The sun is warm but there is just enough wind to keep you cool. Seagulls are soaring into the setting sun, the waves come and crash into the warm sand singing their soothing songs… Then something happens, thunders in your head. Your brain takes the control over your senses. Time freezes, a warm light seems to shine deep into your consciousness. It grows and grows, it overwhelming and suddenly, you are back on the shore with wet feet, and a lost gaze. Your brain just pooped an idea, it’s the one that’ll make your Etsy like a store on blackfriday. Just to be sure you Google your idea and … Someone makes a similar product. What do you do ? Voicemails: Thomas TSG Makes Tomas has some big news and is looking for advice from the guys.
Joseph Taylor All right my questions for Jeff I just want to know a little bit more about how you feel about that onefinite CNC elite series I really like that close loop stepper motor and I just want to know what you think about it personally and have you considered it very useful in the shop or is it kind of just added extra.
Tim Meighan I have a glowforge and I’ve been making money by selling cutting boards local. I’m not using the laser to it’s potential and it seems like a waste. Shipping to me is so intimidating that it’s keeping me from starting to sell on Etsy or other platforms. I don’t have anything I need to ship except for maybe plastic wrap. But I do know about pirate ship now because of Dan. What do I need to start selling cutting boards and other small things And how to I break this f-ing barrier to get started.

What is your recommendation on hauling used tools from sellers to your house? Justin Campfire Woodworks I had an issue with a client recently and it turned out that I had to cut all ties with the client. What are some red flags to look out for? Thomas TSG Makes So apparently the theme for tonight podcast is small shop and luckily I have something like a car and a quater garage as a shop. Or maybe a car and a motor cycle. It’s small. And I have a bunch of tool, everything is on wheels including a big lathe, planer table saw and my workbench. It’s quite long 160 cm by 60 cm and lately I have been pondering if I. Should cut it in half, glue it back together on the long side and stick my table saw to it so it can be a outfeed table too. I know most woodworker want an outfeed table but it also mean I’ll have a huge block to move around while right know it’s 2 smaller module. What do you think ? Bigger block with the table saw or keep it apart Also, Pete, where is your new YouTube video ? I ask just it case Kimani forgot to do so ! It shoots plastic nails that the cnc can plow thru and you won’t f*** up your sometimes expensive bits. When you’re ready to pull off your material, they’ll pull right off or snap off clean. If they need any cleanup just hit it with an offcut or a chisel and it’s like nothings there. Gas nailers are pretty common in construction, I’ve seen them mostly as framing nailers. To us, the value the three of you bring to our shop is so disgustingly beyond the small price of being a VIP member. On a icky note, since there is much conversation about shop fires on AWP right now we felt it timely to come out of our hole and tell you we lost our home and our hobby wood shop to fire in September, ultimately it was ruled, by our insurance adjustor & the fire marshal to be a rechargeable battery, and it was plugged in to a surge protector that seems to have failed. I can't say the name of the battery but I will say that our adjuster let us know that he'd been to 10 fires in our state last year and 6/10 were a rechargeable battery in a garage. The shop fire was put out, the home seemed smoke damaged when we left at 3 AM. At 5 AM we were alerted to the news that the fire was still smoldering in the attic and took out the rest of our home. We lost everything, if it wasn't fire damage it was water damage. We've moved to a commercial spot and officially made ourselves a small Husband & wife business. We have some great young apprentices and are recovering the loss surprisingly well. We are incredibly busy, and we are incredibly grateful to still be around. If you won't mind sharing our, "lesson learned" from this wildly difficult time in our lives - for the love of our maker family- put your recharging batteries on a surge protecting power strip and turn the power strip off before you leave your shop at the end of each work day. Thank you again for the value & professionalism you've added to our lives. Max & I would like to challenge all AWP listeners, and our maker community to become VIP members and give back a bit of the good fortune AWP puts out into our worlds. Thanks Again, Mindie Kuhns Stubby K Studio Voicemails: Patrick Gensel Steve, is there something in the maker world that you’re itching to jump into or learn for your own enjoyment?
