Volume 6 is not merely a conclusion; it's a crescendo that unearths the remaining massive progressive club hits and Classic House tracks from 1998-1999. This final volume is like a nostalgic dance floor, filled with tunes that most of us have swayed to, even if their titles might momentarily escape us. A parade of iconic 90s dance hits takes center stage, each one a sparkling gem in the treasure chest of 90's House Music. One notable exception – the intriguing Hex Hector remix of Tina Turner's "When the Heartache Is Over" – beckons with mystery. Although widely rumored at the time, this version seemed to vanish like a ghost note, overshadowed by the Metro Mix. It was only during the creation of the Tina Turner Diva Hall of Fame series earlier this year that this elusive remix danced back into the limelight. In those days, being a dance music enthusiast meant more than just clicks and streams. It involved road trips to San Antonio, 4-hour drives from small-town America, and weekend adventures at the Bonham Exchange. It was a quest, not just for the latest club tunes but for the pulsating rhythm that connected music lovers. The DJ008 website, a precursor to Napster and other file-sharing services, offered a digital avenue for music discovery. But with dial-up connections, where downloading a single song could take hours, the thrill of the physical hunt often prevailed. Now, as we embrace this volume, we're not merely revisiting a time and place; we're celebrating an era of 90's dance hits and Classic House Tracks that defined a generation. From Kim English's "Unspeakable Joy" (Razor 'n' Guido Vocal Mix) to Mariah Carey's "My All" (David Morales Classic Club Mix), these songs invite us to dance once more to the rhythm of our memories. Volume 6 is not just a compilation; it's a time capsule, a tribute to a golden age of dance music. Whether it's your first listen or a cherished revisit, these sounds are timeless. Until the next time...ENJOY! Album : The Ultimate 90’s House Classics [1998 – 1999] Vol. 6Genre : 90’s Classic HouseYear : 2021Total Time : 3:07:54 1. This particular journey from 1998 - 1999, steps beyond the borders of mainstream progressive house, unlocking a treasure trove of musical creativity that continues to inspire the dance floors of today. Remember "Music Sounds Better With You" by Stardust? This iconic track gave birth to several mashups, including Madonna's live concert sensation, the "Holiday" mashup. Then there's the infectious groove of "Get Get Down" by Paul Johnson, the gritty pulse of "Bodyrock" by Moby, and the timeless melody of "9PM (Til I Come)" by ATB – a track that laid the foundation for this year's hit "Your Love (9PM)" by Topic & A7S. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=duEHCbMWNrs From "Better Off Alone" by Alice Deejay, which has been resurrected in recent mashups, to the bouncy Eurodance rhythm of "2 Times" by Ann Lee, Volume 5 curates a thrilling ride through the dance hits that shaped a generation. How about "Blue (Da Ba Dee)" by Eiffel 65? Or "King Of My Castle" by Wamdue Project? These tracks, among others, capture the euphoria of an era that reshaped dance music. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Lgs9QUtWc3M What makes Volume 5 truly special is the seamless blend of diverse hits that, on paper, might seem discordant but in reality, create a magical dance music mosaic. Jason Nevins' hard-hitting rock-influenced remix "It's Like That" with Run DMC finds its place alongside the party beats of "Red Alert" by Basement Jaxx, encapsulating the dynamic spirit of 90's dance music. How did Party Favorz pull off this musical alchemy? That's a secret even I can't quite pinpoint. But one thing is certain: a single spin of this set, and you'll be transported back to some of the most magical moments in dance music history. As the Ultimate 90's House Classics series nears its end, Volume 5 stands as a joyful testament to the power of dance music's past to energize the present. Stay tuned for the final set, where the massive progressive house tracks will take the spotlight, dropping on Saturday. Until then...ENJOY! As we delve into Volume 4 of The Ultimate 90's House Classics [1994 - 1995], we stand at a thrilling intersection where innovation meets tradition. The 90s were a pivotal decade in the dance music arena, a time when technology and creativity coalesced to shape the future. Giorgio Moroder, considered by many as the godfather of Techno and House Music, was a visionary artist. His groundbreaking work with Donna Summer and solo productions were milestones in electronic dance music. Decades ahead of its time in the seventies, his influence can be felt in the incredible evolution of House Music throughout the 90s. With technology advancing, the mid-decade brought a fresh wave of possibilities. House Music began to diversify, branching into numerous sub-genres that contributed to the kaleidoscopic sounds we recognize today. Size 9's "I'm Ready" is a testament to this innovation, embodying the spirit of a genre that was constantly pushing boundaries. Its pulsating beats and irresistible hooks encapsulate the experimental fervor that marked the era. The Rapino Brothers remix for Corona's "The Rhythm Of The Night" is another standout, offering a melodic blend of infectious grooves that transcended dance floors worldwide. It's a quintessential example of the magic that unfolded when traditional instruments met electronic ingenuity. In "Take Me Higher" (T-empo's Club Adventure) by Diana Ross, we see a fusion of classic vocals and forward-thinking production techniques, creating a vibrant synergy that resonates with the very essence of 90s House. Tracks like "Been A Long Time" (Full Intention 12" Mix) by The Fog, Jamiroquai's "Space Cowboy" (David Morales Classic Club Remix), M People's "One Night In Heaven" (David Morales Classic Mix), and Madonna's "Human Nature" (The Human Club Extended Mix) showcase the era's willingness to explore, innovate, and reinterpret. Even Björk's experimental touch in "Big Time Sensuality" (The Fluke Magimix) and Staxx's euphoric "Joy" (Lovejoy Vocal 12" Mix) find their place in this collection, reflecting the broad spectrum and international appeal of 90s House. These groundbreaking tracks, crafted by DJs and producers who are still influencing the industry today, offer a vivid snapshot of an era marked by technological marvel and creative exploration. They embody the enduring legacy of House Music, a legacy that continued to thrive and evolve into the latter part of the decade, paving the way for new sounds and experiences. The Ultimate 90's House Classics 1994 - 1995 Volume 3 showcases some of the Best 90s House Remixes and Classic House Tracks that capture the unique spirit and innovation of this incredible era. Starting strong with M People's "Moving On Up," we're greeted with a vibrant anthem that perfectly represents the optimism and energy of the 90s. This track's uplifting lyrics and soulful delivery became a staple of the decade, echoing the desire for progression and self-improvement. We then ascend to Wink's "Higher State of Consciousness," an electronic masterpiece that played a significant role in moving house music towards a more psychedelic and immersive experience. This track's hypnotic rhythms and futuristic sounds introduced a new dimension to the 90s dance scene, marking a turning point in the genre's evolution. The Rollo & Sister Bliss Monster Mix for Donna Summer's "I Feel Love '95" provides a nostalgic yet fresh take on a disco classic. It's an exhilarating reminder of how timeless pieces can be reimagined, connecting generations through music. As for the controversial "Short Dick Man" by 20 Fingers (J.J. Energy Mix), this irreverent track showcases the provocative side of 90s house. Its bold lyrics and catchy beat brought a mischievous flair to the dance floor, making it a memorable hit for many. Moving into deeper and more soulful territory, tracks like "What Hope Have I" by Sphinx feat. Sabrina Johnston, MK's "Love Changes" featuring Alana, and Crystal Waters' "100% Pure Love" display the emotional depth and melodic richness of Classic House Tracks. These songs are a testament to the genre's versatility, blending thought-provoking lyrics with captivating beats. The David Morales remix of River Ocean's "Love & Happiness (Yemaya Y Ochun)" brings a touch of Latin flavor and spiritual essence to the mix. With its infectious rhythm and India's powerful vocals, it's a track that transcends cultural boundaries, resonating with audiences worldwide. "I Believe" by Sound of Blackness (Classic Gospel Mix) offers an uplifting spiritual journey, while K.D. Lang's "Lifted By Love" (Elevate Your Love Mix) contributes a sense of exploration and transcendent love. Both tracks encapsulate the diversity of themes and styles found in the Best 90s House Remixes. Volume 3 of the Ultimate 90's House Classics from 1994 - 1995 serves as a sonic time capsule, preserving the rich tapestry of the 90s dance scene. This installment celebrates some of the decade's Classic House Tracks that still resonate today. A highlight for me is N'Dea Davenport's contributions, both with the Brand New Heavies and her upcoming solo work. Alongside Adeva and Barbara Tucker, these powerhouse vocalists defined the era with their soulful melodies, placing them on a level that few could reach. However, it's not all praise for this period. I have some reservations, particularly concerning David Morales and, to some extent, C + C Music Factory and Junior Vasquez. The Morales collaboration with Mariah Carey, like the take-me-to-church revival of "Anytime You Need a Friend," feels misguided. It extended the track unnecessarily, losing the essence of the original piece. The 11-minute epic needed trimming to an 8-minute version, but even then, it feels laborious. These DJs typically blend the gospel with groove, but on this track, the energy never seems to ignite. "Pride (A Deeper Love)" by Aretha Franklin, expertly mixed by Clivillés and Cole, kept the song moving with a deep groove, something lacking in "Anytime You Need a Friend." Thankfully, Morales found his stride with the mix of "My All," although it surprisingly peaked only at #3 on the dance charts. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UJmPsTz9Ocg This volume of Iconic 90s Dance Hits wouldn't be complete without mentioning crossover hits like the Bucketheads (Kenny "Dope" Gonzalez) "The Bomb! (These Sounds Fall Into My Mind)" and "Magic Carpet Ride" by the Mighty Dub Katz (Norman Cook and GMoney). Both these tracks bridged the gap between dance floors and radios, epitomizing the influence of 90s House Music. As I curate the final volume of this two-year series, the progression towards harder house and the emergence of Trance are evident. Still, the tracks remain loyal to the House Music sphere, reminiscent of how Donna Summer's "I Feel Love" stayed true to the Discosphere during its release era. Stay tuned for volume three of the Ultimate 90s House Classics 1994 - 1995, dropping next week, as we keep reliving the Iconic 90s Dance Hits that shaped our musical culture. This era marked a significant transformation, introducing Classic House Tracks that are still admired today. As we moved into the mid-90s, the interplay between Hip Hop and House Music began to fade, each genre charting its distinct path. However, the era was far from mundane; the budding Trance genre started teasing the mainstream, artists like Opus III and Josh Wink paving the way. Legends like Oakenfold and Rollo & Sister Bliss were creating waves with big room House tracks, setting the stage for their eventual renowned status. Old School House Music during this time was filled with Soulful House legends like MAW, Frankie Knuckles, and David Morales. Commercial House music was flourishing with remixers like Love To Infinity, StoneBridge, Brothers In Rhythm, and Roger Sanchez. Underground sensations like Junior Vasquez, Tony Moran, and Armand Van Helden were crafting Big Room tracks that would soon conquer the club scene. Unveiling this series is akin to opening a musical time capsule, filled with the Best 90s House Remixes that once ruled the dance floors but have since vanished from the collective memory. For instance, the "Beautiful People" mixed by C.J. became a timeless hit for Barbara Tucker. Aretha Franklin's "A Deeper Love," remixed by C + C Music Factory, symbolizes the era's profound emotions. Tracks like the Love To Infinity's Classic Paradise Club Mix of Judy Cheeks' "As Long As You're Good To Me" or the MAW Style Mix of "Everybody Be Somebody" by Ruffneck feat. Yavahn represent the artistic brilliance of the time. Junior Vasquez's Soundfactory Mix of "Your Loving Arms" by Billie Ray Martin captures the innovative spirit of the 90s Club Anthems. The Ultimate 90s House Classics series is not just a collection; it's a heartfelt tribute to an incredible era that shaped today's music landscape. It revives the 90s Club Anthems, like the Junior Vasquez 10.31 Mix of "Keep In Touch (Body To Body)" by Shades Of Love, which once pulsated through speakers around the world. Volume two of the Ultimate 90s House Classics from 1994-1995 is arriving soon. Until then, let these Old School House Music tracks transport you back to a time when dance floors were alive with energy and passion. Until the next time...ENJOY! This volume is packed with dance floor heat, chart-toppers, and timeless sensations that can awaken any dance enthusiast's soul. Kicking things off with Chaka Khan's string-infused Garage Mix of "Love You All My Lifetime," this set pays homage to the Diva Hall of Fame inductees. Martha Wash follows suit with "Give It To You" (Momo's Klub Mix), a testament to her fresh success following collaborations with Black Box and C + C Music Factory. The journey continues with chart-toppers from Lil' Louis, like "Club Lonely" and the soul-stirring "Saved My Life" featuring the fabulous Joi Cardwell. The spotlight then shifts to newcomers who dominated the charts such as Saint Etienne's "Nothing Can Stop Us," Opus III's "It's A Fine Day," Sunscreem's "Love U More" (Farley & Heller Heavy Club Mix), and Blue Pearl's "[Can You] Feel the Passion." One track that stands tall in this volume is "It's Gonna Be A Lovely Day" by The S.O.U.L. S.Y.S.T.E.M., a global dance sensation stemming from C + C Music Factory and gracing the famed "Bodyguard" soundtrack. The David Morales Def Mix of "I'll Be Your Friend" by Robert Owens, Maurice's Club Mix of "Hey Mr. D.J." by Zhane, and the Union City Mix of "The New Anthem" by Reel 2 Real featuring Erick More are just a few of the tunes that make this collection shine. These 90s House Music Classics reflect a time when DJs were experimenting with transitions, moving away from the middle breaks popular in the 80s. It's a detail that only adds to the charm of this collection, capturing a unique musical moment in time. The flawless mixing, epic music, and painstaking remastering of tracks like the Kenlou B Boy Mix of "Only Love Can Break Your Heart" by Saint Etienne and David Morales' 12" Dance Mix of Pet Shop Boys' "Where The Streets Have No Name" (I Can't Take My Eyes Off You) showcase why these sets are so thrilling. While we await the final set of this two-year exploration, Party Favorz assures that this musical escape is here to help you through life's challenges. Let the melodies be that unchanging constant, bringing light to the tunnel. Until the next time...ENJOY! This set presents the magic of Marshall Jefferson's "Move Your Body (The House Music Anthem)" that rocked the charts anew in 2020, and Lisa Stansfield's timeless "People Hold On," whose Dirty Scoundrels remix ignited the club scene years later. They perfectly encapsulate the unique blend of creativity, innovation, and rhythm that defines the ultimate 90s House music classics. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QAR8cq5Bl94 In this anthology, the celebrated icons share space with underground gems, representing the House music scene's multifaceted charm. From the erotic Acid House of Lil' Louis' "French Kiss" to Ralphi Rosario's 80's underground smash "You Used To Hold Me," featuring the unforgettable monologue by Xavier Gold, these tracks remind us why the ultimate 90s House music classics continue to reverberate through contemporary dance floors. The first time I heard "French Kiss" was when I was cruising the Mining Company bar in Dallas and the DJ dropped this song. It completely blew my mind because it was not like anything else out at the time. The slow down in the middle with the female groans before slowly building back up into its throbbing beats was out of this world. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CgOsg5vhwFY Who can resist Crystal Waters' "Gypsy Woman," with its memorable Basement Boy's Strip To The Bone Mix, or the David Morales Classic Mix of Shawn Christopher's "Another Sleepless Night"? Whether it's Frankie Knuckles' ethereal "The Whistle Song" or catchy one-offs like Right Said Fred's "I'm Too Sexy," these 90s House music classics offer something for every fan of the genre. I remember dancing the night away to Crystal Waters' "Gypsy Woman" in my first visit to New York City. That song is forever etched in my memory. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=qR87PA8e_aA The breadth and depth of the classics, from crossover hits to essential club tracks, are astonishing. Songs like Black Box's "Everybody Everybody" and Inner City's "Good Life (Magic Juan's Remix)" not only set the dance floor on fire but continue to influence today's musical panorama. These tracks have been tapped, flipped, and revered, testifying to the enduring power of the original ultimate 90s House music classics. There's a story behind "Good Life" that I won't recount here lest I get in trouble but it's a worthy one. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ztd__xu1YGA My enthusiasm might shine through when discussing these remarkable dance cuts.
