping July, Trump assassination attempt! Joe Biden steps down and Kamala Harris is on the ticket! We then do a little forecasting for the month of August which continues with Leo Season. Mercury stations retrograde in the signs of Virgo & Leo and Virgo Season commences. I’m not going to lie, August is full of challenging aspects like the squares and oppositions but I believe challenging aspects are when our souls thrive because ultimately, our souls want to grow. In this episode, I talk about the transition from Pluto in the sign of Capricorn into the sign of Aquarius. Astrology is the study of cycles and patterns, so the best way for us to predict what might happen when Pluto is in the sign of Aquarius is to look back at what happened the last time in our history when Pluto was in Aquarius. This time was known as the Age of Revolution because concurrent revolutions were happening all over the world. Happy New Year! In this episode, I go through the planetary transits of January 2024. Some major highlights are, Mercury goes direct and Pluto enters the sign of Aquarius. 2024 is going to be a transitional year when all the outer planets, Uranus, Neptune, and Pluto are finishing up their journeys before moving into new signs in 2025. Since the outer planets are collective, this is a shift in our collective consciousness. The North Node will still be in Aries, which signifies that the change begins with yourself.
