Travelling with disability is one thing, but try adding in the logistics of another human or two with a lot of needs. This week is another one for the parents out there. We talk to mum Ebony Uamaki, digging into travelling as a blind person and parent of four little kids.

Have you ever wondered what it's like to experience one of the oldest rainforests as a blind person? Or how it feels to get around one of the seven wonders of the world with mobility issues? Accessed That is a new podcast presented by Queensland that explores what it’s really like to travel as a person with a disability. 

Hosted by Karni Liddell and Oliver Hunter, each episode sends a travel lover on an adventure around Queensland and then brings them into the studio to chat. We ask what it’s like for them to navigate the world with their disability – hearing the highs, the lows, and the low down from the people who have been there and accessed that.

We’re digging into the sometimes magical and sometimes messy endeavour that is travel, so expect lots of laughs (and maybe a few tears) as we gather all the tips for exploring the state.

2023 is Queensland’s Year Of Accessible Tourism. Accessed That has been created to share travel stories and help ensure Queensland holidays are for everyone.

Travelling as a family takes a lot of planning. Travelling when one of your kids also has a disability? Even more so. We ask Emmah Money, author, mum and motivational speaker with cystic fibrosis why she does it. When it comes to accessibility, there is no one size fits all. Especially when your diagnosis is not straightforward either. Today, we talk to travel journalist Imogen Kars who lives with multiple disabilities and chronic illness about what happens when your situation is complex and in flux. We explore what accessibility was like in the Outback as well as dig into the importance of listening to your body and asking for support when you need it.
