#StreetFighter #Capcom #KitaoSakurai #Ryu #Ken #ChunLi #MBison

What happens when you have a movie that is very unapologetic in being like the thing its adapting? Well you get this latest Street Fighter adaptation that is surprisingly, objectively good. The film knows its adapting a very silly and fun game franchise and its fully embraces the insanity of it all. Everybody knew the assignment and nailed it very well. Definitely worth the watch.

#MistyGreen #ChrisRock #Hollywood

Misty Green is a film that gives a very unapologetic view of what its like the maneuver in Hollywood especially for a person that has solid talent but lots of baggage behind it. Following the ebbs and flows of Misty and her life is fascinating to watch because you end up really rooting for her to succeed even with her navigating her own struggles.

#VisionQuest #WandaVision #AgathaAllAlong #ChildrensCrusade #Marvel #MCU #Disney

The final part of the Wanda/Vision trilogy is upon us and it starts off with a huge bang. Episodes 1 & 2 sets the stage for this new Vision's character journey. This new Vision is trying to understand the old version down to even replicating the things it did but as we see in these 2 episodes, Ultron exists to nudge this new version in a direction where Vision has his own persona. This is gonna be a fun watch.

#TheSocialNetwork #TheSocialReckoning #Facebook #MarkZuckerberg #AaronSorkin

If The Social Network gave us a viewpoint of a guy who had no problem betraying people left and right with no remorse, then The Social Reckoning goes hard in the paint in showing what happens when arrogance and greed takes precedent over protecting the people of the platform you made. As great as the film is, if it released in 2023 it would've hit way better.

The final(for now) CGI Bio Hazard! And boy...it certainly is a movie. Let go out with a bang ...if you wanna call it that.

#Lanterns #GreenLantern #DCU #DCcomics #WB #TomKing

The season finale is here. Does Lanterns stick the landing on its story? Yes it does but there's a small caveat and its in the overall telling of the narrative mainly in its "tell but don't show" logic at times.

#Digger #TomCruise #AlejandroGIñárritu

Digger is conundrum of a film. On one hand the marketing of this movie doesn't give you much to work with to get a read of what its about. Flip side is that its visually intriguing that you end being being curious on wanting to see it. Its definitely a crazy wild ride that has a message that makes you sit with it for awhile

#Lanterns #GreenLantern #DCcomics #DCU #WB

We are getting down the wire as we head into this season finale and Episode 7 gives us not only the buddy cop dynamic of Hal and John but alos further intrigue on what exactly Hal had planned in his backpocket. Definitely a hefty episode.

The real life story of Joe Clark! Kinda...not really, but the story gets a lot right. This is a golden black classic. We talk about the politics, the crack era, Morgan Freeman and what really happened.

#YourMotherYourMotherYourMother #MahershalaAli #JohnCho #TramellTillman #GiancarloEsposito

Your Mother Your Mother isn't quite the Blade film that everyone assumed it was. In fact this movie has more in line with Ghost Dog: The Way of the Samurai in that its a personal film about overcoming grief and dealing with Latif picking up the pieces of his family life amidst him being a hit man. The action that the movie does have is great and it works in line with the story. But this movie is way more about the drama than action. Its a movie that showcases everybody's talent.

Rouge bad ass cop Jack Cates and bank robber Reggie Hammond have 48 Hours to capture Albert Ganz, Hammond's old partner. Sound simple enough. Let's just hope this movie can create the buddy-cop genre, or at least make Eddie Murphy a star.

#LegendoftheWhiteDragon #JDF #PowerRangers #BatintheSun #AaronSchoenke

After years of post-production hell, we finally get to see the movie we all been waiting for...I mean, some of us were waiting for. Its time to rip the band-aid off and talk about JDF's last hurrah with Legend of the White Dragon. This is a serious talk because all three of 3BG is here alongside PrimeGundam and Blackwing2040. Just a warning, we're brutal with this one.

#GreenLantern #Lanterns #DCU #DCcomics #WB #HBO

Episode 6 represents a story reset coming off the action packed Ep. 5. We finally get the 2026 story kicking off and yet the heavy weight of the previous 4 episodes looms large here. We catch up on what the characters have been up to since the Rushville incident and new mysteries unfold in the process.

#ResidentEvil #RE #ZachKregger #Capcom

This Resident Evil film represents the best way to go about doing an adaptation of a beloved franchise. We have a film that follows an average joe that ends up being in the bioterrorism chaos that is the Raccoon City incident. The movie is instantly relatable in that you're rooting for this guy to make it through all the trials and tribulations he endures. He's figuring things out as you would if you were playing a character in a video game. The scares and horror work very well from start to finish to where you end up wanting more. Definitely a solid film overall.

Welcome to a very special episode of 3BGPodcast! ShaggyBlack, our best friend, brother and Cinema Villian joins us! 15 years ago we talked about this Robert Townsend classic. Except now we're actually seasoned and vetted film critics, so everything we say is fact! We talk about Black All-Star movies, the drip, the comedy, the Luther, the Pill Cosby and the legit impact of this movie.

#Lanterns #GreenLantern #DCcomics #DCU #WB

While on the surface, 'Lights Out' presents itself like a season finale, its really an end to a storyline that gave us a better understanding on what drives Hal Jordan and John Stewart. And at the epicenter of this is two entities: Zoe the Manhunter and Lianna the Guardian. Hal and John's conflict came about due in part to the shady nature of how the Guardians operated. Its through this that this episode gives us a big character moment for John.

#Lanterns #GreenLantern #DCU #WB #DCcomics

Much like with Episode 3, this episode provides even more clarity and progression for both Hal and John to where they end up having a good comradery throughout this endeavor. We get a big reveal on who is the Manhunter and we finally get some time with Sinestro and seeing his relationship with Hal.

Time for some old man action! Paul Kersey has another woman he was close to killed by drugs! Its time kill drugs!

#Lanterns #GreenLantern #DCcomics #WB #HBOMax

Episode 3 of Lanterns provides alot of context for not only John Stewart but for Hal Jordan as well. We see how closely tied together John and Hal truly are as this episode goes into the backstory of John Stewart and how he got to the position to be part of the Green Lantern Corps.

Its wild too that we are still early in the season and yet we get a much needed episode that ends up making you look at the first two episodes in a different way.

Rom Coms always run up against being very by the books and basic but every once in awhile you get a rom com that adds a twist to the mix to spice it up. One Night Only bills itself as being essentially The Purge but for sex instead of killing. In a crazy way the movie does a good job with setting up this environment in which we see our two characters navigating through. The film works real well overall and is pretty entertaining for it..

NFL Preseason, College Football Preview, WNBA Playoff picture, some F1, some Baseball and stuff

#KamenRider #KamenRiderZO #KamenRiderJ #ShinKamenRider #tokusatsu #toku #PowerRangers

The guys are back talking about three Kamen Rider movies that came out during the Showa Era. In a way they were the prototype for what we got in Kuuga and Agito. At any rate, sit back and listen to the guy talk on these three films and chop it up on the recent news on the Hasbro Power Rangers show being canceled.

#Lanterns #DCU #GreenLantern #HBO #WarnerBros

And just like that, Episode 2 of Lanterns ups the ante and in a way addresses some of the complaints folks had in the pilot in that the show wasn't whimsical enough. The plot has gotten more intriguing and has eliminated certain theories from the Ep. 1. Also by the end, Hal and John have finally grown to respect one another even though its still a little uneasy between the two. 2 episodes in and the show it still keeping folks captivated.

After a long hiatus, CJ and Prime are back with a renewed focus back on comic books and also talking SDCC 2026

Its been a few years, so let's go back to 1970's Japan. Team Chiba was rolling with Karate bangers. This time Etsuko Shihomi stars in female answer to Sonny's hit movie. Complete with anime and tokusatsu madness!

#Mutiny #JasonStatham

Jason Statham bringing the heat again with another simple action banger. This time we see himn having to clear his name by sneaking onto a ship and figuring out a simple conspiracy. Its about what you expect out of a film like this. Nothing crazy, very straightforward. Villains who are smart and effective so Statham has to actually work for his kills. Entertaining film overall.

#Lanterns #GreenLantern #DCcomics #DCU #JamesGunn #JohnStewart #HalJordan

Lanterns is a new project in the DCU brought to us by Damon Lindelof and Tom King. This first episode sets the tone for what this season may be. We get a mix of mystery and lots of Green Lantern lore as we watch the dynamic of Hal Jordan and John Stewart. Stick around...This show has the makings of greatness

One of the most important black movies of the 1970s. Instead of glorifying the streets, its shows the downfall and stands on it. Damn this movie is good.

The movie that made Clint Eastwood a superstar. This classic spaghetti western was one of the highest watermarks in the Western genre. This 60 year old picture aged very well....kinda...we'll talk about it.

JCVD and JCVD! State of the art filmmaking at it's best! Double the action! Double the kicks! Double the 90's Hong Kong Action Troupes! Double the splits!

#SpidermanBrandNewDay #Spiderman #Marvel #Sony #MCU

Brand New Day is a culmination of the growth of Peter Parker from the previous 3 Spiderman films. And boy is the pay off so good from the its opening moments. This is a movie that gives you the definitive Spider-Man experience and you see all its inspirations onscreen especially in regards to the recent Playstation games. Solid film top to bottom. A Must Watch!!!

Fast 5 was and always will be the biggest Fast movie of them all. At least until the next one comes. We talk about Diesel, The Rock, Paul Walker having a negative stat in intimidation, Brazil, cars and the tone shift that changed it all for better or worse.

#SonyPlaystation #MicrosoftXbox #Nintendo #GamingIndustry #TheLastofUs #Evo #SNK

Oooh buddy the guys had a fun time blasting the bullshit that is currently happening in the gaming industry. Its a hot mess and we vent and get our jokes off on these corporate chuckleheads

#TheInvite #SethRogan #OliviaWilde #EdwardNorton #PenelopeCruz

The Invite is one of those films that sneaks up on you because of how it presents itself upfront. On the surface the film comes off like a standard comedy fare regarding two couples engaging with each other over dinner. But over the course of the film, it slowly starts being about the state of both couples relationships especially the marriage between Rogan and Wilde's characters. The movie goes about it in a very real way thats funny, insightful, and engaging. Definitely a solid watch overall.

We follow Rambo into the Afghan mountains! He's rescuing his fellow Americans from Soviet scum! We talk about the real Afghan-Soviet conflict, Stallone's slump, AMERICA YEEEEEEAH!, and many other things that will be painfully connected to Trump's America. Happy 250...

#KenjiOhba #BattleFeverJ #Denziman #SpaceSheriffGavan #SuperSentai #MetalHero

Kenji Ohba had a lasting legacy in the tokusatsu world and he will be sorely missed. A man who pioneered the Metal Hero franchise and kicked it off with Space Sheriff Gavan.. Who cemented himself in the Super Sentai genre in Battle Fever J and Denziman and was a very dedicated stunt performer that established a high energy style that we still see to this day. Even outside of the tokusatsu world, he made an impact as a performer being in various films especially in the Kill Bill Franchise. So sit back as CJ and Prime talk about Kenji and watch the Gavan/Gokaiger film.

John Singleton made a very Gen X movie that spoke on many themes that I'm sure Gen X learned not to do in the future. HAPPY JUNETEENTH!!!

#Supergirl #Superman #DCU #GodsandMonsters #MillyAlcock #JasonMamoa #EveRidley

Supergirl is a drastically different film per the usual superhero fair. Its a movie thats taking a very powerful character and putting her in a very personal story thats still filled with the usual superhero action and adventure that we've seen before. And it ends up working very well by the end of it all.

Yeah, yeah, the Knicks won...we talk about F1, UFC Freedom 250 and something else that isn't the Knicks winning or how New York is celebrating...this isn't jealously. Fuck the Knicks!

Wakanda Forever, niggaz! Black Panther was one of the biggest Black movies ever made. We talk about Chadwick, why its not that great, why its pretty good, why the fanbase is trash, why influencers and creators are brain dead morons and why Black people adore this movie.

3BG's first successful podcast was about the Saiyan Saga of Dragonball Z. That was 15 years ago! We covered all of Dragon Ball, GT , The Z series and its movies. Before we head to Dragonball Super, let's have a fun convo about our favorite anime of all time. We talk about Box Sets, the video games, Oldtaku memories, Sailor Moon v DBZ, Vic Migtouchayounggirlinahotelroom, Live Action, our favorite petty/funny moments and how DBZ kicked opened the door for anime in America.

#TheFurious #JoeTaslim #BrianLe #KenjiTanigaki #XieMiao

On a very special episode, CJ takes time out to talk to Actors Brian Le & Joe Taslim and Director Kenji Tanigaki, giving insight on aspects of The Furious. Then afterward CJ and DJ Tsu talk all about how damn good this film is. So sit back and enjoy this giant sized 3BG At the Movies.

Today we put a creative spotlight on Damien Becton. Damien has a kickstarter for a 90s/00s cartoon inspired comic called The Ruth Avenue Raiders. CJ chops it up with Damien on the origin of this comic and also some background on Damien and how he broke into the comic book business.

#SonyPlaystation #GodofWar #Wolverine #Laufey #GoW #CvS2 #MarvelTokon

So Sony came in HOT with the latest State of Play and they are really establishing in wanting folks to continue to invest in their console. CJ and DJ Tsu talk all about the games and get a little nostalgia as well.

It's time to talk about the movie your Paw-Paw says is "The greatest Hip-Hop film of all-time! Back when Rap was all about the real shit! ...dancing!!!" Thats right, we go deep into this shallow as hell plot!

#HeMan #MastersOfTheUniverse #Mattel #Skeletor #JaredLeto #IdrisElba #MotU #MOTU

Masters of the Universe was in developmental hell for a long time. Its one to develop an animated series surrounding He-Man cause ultimately its a property that started out being made for the sake of selling toys much like alot of cartoons that came out in the 80s. Over the years though, the He-Man lore started gaining traction especially on the comic book side which lent itself to more semi-serious endeavors like the early 2000's Animated series and the recent Netflix show.

In comes this movie which takes some of the silly aspects of the 80s show and mixes it in with the serious material and gives you a very fun and straightforward movie that is very unapologetic in what it is. Its a film thats very confident with the source material and it shows top to bottom from the performances(especially Jared Leto's Skeletor) to the world of Eternia. This is a movie that comes alive with its energy. Its definitely worth the watch even if you aren't a big He-Man fan.

Two friends are sick of the big city, they decide to leave and make it big elsewhere. While finding a better, they are falsely accused for a bank robbery. Seems like an easy thing to get out of. Seems that way...

#StarWars #TheMandalorianAndGrogu #TheMandalorian #Grogu #Disney #LucasFilms

The Mandalorian and Grogu is a throwback to the classic tried and true simple action/adventure movie where the movie wastes no time in getting you invested in the story. You can easily go into this film not watching the tv show because the movie through its actions tells you all you need to know not only about Mando but also of Grogu and the dynamics between the two. Great set pieces, solid visual effects, and a simple yet engaging story makes for a fun watch from beginning to end.

The sequel surpassing it former isn't uncommon but it's oddly specific. Usually comedies have a better chance achieving this. So we talk about that, 90's rock, SNL and other stuff. Party on Nerds!
