And Another Thing With Dave, by Dave Smith

Host: David Smith Guest: Spirited Journey

In this engaging episode, David Smith and Spirited Journey explore critical questions around ideological biases within social psychology, parental rights, and the sensitive topic of gender identity in youth. They unpack a recent study investigating political leanings and perceived hostility within social personality psychology, shedding light on how these biases might influence research and social narratives.

The conversation then turns to the complex and often controversial issue of schools managing gender identity matters without parental involvement. They discuss the ethical dilemmas surrounding withholding information from parents, the risks of medical interventions such as puberty blockers, and the mental health challenges underlying gender dysphoria. And Another Thing With Dave, by Dave Smith

In this episode of And Another Thing With Dave, the conversation dives headfirst into the disillusionment with American politics. Dave and his guest explore the frustrating similarities between Republicans and Democrats, the corporatization of government, and the myth that voters are being offered a real choice.

Key Topics Covered:

• False Dichotomy of U.S. Politics Both Trump and Biden are portrayed as different sides of the same corrupt coin—puppets of corporate interests and the military-industrial complex.

• Government Doesn’t Work for the People The hosts argue that the government has evolved to serve the elite, not the citizens, with corporations like BlackRock and Vanguard pulling the strings.

• Media Manipulation and Manufactured Consent Media outlets are criticized for pushing divisive narratives while ignoring the bipartisan consensus on war, corporate welfare, and censorship.

• Trump’s Theater and the Real Agenda Trump’s showmanship is discussed as a distraction—masking his alignment with the establishment on key issues like deregulation and tax breaks for the rich.

• Biden’s Failures and Democratic Complicity Biden is called out for backtracking on promises, like canceling student loan debt and protecting abortion rights, and for enabling war and surveillance just as much as Republicans.

• Where’s the Real Change? The hosts discuss how grassroots movements and third-party candidates are systematically suppressed, keeping the population trapped in a binary that benefits the elite.

"They don't care which puppet we vote for, as long as we keep playing their game."

And Another Thing With Dave, by David Smith

In this explosive solo episode, host David Smith brings listeners an urgent report sparked by a jaw-dropping clip from the World Economic Forum. After stumbling upon a chilling Instagram post shared by @chad.d.bell, Dave reacts in real time to a speech by a woman casually discussing implanting false memories and manipulating pain for use in law enforcement.

Yes, you read that right.

The woman, speaking to a global audience at the WEF, describes research into planting criminal memories into innocent people’s minds and exploring pain as an electrical circuit that could be induced and weaponized for coercion. Dave lets the clip play, then breaks it down section by section—unpacking its disturbing implications for democracy, civil liberties, and the potential abuse of neuroscience by state actors.

From comparing it to dystopian sci-fi, to calling out the echoes of dark historical chapters, Dave pulls no punches. This is not just a podcast episode—it’s a call to wake up and pay attention to what’s being said out loud, in the open, and on global stages.

Host: David Smith
Guest: Spirited Journey

In this introspective and energizing episode, Dave and returning guest Spirited Journey dive into the emerging renaissance in psychology—fueled by the return of serious studies on psychedelics like LSD, psilocybin, and ketamine. The duo explores how these substances are not only reshaping our understanding of mental health, but also how ancient and alternative methods like holotropic breathwork may hold just as much power for healing and transformation.

Spirited Journey shares personal stories of out-of-body experiences through breathwork, inspired by Dr. Stanislav Grof’s techniques. The conversation evolves into a powerful reflection on vulnerability, spiritual experiences, and how science is beginning to catch up to what shamans and spiritual healers have practiced for millennia.

Listeners chime in with messages on safe spaces, gender identity, and how to best support marginalized communities while still advocating for human rights universally. Spirited also gives a shoutout to her freelance branding and website work, including her project "YouTube Channel in a Box"—designed to empower content creators with full branding packages.

And Another Thing With Dave, by David Smith

Host: David Smith
Guest: Spirited Journey
Episode Title: #436 Ideology in Psychology, Parental Rights, and the Limits of Institutional Power

In this powerful and intellectually charged episode, David Smith and Spirited Journey explore the intersection of politics, mental health, gender identity, and institutional authority through the lens of a major study: Political Diversity in Social and Personality Psychology by Joel Inbar and Joris Lammers.

The conversation opens with a breakdown of the study’s core questions:

1. How left-leaning are social and personality psychologists?

2. Do they accurately perceive the political leanings of their colleagues?

3. Is there a hostile climate or discrimination against conservatives in the field?

David and Spirited Journey reflect on how these ideological imbalances can shape what research gets funded, what ideas are allowed to flourish, and who is deemed credible in the conversation around gender identity and mental health. They highlight that ideological bias in psychology isn’t just an academic concern—it’s impacting real-world policy and shaping narratives in schools, healthcare, and media.

The discussion is elevated by listener messages, including questions about abuse, acceptance, and how to balance protecting vulnerable youth with maintaining institutional accountability. Real-life case studies, including disturbing stories of early medical interventions gone wrong, ground the conversation in hard-hitting truth.

And Another Thing With Dave, by Dave Smith

Host: David Smith
Guest: Spirited Journey

In this compelling follow-up conversation, David Smith and Spirited Journey tackle the layered and controversial issues surrounding gender identity, medical ethics, and parental involvement. The episode explores the real-world implications of schools using and withholding students' preferred pronouns from parents, and how that might relate to a broader “slippery slope” involving medical decisions like puberty blockers.

The conversation draws parallels with long-standing debates, such as minors accessing birth control without parental consent. However, as David and Spirited Journey emphasize, the stakes are arguably higher when it comes to irreversible medical interventions. They critique the lack of long-term studies on puberty blockers and challenge the idea that these treatments are always “completely reversible.”

Listener messages add depth and nuance, offering perspectives on conversion therapy, parental roles, and the consequences of institutional overreach. One listener raises a poignant scenario involving interracial relationships and parental prejudice, asking where schools should draw the line in protecting or informing parents.

David and Spirited Journey also dive into the politics of academia, referencing research showing open discrimination against conservatives in psychology, and how ideological bias may shape the type of research that gets funded and published. The episode closes with case studies illustrating the real-world consequences of medical decisions made too early, too quickly, and possibly under pressure from societal norms.

And Another Thing With Dave, by Dave Smith

In This Episode:  trigger warning

Guest: Cunty Mc Shitballs

Critique of Government Overspending and Taxes: The conversation touches on government spending, using the example of state-funded searches for official state pastries as a symbol of wasteful spending. This leads to a broader discussion about income tax, with one host advocating for its elimination in favor of a sales tax. The arguments center around the idea that income tax penalizes legal work and encourages black market activity, while property tax is seen as unfair and redundant.

Criticism of the Education System: The hosts discuss the state of the education system, particularly the disparity between schools in wealthier and poorer neighborhoods. They criticize the curriculum and suggest that basic supplies should be provided to all students. There's also a brief mention of the debate around gender identity in schools, with one host expressing strong opposition to discussions of pronouns and gender identity in the classroom.

Discussion of Changing Social Norms and "Crazy" Trends: The conversation shifts to a critique of what the hosts perceive as rapidly changing social norms, using examples like the increasing number of recognized genders and the focus on DEI (Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion) and LGBTQ+ issues. They express skepticism about these trends, suggesting they distract from more pressing issues like mental health. They also make comparisons to seemingly forgotten issues like childhood obesity and various diseases, implying that these problems haven't been solved but simply aren't being discussed as much.

Distraction and Misdirection: The hosts discuss how certain issues, like drunk driving, are heavily emphasized while other, potentially more dangerous behaviors, like texting while driving, receive less attention. They mention a study suggesting that women are more biologically predisposed to being distracted by their phones.

Critique of Political Figures and Scandals: The discussion moves to criticisms of various political figures, including comments about previous administrations, and the current Vice President, including an anecdote about cocaine possibly being found in the White House. This leads to a discussion of past presidential scandals and perceived double standards in media coverage. They also discuss specific events from recent memory relating to a certain political figure.

Conspiracy Theories and Speculation: The episode touches upon conspiracy theories, including a theory that a particular high profile individual was knowingly involved in a political set up. They speculate about potential future legal trouble for a certain person due to past actions connected to a prior administration. There's also mention of “murder hornets” and how their supposed arrival was hyped but ultimately

In summary, this podcast episode is a wide-ranging critique of government spending, the education system, changing social norms, political figures, and media coverage. There’s a strong current of skepticism toward mainstream narratives and a tendency toward conspiracy theories and speculation

In This Episode:  trigger warning

Guest: Cunty Mc Shitballs

This podcast excerpt covers a range of topics, loosely connected by themes of government corruption, hypocrisy, and public perception of political figures. Here's a summary:

US Government Interference in Foreign Affairs: The conversation begins with a discussion of US government involvement in overthrowing foreign leaders, citing John Perkins' book Confessions of an Economic Hitman and the estimated 83 instances of such intervention. This leads to a critique of the US criticizing other countries for election interference.

Theories about Putin and World Politics: A listener message praising Putin prompts a discussion about whether he is fighting against a "new world order." The hosts also mention the alleged connections between US-backed rebels in Syria and terrorist organizations like Al-Qaeda and ISIS, raising questions about geopolitical alliances.

A "Gold Coin" Incident and Speculation: The hosts discuss a video of senators giving gold coins to a high-ranking official during a certification event, fueling speculation about its meaning and implications. The conversation connects this to the individual's lack of legal trouble compared to others who worked with a former president.

Critique of Career Politicians and Their Actions: The discussion critiques career politicians who prioritize their own interests over the needs of the American people. This evolves into criticism of how a particular individual became the leader of their political party.

Critique of Identity Politics: The hosts criticize the emphasis on identity politics, arguing that policy and qualifications should be prioritized over demographic characteristics. They mention specific female political figures they would support based on their policies, while criticizing another based on what they perceive as a lack of substance and alleged personal scandals.

Discussion of Double Standards: The conversation addresses perceived double standards in how personal scandals are treated depending on the political affiliation of those involved, referencing past scandals involving various political figures.

In essence, the podcast episode connects US foreign policy history with contemporary political discussions, offering critiques of government intervention, established political figures, and certain aspects of modern political discourse. There's a strong emphasis on what the hosts perceive as hypocrisy and a desire for more authentic and effective leadership. The conversation also includes crude humor and potentially offensive language.

In This Episode:  trigger warning

Guest: Cunty Mc Shitballs

This podcast excerpt centers around a recent shooting incident involving a CEO and branches into discussions of corporate greed, hypocrisy within organized religion, censorship, and the importance of allowing diverse perspectives.

Here's a breakdown:

Initial Discussion of a Shooting Incident: The episode begins with a discussion of a recent shooting of a CEO. The hosts debate whether the event is a sign of societal breakdown ("lizard brain" taking over) or a potential catalyst for change, referencing the Batman narrative as a metaphor for societal upheaval.

Critique of Online Hate and Misinformation: The host shares a personal experience of receiving a hateful and contextless online message, leading to a discussion about the prevalence of online negativity and the misuse of terms like "Zionist."

Moral Ambiguity of Violence: The conversation explores the moral complexities surrounding the shooting. While acknowledging that promoting violence is wrong, the hosts also discuss the hypocrisy of those who condemn this specific act while supporting other forms of killing, such as the death penalty or actions taken by the government.

Critique of For-Profit Healthcare: The discussion shifts to a critique of for-profit healthcare, arguing that it incentivizes denying care for financial gain, which the hosts equate to a form of "murder." They advocate for healthcare, housing, and food as human rights.

Hypocrisy Within Organized Religion: The hosts discuss hypocrisy within organized religion, particularly within some churches that have become more like exclusive clubs than places of genuine spiritual connection.

The Importance of Uncensored Information: The conversation emphasizes the importance of access to diverse perspectives and uncensored information. The hosts argue that forcing a single narrative prevents people from forming their own informed opinions and understanding the "objective truth." They give an example of a recent event where they believe information is being suppressed.

Distrust of Established Narratives: The hosts express distrust of established narratives and suggest that there are always multiple sides to every story. They advocate for critical thinking and the ability to access all available information before forming conclusions.

In short, the episode uses a recent shooting incident as a springboard to discuss broader societal issues, including corporate greed, hypocrisy, censorship, and the importance of open dialogue and critical thinking. The hosts express skepticism towards established narratives and advocate for the free flow of information.

And Another Thing With Dave, by Dave Smith

#AATWD

This podcast excerpt covers a range of interconnected social and political issues, primarily focusing on systemic disadvantages faced by the Black community and a critique of certain aspects of LGBTQ+ activism.

Here's a summary:

Systemic Disadvantage and Lack of Resources: The initial discussion centers on the lack of resources and opportunities available to Black Americans, arguing that this is a systemic issue rather than a matter of individual effort. The speaker contends that historical and ongoing discrimination, such as redlining and policies that destabilized Black families, have created significant barriers to economic and social progress. 1 They contrast this with immigrant groups who often arrive with existing wealth and support networks.   1. Systemic Inequality: Displacement, Exclusion, and Segregation - Center for American Progress www.americanprogress.org

Historical Context of Oppression: The conversation highlights historical examples of oppression against Black Americans, including the Red Summer of 1919 and the destruction of Black communities. This historical context is used to explain the ongoing challenges faced by the Black community.

Critique of Certain LGBTQ+ Activism: The podcast then shifts to a critique of certain aspects of LGBTQ+ activism, particularly the focus on symbolic gestures like rainbow crosswalks and corporate marketing campaigns. The speakers argue that these actions are performative and don't address real issues of discrimination and inequality.

Concerns about Transgender Individuals in Public Spaces: The discussion expresses concerns about transgender women using women's restrooms and locker rooms, citing anecdotal stories of confrontations and suggesting that it makes some women uncomfortable. The speakers argue that transgender women should use men's restrooms to avoid making others feel uneasy.

Critique of "Gay Agenda": The podcast distinguishes between the "gay lifestyle" and a perceived "gay agenda," suggesting that some aspects of contemporary LGBTQ+ activism are being pushed by external forces for divisive purposes. They claim that older generations of gay people primarily sought equal rights and acceptance within existing societal structures, rather than the more visible and assertive activism seen today.

Rejection of the Bathroom Debate as Meaningful Progress: The discussion concludes with the argument that the bathroom debate is a distraction from more pressing issues and ultimately only leads to unsanitary conditions.

In essence, the podcast excerpt connects historical and ongoing systemic disadvantages faced by the Black community with a critique of what the speakers perceive as misdirected or performative activism within the LGBTQ+ community. They express concerns about transgender inclusion in public spaces and suggest that certain aspects of LGBTQ+ activism are being driven by external agendas. It's important to note that the views expressed in this excerpt are controversial and do not represent a universally accepted perspective on these complex issues.

In this episode of And Another Thing with Dave, we explore Operation Paperclip, a covert mission to smuggle Nazi scientists into the United States after World War II to evade prosecution at the Nuremberg Trials. Among those involved was Wernher von Braun, the head of the Nazi rocket program, who played a crucial role in NASA's development of the U.S. space program. The episode discusses how the U.S. government whitewashed the pasts of these scientists, including their involvement in unethical experiments and the horrors of the Holocaust. It also highlights the moral dilemmas of using former Nazis to advance American interests during the Cold War, setting the stage for further discussions about their participation in projects like MKUltra.

Dave emphasizes the importance of recognizing this dark chapter in history and its implications for ethics in scientific advancement. The episode ends with a teaser for the next topic: Operation Mongoose and the ongoing effects of MKUltra.

In this episode, the hosts discuss the tense political landscape leading up to the 2024 U.S. presidential election. Topics include concerns about potential political violence, the future of abortion rights, and the strategies of both major parties. Here's a breakdown of the conversation:

1. Election Tensions (0:00-1:25):
The hosts express concerns about the aftermath of the election, especially regarding potential unrest fueled by Trump supporters. They mention the "Stop the Steal" rhetoric and the few isolated incidents of voter fraud, which have been largely exaggerated.

2. Kamala Harris and Project 2025 (1:25-3:40):
The hosts debate Kamala Harris' political role and her accomplishments as vice president, including her work on border security and maternal health. They also touch on Trump's ties to the Heritage Foundation’s "Project 2025," which outlines controversial plans such as eliminating the Department of Education.

3. Biden vs. Trump (3:40-6:32):
There’s a discussion about the political and leadership styles of Joe Biden and Donald Trump. The hosts argue that Biden's administration has failed to spark significant change and contrast that with Trump’s unpredictable leadership, raising concerns about Trump's rhetoric and policies, especially regarding immigration and military power.

4. Women's Rights and Abortion (16:50-19:52):
A major focus of the conversation is the impact of Trump’s potential second term on women’s rights, especially abortion access. They discuss how abortion laws have shifted to a state-level issue post-Roe v. Wade, and the possibility of Kamala Harris pushing for the federal codification of Roe v. Wade. There's also a critique of Obama's missed opportunity to codify Roe during his presidency.

5. Final Thoughts on the Political Divide (20:22-20:44):
