The Beauty of Holiness Conference has officially concluded in South Africa!

Dianne Burnett and Jason Nix recap the final day, including the continued conversations and votes on petitions, and the near-unanimous approval of the Articles of Faith.

The celebration continued with the Celebration of Africa night, an evening filled with vibrant attire, food, desserts, dancing, music, theatrical performances, and more.

Who was elected, where will they serve, and what does this mean for the Church’s next chapter? Listen as Jason and Dianne unpack the results, reflect on the celebration, and look ahead to the September 5 consecration in Johannesburg.

Diane Ury serves as the National Ambassador for Holiness for The Salvation Army and is based in Raleigh, North Carolina. After nine years of ministry with The Salvation Army and years of service as an ordained pastor in the Evangelical Methodist Church, Diane brings a deep passion for holiness and the work of the Holy Spirit.

While in Johannesburg for the Beauty of Holiness General Conference, Diane joins us to share her story, her heart for the Church, some history of the Salvation Army, and what it means to “turn your face toward the breath” of God.

The Connectional Council reported on its work over the past two years, while delegates were introduced to the Global Methodist Church’s draft liturgies and strategic framework.

Bishop Mark Webb delivered one of the day’s most powerful challenges: “If your church isn’t willing to MULTIPLY disciples and MULTIPLY churches, the Global Methodist Church probably isn’t for you.”

At the end of the episode, Tesia Mallory, chair of the Liturgical Task Force, and Jessica LaGrone, chair of the Connectional Council, join the conversation for a closer look at the draft liturgies and strategic framework.

With committee work continuing, more reports and results are expected tomorrow.

Beauty of Holiness Conference: Serving God Without the Materials | Rev. Kabah Mwenze

Jason Nix sits down with Rev. Kabah Kasongo Mwenze, a clergy leader from the Democratic Republic of Congo, for a powerful conversation about the rapid growth of the Global Methodist Church across Africa.

Kabah shares his story of ministry in the DRC, where he serves the local church and assists episcopal leadership while also serving as a member of the Global Methodist Church’s Kingdom Advancement Commission. He describes the remarkable faith of congregations that left their previous denomination and began again with very little, gathering as new churches in homes, schools, and even under trees.

Without many of the buildings, equipment, and resources churches elsewhere may take for granted, these communities continue to worship, make disciples, plant churches, and experience tremendous growth. Kabah shares how he has witnessed God’s love and mercy through it all and what the growing Methodist movement in Africa can teach the global church about faith, sacrifice, and dependence on God.

It’s an encouraging picture of a church growing rapidly and serving God faithfully, even without the materials and resources many consider essential.
