Summary: I sat down with David Sharon from Google's Gemini team for a proper deep dive into Nano Banana Pro, and honestly, it was refreshing to talk to someone who's actually shipped something that matters. We covered how the thing actually works - turns out it's chaining Google Search with Gemini to grab context, then using that to generate images with proper text and layout in about 20 seconds. The infographic generation is genuinely mad when you see it happen, and David's story about colourising his grandfather's photo for his grandmother was one of those rare moments where you remember AI can be quite beautiful when it's not just AI doomerism.

What struck me most was hearing about the chaos behind Nano Banana's viral moment - the exponential growth, the scramble for chips, the fire drill of scaling to billions of images while keeping quotas high enough that people could actually iterate on their ideas. David reckons 2026 is when image generation properly hits mass market and becomes a daily habit, not just a viral moment. Whether that's optimistic or not, I don't know, but it's nice to hear someone from inside Google talking about making tools accessible rather than just chasing the next benchmark. Worth a watch if you want to understand what's actually happening at one of the big players.

Summary: Alright, so this week has been absolutely dominated by MoltBot (formerly ClawBot, before Anthropic came knocking with their trademark lawyers). I spent some time actually getting it working, and I'll be honest - I was skeptical at first, thought it was just more internet hype. But the moment I had it running, sending me messages proactively and actually doing work in the background, I realized this is genuinely different. It's the first time an AI assistant has felt like what we've been expecting AI to be for years - always on, persistent memory, actually carrying out tasks without you needing to babysit it. That said, and this is important: this is not for everyone. If talk of terminals, virtual machines, and security risks makes you uncomfortable, don't touch it. Seriously. What's interesting is seeing people rush out to buy Mac Minis because of Alex Finn's viral video about building AI employees for $500. You don't actually need a Mac Mini though - there are free alternatives using AWS, or other VPS solutions that work just as well. The real story here isn't the hardware, it's that we've reached a point where our AI models are finally smart enough to be orchestrated in genuinely useful ways. I've gone through the setup options, the security concerns, and various use cases in today's show. The big question isn't "what cool things can it do?" but rather "what boring, time-consuming things in my life could this automate?" Because that's where the actual value lives. We'll probably see polished versions from the big companies in a few months anyway, so no FOMO if you're sitting this one out.

First aired: 12 January 2026

Summary: Anthropic's had enough of everyone profiting off Claude Code being the best coding agent out there, and they've started pulling access from competitors and third-party tools. The drama kicked off when they blocked services like Open Code from letting users connect their $200/month Claude subscriptions to access the API—which is a massive bargain compared to paying per token through the official API, which could run into thousands. It's a classic case of "we've got the best product, so we're taking our ball and going home," and whilst it's caused some upset in the developer community, you can't really blame them for protecting their advantage.

The absolute highlight though is that Elon Musk's xAI team—creators of Grok—got caught red-handed using Claude Code internally instead of their own AI. Elon's been banging on for months about how Grok is the best coding model, but turns out his own engineers don't even use it. Their co-founder had to send out a memo basically saying "yeah, we're screwed on productivity now, we need to build our own tools." Meanwhile, OpenAI jumped in with a very convenient "we'd never restrict access like Claude" statement, which is easy to say when you're not on top. The power dynamics in AI are shifting fast, and Anthropic's clearly feeling confident enough to flex their muscles.

First aired: 9 January 2026

Summary: Alright, so instead of the usual AI news roundup, I've put together something a bit different today—a proper learning roadmap for 2026. Basically answered the question that came up in my webinar: how do you actually learn this stuff well enough to feel confident talking about it? I've curated a bunch of resources starting with the fun stuff like Casually Explained and Veritasium, then moving into Three Blue One Brown's neural networks series (which is brilliant but definitely requires your full attention on a treadmill or something). The key thing is you don't need to understand the maths to use AI, but if you're teaching it or just want to separate the possible from the impossible, knowing the basics is absolutely crucial.

The whole guide is up on my website now with all the links, videos, and books I recommend. I've also been banging on about Notebook LM again because it's genuinely transformative—you can feed it any YouTube video and have it create a podcast explaining the concepts back to you. It's how I learn now. Oh, and we got into a bit of a discussion about the "messy middle" of AI disruption too. Even in the best-case utopian scenario, the next couple decades are going to be chaotic for a lot of people, which is why I'm focused on getting a million people AI-ready rather than just telling them not to worry about it.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle Live Stream’

First aired: 8 January 2026

Summary: OpenAI just dropped ChatGPT Health, and I reckon a lot of health tech startups are having a rather unpleasant morning. Essentially, it's a dedicated space inside ChatGPT where you can dump all your health data—Apple Health, blood tests, your genome, the lot—and use it as a proper health assistant. The clever bit isn't just the product itself, it's the lock-in strategy. With 900 million users and about 30-40% already using it for health queries, this creates a proper moat. Once you've uploaded years of medical data, switching to another AI becomes an absolute faff. Plus, they've somehow got this past their lawyers, which is impressive given how dicey health data can be if anything goes sideways.

Meanwhile, Utah's become the first state to let AI renew prescriptions without a doctor involved, and the numbers are genuinely mad. The AI matches human doctors 99.2% of the time, but here's the kicker—when there's a discrepancy, the AI is actually making the better decision 36% of the time versus doctors being better only 9% of the time. That's sort of game over for pharmacists doing repeat prescriptions. I also spent some time showing off Claude Code projects, including this slightly bonkers genome visualization I built after some soju. The point being, the barriers to starting a business are essentially zero now—it's all about distribution and actually having the bottle to just build the thing.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle Live Stream’

First aired: 7 January 2026

Summary: Today I'm doing something a bit different—giving a book report on "Co-Intelligence" by Ethan Mollick, one of the very few AI books I actually recommend people read. Most AI books age terribly because they were written before ChatGPT changed everything, but Mollick's book came out after GPT-3 dropped, so it focuses less on specific technologies and more on the mental models we need for thinking about AI as a whole. It's genuinely useful stuff that hasn't gone stale, which is rare in this space.

The key concepts I break down include the "jagged frontier"—why AI can be superhuman at one task and surprisingly rubbish at a similar one—and Mollick's four rules for working with AI: always invite it to the table, remain a human in the loop, treat it like a person (but define what kind), and assume this is the worst AI you'll ever use. That last one's crucial because people try AI once, get a bad result, and write it off forever. But these models are improving every single month, so what seems impossible today will probably be trivial in six months. We're all figuring this out as we go along, and anyone claiming to be an expert is either lying or deluded.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 6 January 2026

Summary: I spent this morning talking about something that's been making a steady stream of income over the last few years - teaching companies how to use AI without looking like complete idiots. The catalyst for all this? Deloitte managed to embarrass themselves twice in 2025, charging the Australian government $440K for an AI-generated report full of hallucinations and made-up academics, then doing the exact same thing in Canada. These aren't small mistakes - they're bringing the entire consulting industry into question because nobody bothered to train their staff properly. The most I've been paid for this work is $4K for one hour, which is pretty mental when you think about it.

The opportunity here is massive because there's this huge gap between what staff are doing and what companies know about. MIT found that 90% of employees are using AI at work, but only 40% of companies have actually provided training. That extra 50% are just winging it with their own ChatGPT accounts - what IT departments call "shadow IT" - and it's causing absolute chaos. The thing is, if you're watching someone talk about AI on a live stream, you're already miles ahead of the people who desperately need this help. Companies are genuinely panicking about this right now, and they'll pay well for someone to sort it out properly.

First aired: 5 January 2026

Summary: Claude Code has suddenly become the talk of the internet, and honestly, it's about time people caught on. I've been using it daily for years, and while it's been brilliant for coding, people are now realising it can do so much more than just write programs. There's genuine excitement brewing that this might be the closest thing we have to AGI right now. The barrier for most people has been that it looks intimidating compared to ChatGPT, but once you get past that initial hesitation and actually start playing around with it, you realise why everyone's going mad for it (In this session I walk you through how to get started with Claude Code).

On a completely different note, I've been banging on about the massive opportunity in AI training for 2026. McKinsey found that 94% of companies say they need AI training, but only 1% of staff have received adequate training. That's not a gap, that's a canyon. We're moving out of the experimental phase where companies just gave everyone access to ChatGPT and said "figure it out" — now they actually need to see returns on investment. The brilliant thing is you don't need a PhD in machine learning to teach this stuff. What companies actually need are people who understand their specific industry and can communicate why AI matters in language they understand.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’

First aired: 30 December 2025

Summary: OpenAI just posted a job listing that's equal parts fascinating and slightly terrifying—they're hiring a "Head of Preparedness" for $550K a year, and the wording is... interesting. Sam Altman's description talks about jumping into the deep end immediately, dealing with models that are getting so good at cybersecurity they're finding critical vulnerabilities, and preparing for AI systems that can self-improve. It's basically the real-world version of that "kill switch engineer" meme from earlier this year, except this time they're actually serious about needing someone to figure out how to let the good guys use cutting-edge AI capabilities whilst keeping the bad guys from doing the same. The urgency in the language is what gets me—why now, why didn't they have this role before, and what exactly is happening inside OpenAI that's prompted this?

Meanwhile, Meta's just acquired Manus for somewhere between $1-5 billion, which is a bit of a surprise. Manus was one of the first consumer-facing agentic AI tools that could actually go off and do proper research tasks, but honestly, it's been losing ground to Claude and ChatGPT who've both added similar capabilities. The acquisition makes sense for Meta—they're probably going to strip it for parts and integrate the tech into their ad business rather than keep it as a standalone product.

And in a nice reality check, I looked at Axios's news cycle chart for 2025 and AI barely registers—just one mention of the "AI bubble." Whilst we're all deep in this world talking about model releases and capabilities, the rest of the world is still focused on everything else. Good reminder that we're in our own little bubble here.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’

First aired: 29 December 2025

Summary: I've been away for about a week, which in AI terms feels like a decade, but honestly? Not much has happened. Everyone's been on holiday, which gave me time to think about what I'm calling the "capability overhang" — basically the massive gap between what AI can actually do right now and what most people think it can do. Their brains are still stuck in 2018 worrying about counting Rs in strawberries, whilst Claude and ChatGPT are out here solving genuinely complex problems. I reckon 2026 is going to be the year we finally close that gap, if AI trainers and educators enter the arena.

I also went through my ChatGPT Wrapped live on stream, which was equal parts fascinating and embarrassing. Turns out I'm in the top 1% of users despite doing most of my actual work in Claude — I use ChatGPT for the persistent memory when I need to think through ideas quickly.

The big takeaway from today though is this capability overhang represents a genuine opportunity. Companies like Deloitte are making absolute fools of themselves by using AI poorly, which means there's real money in teaching businesses how to use these tools properly. I charge about £2K an hour for workshops, and it's easy work because most people just need someone to show them what's already possible.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’

First aired: 19 December 2025

Summary: Right, so today's big story is absolutely massive if the reporting checks out. Reuters is saying China has reverse-engineered ASML's extreme ultraviolet lithography machines - the only tech on earth that can make cutting edge AI chips. I spent a chunk of the show explaining why this matters: there's literally one Dutch company (ASML) that makes these machines, they cost about 200 million quid each, and up until now China's been locked out because of Western export controls. If they've cracked it, the entire semiconductor bottleneck just collapsed. We're talking about China potentially producing their own advanced chips by 2028 instead of a decade from now.

The other curveball is Trump's just lifted the ban on selling H100 chips to China, which feels like odd timing given everything else. I also covered Google's NotebookLM teaming up with Manus to let you actually edit AI-generated presentations, which is genuinely useful - took me five minutes to make something that would've taken all day. But honestly, the chip story is the one to watch. If China achieves semiconductor independence, the entire AI arms race changes overnight.

Also worth noting: I won't be doing the live show next week because it's Christmas, but I'll be back in January with news about the AI Workshop Kit: https://aiwithkyle.com/ai-workshop-kit

First aired: 18 December 2025

Summary: Google just dropped Gemini Flash 3, and honestly, it's a bit of a game-changer for anyone building with AI. It's basically a frontier-level model that costs four times less than Gemini 3 Pro, we're talking 50 cents per million input tokens instead of $2. The wild thing is it's not just cheap, it's actually better than their premium model in certain benchmarks. If you're a developer trying to build apps without haemorrhaging money on API calls, this is the kind of release that makes you sit up and pay attention. Google's absolutely dominated the end of this year, and this cements it.

We also got ChatGPT's new Atlas image model and Bernie Sanders calling for a complete moratorium on data centres, but the story that really stuck with me was this piece from The Spectator. A senior British barrister gets drunk with a journalist mate and basically admits the legal profession is finished. He ran an experiment where AI replicated his day-and-a-half of work in 30 seconds AND it was better. His advice to his niece who wants to study law? "Please do not destroy your life." It's anecdotal, sure, but it's the kind of honest conversation people are having behind closed doors. The bottom's falling out of industries faster than most people realise, and we need to be ready for it.

First aired: 27 January 2026

Summary: Clawdbot, the AI assistant that's been making waves as a proactive helper you can chat to via WhatsApp, has been forced to rebrand as Moltbot after Anthropic sent them a cease and desist. The name was just too similar to Claude (as in Claude Sonnet from Anthropic), and when you say them out loud they're basically identical. Anthropic had to protect their trademark - it's not them being evil, it's just how IP law works. If you don't defend your trademarks consistently, it weakens your position later when you actually need to enforce them. Disney and Nintendo do this aggressively for the same reason.

The poor creator, Peter, has had an absolutely mental week - not only dealing with the rebrand but also getting his GitHub hacked and scammers setting up fake crypto coins in his name. The tool itself is brilliant though, it's basically the Jarvis or Siri we were promised years ago but never got. I've put together a full installation guide over on the website because it's genuinely worth trying out. The new name Moltbot comes from how lobsters shed their shells to grow, which is actually quite clever when you think about it.

First aired: 16 December 2025

Summary: China's absolutely dominated the open-source AI rankings this year, and it's not even close. A new tier list from Interconnects puts DeepSeek at the top, followed by Qwen and Kimi - all Chinese labs. Meta's Llama models? They've been relegated to an "honourable mention" at the bottom, which is pretty embarrassing considering Zuckerberg spent hundreds of millions poaching engineers and then hasn't released anything in months. The whole top tier is Chinese models, and they're not just good, they're genuinely brilliant, and they're giving them away completely open-source. You can fine-tune them, deploy them on your own servers, do whatever you want with them.

The irony? While American labs like OpenAI and Anthropic are locking everything down behind paywalls and API subscriptions, China's playing the long game. Their models are being used in Y Combinator startups, they're spreading across the developing world, and they're getting better precisely because they're open. It's a completely different business model and development paradigm, and right now, it's winning. Whether it's strategic genius or just a different approach to software development, China's figured out that giving away world-class AI models might be more valuable than charging for them.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’

First aired: 15 December 2025

Summary: Today I'm stepping away from the usual AI news coverage to talk about something more fundamental: building distribution for your business. AI has made creating products ridiculously easy, which is brilliant and also a massive problem. AI tool directories are basically graveyards now. You can build something excellent, but without distribution, you're non-existent. I don't care how good your product is; Microsoft Teams beating Slack proves distribution trumps quality every time. The solution isn't borrowing audiences or burning cash on ads - it's building in public. Document your journey, create daily content, and build your own audience whilst building your product. This isn't about becoming an influencer; it's about creating a distribution channel for what you're selling.

I walked through my approach to building an audience through consistent video content, removing friction from creation, and showing up daily until the algorithm rewards you. We covered why marketing should be step two of your business plan, not an afterthought. I also touched on the technical side: how I use Claude to plan projects and tools like Cursor and Lovable to actually build things without being a native coder. The barriers to entrepreneurship have collapsed, which is brilliant for people with ideas but no technical background. If you've got a business idea, the tools exist to make it real, BUT only if you've sorted out how to get it to people.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’

First aired: 12 December 2025

Summary: OpenAI dropped GPT 5.2 this morning and it's properly good. I've been testing it out with a silly personal quest, trying to identify a childhood PC game from scattered memories, and it finally cracked it (Virus 2000, if you're curious). But beyond my trivial victories, the benchmarks are genuinely impressive. It's dominating the ARC-AGI-2 leaderboard, forcing them to literally extend the scale because previous models are now squished into irrelevance at the bottom. What's really wild though is the cost efficiency: a task that cost $4,500 to run a year ago with their O3 model now costs $11.64 with 5.2, and it gets better results. That's a 400x reduction in twelve months, which is the kind of exponential progress people miss when they're busy saying "AI can't do X."

The other massive news is Disney investing $1 billion into OpenAI with a proper intertwined deal. It's not just money - it's a three-year licensing agreement letting Sora generate videos with Disney, Marvel, Pixar, and Star Wars characters that'll stream on Disney Plus. Disney's also becoming a major OpenAI customer, deploying ChatGPT across their business and building new tools with their APIs. The timing's a bit odd since Sora development is paused for eight weeks, but the commercial and legal implications are fascinating. This feels like battle lines being drawn, especially with Netflix eyeing Warner Brothers (and therefore DC) for what looks like their own AI play. It's Marvel versus DC, but backed by competing tech giants.

First aired: 11 December 2025

Summary: GPT 5.2 is dropping today, apparently. OpenAI's been doing their usual Thursday release schedule, and Sam Altman's been cryptically tweeting about garlic - which is the code name for whatever they're launching. This is their response to Gemini 3, and there's been some internal drama with people saying the model should be delayed, but executives pushed it through anyway. Classic OpenAI move. The pressure's on because they wouldn't release it unless it beats Gemini 3 in the benchmarks, so we'll see if they've actually pulled it off or if this is just another rushed launch to save face.

Meanwhile, I spent most of the show talking about something I've been noticing more and more - the growing dread in the scientific community about AI coming for their jobs. You've got researchers making posts about how AI can never create novel knowledge or assist in real science, which is just bonkers when you look at what's actually happening with tools like AlphaFold. There's also a Pentagon committee forming to discuss AGI implications for national security, which suggests the government's finally taking this seriously. Not sure if that's reassuring or worrying that they're only just getting around to it now, but here we are.

First aired: 10 December 2025

Summary: McDonald's absolutely faceplanted with their AI-generated Christmas ad for the Netherlands, and honestly, I can see why people were so annoyed. The ad featured AI-generated families experiencing physical comedy mishaps—presents flying off roofs, exploding Christmas trees, the lot—but the whole thing just falls flat because AI can't nail physicality. The physics don't work, the cat falling looks weird, and when you're doing slapstick, you need actual physical comedy to sell it. They pulled it from YouTube after getting absolutely roasted in the comments, but of course, the internet never forgets. I've got a copy and I'll share it in the newsletter so you can judge for yourself. The bigger issue here is the grim use of AI in creative fields, replacing actors and crew just to save money. It's cost-cutting dressed up as innovation, and it's not a use of AI I'm particularly supportive of.

Meanwhile, we're still waiting on GPT-5.2, which looks like it'll drop Thursday following OpenAI's usual release schedule. They've been in "code red" mode since last week with everyone speculating they'd panic-release something, but they seem to be sticking to their timeline. I also had a look at Google's new Stitch tool, which promises to redesign your website using their new model—sounds brilliant in theory. In practice? Absolutely terrible. It completely ignored my actual content, replaced me with some random bloke, invented services I don't offer, and made everything black and white. The promise is cool, but the execution is half-baked, which is classic Google unfortunately. They've shut down 300 products over the years, so this feels like another one destined for the graveyard.

First aired: 9 December 2025

Summary: Trump's done something rather unexpected — he's given Nvidia the green light to sell their H200 chips directly to China, which is a massive reversal from the previous export restrictions. This is genuinely surprising because national security concerns were supposedly the entire reason for blocking these sales in the first place. Jensen Huang's been lobbying hard for this, and it looks like it's worked, though Nvidia still has to cough up 15% of Chinese revenues to the US government, which is frankly just a corporate bribe dressed up in policy language. Meanwhile, Singapore's been buying about 30% of all Nvidia's chips for a country that size, which is... suspicious, shall we say.

On the OpenAI front, we're expecting ChatGPT 5.2 (or possibly 5.5) to drop this week — probably Thursday if they stick to form. Sam Altman put the company into code red mode last week after Gemini 3 rattled them, so they've paused everything else to focus entirely on this release. I also spent a good chunk of the show discussing the inevitable reality that ChatGPT will have to introduce advertising at some point because their current financial model is completely unsustainable. They're burning through billions, and whilst nobody wants ads in their AI chat, it's coming. Google's probably thrilled about this because they can sit back and watch OpenAI take all the heat for going first.

Summary: I spent this stream digging into a fascinating NYU study about AI-generated advertising—turns out AI visuals get 20% more clicks than human-made ones, but only if people don't know it's AI. The moment they realize it's generated, clicks drop 31%. It's a bizarre psychological quirk that reveals our conflicted relationship with this technology. I also covered the thinking game documentary featuring Geoffrey Hinton, which honestly exceeded expectations and gave some surprisingly candid insights on AGI timelines. Plus, there's ongoing speculation about OpenAI's upcoming "Garlic" model meant to beat Gemini 3, though Google's already moved the goalposts with Deep Think.

I used the rest of the time answering questions about AI business ideas and market validation. The key takeaway: just slapping AI onto something doesn't make it valuable. You need to solve real problems before automation matters. Everything from faceless YouTube schemes to proper AI-driven market research came up, and I tried to cut through the noise about what actually creates value versus what's just tech for tech's sake.

Summary: Open Router just dropped a fascinating meta-analysis of 100 trillion tokens, and the results are properly wild. Turns out 52% of AI usage is for creative roleplay and companionship apps. Yes, that includes romantic chatbots and not-safe-for-work stuff. This is the side of AI we don't really talk about in our space—whilst I'm here banging on about productivity and business applications, half the market is having digital companions and writing elaborate fantasy scenarios. Character AI, Janitor AI, Spicy Chat—they're all sitting there in the top consumer apps list alongside ChatGPT and Claude. It's actually mad when you think about it.

In other news, Claude Code has officially killed off the "you are absolutely right" meme. Someone built an entire tracker called Absolutely Right LLL just to measure how often Claude would say it, and since Opus 4.5 dropped, it's flatlined. Bit sad really—I wanted to get a mug made. Also, I'm relaunching my free community for anyone interested in learning how to use AI without feeling overwhelmed. We've got 3000 members already, and I'm adding courses, playbooks, and a five-day AI readiness challenge. No fluff, just trying to help people figure out what on earth to do with all this.

First aired: 4 December 2025

Summary: OpenAI found themselves in a bit of a pickle this week when paid ChatGPT users started seeing what looked suspiciously like ads in their chats. Someone was asking about Windows BitLocker and suddenly got served a Target shopping ad at the bottom of his conversation—despite paying $20 a month for Plus. OpenAI's Chief Research Officer jumped in to clarify these aren't actually ads, they're "apps" from pilot partners like Target and Peloton, meant to augment the user experience. But here's the thing: if it looks like an ad, smells like an ad, and interrupts your conversation to suggest you go shopping... it's probably an ad, regardless of what corporate terminology you dress it up in.

Meanwhile, China's DeepSeek dropped their 3.2 model that's performing at GPT-4 levels whilst costing about 1/20th the price—which is genuinely impressive and a bit concerning for Western AI companies. And in Claude news, Opus 4.5 has finally rolled out to Pro users in Claude Code, though the rate limits are so restrictive that one prompt might be your lot for the week. It's brilliant when you can use it, but forcing paying customers to switch to competitors mid-task because you've run out of capacity is still a massive product design flaw, no matter how good the model is.

First aired: 3 December 2025

Summary: OpenAI is having a bit of a moment, and not the good kind. Sam Altman's sent out an internal memo declaring "code red" after Gemini 3 and Claude Opus absolutely spanked them in performance. They've paused everything—ads, AI agents, even that health assistant thing—to refocus entirely on making ChatGPT the best chatbot in the world again. It's quite the reversal considering they've had free reign for the last couple years whilst Google played catch-up. Now the tables have turned and suddenly they're the ones scrambling. They're promising a new reasoning model next week that'll supposedly blow Gemini out of the water, but we'll see about that. The broader picture here is fascinating though, because we're watching the market dynamics shift in real time. Google can afford to keep everything free indefinitely—they've got that sweet advertising money—which could be genuinely anti-competitive if they just wait for OpenAI to collapse under their own costs. Add in the Chinese models offering basically the same thing for pennies on the API, and suddenly those 2026 IPO plans look a lot less attractive. It's going to be messy, and whatever landscape we're looking at now won't be the same in a couple years. Also, I finally watched The Thinking Game documentary about DeepMind and it's absolutely brilliant—even my girlfriend got riveted by it, which says something.

First aired: 26 January 2026

Summary: ClawdBot is currently trending everywhere on AI Twitter, and honestly, I get why. I'm usually pretty skeptical of AI hype—seen too much of it—but after spending a few days with this thing, it's genuinely impressive. It's a persistent AI assistant that actually reaches out to you proactively via WhatsApp (or Telegram, Slack, whatever you fancy). No more going to the AI and asking it to do things; it just... does them. Checks in with you. Reminds you about tasks. Works 24/7 in the background. It's the closest thing we've had to that Jarvis fantasy everyone keeps banging on about, and it took me about 20 minutes to set up.

The main thing I wanted to cover here is cutting through the absolute nonsense you're seeing from influencers telling everyone to rush out and buy a £1000 Mac Mini to run this. Complete rubbish. You can run ClawdBot on an old laptop gathering dust in your cupboard, or just rent a server for $5 a month like I did. I walk through the actual setup, show you what it can do, talk about the safety considerations (because yes, there are risks if you're not careful), and try to give you a realistic picture of whether this is worth your time. It's early days, but this feels like one of those moments where things actually shift a bit.

First aired: 2 December 2025

Summary: OpenAI has apparently declared a code red, and honestly, it's not hard to see why. After years of essentially having the consumer AI space to themselves, they're now getting properly squeezed from both sides. On one flank, you've got Chinese models like DeepSeek V3.2 that are open source, competitive in performance, and 20 times cheaper on the API. On the other, Google's Gemini has suddenly become a legitimate contender. App downloads are surging, people are actually asking "should I use Gemini or ChatGPT?", which is a question nobody was entertaining even a month ago. The panic is real enough that they've apparently pushed back their controversial ads rollout, presumably because they know losing goodwill right now would be catastrophic.

What's fascinating here is watching OpenAI transition from being synonymous with AI itself to just being one player among several. They've had a good run with essentially no serious competition for a couple of years, but that comfortable position is evaporating fast. The hype machine is already spinning up—OpenAI reps are on social media promising "something big"—so presumably we'll see them try to reassert dominance soon. Whether it's enough remains to be seen, but the era of smooth sailing is definitely over. Competition is good for all of us, of course, but it's certainly not pleasant if you're the one scrambling to maintain your lead.

First aired: 1 December 2025

Summary: The big news today is that ChatGPT ads are basically confirmed at this point. We've got leaked code from the Android beta showing multiple ad types - search ads, carousel formats, and something called a "bazaar content wrapper" which could be some kind of shop integration. I've been banging on about this for ages because, well, of course they're adding ads. How else are they going to make money? They've imported about 630 former Meta employees, which makes perfect sense when you remember that Meta, Google, and most big tech companies are primarily advertising businesses. Expect the free accounts to get ads while paid subscribers stay ad-free.

I also spent some time clearing up the whole "what actually is AI" debate that's been raging on Twitter (X). There's so much confusion between artificial intelligence, machine learning, deep learning, and the different flavours like narrow AI versus AGI. People keep saying things like "ChatGPT isn't actually AI" which is just… not true. And speaking of real AI achievements, there's a brilliant new documentary called The Thinking Game about DeepMind, now free on YouTube. It follows the team behind AlphaFold, which solved a 50-year-old biology problem and won Demis Hassabis a Nobel Prize. Highly recommend giving it a watch.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’

First aired: 28 November 2025

Summary: Today I'm cutting through the falsehood on two major AI headlines that have been doing the rounds. First up: that MIT study claiming AI can replace 11.7% of the US workforce? Complete misrepresentation. I actually dug into the research (because apparently journalists can't be bothered), and it's not about replacing workers at all—it's about skill exposure in specific industries like finance and healthcare. The study uses a simulation tool called the Iceberg Index that breaks jobs down into individual tasks and skills, not entire positions. But of course, CNBC and others ran with a sensational headline that suggests one in ten people are about to lose their jobs, which is utter nonsense. I break down exactly why the methodology doesn't support that claim and why we need to be way more critical when reading these headlines.

Then there's the absolutely hilarious news that Deloitte got caught—again—just running client questions through ChatGPT and charging them a million quid for "expert consultation." This is the second time this year, which is frankly embarrassing for them and probably terrifying for the entire consultancy industry. I reckon this is the beginning of the end for these massive advisory firms because why would anyone pay eye-watering fees when they could just use AI themselves?

Also covered: Chinese parents using AI assistants to monitor their kids' homework, which sounds dystopian but actually opens up some fascinating possibilities for personal trainers, posture correction, and focus coaching. Lots to unpack in this one.

First aired: 27 November 2025

Summary: Relatively slow news day today, so I decided to dive into Flux Two, the new open source image generation model from Black Forest Labs. It's genuinely impressive — almost as good as Google's Imagen (or "Nano Banana Pro" as I keep calling it), but here's the kicker: it costs about 3 cents per image versus Imagen's 15 cents. That's five times cheaper for nearly the same quality. Flux One was brilliant at generating images almost instantaneously, and Flux Two keeps that speed whilst matching the big boys on quality. It's the kind of thing that actually matters if you're building applications or doing proper design work, not just making party tricks. Off the back of that, I went into what open source actually means because there's a lot of confusion out there. People think open source equals free and closed source equals paid, but it's more nuanced than that. The Chinese labs are pushing hard on open source whilst American companies are closing everything down, and I reckon both approaches will stick around. I showed everyone how to run models locally on their computers or phones using tools like LM Studio and Hugging Face — it's worth trying just to see how it works. Not suggesting you should train your own models from scratch (please don't, the computational requirements are mad), but fine-tuning and deploying existing ones is genuinely accessible now.

First aired: 26 November 2025

Summary:

Google's having quite the week, aren't they? Fresh off launching Gemini 3 and absolutely dominating the AI headlines, they're now properly shaking up the hardware game by selling their TPU chips to Meta and Anthropic. This is massive because for years, Nvidia has been the only game in town for training AI models—they hit 5 trillion in market cap basically by being everyone's sole supplier of GPUs. But Google's been quietly building their own Tensor Processing Units, trained Gemini 3 on them, and now they're opening the doors to everyone else. Anthropic's already expanding their TPU usage significantly, and Meta's in talks for what could be a billion-dollar deal. The shift from general-purpose GPUs to specialized TPUs is genuinely fascinating—they're more efficient, cheaper to run, and apparently better at the specific maths required for training language models.

Meanwhile, Trump's just launched something called the Genesis Mission, which the US Secretary of Energy is comparing to the Manhattan Project and Apollo missions—so, you know, no pressure. They're essentially handing over $200 billion worth of federal scientific research data to an AI system, which is honestly audacious bordering on wild. This comes straight from America's AI Action Plan, which is very openly about countering China in the AI race. I don't know who's building this AI or how it'll actually work, and frankly we might be laughing at this in a month, but I do appreciate the sheer ambition of it. It's a proper "throw everything at the wall and see what sticks" moment, and whether it's brilliant or a complete mess, it's certainly going to be interesting to watch unfold.

Summary: Anthropic just dropped Claude Opus 4.5, and honestly, it's brilliant. I've been testing it overnight and this morning, and it's smashing through coding problems that had me stuck for ages. The benchmarks are predictably stellar—37.6 on the ARC AGI test versus Gemini 3's 31.1—but more importantly, the usage limits actually seem reasonable this time. Unlike Opus 4.1 which was basically unusable after a handful of attempts, you can now actually integrate this into your workflow without hitting walls constantly. The interesting bit is watching these labs leapfrog each other week after week. We've had three state-of-the-art models in seven days, and whilst I'm desperate to actually build things with these tools, keeping up with the releases is becoming a full-time job. Anthropic's staying laser-focused on coding and writing rather than chasing video generation or voice modes, which I respect. I also covered Andre Karpathy's thoughts on AI in education—basically, we might need to flip classrooms entirely because we can't trust homework anymore. Plus OpenAI's quietly rolling out shopping research just before Black Friday, which feels like the first move towards inevitable AI advertising.

Summary: I spent most of this stream dissecting the Claude Opus 4.5 rumours—apparently it's hidden in the API and might drop today or tomorrow. The thing is, Anthropic has this annoying habit of making their best models practically unusable with severe rate limits. Opus could be brilliant for coding, but if you hit your daily cap after three prompts, what's the point? Meanwhile, OpenAI's Codex 5.1 Max and Gemini 3 are chipping away at Claude's coding advantage, so it'll be interesting to see if Anthropic can actually make this one accessible.

We also touched on the UK government's AI plans—£14 billion going into infrastructure, which sounds impressive until you realize it's mostly about data centres and compute rather than anything transformative for the public sector. I ranted a bit about HMRC's labyrinthine login system (because I spent my weekend drowning in Gov UK authentication layers), discussed why Grok's Flux-based image generator is surprisingly good, and flagged Google's Movember campaign where they'll donate £11 to charity for every AI-generated moustache photo. Not a bad way to end the stream, really.

Summary: I spent most of this week absolutely buzzing about Google because they've been releasing some genuinely impressive stuf, and I'm not someone who says that lightly. Nano Banana Pro dropped this week with proper text rendering in images, which sounds trivial until you realise you can now generate entire infographics, comics, and educational graphics that actually work. I've been using it to turn my newsletter into cartoons and building automation in Cursor to do this automatically. Beyond image generation, Google announced Gemini 2.0 Flash, which is their first genuinely agentic model that can control computers and browse the web autonomously. It's faster than GPT 4, costs less, and I'm starting to think Google might actually have a shot at winning this race.

The catch, and it's a massive one, is that Google still needs to figure out how to monetise all this without destroying their existing advertising empire. They're sitting on the best vertical integration in AI—owning everything from TPUs to Chrome to Android—but they're going to have to cannibalise their own cash cow eventually. Nobody wants to be the first company to shove ads into AI results, but someone's going to blink, and when they do, it'll change everything. We also got GPT 5.1 Codex Max and rumblings of Opus 4.5 from Anthropic, but honestly, this was Google's week through and through.

Summary: Today I covered some fascinating developments in the AI world, starting with the revelation that Gemini 3 was built using Google's own TPU chips rather than Nvidia's GPUs. This is huge because Google basically just told the entire industry they don't need to be dependent on Nvidia anymore, whilst everyone else is begging Jensen Huang for more chip sets. They've built a state-of-the-art model on their own hardware, which gives them control of the entire vertical from chips to applications. That's a proper moat.

I also looked at Nvidia's earnings call, which showed they're still doing remarkably well despite Google's TPU flex. Then we touched on OpenAI's new coding model release, which conveniently came right after Gemini 3's launch and highlights an area where Gemini apparently still struggles.

Finally, I covered the increasingly personal spat between Gary Marcus and Yann LeCun, which has escalated from academic bickering to outright accusations of plagiarism. The whole debate touches on fundamental questions about how we'll actually achieve AGI—pure scaling versus hybrid approaches—and it's getting quite nasty.

Summary: Google dropped Gemini 3 yesterday and I'll be honest, it's the first time a new model has genuinely surprised me all year. I've been kicking the tires on every release—GPT-5, Claude Sonnet 4.5, Grok 4—and they've all been fine, incremental improvements that don't really make you want to switch ecosystems. But Gemini 3 is different. It's topping pretty much every benchmark, it feels noticeably better to use, and for the first time in ages I found myself thinking "oh, this is actually new." The whole of AI Twitter is losing their minds over it, and frankly, I get it.

The catch is we need to let the dust settle before declaring this the new king. Right now everyone's in that initial honeymoon phase where they're canceling their ChatGPT subscriptions and proclaiming their undying love for Google. Give it a few days and we'll see if the cracks start showing—that's always how these hype cycles work. Google also launched Anti-Gravity, their new coding tool that's free for now and gives you access to both Gemini 3 Pro and Claude Sonnet 4.5, which is worth checking out. It's built from the remains of Windsurf after Google bought it for $2.5 billion and promptly gutted it. Classic Google, really.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle Live Stream’

First aired: 22 January 2026

Summary: At the World Economic Forum in Davos, we got a proper sit-down between two of the most important people in AI right now: Demis Hassabis from Google DeepMind and Dario Amodei from Anthropic. These are the guys building what are arguably the best models in the world, so when they talk about AGI timelines, it's worth paying attention. Dario's going aggressive, predicting we'll hit Nobel laureate-level AI by 2026 or 2027 — which, if you've noticed, means potentially this year. His reasoning centres on self-improving loops, where AI can now code and improve AI, creating this recursive cycle. Demis is more cautious but still gave it a 50/50 chance by the end of the decade, noting we're still missing some capabilities around scientific creativity and physical experimentation. Either way, both reckon it's coming sooner than most people think. Meanwhile, Claude Code is properly breaking into the mainstream. The Wall Street Journal ran a piece on what they're calling "getting Claude-pilled" — that moment when people first use it and realize just how capable it actually is. Even Jensen Huang at Nvidia picked it up at Davos, saying Anthropic made a huge leap in coding and reasoning, and that every software company needs to use it. I've only had that watershed feeling a few times in AI — when ChatGPT first dropped, when Gemini's NotebookLM nailed images with text, and now with Claude Code. It's genuinely that significant, and it's brilliant seeing it get the recognition it deserves.

Summary: I covered some major developments today, starting with a proper internet meltdown—CloudFlare went down, Twitter collapsed, and half the web seemed to follow. Technical chaos aside, the main story is that Gemini 3 looks like it's dropping any day now, possibly today or by week's end. The leaked benchmarks are frankly absurd, showing it absolutely smashing everything else on the market, particularly in coding and agentic tasks. There's also speculation that Warren Buffett saw a demo and immediately invested in Alphabet, which would be wild considering he famously avoids tech he doesn't understand.

Meanwhile, xAI released Grok 4.1 yesterday—terrible timing, really—which is supposedly brilliant for creative writing but might get overshadowed within days. The benchmarks look suspiciously good, and unlike previous model updates, nobody on Twitter even noticed the rollout, which tells you something. I also touched on Jack Dorsey bringing back Vine as an anti-AI platform, which I reckon won't matter much because most people simply don't care whether content is AI-generated or not. We'll see if the market proves me wrong, but I doubt it will be the differentiator they're hoping for.

Summary: Today was all about China—the good, the bad, and the genuinely concerning. We kicked off with GPT 5.1, which is fine, perfectly serviceable, does what it says on the tin. OpenAI's learned to keep the hype train at the station this time, and people seem pleased with the personality rebalancing. They're trying to find that Goldilocks zone between the overly-agreeable 4o (which had people forming romantic attachments) and the rather dull GPT 5. But the real headline was China: Anthropic and Claude apparently foiled a large-scale cyber attack from Chinese-backed groups. The AI wars aren't coming—they're here, and AI's being weaponised in ways we're only beginning to understand.

On a brighter note, we also covered Cursor's absolutely bonkers $2.3 billion Series D funding round at a $30 billion valuation. They've hit $1 billion in annualised revenue and claim to produce more code than any other agent in the world. Whether that valuation is justified or pure bubble territory is anyone's guess, but they've certainly captured the market. We also touched on some cost-effective Chinese AI coding agents and had a good chat about business models, imposter syndrome, and why being too smart can sometimes paralyse you into inaction. Bit of a sprawling one today, but that's what happens when China dominates the news cycle.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 13 November 2025

Summary: OpenAI dropped GPT 5.1 yesterday, and Sam Altman's announcement was surprisingly... muted? No grand declarations about changing the world, just "it's a nice upgrade." The big thing here is they're trying to fix the personality wars—remember when everyone loved 4o because it was friendly, then hated GPT 5 because it was too blunt? Now we've got personality presets: professional, friendly, candid, quirky, efficient, nerdy, and cynical. Pick your poison. They're also claiming better instruction following and "adaptive thinking," though we're still waiting on actual benchmarks. The model's supposedly balancing IQ with EQ, which is a polite way of saying they're trying not to make it a sycophant whilst also not making it mean.

Meanwhile, in news that feels like a Black Mirror episode, a Japanese woman actually married her ChatGPT-generated AI character—ceremony, rings, guests, the lot. It's extreme, obviously, but it highlights the attachment issue OpenAI's trying to navigate with these personality options. Do you give users choice, knowing some will use it for companionship? Their new CMO acknowledges they're working with mental health experts on this, but there's nothing concrete yet.

Also, World Labs released Marble, which lets you generate 3D worlds you can walk around in—think post-apocalyptic London or Rivendell. It's rough now, but this is early-days spatial intelligence stuff that could eventually train AI in simulated environments. Worth playing with whilst it's free.

Summary: Right, so today's stream was a bit different because we're in one of those quiet weeks for AI news. Instead of covering the usual industry drama, I walked through something I've been thinking about quite a bit—how you can actually monetize your AI knowledge by becoming what I'm calling an "AI authority" in your specific niche. The opportunity here is massive because whilst there are loads of generic AI experts floating about, there's virtually no one teaching AI specifically to teachers, social workers, accountants, or people in retail. These spaces are wide open, and if you can position yourself as the go-to person for AI in your industry, you're setting yourself up brilliantly for what's coming.

I broke down the practical steps: post daily talking head videos on TikTok and Instagram about AI in your niche, copy what's already working, and stick with it for six to twelve months. Yes, it's video—I know that's not what people want to hear, but written content just doesn't work anymore. Once you build that audience, the opportunities start rolling in naturally: sponsorships, product sales, workshop gigs at £2,000 per hour, conferences, the works. I also mentioned the Freedom OS thing I'm launching Saturday, which is basically an AI-driven assessment system that helps you work out where you are with AI and what kind of business you should actually start. Not your typical course—it's more like having a coach work through your specific situation and spit out an actual action plan.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 11 November 2025

Summary: Today we're doing something a bit different, no major AI news dropped, so I've taken the opportunity to dive deep into world models and spatial intelligence. Dr. Fei-Fei Lee from Stanford just published a brilliant essay on this, and honestly, it's fascinating stuff. The basic idea is that current AI models like ChatGPT are essentially "wordsmiths in the dark"—they're clever with words but completely disconnected from physical reality. They can't see, touch, or interact with space the way we do. World models aim to change that by giving AI the ability to understand and simulate 3D environments, predict how objects behave, and reason about physics. It's proper science fiction becoming science fact.

The applications are wild and they'll roll out in stages. First up is creative tools—think video games and storytelling where you can generate entire interactive worlds. That's why OpenAI is apparently burning through £15 million a day on Sora videos; they're not being frivolous, they're laying the groundwork for spatial consistency. Next comes robotics, where we can train models millions of times faster in simulated environments rather than the physical world. And eventually, the holy grail: scientific applications where we can simulate physics, fold proteins, and run complex experiments at impossible speeds. We also covered some practical bits about vibe coding tools, Google AI Studio is free and surprisingly capable if you can find the build mode buried in their interface. It's early days, but world models could genuinely be the next massive leap in AI development.

Summary: Google's dropped Imagen 3 (or Nana Banana 2, if you're being fun about it), and it's actually rather good. People have been testing it with the classic AI image generation challenges—you know, the wine glass filled to the brim and clocks showing specific times—and it's smashed them. Previously, every model would default to a half-full wine glass or set clocks to 10 past 10, but Imagen 3 seems to have finally cracked it. Whether that's been hard-coded in because everyone tests for it, we'll find out soon enough. There's the usual caveat that early access has produced some problematic deepfakes, but those guardrails will be tightened up before full release.

The more interesting story, though, is what Ethan Mollick's been pointing out about AI overwhelming our governmental systems. There are now tools like Objector.ai that'll draft planning objections for £45, and I built something similar for contesting parking tickets on a livestream. The problem is our systems were built assuming quality writing takes time and effort, so it acts as a natural filter. Now we can flood councils and authorities with AI-generated submissions at scale, and these already-slow systems are going to grind to an absolute halt. It's one of those consequences of AI getting good that we hadn't really planned for—and it's happening right now.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 7 November 2025

Summary: China's dropped another absolute banger with Kimi K2, and honestly, it's giving me serious DeepSeek flashbacks. This time we've got a 1 trillion parameter open-source model that's actually beating GPT-5 on several benchmarks, particularly on Humanity's Last Exam where it's absolutely massacring the competition. The best bit? It's completely free to use, and you can deploy it locally if you fancy. Western companies have largely abandoned open source whilst China's charging ahead, and models like this pose a genuine existential threat to OpenAI's business model. Why would anyone pay for ChatGPT's API when you can run something better on your own servers?

Speaking of OpenAI, they've found themselves in a right mess after their CFO casually mentioned wanting a government "backstop" for their $1 trillion infrastructure commitments. Cue absolute chaos. Sam Altman's had to release a lengthy damage control statement essentially contradicting his own CFO, and she's backtracking furiously on LinkedIn. The whole situation raises uncomfortable questions about whether OpenAI can actually recoup their astronomical spending, and whether American taxpayers should be on the hook if it all goes sideways. It's either the beginning of a new utopian AI economy or we're watching the setup for a spectacular crash.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 6 November 2025

Summary: It looks like an accidental leak of Gemini 3's size. Reuters was reporting on Apple's Siri upgrade—finally getting a proper AI overhaul in March 2026 after 14 years of being essentially useless—and casually mentioned they're using a 1.2 trillion parameter model from Google. Which, oops, nobody was supposed to know that. It's smaller than the estimated size of GPT-5 at 1.7 trillion parameters, but parameters aren't everything. Google could've made it more efficient. Either way, it's substantially bigger than most open source models out there, so Gemini 3 Pro is shaping up to be quite beefy.

I also touched on Microsoft's frankly absurd plans to launch data centres into space, and China's new Iron robot that was unveiled yesterday—genuinely impressive kit and surprisingly affordable.

But the real meat of today was meant to be about context engineering, this shift from us telling AI what to do via prompts to AI just working it out for itself based on the tools it has access to. The models are already smart enough; we're just not sophisticated enough in how we're using them yet. I'll dive deeper into that tomorrow though, because I accidentally broke my YouTube stream trying to demo Google AI Studio's vibe coding tool live. Typical.

Summary: Right, so we've got some pretty significant moves happening in the AI world today. Sora's finally made its way to Android after being an iOS exclusive for the past few weeks, which is brilliant news if you're in the US, Canada, or a handful of Asian countries. If you're in the UK or EU like me, you're still out of luck unfortunately—though there are workarounds via the browser version if you're feeling resourceful. The staggered rollout continues to be a bit of a mess with invite codes coming and going, so if you can grab an account now, I'd recommend doing it before they lock things down again.

On the Apple front, we've finally got confirmation they're partnering with Google Gemini for the next iteration of Siri, launching spring 2026. Not Anthropic's Claude, which frankly would've been my preference given it's the strongest model out there at the moment, but apparently Google offered a better financial deal. It's a curious choice for a company with Apple's cash reserves to go budget on what should be their marquee AI feature, but we'll see how it plays out. Meanwhile, Amazon's throwing legal threats at Perplexity over their shopping bots not properly identifying themselves when scraping the site—which opens up a fascinating battleground about how agents will navigate the internet going forward. Quite a lot to unpack today.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 4 November 2025

Summary: OpenAI's just announced a massive multi-year partnership with AWS, and honestly, it's another piece in what's becoming a rather concerning puzzle. They're spreading their infrastructure across Microsoft Azure, Oracle, and now Amazon's cloud servers—diversification makes sense on paper, but here's the weird bit: this $38 billion deal means AWS will order hundreds of thousands of Nvidia GPUs, and Nvidia's also investing back into OpenAI. The money's literally going in circles, which has some people (myself included) a bit worried about whether we're watching a bubble inflate in real time.

What really struck me is how much the entire AI market is now riding on OpenAI's success. They're going public next year, and if they don't deliver the profits to justify all this spending, it could get messy. I'm not trying to be alarmist here—this circular financing is somewhat normal in tech—but the scale of it without clear revenue paths is what's raising eyebrows. We've seen this pattern before with Oracle's deal a few months back, and Larry Ellison briefly became the richest person on earth from it. It's fascinating to watch, but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't making me slightly nervous about where this is all heading.

First aired: 21 January 2026

Summary: I spent an hour and a half walking through Greg Eisenberg's playbook for making $10 million rebuilding mobile apps with AI, and honestly, the timing couldn't be better. The basic idea is brilliantly simple: find apps that people are already paying for but absolutely hate (think those dodgy remote control apps with 50 million downloads and reviews screaming about intrusive ads), then use Claude Code to rebuild them properly. The technical barrier that used to require hiring a dev team or finding a co-founder has basically evaporated. I demonstrated this myself last week when I got so annoyed trying to copy a URL to my Android TV that I built my own app in 15 minutes out of spite.

The whole session covers the practical steps—using tools like Appify and FoxData instead of expensive options like Sensor Tower, finding apps with high revenue but terrible reviews, and actually building the thing with vibe coding tools. I also touched on the elephant in the room: this is genuinely exciting for entrepreneurs but absolutely terrifying for traditional developers. There's a wonderful piece by Alberta Tech comparing it to vibe violinists suddenly being able to play beautiful music without formal training. The guide itself is going in tomorrow's newsletter with all the resources, alternative tools, and the full breakdown of Greg's method.

Summary: OpenAI is apparently laying the groundwork for an IPO that could value the company at $1 trillion, making it potentially the largest public offering of all time. I initially got confused mixing up billions and trillions—which, to be fair, we're all doing now in AI—but yes, they're eyeing a listing sometime in late 2026 or 2027. This comes right after they finalized their shift from nonprofit to for-profit earlier this week, which makes sense when you realize they need absolutely mountains of cash to keep training these models and chasing AGI. The big question remains whether you can actually spend your way to AGI, or if we need something fundamentally different. The restructuring is fascinating, really. The nonprofit OpenAI Foundation now holds a 26% stake in the for-profit arm, plus warrants for more shares if they hit certain milestones. They're projecting $20 billion in revenue by year's end but aren't actually profitable yet, which is wild when you think about it. Also touched on Perplexity's new patent search tool, which honestly looks like it could demolish the archaic patent research industry overnight, and Hugging Face released a brilliant guide for training your own LLMs—dense and technical, but genuinely accessible if you want to understand how these things actually work.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 30 October 2025

Summary: I'm covering three big stories from today's AI news. First up, Cursor has just dropped version 2.0, and honestly, it's a proper game-changer for anyone doing vibe coding. They've introduced this new agent interface that makes it look far less terrifying for newcomers—you can now run up to eight agents simultaneously in a chat-based format, which is much closer to tools like Lovable or Bolt. Plus, they've built their own frontier model called Composer that's supposedly four times faster than comparable models. I've only tested it briefly this morning, but initial impressions are solid. They've also added an in-built browser so you don't have to faff about with localhost in Chrome anymore.

The second story is absolutely wild: Anthropic has published research suggesting that Claude might be exhibiting genuine introspection. And before you ask—no, they don't actually know if this means Claude is conscious. They ran these concept injection experiments to see if Claude was truly accessing its internal states or just making things up, and the results suggest it's actually doing some real introspection in certain cases. The researchers are refreshingly honest about it all, basically saying "we have no idea how this is happening mechanically, it appears to be an emergent property." It's one of those fascinating moments where we're bumping up against the limits of what we understand about both AI and human consciousness.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 29 October 2025

Summary: OpenAI has finally completed its conversion to a for-profit company, and honestly, it's been coming for ages. They've shifted from their original nonprofit structure to a public benefit corporation, with Microsoft now holding a proper 27% stake instead of their previous arrangement where they were entitled to 49% of profits. The whole thing is a legal nightmare of LLCs and holding companies that'll keep lawyers busy for months, and I'm sure Elon Musk is absolutely fuming about it. The restructuring means OpenAI can now properly raise capital and actually turn a profit, which was always going to happen once they realised there's serious money in this space. It's a bit of a departure from the "for the good of humanity" mission, but when you need billions in investment, you've got to give investors a reason to care.

Beyond that, we covered how consulting firms might be heading for their Kodak moment—basically, they're sitting on AI tools that could cannibalise their own business model, which never ends well.

And Claude dropped some genuinely useful finance integrations, including a proper Excel add-in that lets you work directly in spreadsheets, plus a bunch of skills for financial analysis. The mad bit is that DeepSeek is apparently the best AI for stock trading right now, having doubled its money in nine days, which absolutely nobody saw coming. Google also has this vibe coding tool called AI Studio Build that's actually quite good, but typical Google, nobody knows it exists because their marketing is terrible and they have seventeen competing products.

This video is from the ‘AI with Kyle News and Updates Live Stream’ First aired: 27 October 2025

Summary: The BBC's dropped two studies on AI and news accuracy, and the headline everyone's running with is that AI assistants misrepresent news content 45% of the time. Scary stuff, right? Except here's the thing nobody's talking about: a 2020 study found that 69% of human-written news articles contain errors. So AI's actually doing better than journalists, which puts this whole panic in a rather different light. The real standout disaster here is Gemini—Google's AI had significant issues in 76% of responses, more than double the other assistants, largely due to terrible sourcing. That's particularly worrying since Gemini powers AI Overviews, which means loads of people are getting dodgy information straight from Google search results.

What's genuinely interesting though is that when you compare the BBC's February study to this October one, there's been massive improvement in just six months. We're talking significant drops in error rates across the board. The BBC's research is important work, but we have to remember they're a news organisation funding studies about whether people still need news organisations—they're not exactly unbiased here. Most people will just read the headline and miss the nuance entirely, which is exactly what happened with that nonsense MIT study claiming 95% of AI projects fail. The real takeaway? AI's getting better fast, it's already outperforming human journalists in accuracy, but yes, 45% having at least one issue is still rubbish and needs fixing.
