| 56 | Drowning in Screen Time Struggles? Try this Simple Teacher Hack | 24 Sep 2025 | 00:19:57 | |
Are you drowning in screen time struggles with your kids?
After a long, hot summer where screens slowly shifted from an ‘extra’ to the default, I knew it was time to try something different. I came across a simple reward system from a first grade teacher, and it’s been a game-changer for our family.
As moms, we know too much screen time can impact our children’s brains, development, and attention spans. And as adoptive moms, we often feel an added responsibility to guide our kids toward becoming confident, balanced, and well-rounded little humans.
While not all screen time is bad—and not every reward system will fit every family—I hope this episode encourages you to take an honest look at the role screens play in your home. If something feels ‘off,’ I pray that you feel equipped and empowered to make small changes that bring more balance to your family.

| 53 | Parenting from Fear? Embrace Your Adopted Child in the Present and Trust God with Their Future | 29 Aug 2025 | 00:18:18 | |
“I just want to know that my child is going to be okay.”
If you’ve ever whispered those words, you’re not alone. As adoptive moms, our deepest desire is for our children to feel fully known, fully loved, secure in their identity, and at peace with their story. But sometimes, fear of the future sneaks in and quietly begins shaping the way we parent.
In this episode, we’re unpacking:
What if instead of trying to control outcomes, we could meet our child right where they are today? What if we could release the fear and surrender their future to the God who already chose us to be their parent?
Let's keep this conversation going! If this episode resonates with you, book your coaching call with me today.

| 70 | Waiting to Adopt? How Waiting for a Puppy Stirred Up Familiar Emotions | 21 Jan 2026 | 00:27:13 | |
Preparing to bring home a new puppy surprised me in ways I didn’t expect. As we count down to welcoming “Mr. Green,” I noticed familiar emotions rising in my heart — the excitement, the nerves, the planning, the what-ifs, and the deep need to trust God before something precious comes home.
While adopting a puppy is not the same as adopting a child at all, the emotional posture of waiting for any big change in your life can stir up very similar emotions.
In this episode, we talk about the heart of preparation, surrender, and faith during seasons of anticipation.
We’ll walk through four common phases many adoptive moms-to-be experience while waiting:
Phase 1: The Excitement Phase Phase 2: The Fear & What-If Phase Phase 3: The Control Trap Phase 4: Surrender & Rest If you’re waiting to adopt, or simply holding something precious in hope, this episode will encourage you to prepare with peace and to trust God with the parts you can’t control.

| 69 | Goal Setting for Christian Moms: Godly Growth + Intentional Planning | 14 Jan 2026 | 00:28:54 | |
As a new year begins, goal setting can feel both exciting and overwhelming—especially for Christian moms. Do we need a word for the year? Do we seek to become a completely new person on January 1st? Do we need to work out 5 days a week to move the needle? Is any of this striving even Godly or wise?

You’ll be encouraged to shift the question from “What do I want to accomplish?” to “Who do I want to become?”— and then create small, actionable weekly goals that align with the woman and mother God is shaping you to be.
Goal setting isn’t “bad” or “wrong.” The key is to keep God at the center and remember that, ultimately, He establishes our steps.
Who is God inviting you to become in this season—and what’s one small step you can take this week in response?

| Episode 40: The Introvert’s Guide to Raising Adopted Kids Without Burning Out | 30 Apr 2025 | 00:31:20 | |
Would you consider yourself an introvert? If so, you’re in the right place!
On today’s episode, I’m talking about parenting adopted kids as an introverted mom. While it can be very challenging on the nervous system, it can absolutely be done. I’ll share some common burnout triggers for adoptive moms, along with ways to create boundaries and create time for recovery.
Believe it or not, introverted moms have so many gifts to offer their kids. We just need to find ways to charge our battery while also loving our families well. This takes intention and sometimes planning ahead.
Remember, mama, you aren’t broken. The need for alone time isn’t selfish. For the introverted mom, it’s actually survival!

| Episode 38: R.E.N.E.W. April Renew Strategies For Adoptive Families | 16 Apr 2025 | 00:20:14 | |
It’s time for another R.E.N.E.W. episode, and this time, it’s for April.
April means spring, and spring is ALL about renewal, so I can’t think of a better time to renew ourselves on this motherhood and adoption journey.
Whether you’re waiting for your family to grow or raising little ones like I am, we must keep our minds, bodies, and spirits nourished and cared for. Sometimes, that means educating ourselves and leaning into a different method of parenting, and sometimes, it simply means relaxing a bit and doing something enjoyable.
I hope you enjoy all the fun tips I have for reading, educating, nourishing, enjoying, and writing (R.E.N.E.W.).
See you next week!

| Episode 37: The Beauty of Choices & Letting Our Kids Fail. A Word for Helicopter Moms Who Love Hard & Mean Well | 09 Apr 2025 | 00:32:32 | |
Inspired by a book and a podcast interview, I wanted to have a conversation around giving kids more control over their lives within safe and loving boundaries.
Moms, what if I told you that all kids’ and teens’ mental health issues revolve around one central theme: a low sense of control.
Clearly, there may be other factors involved, like genetics, trauma, and neurodiversity, and each child is uniquely their own person. And if you’re raising kids by adoption, there are, arguably, so many more variables.
But with today’s moms becoming more and more micromanagers and helicopter moms, it’s no wonder our kids are lacking in confidence and self-motivation.
Where can you offer more autonomy to your child today? We can start small! What can they decide for themselves within appropriate boundaries? Let’s pray over our kids, their choices, and our hearts as we let go juuuust a little.
They may fail, they may fall, but they will undoubtedly be stronger for it and learn invaluable life skills.

On today’s episode, I want to share with you 3 things that will move the needle in your mind, body, and spirit, when all other forms of indulgent things just aren’t possible.

| Episode 33: Finding Gratitude in Unusual (and Sometimes Hard) Places | 12 Mar 2025 | 00:30:35 | |
On this (sometimes teary-eyed – sorry!) episode, we’re talking about finding beauty from ashes. Sometimes we face difficult things. Sometimes it’s a minor health setback or car troubles. Sometimes it’s a failed adoption match or another negative pregnancy test. And other times, it’s losing someone you love. These setbacks and heartbreaks are inevitable in life on this side of heaven. But we can still find gratitude, even in the hard seasons. I want to encourage you to see things through a different lens this week.
Friends, I hope this helps you find perspective during a season of waiting for your adopted child to come. If you’re raising Heartgrown littles, I hope this lifts you up during a time when parenting and life feels heavy.
Praying for you and rooting for you as you journey through your season.

| Episode 31: From Infertility to Adoption: Does One Always Lead to the Other? | 27 Feb 2025 | 00:17:07 | |
Today we’re talking about infertility leading to adoption. This isn’t always the order of things, but it is seen fairly often.
Does one always lead to the other? Absolutely not!
On today’s episode, we’re going to dive deeper into infertility and how, at least in my story, it was the stepping stone that led me to God’s plan for our family, which was adoption. And while I never saw that plan coming, I think God knew it years before we did.
Buckle up as I share some ways to proceed with caution if you’re considering adoption after infertility.

Now I challenge you, mamas, to put your phone down, learn their love language, and get into their world. You’ll start to see who they are as little humans, and they will feel seen, known, and loved.

| Episode 27: Picky Eaters? Try this Challenge to Increase Your Child’s Food Tolerance | 29 Jan 2025 | 00:20:30 | |
Do you have a picky eater in your home? Are things too green, too squishy, too spicy, too stringy, too bitter, or too sour? I have a child who has become a very picky eater and won’t eat many (if any) fruits or veggies.
So, I created a one-week challenge to eat the rainbow and earn a super fun reward. So far, the kids are LOVING it and we’ve seen some massive improvement in willingness to try new foods!
You can do this in your home, too! Find a food item that feels like a struggle (fish, green veggies, beans, etc.), come up with a clever name for your challenge, and help them work toward a reward that is motivating.
Remember, better nutritional habits won’t be fully cured overnight, but exposure to different foods (with no drama) will slowly create the changes you wish to see.
Let me know if you try this and how it’s working for your family!

L: Love O: Openness V: Validation E: Education
Let’s reframe our mind when these thoughts come creeping in, and lead with love. Let’s replace our what-ifs with we-cans!

| Episode 25: Series on Self Care Part III: Is Self-Care Selfish? What Does the Bible Say? | 15 Jan 2025 | 00:18:24 | |
In the final episode of our three-part series on self-care, we discuss whether self-care is biblical or if it has selfish implications. I think it can go either way, depending on how it’s being done. Too much of a good thing isn’t always a good thing!
We discuss a handful of scriptures as they pertain to self-care. The Bible doesn’t explicitly mention self-care, but there are some verses that speak to caring for our bodies, minds, and spirits.
As adoptive moms (or moms who are waiting to adopt a child), practicing self-care is an integral part of meeting our own needs so we can meet the needs of our families.
But more importantly, if we can view self-care as a means to be in relationship with our Creator, and not being alone for the sake of being alone, then I think we’re on the right track!
What do you think about self-care? How do you feel after having listened to this episode?
Important note: I'm not a pastor or theologian, these are just *my* personal opinions and perceptions of scripture.

Taking care of yourself as an adoptive mom is vital for your well-being and your family’s health. By prioritizing your own needs, you'll be better able to support your child and your family in the long run.
In the second episode of a three-part series, we explore the ways mamas-by-adoption can take some solo time to fill their cups, from coffee with a friend, to perusing the library alone, to counseling, to prayer walks. We are all moms, and we face many of the same challenges, but as adoptive moms, there may be some unique situations that arise in our motherhood journeys. | Episode 20: Feel like a Fraud? Navigating Imposter Syndrome as a Mom-To-Be | 11 Dec 2024 | 00:18:58 | |
Ever feel like a fraud or imposter as a mama or mama-to-be? I know I have.
First of all, what is imposter syndrome? By definition, it’s the persistent inability to believe that one's success is deserved or has been legitimately achieved as a result of one's own efforts or skills.
Are you waiting to adopt a child and feel like a fraud evening thinking of yourself as a mom? Or are you holding your child in your arms and feel the sting of guilt or grief? Do you walk into a baby or children’s store to buy something and feel like everyone’s staring at you wondering, “Why is she here?” Ever feel like you’re not worthy of the children God has placed in your home?
Friend, this is a very real thing. I want to share a few reasons why you might feel like an imposter and different ways to combat this and step into your role as a mother.
Please leave me a review in Apple Podcasts! This will ensure other adoptive mamas will find my podcast and be served by the content. <3 I read each and every review!

| Episode 19: 6 Ways to Simplify Christmas with Kids: An Adoptive Mom’s Perspective | 04 Dec 2024 | 00:24:41 | |
In today’s podcast, we’re discussing simplifying holidays with little kids, especially if your family was made possible by adoption.
Everything we talk about applies to ALL families with little kids (probably aged 10 and under), but we’re looking at this through the lens of adoption.
This may or may not look different for your family depending on your child’s needs, but I think it’s safe to say all children have a need for simplicity and structure.
When it comes to holidays, specifically Christmastime, what does your family love to do? What works well? What traditions do you hold to? What lights your children up inside? Are there areas where you need to pivot? Let’s dive into today’s topic and talk about ways to simplify the holidays with little kids in the home. The goal here is to make moms, dads and kids feel loved and not overstressed this holiday season.
What are some ways you’re simplifying the holidays this year?
